Fast Light-Off of Catalyst using Cranking Exhaust Gas Ignition (시동 배기가스 점화기술을 이용한 촉매의 예열시간 단축)

  • In order to satisfy the ULEV emissions regulation, fast light-off of a catalyst is essential for reduction of HC and CO emissions during the cold start. Cranking Exhaust Gas Ignition(CEGI) method developed in this study showed that the catalyst reaches the light-off temperature in a few seconds. The CEGI stops the ignition signal for a few seconds during the cranking period, so the unburned fuel-air mixture bypasses the combustion chamber and flows through the exhaust manifold. When the unburned mixture reaches two glow plugs installed upstream of the catalyst, it burns and releases the thermal energy to heat up the catalyst, In the FTP-75 vehicle tests, the CEGI showed that the exhaust emissions reduced by 47.7% for THC and by 88.6% for CO in the cold-transient phase of the test.

  • 오늘날 네트워크의 대역특이 커지고 동시에 실시간 처리를 요하는 다양한 멀티미디어 애플리케이션들이 생성되고 있다. 그러나 문제는 고속 LAN 환경에서 많은 사용자들이 멀티미디어 애플리케이션들을 비롯한 다양한 네트워크 서비스들을 사용하고 있지만, WAN 환경으로의 선로로 전송하는데 있어서의 차별화가 없다는 것이다 따라서 경성 실시간(hard real time) 처리를 요하는 멀티미디어 데이터 들의 시간 제한을 지켜줄 수 없고, 비교적 지연시간의 제약을 받지 않는 HTML, FTP, e-Mail, 등의 연성 실시간(soft real time) 처리를 요하는 애플리케이션들에 대해 불필요한 대역폭 낭비를 일으킨다. 이러한 문제를 최소화하기 위해 본 논문에서는 엔터프라이즈 네트워크 등과 같은 고속 네트워크 망을 사용하는 환경에서 다양한 멀티미디어 데이터 패킷들을 고정적으로 할당된 대역폭에 따라 우선적으로 서비스되도록 하여 지연시간 제한을 최대한 보장해 주기 위한 리눅스 상에서 구현된 QoServer 개발 기술을 소개한다.

  • In order to meet the stringent emission regulations, fast light-off of a catalyst is essential to reduce the HC and CO emissions during cold start.   • 슈퍼컴퓨터 사용자들은 FTP(File Transfer Protocol)을 이용해서 파일을 전송한다. 전송되는 데이터들은 여러 분야에 걸친 연구관련 자료로서 고성능 슈퍼컴퓨터에 의한 연산 처리가 요구되며 그 결과들은 연구결과에 많은 영향을 준다. 사용자들의 연구 데이터가 담긴 대용량 파일의 전송할 때 성능향상 방법을 적용하고 네트워크 상태에 따라 QoS(Quality of Service)를 할당한다면 데이터의 손실률을 최소화하고 신뢰성 있는 네트워크 상태로 인하여 사용자들은 연산처리 결과가 더욱 정확하다고 신뢰할 수 있다. 본 고에서는 대용량 파일을 전송 할 때 성능을 향상시키는 방법과 QoS 적용 방법을 알아본다.

  • 유비쿼터스 컹퓨팅 환경에서 모바일 디바이스는 Service Controller의 역할을 수행한다. 그러나 모바일 디바이스를 이용하여 원격지 리소스에 접근하는 것은 제약이 따른다. Desktop에서 흔히 쓰이는 FTP와 같은 원격지 접속 기술은 모바일 디바이스에서는 사용 할 수 없다. 또 다른 방안으로 모바일 디바이스에서 Java Application을 이용하여 원격지 컴퓨터에 접속하는 방법이 있다. 그러나 이 또한 Java Security 문제를 해결해야 한다. 모바일 디바이스에서의 Java Security 문제는 그 응용 범위나 필요성에 비해 아직까지 구현 모델은 없다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 Desktop상에서 구현하는 Java Security 접근 방법 모델을 이용하여 모바일 디바이스에서 웹 브라우저를 통해 Java Application으로 원격지 컴퓨터에 접근하는 방법을 구현한다.

  • As Internet spreads rapidly, the industrial structure is changing to a new paradigm. The previous EDI system was asked to change and WEB EDI, E-Mail EDI, FTP EDI etc. which are based on the internet appeared. These days the XML/EDI which has XML document appeared. The XML/EDI consider advantages and disadvantages of VAN/EDI and EDI which based on the internet. Also, EDI system has to assure a safe exchange between sender and receiver. But, the internet has security problems because it uses a open TCP/IP protocol. Although there are many methods for security, it is being studied with XML concept. On this paper, we will suppose the XML/EDI system model with XML Signature, and build a procedure of electronic signature and delivery of document between sender and receiver.

  • We discuss simulation results concerning the performance of the TCP protocol when running over high-speed HFC networks. Hybrid Fiber Coaxial are likely to provide fast and cost effective sup-port to a variety of applications including Video on demand, interactive computer games, and internet-type applications such as Webbrowsing, ftp, and telephony. Since most of these applications, use TCP as the transport later protocol, the key to their success largely depends on the effectiveness of the TCP protocol. In all simulation scenarios the TCP traffic is maxed with some background traffic whose level is taken as a variable parameter. Both the background traffic and TCP traffic are either unshaped, or shaped according to the GCRA algorithm. The effect of the background traffic on the TCP protocol performance is discussed varying the buffering capacity with nodes as well as the peak bit rate that each TCP connection is allowed to use.

  • Usage of LTE(Long Term Evolution) technology is expanded to industrial an emergency service field beyond commercial communications of mobile internet focused on smartphone. In this paper, transmission performance of LTE technology be supplied to various service area is analyzed on the level of application traffics. Performance is evaluated with compter simulation based NS(Network Simulator)-2, CBR(Constant Bit Rate), VBR(Variable Bit Rate File) traffic is used as simulation target. Results and methods of this paper can be used for research and developmemt of LTE based networks.

BioStore: A Repository System for Registering and Distributing Public Biology Databases

  • Although abundant biology data have been accumulated in public biology databases, such as GenBank and PIR, few easy-interface services are provided for users to access or update them. We have developed a system, named BioStore, that is composed of several programs to aid users to not only access public data but also share their own data easily. The service can be used for maintaining a local database as a repository of raw data files of several public databases and distributing the data files to other users. Currently, BioStore manipulates major bio-databases and will expand to include more databases and more useful interfaces.

  • Recently, the internal combustion engines have focused on reducing both the CO2 emissions in order to cope with severe regulations for greenhouse effect. Therefore, various new technologies have been developed in many countries. Among them, the cooling system is spotlighted because it has great effect on fuel efficiency. However, the present engine cooling system is almost same as one of the 50 years ago. The needs for high performance and compact size make it important to improve engine cooling system, down-sizing and control method of coolant flow. Thus, low fuel consumption technology such as control and synthetic management of cooling system was necessary to satisfy with these needs. In this study, we applied electric thermostat to improve the fuel economy. The fuel consumption was compared after driving FTP-75 mode on both conditions which were with a conventional wax thermostat and with a electric thermostat. The coolant temperature of opening the electric thermostat is higher.
