연료전지 자동차 열방출 시스템의 설계 (Design of a Heat Release System for Fuel Cell Vehicles)

  • There is a close relation between the heat generation in the fuel cell stack and the fuel cell performance. In PEM fuel Gell vehicles, the stack coolant temperature is about $65^{\circ}C$, which is far lower than that for general automobile engine. Therefore, it is hard to release heat generated in the stack by using a radiator of limited size because of the reduced temperature difference between the coolant and the ambient air. In this study, indirect stack cooling system using $CO_2$ heat pump was designed and its stack cooling performance in releasing heat to the ambient was investigated. This work focuses on a series of processes that grasp the relation among the fuel cell power, the radiator capacity and the stack temperature. The purpose of this work is to find out a way to properly release sufficient amount of heat through the finite sized radiator, so that the stack power general ion can not be deteriorated due to the stack temperature increase. The optimization between the compressor power consumption and the fuel cel1 output power can be carried out to maximize the performance of fuel cell system.

  • 우수한 성능의 연료전지 시스템을 개발하기 위해서는 연료전지의 주변장치 및 핵심부품을 중점적으로 연구해야 한다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 연료전지 시스템 내에서 배열 회수를 목적으로 사용될 원심펌프에 대해서 연구를 하였다. 본 연구를 위해 임펠러 수가 4개인 원심펌프를 설계, 제작하여 실험을 하였고, 상용모델(IWAKI) 결과와 비교, 분석하였다. 또한 임펠러 수가 4, 6, 8개인 원심펌프를 설계하여 CFD 해석기법을 통해 해석해 보았다. 실험결과와 전산해석은 동일한 조건하에 진행 되었으며 정량적인 차이를 비교 하였을 경우 30[%] 이내의 차이를 보여주었다. 또한 실험을 통해 얻어진 결과는 전산해석을 수행하는데 중요한 자료로 사용될 수 있었고 향후, 실험에 대한 정확성 향상 및 CFD 해석에서 가정한 부분을 줄인다면 더 정확한 결과를 확보할 수 있을 것이다.

  • 디젤엔진의 대체 연료로 연구되고 있는 청정연료인 DME는 디젤엔진의 중요한 문제 중 하나인 배기가스를 줄일 수 있으며, 세탄가와 산소함유량이 매우 높다. DME는 LPG와 유사한 특성을 가진 연료로 LPG 유통 인프라를 사용할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 플런저식 고압펌프의 성능평가를 위해 토출된 질량유량에 대한 기초 데이터베이스 구축을 목표로 하였으며, 커먼레일 압력과 모터 회전속도를 변화시켜 플런저식 고압펌프의 질량유량을 분석하였다. 실험 조건은 커먼레일 압력을 300 bar, 400 bar, 500 bar 로 변경하였고, 모터 회전 속도를 300 rpm에서 1000 rpm 으로 증가시켰다. 실험 결과 두 경우 모두 질량유량이 증가하였다.

  • A nuclear fuel test loop (after below, FTL) is installed in IR1 of an irradiation hole in HANARO for testing neutron irradiation characteristics and thermo hydraulic characteristics of a fuel loaded in a light water power reactor (PWR) or a heavy water power reactor (CANDU). There is an in-pile section (IPS) and an out-pile section (OPS) in this test loop. When HANARO is normally operated, the fuel loaded in the IPS has a nuclear reaction heat generated by a neutron irradiation. To remove the generated heat and to maintain an operation condition of the test fuel, a main cooling water system (MCWS) is installed in the OPS of the FTL. The pump can not continuously suck a fluid and not pressurize the fluid during a cold function test. To verify the flow characteristics of the MCWS, a flow net work analysis has been conducted. When the higher elevation pipelines wholly filled with coolant, it was confirmed through the analysis results that the pump pressurized the coolant normally. And the analysis results described the system characteristics with operation temperature and pressure variation satisfactorily.

열펌프-잠열축열시스템을 이용한 온돌의 난방특성 (Heating Characteristics of Ondol using Heat Pump-Latent Heat Storage System)

  • In these days the hot water circulating Ondol using the fossil fuel boiler is the heating system for the most of the Korean residents. Then it is installed without the heat storage medium in the Ondol heating layer, but the Korean traditional Ondol had been composed with the heat storage medium. The Ondol room without heat storage medium could not be comfortable because the room air temperature is not only changed unstably but also it has a defect too much fuel consumption. Therefore in this study the heat pump-latent heat storage Ondol as the new type of Ondol system was developed to solve these problems mentioned above, and the COP of the heat pump (Coefficient Of Performance), the latent heat storage characteristics in the new type of Ondol system and the temperature variation in the Ondol room with the ambient temperature were analyzed.

승용차 폐열 회수용 유기 랭킨 사이클 성능 분석 (Performance analysis of an organic Rankine cycle for waste heat recovery of a passenger car)

  • Applicability of organic Rankine cycle for a passenger car with 3.5 L gasoline engine to convert low grade waste heat to useful shaft power has been numerically studied. Working fluid is R134a, and the Rankine cycle is composed of boiler for recovering engine cooling water heat, super heater for recovering exhaust gas heat, scroll expander for converting waste heat to shaft power, condenser for heat emission, internal heat exchanger, and feed pump. Assuming efficiencies of 90% for the heat exchangers, 75% for the scroll expander, and 80% for the feed pump, the Rankine cycle efficiency of 5.53% was calculated at the vehicle speed of 120 km/hr. Net expander shaft output after subtracting the power required to run the pump was 3.22 kW, which was equivalent to 12.1% improvement in fuel consumption. About the same level of improvement in the fuel consumption was obtained over the vehicle speed range of 60 km/hr~120 km/hr.

  • The effects of channel area on the performance of regenerative type fuel pump were numerically studied by commercial CFD code (ANSYS CFX-10). To examine the effects of channel area, the shapes of the side channel and blade were simplified. The channel area affected the flow characteristics of the internal recirculation flow between the side channel and the blade groove and also made a difference in the overall performance. These loss mechanism with circulation flow were adopted as a loss coefficient in the performance prediction program. The loss coefficient was newly derived from the results of calculations with different channel area, and compared with the experimental results in the reference paper and used to modify the performance prediction program. The circulation flow characteristics with different channel area, which is related with loss mechanism, were also discussed with the results of 3-dimensional flow calculations.

  • The integration of FC (Fuel Cell) and GSHP (Ground Source Heat Pump) hybrid system could produce a synergistic advantage in thermal and electric way. This study intends to analyse the economical aspect of a FC integrated GSHP hybrid system compared to the conventional system which is consisted with a boiler and a chiller. Based on the hourly simulation, the study indicated that GSHP system and FC+GSHP hybrid system could reduce the energy consumption on a building. The method of the economic assessment has been based on IEA ECBCS Annex 54 Subtask C SPB(Simple Payback) method. The SPB was calculated using the economic balanced year of the alternative system over the conventional (reference) system. The SPB of the alternative systems (GSHP and FC+GSHP) with 50% initial incentive was 4.06 and 26.73 year respectively while the SPB without initial incentive of systems was 10.71 and 57.76 year.

통계적 방법을 이용한 연료승압펌프의 신뢰도 예측 (Reliability Prediction of a Fuel Boost Pump using Statistical Methods)

  • 항공용 연료계통의 핵심부품인 연료승압펌프(FBP)의 신뢰도를 예측/평가하기 위하여 운용중에 지속적으로 발생되는 고장자료에 근거하여 고장추세분포를 도출하는데 Weibul Distribution 형태의 통계학적인 방법(Statistical Methods)을 사용하였다. 이를 토대로 하여 고장 자료분포를 시각적으로 분석하여 신뢰성 예측을 하였다. 분석결과, 형상모수(${\beta}$), 척도모수(${\eta}$) 및 평균고장시간(MTTF)을 산출하였다. 결과로부터 주요 고장원인이 기계부품의 마모나 노후화로 인하여 발생하는 마모고장기이며 산출된 평균고장시간 이전에 예방정비를 수행해야 사전에 고장을 방지할 수 있음을 알 수 있다.
