  • We summarize, in this paper, that we have learned from the slftwar reliability analysis of a large switching software composed of functional blocks which form slotware units. To determine the time of management activity related to sopftware reliability growth, we review the process of detection and correction of software failures. Also we apply the two softwre reliability frowth model, Goel-Okumoto and S-shaped model, to estimate the global software reliability growth to a set of failure found during period of the system test. The analysis methods and results can be applied to other large software development projects.

  • The functional characteristics of a ${\beta}$-cyclodextrin glucanotransferase (CGTase) excreted from alkalophilic Bacillus sp. BL-31 that is highly specific for the intermolecular transglycosylation of bioflavonoids were investigated. The new ${\beta}$-CGTase showed high specificities for glycosyl acceptor bioflavonoids, including naringin, rutin, and hesperidin, and especially naringin. The transglycosylation of naringin into glycosyl naringin was then carried out under the conditions of 80 units of CGTase per gram of maltodextrin, 5 g/l of naringin, 25 g/l of maltodextrin, and 1 mM $Mn^{2+}$ ion at $40^{\circ}C$ for 6 h, resulting in a high conversion yield of 92.1%.

  • As the number of ECUs (Electronic control units) are increasing, reliability and functional stability of a software in an ECU is getting more important. Therefore the application of functional safety standards ISO 26262 is making the software more reliable. Software fault injection test (SFIT) is required as a verification technique for the application of ISO 26262. In case of applying SFIT, an artificial error is injected to inspect the vulnerability of the system which is not easily detected during normal operation. In this paper, the basic concept of SFIT will be examined and the application of SIFT based on ISO26262 will be described.

  • An enterprise resource planning (ERP) system is an enterprise wide management system made possible by information technology. Organizations have been implementing ERP packages for integrating the business process in various functions. ERP has been helping companies to automate their entire business processes within the organization as a whole instead of just in some functional units. This paper presents five case studies indicating that enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems do enhance the performance of manufacturing organizations. The ERP systems studied are from SAP, Baan, and Oracle. In all five cases, better cross-functional integration was a critical success factor.

  • Not all linguistic units are of equal importance in the functioning of language. The present study aims to examine He functional load of phonemes in standard Korean, To achieve this goal, B analysed continuous texts selected from the textbooks of elementary school on a personal computer. The total number of syllables studied in this thesis is 101,637. The characteristics of the Korean syllable structures are as follows. 1) In a syllable head, /n/ occurs most frequently. 2) The frequencies of syllables with an onset are much higher than those with no onset ( 85% : 15% ), 3) In a syllable head, obstruents are preferred because their consonantal strength are great, (57%) 4) In a syllable nucleus, /a/ occurs most frequently. 5) The rate of occurrence of the monophthongs is 90.2%, and that of the diphthongs is 9.8%. Especially the three basic vowels(/i,a,u/) occur at the rate of 46.6%. 6) In a syllable coda, /n/ occurs most frequently. 7) The open syllables are favored (open syllable 68.7%, closed syllable 31.3%).

  • This paper aims to make an artificial arm control strategy. For this, we propose a new feature extraction method and design artificial neural network for the functional classification of myoelectric signal(MES). We first transform the two channel myoelectric signals (MES) for biceps and triceps into frequency domain using fast Fourier transform (FFT). And features were obtained by comparing the magnitudes of ensemble spectrum data and used as inputs to the three-layer neural network for the learning. By changing the number of units in hidden layer of neural network we observed the improvement of classification performance. To observe the effeciency of the proposed scheme we performed experiments for classification of six arm functions to the three subjects. And we obtained on average 94[%] the ratio of classification.

  • We have performed Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) studies on blends of poly(vinyl phenol) (PVPh) with poly(n-alkylene 2,6-naphthalates) containing alkylene units of different lengths. The results indicate that each poly(ethylene 2,6-naphthalate) (PEN) and poly(trimethylene 2,6-naphthalate) (PTN) blend with PVPh is immiscible or partially miscible, but blends of poly(butylene 2,6-naphthalate) (PBN) with PVPh are miscible over the whole range of compositions in the amorphous state. FTIR spectroscopic analysis confirmed that significant degree of intermolecular hydrogen bonding occurs between the PBN ester carbonyl groups and the PVPh hydroxyl groups. The large difference in the degree of mixing in these blend systems is described in terms of the effect that chain mobility has on the accessibility of the ester carbonyl functional groups toward the hydroxyl groups of PVPh, which in turn impacts the miscibility of these blends.

  • This study aimed at analyzing the trend of carbon dioxide emission for direct and indirect areas by using inter industry relations table between 2000, 2003 and 2005 in the key building materials and components. Results of this study are as follows; First, the material and components for this study was selected in 20 industries of products such as sand, gravel, cement, concrete articles, rebar, and steel bar. Second, among the 20 selected key building materials, the group with the highest carbon-dioxide emission was shown in ready-mixed concrete, concrete articles, and primary aluminum goods. Third, as a result of analyzing the changes to the units of carbon dioxide emission according to passage of time, the number of items which is changed in such as sustained increase or decrease over time was insignificant in carbon-emission change trend.

  • The present study was carried out to characterize the functional properties of spinomesencephalic tract (SMT) neurons in the lumbar spinal cord of urethane anesthetized rats. Extracellular single unit recordings were made from neurons antidromically activated by stimulation of the midbrain area, including the deep layers of superior colliculus, periaqueductal gray and midbrain reticular formation. Recording sites were located in laminae I-VII of spinal cord segments of L2-L5. Receptive field properties and responses to calibrated mechanical stimulation were studied in 78 SMT cells. Mean conduction velocity of SMT neurons was $19.1{\pm}1.04\;m/sec$. SMT units were classified according to their response profiles into four groups: wide dynamic range (58%), deep/tap (23%), high threshold (9%) and low threshold (3%). A simple excitatory receptive field was found for most SMT neurons recorded in superficial dorsal horn (SDH). Large complex inhibitory and/or excitatory receptive fields were found for cells in lateral reticulated area which usually showed long after-discharge. Most of SMT cells received inputs from $A{\delta}$ and C afferent fiber types. These results suggest that sensory neurons in the rat SMT may have different functional roles according to their location in the spinal cord in integrating and processing sensory inputs including noxious mechanical stimuli.
