Determination of dosing rate for water treatment using fusion of genetic algorithms and fuzzy inference system (유전알고리즘과 퍼지추론시스템의 합성을 이용한 정수처리공정의 약품주입률 결정)

  • It is difficult to determine the feeding rate of coagulant in water treatment process, due to nonlinearity, multivariables and slow response characteristics etc. To deal with this difficulty, the fusion of genetic algorithms and fuzzy inference system was used in determining of feeding rate of coagulant. The genetic algorithms are excellently robust in complex operation problems, since it uses randomized operators and searches for the best chromosome without auxiliary information from a population consists of codings of parameter set. To apply this algorithms, we made the look up table and membership function from the actual operation data of water treatment process. We determined optimum dosages of coagulant (PAC, LAS etc.) by the fuzzy operation, and compared it with the feeding rate of the actual operation data.

  • In order to eliminate position errors existing at the steady state in the motion control of robotic manipulators, a new fuzzy control algorithm is proposed using three variables, position error, velocity error and integral of position errors as input variables of the fuzzy controller. Three dimensional look-up table is used toreduce the computational time in real-time control, and a technique reducing the amount of necessary memory is introduced. Simulation and experimental studies show that the position errors at the steady state are decreased more than 90% compared to those of existing fuzzy controller when the proposed fuzzy controller is applied to the 2 axis direct drive SCARA robot manipulator.

  • This paper introduces a hybrid induction motor control using a genetically optimized pseudo-on-line method. Optimization results from the use of a look-up table based on genetic algorithms to find the global optimum of an unconstrained optimization problem. The approach to induction motor control includes a pseudo-on-line procedure that optimally estimates parameters of a fuzzy PID (FPID) controller. The proposed hybrid genetic fuzzy PID (GFPID) controller is applied to speed control of a 3-phase induction motor and its computer simulation is carried out. Simulation results show that the proposed controller performs better than conventional FPID and PID controllers. The contribution of this paper is the introduction of a high performance hybrid form of induction motor control that makes on-line and real-time control of the drive system possible.

  • In this paper, we present an obstacle avoidance control algorithm for mobile robots based on SFLC (single-input fuzzy logic controller) with an efficient fuzzy logic look-up table to replace the traditional complicated operation. This method achieves better performance than traditional methods in terms of efficiency. The output of a SFLC leads the robot to the target automatically although many obstacles on the path. Our experiments show that the robot has good performance in the view of path tracking and other efficiency.

  • 본 논문에서는 음성 속도를 고려한 새로운 립싱크 방법에 대해서 제안한다. 실험을 통해 구축한 데이터베이스로부터 음성속도와 입모양 및 크기와의 관계를 퍼지 알고리즘을 이용하여 정립하였다. 기존 립싱크 방법은 음성 속도를 고려하지 않기 때문에 말의 속도와 상관없이 일정한 입술의 모양과 크기를 보여준다. 본 논문에서 제안한 방법은 음성 속도와 입술 모양의 관계를 적용하여 보다 인간에 근접한 립싱크의 구현이 가능하다. 또한 퍼지 이론을 사용함으로써 수치적으로 정확하게 표현할 수 없는 애매한 입 크기와 모양의 변화를 모델링 할 수 있다. 이를 증명하기 위해 제안된 립싱크 알고리즘과 기존의 방법을 비교하고 3차원 그래픽 플랫폼을 제작하여 실제 응용 프로그램에 적용한다.

  • This paper proposes a novel method with pseudo-on-line scheme using the optimized look-up table based on the genetic algorithm which does not use the gradient and finds the global optimum of an un-constraint optimization problem. The technique is a pseudo-on-line method that optimally estimates the parameters of fuzzy PID(FPID) controller for systems with non-linearity, using the genetic algorithm. The proposed controller(GFPID) with the auto-tuning function is applied to the on-line and real-time control of speed at 3-phase induction motor, and its computer simulation is carried out. simulation results show that the proposed methodis more excellent that conventional FPID and PID controllers.

  • In the past, when there were few vehicles on the road, the T.O.D.(Time of Day) traffic signal worked very well. The T.O.D. signal operates on a preset signal cycling which cycles on the basis of the average number of average passenger cars in the memory device of an electric signal unit. Now days, with increasing many vehicles on restricted roads, the conventional traffic light creates startup-delay time and end-lag-time. The conventional traffic light loses the function of optimal cycle. And so, $30-45\%$ of conventional traffic cycle is not matched to the present traffic cycle. In this paper we proposes electro sensitive traffic light using fuzzy look up table method which will reduce the average vehicle waiting time and improve average vehicle speed. Computer simulation results prove that reducing the average vehicle waiting time which proposed considering passing vehicle length for optimal traffic cycle is better than fixed signal method which doesn't consider vehicle length.

  • This work proposes a GUI-type on-line diagnostic program using SIMULINK and Fuzzy-Neuro algorithms for a helicopter turboshaft engine. During development of the diagnostic program, a look-up table type base performance module for reducing computer calculating time and a signal generation module for simulating real time performance data are used. This program is composed of the on-line condition monitoring program to monitor on-line measuring performance condition, the fuzzy inference system to isolate the faults from measuring data and the neural network to quantify the isolated faults. The reliability and capability of the proposed on-line diagnostic program were confirmed through application to the helicopter engine health monitoring.

  • In this paper the elasticity of fault-detection algorithm based on fuzzy logic is proposed through lots of experiments, justifying its validity. The four mathematical morpholgical operators was defined to detect the cracks. The cracks was detected via center of area method with ${\lambda}$-fuzzy measure of fuzzy sets. However generally favorable, the result owes to how adequate the lighting device is designed in case of the so far fine crack of pieces. In an attempt to improve the response of the system, It is designed to minimize the use of memory via LookUp table in software.
