  • It is known that an EEG is characterized by the unique and personal characteristics of an individual. Little research has been done to take into account these personal characteristics when analyzing EEG signals. Often the EEG has frequency components which can describe most of the significant characteristics. These combinations are often unique like individual human beings and yet they have an underlying basic characteristics as well. We think that these combinations are the personal characteristics frequency components of the EEG. In this seminar, the EEG analysis method by using the Genetic Algorithms (GA), Factor Analysis (FA), and the Neural Networks (NN) is proposed. The GA is used for selecting the personal characteristic frequency components. The FA is used for extracting the characteristics data of the EEG. The NN is used for estimating the characteristics data of the EEG. Finally, in order to show the effectiveness of the proposed method, classifying the EEG pattern is carried out via computer simulations. The EEG pattern is evaluated under 4 conditions: listening to Rock music, Schmaltzy Japanese ballad music, Healing music, and Classical music. The results, when personal characteristics frequency components are NOT used, gave over 80 % accuracy versus a 95 % accuracy when personal characteristics frequency components are used. This result of our experiment shows the effectiveness of the proposed method.

  • Confidence intervals of growth curves are calculated to assess the uncertainty of index flood method as a regional frequency analysis. The asymptotic variance of quantile estimator for the generalized logistic distribution is introduced to evaluate confidence intervals. In addition, the variances of at-site frequency estimator and regional frequency estimator are used to evaluate an efficiency index. The efficiency indexes for 14 homogeneous regions based on 378 stations show that index flood method estimators are more efficient than at-site frequency estimators. It is shown that the number of sites in a region needs to be limited for regional gain.

  • This paper proposes a method on the performance analysis of pulse repetition frequency jitter compensation for generating Doppler profile. Exact phase compensation of each pulse is required to obtain Doppler profiles under pulse repetition frequency jitter. Three parameters such as velocity, pulse repetition frequency, and carrier frequency are examined to cause errors when conducting the pulse repetition frequency jitter compensation, then assuming well-focused Doppler profiles reflect well-conducted pulse repetition frequency jitter compensation, the proposed method in this paper utilizes the contrast to measure how well Doppler profile is generated. These are validated by electromagnetic computation data and computer simulation. Then, it is concluded which parameter is important on the performance analysis of pulse repetition frequency jitter compensation by using the contrast.

  • This paper is study on performance analysis of modulator using direct digital frequency synthesizer of Initial Clock Accumulating Method. It has been generally used for PLL or digital frequency synthesizing method to be synthesizd randomly chosen frequency state. In order to improve disadvantage of two methods, we constructed modulator system using DDFS of Initial Clock Accumulating Method. We also confirmed the coherence frequency hopping state and possibility of phase control. The results obtained from the experiments are as follows; First, the synthesized output frequency is proportional to the sampling frequency, according to index, K. Second, the difference of the gain between the basic frequency and the harmonic frequencies was more than 50 [dB], that is, this means facts that is reduced the harmonic frequency factor. Third, coherence frequency hopping state is confirmed by PN code sequence. Here, we confirmed the proposed method cut switching time, this verify facts that is the best characteristic of the frequency hopping. We also verified the fact that the phase varies as the adder is operated set or reset.

  • This research presented a frequency analysis method to analyze NRRO in a computer hard disk drive. RRO was proved to be the harmonics of rotational frequency. The frequency components of NRRO is the subtraction of the harmonics from TIR in frequency domain, so that NRRO in time domain can be obtained by Fourier inverse transformation of NRRO in frequency domain. This method can make the experiments simple without the index signal indispensable to time domain analysis. This research also shows that NRRO is caused by the defect frequencies of ball bearing. Even though the excitation force of ball bearing is independent of the rotational speed, the amplitude of NRRO is magnified near the resonance frequencies of the spindle motor. NRRO in axial direction is almost twice bigger than that in radial direction, because the spindle motor has smaller stiffness in axial direction.

  • On this study, we improved diaphgram for micro speaker performance using Taguchi method in discrete design space. The design of diaphgram has an effect on performance of micro speaker such as, thickness of diaphgram, shape of diaphgram, etc. Therefore this study carried to decide shape of diaphgram and thickness of diaphgram for minimizing 2nd natural frequency of diaphgram using Taguchi method. we showed improved design factors that minimized 2nd natural frequency of diaphgram. Also, 2nd natural frequency of diaphgram for micro speaker is reduced up to 37 percent maintaining twist mode shape. From the results of ANOVA, 2nd natural frequency of diaphgram for micro speaker have an effect on position of the outer curved shape and thickness of diaphgram.

  • A method of calculating the natural frequency corresponding to the first mode of vibration of beams and tower structures with irregular cross-sections and with arbitrary boundary conditions was developed and reported by D. H. Kim in 1974. In order to obtain the natural frequency by the presented method, the first step to take is to obtain the deflection influence surfaces. In design and analysis of any structure, the first step to be taken is to obtain this deflection influence surfaces. Any method can be used for this purpose. Then using this surfaces, deflections, slopes, moments, shears, and natural frequencies can be obtained by differentiating either the continuous function or discrete function defined at certain points. The merit of the presented method is that the natural frequency can be obtained by the deflection influence surfaces obtaining which is the first step in structural analysis.

  • This study suggests a frequency matrix technique to predict personal credit rate more efficiently using incomplete data sets. At first this study test on multiple discriminant analysis and logistic regression analysis for predicting personal credit rate with incomplete data sets. Missing values are predicted with mean imputation method and regression imputation method here. An artificial neural network and frequency matrix technique are also tested on their performance in predicting personal credit rating. A data set of 8,234 customers in 2004 on personal credit information of Bank A are collected for the test. The performance of frequency matrix technique is compared with that of other methods. The results from the experiments show that the performance of frequency matrix technique is superior to that of all other models such as MDA-mean, Logit-mean, MDA-regression, Logit-regression, and artificial neural networks.

  • This paper proposes a hybrid method for vibration analysis in the medium to high frequency ranges using Power Flow Analysis (PFA) algorithm and Statistical Energy Analysis (SEA) coupling concepts. The main part of the developed method is the application of coupling loss factor (CLF) suggested in SEA to the power transmission, reflection coefficients in PI' A boundary conditions. The developed hybrid method shows very promising results with regard to the applications for the various damping loss factors in wide frequency ranges. And also this paper presents the applied results of Power Flow Finite Element Method (PFFEM) by forming the new joint element matrix with CLF to analyze the various plate structures in shape. The analytical results of automobile, complex plate structures show good agreement with those of PFFEM using the PFA coefficients.
