Vessels can operate with their Automatic Identification System (AIS) turned off, prompting the development of strategies to identify them. Among these, utilizing satellites to collect radio frequency (RF) data in the absence of AIS has emerged as the most effective and practical approach. The purpose of this study is to develop a matching algorithm for RF with AIS data and find the RF's applicability to classify a suspected ship. Thus, a matching procedure utilizing three RF datasets and AIS data was employed to identify ships in the Yellow Sea and the Korea Strait. The matching procedure was conducted based on the proximity to AIS points, ensuring accuracy through various distance-based sections, including 2 km, 3 km, and 6 km from the AIS-based estimated points. Within the RF coverage, the matching results from the first RF dataset and AIS data identified a total of 798 ships, with an overall matching rate of 78%. In the cases of the second and third RF datasets, 803 and 825 ships were matched, resulting in an overall matching rate of 84.3% and 74.5%, respectively. The observed results were partially influenced by differences in RF and AIS coverage. Within the overlapped region of RF and AIS data, the matching rate ranged from 80.2% to 98.7%, with an average of 89.3%, with no duplicate matches to the same ship.
This study proposes and evaluates a methodology for deriving the rainfall intensity- duration-frequency relationship for durations less than 10 minutes used for designing drainage systems in small urban catchments and roads. The method proposed in this study is based on the Moupfouma distribution, which has been evaluated by applying it to the rainfall data at the meteorological Seoul station. Summarizing the results is as follows: (1) The frequency analysis results using minutely rainfall data was found not to be corresponded with the extrapolation of that by the Ministry of Construction and Transportation (2000). (2) The annual maxima minutely rainfall data derived by applying the Moupfouma distribution to the accumulated 60-minute data was found to well reproduce the characteristics of those of observed. (3) The rainfall intensity-duration-frequency relationship derived by applying the Moufouma distribution to the accumulated 50-minute data and hourly data was found insignificant.
The existing flooding Probabilistic Safety Analysis(PSA) was updated to reflect the Korean plant specific operating experience data into the flooding frequency to improve the PSA quality. Both the Nuclear Power Experience(NPE) database and the Korea Nuclear Pipe Failure Database(NuPIPE) databases were used in this study, and from these databases, only the Pressurized Water Reactor(PWR) data were used for the flooding frequencies of the flooding areas in the primary auxiliary building. With these databases and a Bayesian method, the flooding frequencies for the flooding areas were estimated. Subsequently, the Core Damage Frequency(CDF) for the flooding PSA of the Ulchin(UCN) unit 3 and 4 plants based on the Korean Standard Nuclear Power Plant(KSNP) internal full-power PSA model was recalculated. The evaluation results showed that sixteen flooding events are potentially significant according to the screening criterion, while there were two flooding events exceeding the screening criterion of the existing UCN 3 and 4 flooding PSA. The result was compared with two kinds of cases: (1) the flooding frequency and CDF from the method of the existing flooding PSA with the PWR and Boiled Water Reactor(BWR) data of the NPE database and the Maximum Likelihood Estimate(MLE) method and (2) the flooding frequency and CDF with the NPE database(PWR and BWR data), NuPIPE database, and a Bayesian method. From the comparison, a difference in CDF results was revealed more clearly between the CDF from this study and case (2) than between case (1) and case (2). That is, the number of flooding events exceeding the screen criterion further increased when only the PWR data were used for the primary auxiliary building than when the Korean specific data were used.

In this paper, We are suggested methods of feature extraction in molecular images. The result of image transform DWT examination by suggested method, we are obtained as follows. 1-level and 2-levels of decomposition results showed the composition of the low frequency region. But, 3-level decomposition results did not appear in the data component is almost. Observed not with the naked eye is not, but the 3-level output data values of the results were decomposed. We are printed the horizontal and vertical directions of low-frequency region of the data, the high frequency region of the horizontal and vertical data, and diagonal high frequency region of the horizontal and vertical directions data. If the output data using molecular imaging and CT, PET, MR imaging will be compared with the data.

A wide-area protection intelligent technique has been used to improve a reliability in power systems and to prevent a blackout. Nowadays, voltage and current phasor estimation has been executed by GPS-based synchronized PMU, which has become an important way of wide-area blackout protection for the prevention of expending faults in power systems. As this technique has the difficulties in collecting and sharing of information, there have been used a FNET method for the wide-area intelligent protection. This technique is very useful for the prediction of the inception fault and for the prevention of fault propagation with accurate monitoring frequency and frequency deviation. It consists of FDRs and IMS. It is well known that FNET can detect the dynamic behavior of system and obtain the real-time frequency information. Therefore, FDRs must adopt a optimal frequency estimation method that is robust to noise and fault. In this paper, we present comparative studies for the frequency estimation method using IRDWT(improved recursive discrete wavelet transform), for the frequency estimation method using FRDWT(fast recursive discrete wavelet transform). we used the Republic of Korea 345kV power system modeling data by EMTP-RV. The user-defined arbitrary waveforms were used in order to evaluate the performance of the proposed two kinds of RDWT. Also, the frequency variation data in various range, both large range and small range, were used for simulation. The simulation results showed that the proposed frequency estimation technique using FRDWT can be the optimal frequency measurement method applied to FDRs.
The aim of this study was to investigate the association dining-out frequency, nutritional intake level and health risk factors related to metabolic syndrome among Korean women. The data in this study were obtained from the Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey in 2013 (KNHANES VI). Sample of Korean women (n=3,413), aged over 20 with biochemical, dietary and health screening data, was divided into three groups according to dining-out frequency; "Rarely" (< 1 time / week), "Occasionally" (2~4 times / week) and "Frequently" (${\geq}5times/week$). The results showed that there were significantly different intake levels in energy, water, protein, fat, calcium, sodium and vitamin A according to the dining-out frequency. Each dining-out frequency group was significantly associated to obesity and Low HDL Cholesterolemia. In conclusion, this study found significant association between dining-out frequency, nutritional intake and health risk factors among Korean women. Further studies are necessary to examine subdividing into age and dining-out frequency and health risk factors related to metabolic syndrome among Korean.
The spectral representation method is a quick and versatile tool for the generation of spatially variable, response-spectrum-compatible simulations to be used in the nonlinear seismic response evaluation of extended structures, such as bridges. However, just as recorded data, these simulated accelerations require processing, but, unlike recorded data, the reasons for their processing are purely numerical. Hence, the criteria for the processing of acceleration simulations need to be tied to the effect of processing on the structural response. This paper presents a framework for processing acceleration simulations that is based on seismological approaches for processing recorded data, but establishes the corner frequency of the high-pass filter by minimizing the effect of processing on the response of the structural system, for the response evaluation of which the ground motions were generated. The proposed two-step criterion selects the filter corner frequency by considering both the dynamic and the pseudo-static response of the systems. First, it ensures that the linear/nonlinear dynamic structural response induced by the processed simulations captures the characteristics of the system's dynamic response caused by the unprocessed simulations, the frequency content of which is fully compatible with the target response spectrum. Second, it examines the adequacy of the selected estimate for the filter corner frequency by evaluating the pseudo-static response of the system subjected to spatially variable excitations. It is noted that the first step of this two-fold criterion suffices for the establishment of the corner frequency for the processing of acceleration time series generated at a single ground-surface location to be used in the seismic response evaluation of, e.g. a building structure. Furthermore, the concept also applies for the processing of acceleration time series generated by means of any approach that does not provide physical considerations for the selection of the corner frequency of the high-pass filter.

In this paper, the performance of joint equalizer and phase-locked loop in underwater communications is analyzed. In the channel where the Doppler frequency exists, it is difficult to recover the transmitted data only by the equalizer. To compensate for the Doppler frequency, the phase-locked loop is used. For removing the time-varying multipath and the Doppler frequency simultaneously, the equalizer and the phase-locked loop operate jointly. Also, if the initial Doppler frequency error obtained by Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) is compensated, the convergence speed of the joint equalizer and phase-locked loop can be improved. To verify the performance, lake and sea experiments were conducted. As a result, it was showed that the joint equalizer and phase-locked loop converges sufficiently in the preamble (known data) period regardless of whether the Doppler frequency is compensated or not. And, the bit error in random data period is not occurred. However, we can increase the convergence speed of the equalizer more than twice through the compensation of Doppler frequency.

This study investigates the effect of sEMG sampling frequency on CNN learning performance at Korean finger number recognition application. Since the bigger sampling frequency of sEMG signals generates bigger size of input data and takes longer CNN's learning time. It makes making real-time system implementation more difficult and more costly. Thus, there might be appropriate sampling frequency when collecting sEMG signals. To this end, this work choose five different sampling frequencies which are 1,024Hz, 512Hz, 256Hz, 128Hz and 64Hz and investigates CNN learning performance with sEMG data taken at each sampling frequency. The comparative study shows that all CNN recognized Korean finger number one to five at the accuracy of 100% and CNN with sEMG signals collected at 256Hz sampling frequency takes the shortest learning time to reach the epoch at which korean finger number gestures are recognized at the accuracy of 100%.

This study assessed the impact of uncertainties in flood data on the results of flood frequency analysis for Han river basin. To meet this aim, this study quantified assessment focused on the index flood and quantile by regional flood frequency analysis using the flood data from 17 water level gauges in Han river basin. We analysed the results categorized by three cases according to the characteristics of the measured data. Firstly, we analyzed the regional flood frequency for the water level gauge in the Pyungchang river basin to investigate the impact of water level data. The results has the error of 0.240 with respect to the mean flood. Secondly, we examined the impact of uncertainty in measurement data generated by the application of rating on the results of regional flood frequency analysis. We have compared the results by applying the rating estimated for each year to the one by the recently estimated rating. The results showed that the mean error has 0.246 in terms of the mean flood. Finally, we have inferred the regional flood frequency analysis results with the regulated flow in the downstream area of dams. The regulated specific discharge in the downstream area of dams controlled by dam operation showed a large difference to the estimated specific discharge in the downstream area of dams by extension of the natural specific discharge in the upstream area using the regionalization method.
