A Study on the Fault Diagnosis System for Combustion System of Diesel Engines Using Knowledge Based Fuzzy Inference (지식기반 퍼지 추론을 이용한 디젤기관 연소계통의 고장진단 시스템에 관한 연구)

  • In general many engineers can diagnose the fault condition using the abnormal ones among data monitored from a diesel engine, but they don't need the system modelling or identification for the work. They check the abnormal data and the relationship and then catch the fault condition of the engine. This paper proposes the construction of a fault diagnosis engine through malfunction data gained from the data fault detection system of neural networks for diesel generator engine, and the rule inference method to induce the rule for fuzzy inference from the malfunction data of diesel engine like a site engineer with a fuzzy system. The proposed fault diagnosis system is constructed in the sense of the Malfunction Diagnosis Engine(MDE) and Hierarchy of Malfunction Hypotheses(HMH). The system is concerned with the rule reduction method of knowledge base for related data among the various interactive data.

  • Tunnel lighting is composed of entrance zone, interior zone and exit zone by KS C 3703. We have to consider adaptation at entrance zone and exit zone lighting to prevent deteriorate visibility like black hole and white hole phenomenon. So External luminance, vehicle velocity and traffic volume should be considered in threshold zone lighting and vehicle speed and traffic volume should be considered in interior zone lighting. But existing tunnel lighting system is not good at visibility and economic because that is only controled by external luminance. So in this paper, We improve visibility and economic of tunnel lighting system using fuzzy reasoning according to external luminance, vehicle velocity, traffic volume.

  • This paper presents a new identification method which utilizes fuzzy inference in parameter identification. The proposed system has an additional control loop where a real plant is replaced by a plant model. The control system to be designed is to satisfy the following specifications: 1) It has zero steady-state error. 2) It has adequate damping characteristics. 3) 1),2) satisfied, it has a shortest rise-time. Fuzzy rules describe the relationship between comparison results of the features and magnitude of modification in the model parameter values. This method is effective in auto-tuning because the response of the closed loop is verified. The proposed method is tested in simulation for several plants with high-order lags and dead-times.

  • 본 논문은 기존의 퍼지 다항식 뉴럴 네트워크 (Fuzzy Polynomial Neural Networks ; FPNN) 모델을 이용하여 비선형성 데이터에 대한 추론을 제안한다. 복잡한 비선형 시스템의 모델동정을 위하여 생성된 GMDH 방법에 기초한 FPNN의 각 노드는 퍼지 규칙을 기반으로 구축되었으며, 층이 진행되는 동안 모델 스스로 노드의 선택과 제거를 통해 최적의 네트워크 구조를 생성할 수 있는 유연성을 가지고 있다. FPNN 각각의 활성노드를 퍼지다항식 뉴론(Fuzzy Polynomial Neuron ; FPN)이라고 표현한다. FPNN의 후반부 구조는 입출력 변수 사이 의 간략과 회귀다항식 (1차, 2차, 변형된 2차식) 함수에 의해 구현된다. 규칙의 전반부 멤버쉽 함수는 삼각형과 가우시안형의 멤버쉽 함수가 사용된다. 또한 유전자 알고리즘을 사용하여 각노드의 부분표현식을 구성하는 입력변수의 수, 입력변수와 차수의 선택 동조를 통하여 최적의 Genetic Algorithms(GAs)을 이용한 FPNN모델을 설계하는 것이 유용하고 효과적임을 보인다.

  • We are sometimes interacting with people who we know nothing and facing with the difficult task of making decisions involving risk in social network. To reduce risk, the topic of building Web of trust is receiving considerable attention in social network. The easiest approach to build Web of trust will be to ask users to represent level of trust explicitly toward another users. However, there exists sparsity issue in Web of trust which is represented explicitly by users as well as it is difficult to urge users to express their level of trustworthiness. We propose a fuzzy-based inference model for Web of trust using user behavior information in social network. According to the experiment result which is applied in Epinions.com, the proposed model show improved connectivity in resulting Web of trust as well as reduced prediction error of trustworthiness compared to existing computational model.

  • This paper presents an optimal Fuzzy Control Technique to control the load frequency control of multiarea power system with a given stepwise load disturbance. The related simulation results show that the optimized fuzzy control technique are more effective than the conventional control technique (TBC, Optimal Control and etc) for reduction of load frequency deviation in transient and stedy-state, and for minimization of settling time.

  • In this work, we proesent a bidirectional approximate reasoning method and fuzzy inference network for interval valued decision making systems. For this, we propose a new type of similarity measure between two fuzzy vectors based on the Ordered Weighted Averaging (OWA) operator. Since the proposed similarity measure has a structure to give the extreme values by choosing a suitable weighting vector of the OWA operator, it can render an interval valued similarity value. From this property, we derive a bidirectional approximate reasoning method based on the similarity measure and show its fuzzy inference network implementation for the decision making systems requiring the interval valued decisions.

  • An elevator system which is a essential equipment for a vertical movement of object, as a property of building, have been drove by various expenditure and purpose. Since developing electrical control technology, control systems are highly developed. An elevator equipment is expended to wide, but a data accuracy acquisition technique and safety predict technique for securing system safety is still basic level. So, objective verification for elevator confidence condition is required absolutely accuracy measurement technique. Therefore, this study is accomplished in order to conquer a method of depending on sense of a manager with a simple numeric measurement data, and construct a logical, analytical foresight system for more efficient elevator management system.

  • In this paper, we present the position control of pendulum system which is driven by a ultrasonic motor. Since the system's response is different for each initial position of pendulum, it is difficult to obtain the satisfiable control performance by using a neural network which is learned by off-line. To overcome this problem, we propose the multiple controller based on fuzzy inference system for ultrasonic motor. and controller is designed by neural network. The proposed method shows good performance for any initial positions and it's effectiveness is verified from experiments. We expect that ultrasonic motor can be used as actuators of robot's leg or manipulator.

  • In this paper, a fault detection and isolation unit(FDIU) for a centrifugal pump system driven by DC-motor is proposed. The proposed scheme can be classified into the dedicated observer scheme(DOS). A fuzzy logic based inference engine is adopted for the isolation of each faults. Having the fuzzy inference engine, the proposed FDIU resolve a few important problems of the conventional DOSs with conventional two valued logic. The ouputs of the proposed FDIU are not "ith fault occurred" but the grade of memberships that indicate the consistency of observered symptoms(residuals) with each fault symptoms stored in the rule base. The ouputs can easily be transferred to the ranking of the fault possibilities and it will provide very useful informations in monitoring the process. The simulation results show that the FDIU has very good diagnostic ability even in the noisy environment.
