In football simulation games, it is very important for the interest of the game to make the stats of the football players close to reality. As the management concept is introduced to the sports simulation game, when the user plays the game for a long time, the existing player character retires. Therefore, the game creates the environment of the game by creating a new player in the game. In this study, we propose a method to create a new player character by using genetic algorithm to have the optimal ability similar to existing players. We compare and evaluate the player character with the existing random generation method, the correction random method and the proposed algorithm, and verify the validity of the proposed method.
As the industry develops, the technology used for games is also being advanced. In particular, AI technology is used to game automation and intelligence. These game player patterns are widely used in online games such as player matchmaking, generation of friendly or hostile NPCs, and balancing of game worlds. This study proposes a model generation method for game players. For model generation, attributes such as hunting, collection, movement, combat, crisis management, production, and interaction were defined, and patterns were extracted and modeled using decision tree method. To evaluate the proposed method, we used the game log of a commercial game and confirmed the meaningful results.

Player's actions in a game occur in the process of gameplay experiences in a play space designed by the developer according to preset gameplay beats. Focusing on beats that induce a first-person shooter (FPS) game's main gameplay, this paper analyzes the differences in eye gaze information found in different players during the course of gameplay. For this research goal, the study divides the beat areas in which play actions appear in association with gameplay beats at a typical FPS game level, repeatedly conducts tests in accordance with a player's experience level (novice and expert group), and collects and analyzes eye gaze information data in three types of beat areas. The analysis result suggests concrete guidelines for game level design for different beat areas based on an FPS game player's experience level. This empirical experiment method and result can lessen repetitive modification work for game level design and consequently be utilized for optimizing the game level to the developer's intention.

The purpose of two player game is that a player beats an enemy. In order to win to various enemies, a learning of various strategies is indispensable. However, the optimal action to overcome the enemies will change when the game done over and again because the enemy's actions also change dynamically. Sol it is din-cult that the player aquires the optimal action and that the specific player keeps winning to various enemies. Species who have a competition relation and affect other's existence is called a coevolution. Coevolution has recently attracred considerable interest in the community of Artificial Life and Evolutionary Computation(1). In this paper, we apply Classifier System for agent team to two player game. A reward and a penalty are given to the used rules when the agent achieve specific action in the game and each team's rulebase are evaluated based on the ranking in the league. We show that all teams can acquire the optimal actions by coevolution.

In this paper, It presents the method the player will be able to confront when the NPC approach to the player, the NPC which have the property which is similar form grouping. The property of the NPC follows in quality of Game and it decides with separate way. To attribute of the NPC it is composed of conduct pattern, an attack pattern and the weapon pattern back. It considers a priority on the group wild middle which is formed and it judges the attack yes or no of the player. The method that proposed will play an important role in development of a 3D FPS games.
From several commercialized games the technique of changing facial expressions is imported, and a design method of a game character for the player's empathy is expected to be diversified in the future. In this paper, as a design method of a game character for the player's empathy, this makes walking motion for the game character applied with 'human-emotion' factors as statistics variation of a game character in RPG genre. After this paper implements analyzed emotions of human facial expression and walking motions applied with emotion in examples of character animation theory, this paper divides walking motion applied with human-emotion factors into 8 types through relationship to statistics factors in RPG genre. And then these are applied to a knight character, which has the most similarity with human's physical feature of the game characters in RPG genre, and makes walking motion as variable statistics. As a game player controls the game character applied with 'human-emotion' factors, the effect of the player's empathy about the game character becomes higher, and the level of immersion in game play is also expected to increase.

In a dynamic game where the players move in a periodical sequence, each player observes the strategy of the others. So the players who move later in a game get to know the moves of others having made before them. Those who move earlier must take this into account in devising their optimal strategy. In the Poolco model, the bidding game is executed periodically. The player participating in the bidding game accumulates the information of its own and others'strategies, and payoffs through the repeated bidding process. Thereby, the players in this game would be able to map out how get the maximum profit, and get closer to the optimal strategy. This paper presents a mathematical modeling for a player to determine his or her optimal strategy at period T, based on the information acquired from the previous rounds for the periods, T-1, T-2, and so on. The proposed modeling is demonstrated with a dynamic fame theory.
The purpose of this study is to show typology of Non Player Character(NPCs) and to look out what narrative functions of NPCs are served in Massively Multi-player Online Role-Playing Game(MMORPG). As the relationship with player characters and the propensity of actions, NPCs are classified 4types; passive helper, active helper, passive antagonist, active antagonist. Each type performs different functions of game narrative. Especially passive helper functions as a essential glue of movement in game world and makes the chain of quest narratives. Active antagonist functions as the cause of space perspective and creates dramatic effect of game narrative. Those functions make spacial, dimensional and extensible game narrative.
Game artificial intelligence is usually used to provide intelligent and adjusted game environment for user. Previously, it was used for Non-player character(NPC) playing a role of a company or an enemy through collecting and analyzing a user's behaviour. However, it was just mimicking the user's behavior. This paper introduces a method to change game environment by analyzing a user's game behavior. Game behavior data has been used to understand user's game preference. Also, the user's preference was used to provide more active game environment by reflecting decision of geographical features, items and distribution of NPC. For experiment of the suggested method, we utilized a real 2D action game and confirmed the game environment which changing properly according to the user's game play.
Monte-Carlo Tree Search(MCTS) is a best-first tree search algorithm and has been successfully applied to various games, especially to the game of Go. We evaluate the performance of MCTS playing against each other in the game of Tic-Tac-Toe. It reveals that the first player always has an overwhelming advantage to the second player; and we try to find out the reason why the first player is superior to the second player in spite of the fact that the best game result should be a draw. Since MCTS is a statistical algorithm based on the repeated random sampling, it cannot adequately tackle an urgent problem that needs a strategy, especially for the second player. For this, we propose a strategic MCTS(S-MCTS) and show that the S-MCTS player never loses a Tic-Tac-Toe game.
