A study on the coaxial-cable propagation characteristic to Frequency bands 12GHz ${\sim}$ 20GHz (12GHz${\sim}$20GHz 주파수대역에 관한 동축케이블 내 전파특성에 관한 연구)

  • 일반적으로 고주파인 위성신호를 수신하려면 전송로상의 손실이 생기는데 이러한 손실을 거치지 않고 위성신호를 직접수신하여 고주파대역의 신호의 손실을 줄이기 일반적으로는 도파관을 사용하여야 하나 동관을 이용하여 12GHz${\sim}$20GHz 대역을 통과하는 전파의 특성을 측정하였고 11.71GHz${\sim}$12.01GHz 대에서는 측정이 되지 않는 차단 주파수 현상을 보였으며 13GHz 이상의 주파수에서는 원하는 신호가 측정되었다. 측정 장비로는 Aglient 사의 Network Analyzer에서 11GHz 이상의 신호를 만들어 각각 5C HFBT, 10C HFBT Cable과 동관으로 보낸후 Spectrum Analyzer로 들어오는 신호를 측정하였으며 이에 따른 전송 특성을 분석 하였다.

  • Most of all, DTC drive is very simple in its implementation because it needs only two hysteresis comparator and switching vector table for both flux and torque control. The amplitude of hysteresis band greatly influences on the drive performance such as flux and torque ripple and inverter switching frequency. In this paper the influence of the amplitudes of flux and torque hysteresis bands and sampling time of control program on the torque and flux ripples are investigated. Simulation results confirm the superiority of the DTC under the proposed method over the conventional DTC.

  • It is widely known that the ultra high frequency (UHF) method that detects the electromagnetic wave of the PD pulses in the gas insulated space is one of the most competitive methods for its high sensitivity. From the above point of view, this paper describes the propagation characteristics of GIS PD signals measured with ultra wide band (UWB) GIS PD detecting system in which PD signals are detected into the dual UHF band. The UWB PD detection system consists of the UWB UHF coupler, the UWB low noise amplifier (LNA) and the oscilloscope. The dual bands for PD signals are 0.5-2GHz(full band) and 1-2GHz(high band). As results, propagation characteristics of GIS PD signals were measured in the mock-up GIS bus and it was found that the propagation characteristics of the high band showed a better result in accordance with the infernal configuration of the GIS bus than those of the full band.

  • Cognitive radio (CR) technique is a useful tool for improving spectrum utilization by detecting and using the vacant frequency bands while avoiding interference to the primary user. The sensing performance in a CR network can be improved by allowing some CR users to perform cooperative spectrum sensing. In this paper, we propose a new sensing algorithm that utilizes an adaptive energy threshold for cooperative spectrum sensing in which a changeable energy threshold is adopted by the CR users for improving local sensing performance. Through the proposed scheme, the reliability of global decision can be enhanced mainly due to the improvement in local sensing performance.

  • In this paper, a homogeneous dual composite right/left-handed (D-CRLH) transmission line (TL) is proposed by using a defected ground structure (DGS) on the ground plane. In order to satisfy a homogeneity condition of metamaterial, a subwavelength unit cell is designed by way of a spiral DGS and a meander stub. From a dispersion diagram, it is expected that the frequency bands for the left-handed (LH) property is 3.5 - 4.4 GHz. At 3.8 GHz in the LH band, backward propagating phenomenon is observed from full-wave analysis. The experimental results show that the proposed TL has a stop-band in 1.75 - 3.6 GHz.

  • This paper presents a novel iris recognition method using wavelet transform and curve simplification. One-dimensional signals, which are calculated over circles on the iris, are decomposed into a multiple frequency bands. Each decomposed signal is approximated by a piecewise linear curve connecting node points. The curve is simplified by progressively removing unimportant node points while keeping the shape of the curve. Finally, a small number of node points represent features of each signal. Experiment results show that the presented method results in good performance in various noise environments.

  • We present an innovative real-time laser welding monitoring technique employing the correlation analysis of the plasma plume optical emission generated during the process. The plasma optical radiation emitted during Nd:YAG laser welding of S45C steel samples has detected with a Photodiode and analyzed under different process conditions. The discrete DC voltage difference, filter methods and wavelet transform has been used to decompose the optical signal into various discrete series of sequences over different frequency bands. Considering that wavelet analysis can decompose the optical signals, extract the characteristic information of the signals and define the defects location accurately, it can be used to implement process-control of laser welding.

  • 본 논문에서는 다양한 주파수 튜닝이 가능한 직접변환방식을 이용한 Gm-C 능동필터 회로를 설계하였다. 설계된 필터는 집적회로를 튜닝하여 요구되는 기준주파수 및 대역폭과 이득을 만족시킬 수 있다. 필터에 사용된 OTA회로는 전달 트랜스컨덕턴스 값을 외부전압으로 제어할 수 있도록 설계하여 다양한 주파수대역에서 사용할 수 있다는 장점을 가진다. 설계된 필터는 ripple 전압을 최소화 하고 이득 값을 높일 수 있는 Elliptic 필터를 사용하였다. 집적화를 위하여 수동필터를 능동필터로 변환할 수 Gyrator 방식을 이용하였다. HSPICE 시뮬레이션 결과, 외부전압을 1.0V~1.9V까지 변화를 주었을 때 1.4MHz ~ 2.8MHz의 차단주파수의 조정이 가능하였고 소비전력은 4.5mW~20mW임을 측정하였다.

Vibronic Assignments of the $S_1 \rightarrow S_0$ Emission Spectrum of the Jet Cooled p-Fluorotoluene

  • The p-fluorotoluene was vibronically excited in a jet with a buffer gas He in a corona excited supersonic expansion. The vibronic emission spectrum of the jet cooled p-fluorotoluene in the transition of S1 → S0 has been recorded with a Fourier transform spectrometer in the uv region. The spectrum observed was analyzed to obtain accurate vibrational frequencies in the ground electronic state by comparing with those reported previously. The origin of the low frequency sequence bands observed in this work was discussed. Also, the absence of significant intensity of hot band resulting from the excited vibrational states in the spectrum suggests extensive vibrational cooling in the source.

  • To accommodate various mobile communication frequency bands, the study of metamaterial antennas have begun since the mid-2000s to solve the Trilemma problem between antenna gain-occupied bandwidth-size. As an adaptive reconfiguration function is required in a multi-array antenna system since 4G, the metamaterial array antenna using low-power variable elements has been used to change the basic structure of the antenna. Recently, reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS), which is made of metasurface with reconfigurability, has been studied to effectively cope with the randomly varying radio channels and be used for various purposes such as reflection/transmission/modulation. As a result of RIS-related patent information analysis in this study, it was confirmed that most of the patents are metamaterial antennas and metamaterial array antennas, but the metasurface antenna technology was in the early stages. Particularly, as the intelligent metasurface antenna is in a more initial stage, the investment to R&D of RIS is urgent to secure patent competitiveness in B5G and 6G.
