Parallel Connected High Frequency AC Link Inverters Based on Full Digital Control

  • This paper presents a full digital control strategy for parallel connected modular inverter systems. Each modular inverter is a high frequency (HF) AC link inverter which is composed of a HF inverter and a HF transformer followed by a cycloconverter. To achieve equal sharing of the load current and to suppress the circulating currents among the modules, a three-loop control strategy, consisting of a common output voltage regulation (OVR) loop, individual circulating current suppression (CCS) loops and individual inner current tracking (ICT) loops, is proposed. The ICT loops are implemented with predictive current control from which high precision current tracking can be obtained. The effectiveness of the proposed control strategy is verified by simulation and experimental results from parallel connected two full-bridge HF AC link inverter modules.

  • In this paper, the current characteristics of the system composed of R.L.C. load and series bridge inverter is investigated through the results of computer simulation and experiment to look for the good properties of A.C. motor driven by the above inverter. The time schedule of conventional bridge inverter and the parameters such as resistance and damping coefficient of load is changed for good results. It is possible to get the load current of similar sine wave under various conditions.

  • 이단 전력변환에 따른 시스템 효율의 감소문제를 해결하기 위해서 배터리 구동 전자레인지를 위한 직렬 공진형 풀 브릿지 인버터 회로를 제안한다. 이 회로는 기존의 HVT(High Voltage Transformer) 방식과 비교해서 콤팩트 한 크기를 가지며 무게 또한 가볍다. 또한, 주파수 제어로 전자레인지의 출력단계를 조절할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 회로 동작을 이해하기 위해서 동작원리를 자세히 설명하였다. 또한, 1[kW] 소비전력을 갖는 프롯타입 인버터 회로를 제작하고 시험을 통하여 동작을 확인하였다.

  • In this paper are described the indirect induction healed boiler and induction boated hot air producer using the voltage-fed series resonant high-frequency inverter which can operate in the frequency range from 20[kHz]to 50[kHz]. A specially designed induction heater, which is composed of laminated stainless assembly with many tiny holes and interconnected spot welding points between stainless plates, is inserted into the ceramic type vessel with external working coil. This working coil is connected to the inverter and turbulence fluid through this induction heater to moving fluid generates in the vessel. The operating performances of this unique appliance in next generation and its effectiveness are evaluated and discussed from a practical point of view.

Design of the power generator system for photovoltaic modules

  • In this paper, a dc-dc power converter scheme with the FPGA based technology is proposed to apply for solar power system which has many features such as the good waveform, high efficiency, low switching losses, and low acoustic noises. The circuit configuration is designed by the conventional control type converter circuit using the isolated dc power supply. This new scheme can be more widely used for industrial power conversion system and many other purposes. Also, I proposed an efficient photovoltaic power interface circuit incorporated with a FPGA based DC-DC converter and a sine-pwm control method full-bridge inverter. The FPGA based DC-DC converter operates at high switching frequency to make the output current a sine wave, whereas the full-bridge inverter operates at low switching frequency which is determined by the ac frequency. As a result, we can get a 1.72% low THD in present state using linear control method. Moreover, we can use stepping control method, we can obtain the switching losses by Sp measured as 0.53W. This paper presents the design of a single-phase photovoltaic inverter model and the simulation of its performance.

  • In order to solve the problem of system efficiency reduced on account of two stage power conversion, we propose a series resonant full bridge inverter circuit for battery-fed microwave oven. This circuit has both a compact size and a light weight. Also, a frequency control adjusts power levels of the microwave oven. Operational principles are explained in detail. A proto-type inverter circuit with 1[kW] power consumption is built and tested for verifying the operation.

  • This paper is research result for a development of solar cell silicon ingot glowing(SCSIG) PWM converter system for 120[kW] 3[kA]. The system include 3-phase AC-DC rectifier diode converter of input voltage AC 460[V] and 60[Hz], DC-AC single phase full bridge PWM inverter of high frequency, AC-DC single-phase full wave rectifier using center-tapped of transformer for low voltage 50[V] and large current 3,000[A], carbon resistor load 0.2 [$m{\Omega}$]. PWM switching frequency for IGBT inverter control set 15KHz. The suggested researching contents are designed data sheets of power converter system, PSIM simulation, operating characteristics and analysis results of developed SCSIG system.

Controller Design for a Quick Charger System Suitable for Electric Vehicles

  • This paper proposes a new design for quick battery charger systems for electric vehicles that consists of a three-phase inverter and a full-bridge converter which use the phase-shift method. The 3-phase inverter controls the input and DC-link voltage by use of a current controller and a voltage controller. The full-bridge converter transfers the DC-link voltage to a fixed output voltage. Designs for the output-side converter and controller for improved performance are proposed in this paper. Design schemes for the filter and controller of an input-side inverter are also presented. Furthermore, the paper proposes a compensation method for the offset current that is caused by switch failure and circuit problems. Simulations and experiments have been performed on a 50kW-battery charger system that is suitable for vehicles. The presented results verify the validity of the proposed method and the superiority of the system over conventional methods.

  • This paper presents a novel circuit topology of a high efficiency single-phase power conditioner. This power conditioner is composed of time-sharing sinewave absolute pulse width modulated boost chopper with a bypass diode in the first power processing stage and time-sharing sinewave pulse width modulated full-bridge inverter in the second power processing stage operated by time-sharing dual mode pulse pattern control scheme. The unique operating principle of the two power processing stage with time-sharing dual mode sinewave modulation scheme is described with a design example. This paper proposes also a sinewave tracking voltage controlled soft switching PWM boost chopper with a passive auxiliary edge-resonant snubber. The new conceptual operating principle of this novel power conditioner related to new energy utilization system is presented and discussed through the experimental results.
