1. Objectives: This study is aimed to develop the algorithm, which can help clinicians diagnose Soeumin's symptomology, based on the indexes such as dry mouth, water drinking, sweat, urine, appetite, digestion, and stool, etc. 2. Methods: This research analyzes the items of "Donguisusebowon(東醫壽世保元)" to reveal the inevitable and sequential indexes of Soeumin's symptomology diagnosis, in order of exterior-interior pattern differentiation, favorable-unfavorable pattern differentiation, and mild-severe-dangerous-urgent pattern differentiation. 3. Results and Conclusions: 1) 1st step: Soeumin's exterior pattern and interior pattern are differentiated in terms of heat and cold, respectively. Stool and digestion are used to confirm the difference. 2) 2nd step: The existence of sweat is used to find out that an exterior pattern is with or without favor, while the indexes of stool, dry mouth, and generalized pain are used to identify an interior pattern with or without favor. 3) 3rd step: The favorably exterior-heat pattern can be either mild or severe by the indexes of cold-heat, stool, tidal fever, and manic raving, panting and straight looking, while the unfavorably exterior-heat pattern can be either dangerous or urgent by the ones of cold-heat, stool, and urine. And, the favorably interior-cold pattern can be either mild or severe by the indexes of stuffiness and fullness, jaundice, and edema, while the unfavorably interior-cold pattern can be either mild or severe by the ones of vexation level.

Background Zygomaticomaxillary complex (ZMC) fractures mostly occur in the form of tripod fractures. The surgical field is accessed using a combination of three classic approaches. However, the subciliary incision may have unfavorable aesthetic results. Herein, the authors report the advantages of the extended transconjunctival approach (ETA) combined with T-bar screw reduction in minimizing scarring and complications for the treatment of ZMC fractures. Methods A total of 26 patients underwent ZMC reduction through the ETA and intraoral approach. A skin incision measuring roughly 5 to 8 mm in length was placed following the lateral canthal skin crease. After releasing the inferior crus of the lateral canthal tendon for canthotomy, the medial periosteum of the lateral orbital rim was preserved for canthal reattachment. A limited subperiosteal dissection and partial relaxing incision of the orbicularis oculi were performed to expose the fracture line of the inferior orbital rim and zygomaticofrontal suture. Reduction was performed using a T-bar screw through the transconjunctival incision and an elevator through the intraoral incision. Results The aesthetic and functional results were excellent. Successful reduction was achieved and the skin incision was less than 8 mm in 20 cases (76.9%). Only six patients had an additional skin incision (less than 5 mm) to achieve reduction. No cases of ectropion, entropion, or excessive scarring were noted. Conclusions The ETA using a T-bar screw is a useful method for maximizing aesthetic results in ZMC fractures, with the advantages of minimal scarring, faster recovery, and maintenance of pretarsal fullness.
Objectives: Chest pain presents diagnostic and therapeutic challenges because of its various etiologies. Many patients have chest pain from unknown causes and persistent chest pain in spite of standard treatment. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of a Korean herbal medicine called Pyungjinsujeom-san (PSS) in relieving chest pain. Methods: We reviewed the electronic medical records of patients who visited the Korean Medical Clinic of Cardiology at Kyunghee University Hospital at Gangdong from January 2009 to July 2019, with the chief complaint of chest pain and who were treated with PSS. The mean severity of chest pain measured on the Numerical Rating Scale was compared before and after the administration of PSS. Results: The mean severity of chest pain of 20 patients decreased significantly from 6.80±1.61 to 1.35±0.9 after taking PSS (p<0.001). Most patients had symptoms of phlegm and food retention, including indigestion, postprandial fullness, and epigastric pain. Conclusions: These results suggest that PSS may be effective in relieving chest pain from various causes, particularly in patients with symptoms of phlegm and food retention.

This study was conducted to investigate the incidence and related factors of farming tool-machinery injuries developed in the Chonnam rural area in 1992. A total of 9,068 persons (4,571men and 4,497women)were selected in a stratified cluster sampling manner, and interviewed individually to complete a structured questionnaire covering farmer characteristics, duration of farm working, annual income, kind of farming tools and machinery, type of injuries and medical care. The results were as follows : 1. The incidence rate of farming tool-machinery injuries was 63 per 1,000 persons over all, 73 in males and 54 in females. The age standardized incidence rate was 69 per 1,000 persons over all, 83 in males and 65 in females. 2. The associated factors with farming tool-machinery injuries in univariate analysis were sex, age, duration of farming and monthly income. The occurrence of injuries was higher in men than in woman, and the higher in high-income group than in the low-income group. 3. More men than woman were involved in trunk injuries and treated at the large scale medical care units such as hospitals, and they paid much higher medical fees. 4. The complaint rates for each item of farmers' syndrome in the injured group were higher than those of the non injured group in 'shoulder stiffness', 'sleeplessness', 'dizziness', and 'gastric fullness'. 5. When multiple logistic regression was applied to farming tool-machinery injuries, the significant variables were farmer's syndrome, age, and duration of farming in both males and females.
Attending the operation room is an essential part of surgical clerkships. Syncope or presyncopal attacks in the operation room may negatively affect students' learning and career development. This study set out to identify the prevalence of syncope and presyncopal attacks in the operation room during medical students' surgical clerkships. Data from 420 medical students (303 men and 117 women) in their 3rd year of clerkship were collected between 2014 and 2017. An anonymous questionnaire was distributed to assess the prevalence and degree of syncope and presyncopal symptoms. A total of 27% of the respondents had experienced syncope or presyncopal symptoms, 49.6% of the female students and 18.8% of the male students (p<0.001). Fifty students (43.5%) had been attending as observers at the time of the syncopal attack, while 65 students (56.5%) had been participating as assistants. Thirty-four students (29.6%) had recently eaten at the time of the syncopal attack, while 81 students (70.4%) had not recently eaten. Prodromal symptoms included the urge to sit down (21.2%), sweating (19.3%), nausea (16.9%), a feeling of warmth (13.3%), darkened vision (12.6%), yawning (11.7%), palpitation (11.0%), ear fullness (10.2%), black spots in one's vision (7.6%), and hyperventilation (7.1%). This study showed the prevalence of syncope and presyncopal symptoms in the operation room during surgical clerkships. For students' safety and effective clerkship learning, thorough proactive education on syncopal attacks is required.

The Diagnosis and Treatment of Jaundice According to the Morbid Pulse in the Chapter 15 of Synopsis of Golden Chamber sets forth the classification, symptom, method of treatment, formula, prognosis of jaundice. The contents of this chapter can be induced by(from) yellowing and jaundice These two disease patterns assume various aspects of disease cause, pathomechanism, symptom, prognosis, and treatment. Jaundice was at first classified into liquor jaundice, dietary irregularly jaundice, black jaundicem abd sextual taxation jaundice, later classified into liquor jaundice, dietary irregularly jaundice, black jaundice, sextual tatation jaundice, and yellow sweat. the disease cause and pathomechanism of jaundice are said to be said to be due to the damp-heat, which is attacked with the evil of wind and dampness to affect the spleen-stomach and the liver. and to the inveterate drinking, damage by food, sextual taxation jaundice, sextual taxation, and vacuity taxation. This chapter mainly refers to jaundice as damp-heat, so that it lays down fundamental principles of clear heat and disinhibit dampness. In the prognosis of jaundice, ingibited urination shows symptoms of jaundice, and neither urination nor damp-heat develops symptoms of jaundice. and jaundice with thirst is difficult to cure, and that the symptoms of the abdominal fullness is also difficult to cure, while jaundice without thirst is ease to cure. Of the 18 days of suffering from jaundice, the symptoms of jaundice get better before and after 10 days. I think, however, that getting worse of its symptoms makes more meaningful clinically.
Impulse of ki refers to palpitation around the navel, it is mostly caused by impairment of yang due to erroneous sweating, deficiency of the spleen yang. Behcet's syndrome caused by prolonged damp-heat and pathogenic germs. Its symptoms are characterized by conjunctival congestion, blue canthus and ulceration of the oral cavity, restlessness all the time, etc. It is advisable to follow the therapeutic principles of clearing away heat and drying damp, detoxicating and sterilizing. Lily disease is one of the emotional disease. It caused by yin deficiency of the heart and lung, found in mental depression or convalescence after a critical disease. Its symptoms are characterized by restlessness, reticence, insomnia, failure to walk, poor appetite, a subjective hot or cold, bitter taste and dark urine. It is advisable to follow the therapeutic principle of nourishing yin to clear away heat. Cholera refers to the disease marked by sudden severe vomiting and diarrhea, and colic of the heart and the abdomen. It is mostly caused by deficiency of the ki in the middle-energizer, emotional stress, etc. It is characterized by such symptoms as sudden severe vomiting and diarrhea, restlessness, etc. It is advisable to follow the therapeutic principles of warming yang and removing toxic substances, and strengthening the spleen and stomach. Heat invasion of blood chamber due to affection of the exterior pathogens, pathogenic heat invading the blood in deficiency and fighting with the blood. Its symptoms are marked by fever, feeling of the fullness, etc. There are deficiency of blood, hot blood and stasis of blood. The different therapeutic treatment should be taken according to different types thereof.

This paper presents an approach for rate control by adaptively selecting macroblock modes in video coding. The problem of rate control has been investigated by many authors where quantizer level is adjustedbased on the buffer fullness. The proposed approach is different fron the previous ones [4] id that it finds the optimal decision curve rather than finding a set of the modes. Proposed algorithm extends the coding decision options for rate control to motion/no-motion compensation as well as inter/intra decisions. Instead of having a fixed motion/no-notion compensation or inter/intra decision curve, one can utilize an adaptive decision curvebased on the characteristics of input frames so that the PSNR at a given bit rate is maximized. Therefore, the proposed approach provides better rate control than simple quantizer feedback approach interns of visual quality. The curve is obtained by utilizing simulated annealing optimization technique. Thealgorithm is implemented and simulations are compared with other approaches within H.261 video codec.
Soft X-ray photography was used to study some characters of seeds, such as fullness, damage by blight and harmful insects and degree of mechanical damages, degree of development of embryos and endosperms, size and position of cotylendons, existence and position of twin seed. Thirty nine species of woody plants (31 angiosperms and 8 gymnosperms)and four species of herbs were examined in this study. The results showed that through the mechanism of the selective sensitivity of seed structure of soft X-ray, seed characters mentioned above could be recognized regardless of size of seeds and thickness of seed coat. We concluded that it is possible to use soft X-ray photography reliably to find out the various characters of seeds.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the softening effect of cellulase-treated cotton fabric and the damage on the fabric which is accompanied by the treatemnt. Cotton fabric is treated with cellulase under various concentrations and time, and the weight loss, hand values (by KES), surface characteristics, moisture regain, tensile strength, copper number and intrinsic viscosity of the treated samples and untreated samples have been compared. The results are as follows: 1. The weight loss of cotton fabric increased as the concentration of cellulase and the treating time increased. 2. The enzyme treatment had little effect on the stiffness of the treated samples but anti- drape stiffness decreased for the treated samples. Fullness and softness of the treated samples increased and crispness decreased with the lowest level reaching after two hours of the treatment for all concentrations. Scrooping feeling of the treated samples increased and flexibility with soft feeling increased as the treating time and the concentration of cellulase increased. 3. Moisture regain of the samples decreased as the treating time and the concentration of the enzyme increased and the treated fabric showed cracks on the fiber surface, and much surface fibers on the fabric have been removed after the treatment. 4. Tensile strength of the samples decreased as the treating time and as the concentration of cellulase increased, and the copper number increased while the intrinsic viscosity decreased as the treating time increased, but cellulase concentration had a little effect.
