  • A lot of studies of ship's economy are on the traditional fields such asreducing propulsion resistance, raising cargo handling rates and lessening building consts, but there are few researches on the merchant ship's economy concerning their deadweights and speeds according to shipping companies managerial cercumstances. Contrary to the contemporary trend that "the bigger, the better, if the cargo handling rate could increased sufficiently to hold down port time to that rate of smmaler vessels", this paper demonstrates the existence of certain limits in ship's size and speed according to the coditions of the freight rates, voyage distances, cargo handing rates, prices of fuel oil, interst rates etc. Fom the curves of criteria contour for various ship's deadweights and speeds which are depicted from the gird search method, one can get the costs and the yearly profit rates under the conditiions of large volume with long term contracts for the transportation of bulk cargoes. In estimating ship's transportation economy, the auther takes the position that the profit rate method is properer than the cost method, and introduces the calculation table of the voyage profit rate index. The use of the criteria contours will be of help to ship owners in determining the size and speed of the ship which will be built or purchased and serve in a certain trade route.

  • The economy of ship's size and speed is affected by the freight rates, sailing distances, cargo handling rates, fuel oil prices and even interest rates of the borrowed funds. It can be a step more powerful measures if the economic evaluation model takes in a cargo lot size which prevails in the shipping markets. This paper has dealt with hypothetical cargo lots which happen to the market with uniform distribution in probability. The evaluation models are either profit maximization method or cost minimization method. The former compares among different voyages in profitability to the invested funds, the later defines the transportation efficiency in ton-mile unit and be used in comparing two or more transportation means. This paper adopted both of above methods to derive out ships economical evaluation contours for the various ship's speed and deadweight for certain cargo lot sizes, which can be used as important managerial decision data in purchasing ships or selecting a most profitable one among the proposed voyages. This evaluation contours will also be efficiently used in appraising so called "handy size ships" in connection with port water depth and conditions of voyage tracks.ge tracks.

  • The economical property of a shipping enterprise, as well as other transportation industries, is determined by the difference between the freight earned and expense paid. This study can be regarded as a division of optimizing ship allocation to routes under the integrated port transport system. Fleet planning and scheduling require complicated allocations of cargoes to ships and ships to routes in order to optimize the given criterion function for a given forecast period. This paper deals with the optimum ship allocation problem minimizing the operating cost of ships in a shipping company. Optimum fleet operating for a shipping enterprise is very important, since the marine transportation is a form of large quantity transport requiring long-term period, and there is a strong possibility to bring about large amount of loss in operation resulting from a faulty ship allocation. Where there are more than one loading and discharging ports, and a variety of ship's ability in speed, capacity, operating cost etc., and when the amount of commodities to be transported between the ports has been determined, then the ship's schedule minimizing the operating cost while satisfying the transport demand within the predetermined period will be made up. First of all a formula of ship allocation problems will be established and then will be constructed to solve an example by the Integer Programming application after consideration of the ship's ability, supply and demand of commodity, amount of commodity to be transported, operating costs of each ship etc. This study will give good information on deciding intention for a ship oprator or owner to meet the computerization current with shiping management.

체선료의 책임주체와 그 범위에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Legal Party and its Extent of the Demurrage)

  • 체선료는 운임의 일종으로서 항만에서 선박의 체항에 따른 시간적 손실에 대한 보상이다. 통상적인 항해용선계약에 따르면 체선료의 책임은 반대의 문언이 없는 한 용선자에게 있는 것으로 추정된다. 그러나 실무에서는 용선자의 책임이 제한되거나 송하인 또는 수하인 등 제3자에게 이전되어 선주가 체선료 확보에 어려운 상황에 직면하게 되는 경우가 빈번하게 발생되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 용선자, 송하인, 수하인, 선하증권의 배서인, 기타 이해당사자 간의 체선료지불 책임에 관한 문제를 영미법의 사례를 중심으로 살펴보고, 그 결과에 따른 시사점을 도출하여 선주나 용선자의 실무에 도움이 되는 방안을 제시한다.

  • 최근 철도의 고속화에 따라 철도수송의 안전성에 대한 요구는 증가되며, 기존 선로에 더 무거운 축중의 차량이 운행토록 요구되고 있다. 이러한 요구를 충족하기 위하여 기존 선로의 레일의 중량을 증가시키고, 장대레일화를 진행해왔다. 최근 개발된 H형 침목은 기존의 일자형 PC침목에 비해 저항 특성이 높아 궤도 강성 증대와 궤도틀림 저감을 기대할 수 있으나, H형 침목 부설에 따른 궤도 특성 변화에 대한 연구는 미흡한 실정이다. 본 논문에서는 3차원 유한요소해석을 통하여 H형 침목이 부설된 궤도의 특성을 분석하였다.

  • In April 1, 2004, age of high-speed railway was opened to korea railroad. The railroad is a means of large transportation which has many talents such as a safety and a regularity. That is a results from various confidential performance tests and evaluations of the system. The railroad system consist of various subsystems - vehicle, power supply, signal, communications, track structures, operations, etc. Among them, as an item of safety evaluation there is a measurement of wheel/rail farce, so called a measurement of derailment coefficient. This is a very important item because a derailment of a train will bring about a big accident. Especially it is more important in high speed rail of which operation speed is over two times as fast as existing rail. In this paper, examined speed elevation possibility use the korean style high speed railway vehicle for reduce the running time of high-speed railway between high speed line and conventional line.

철도적용에서 구동장치의 피로강도에 관한 시험적 연구 (Experimental Study on the Fatigue Strength of a Running Equipment in Railway Applications)

  • The truck that is used as running equipment for tank freight car support is a core structural part that supports the load of the car body and significantly influences the safety of freights and vehicles, as well as their running performance. Running equipment is composed of truck frames, wheels and wheel axles, independent suspensions, and brakes. Among these components, the truck frame supporting the load of the vehicles and freights may be the most important component. This study was carried out to analyze the structure of truck frames and to determine whether they are safe when the maximum vertical load, braking part load, and the front and rear load are applied to truck frames. This was achieved by subjecting the truck frames to stress tests and then measuring the stress on each part. The results of the stress tests showed that truck frames have a safe vehicle load design.

선박가격의 합리적 거품에 대한 실증 분석 (Empirical Analysis on Rational Bubbles in Ship Prices)

  • 본 연구는 1996년 10월부터 2017년 4월까지의 건화물선, 컨테이너선, 유조선 가격과 운임 자료를 사용하여 선가의 합리적 거품 유무를 검정하였다. 기존의 연구와 달리, 컨테이너선, 유조선 가격으로 실증분석 범위를 확장하여 모형설정 오류에서 자유로운 안정성에 기초한 안정성 검정과 공적분 검정을 활용하였다. 안정성 검정 결과, 유조선 가격에 거품이 존재하였으며, 공적분 검정은 건화물선과 컨테이너선의 가격에 거품이 포함되었다는 결과를 나타내었다. 이러한 실증분석 결과는 우리나라 해운기업이 저선가 시기에 선박을 확보하는 선박투자 전략을 채택해야하며, 이를 촉진하기 위한 정부의 금융 지원과 안정적인 선복량 확보 정책 수립의 필요성을 시사한다.

  • 세계적으로 물류운송이 대형화 및 고속화를 넘어 글로벌화 되어가고 있는 가운데 물류운송의 선진화를 위해서 운송시스템의 개선이 시급하다. 물류의 흐름에서 많은 병목현상을 유발하고 있는 부분은 타교통수단간의 연계운송이며, 연계 운송시 늘어나는 운송시간과 증가되는 물류비용을 줄일 수 있는 논스톱 형태의 복합운송의 필요성이 대두되고 있다. DMT(Dual Mode Trailer)는 철도와 도로를 이용 가능하도록 고안되어 문전수송이 가능하도록 하는 일괄수송시스템을 의미하며, 우리나라에서는 도로와 철도를 연결하여 운송되는 시스템을 통칭 DMT 수송시스템으로 불리고 있다. 신개념 운송시스템인 외국의 DMT 수송시스템을 살펴보고 한국형 DMT 수송시스템 개발을 위한 추진현황 및 향후과제에 대해 제시하고자 한다.

탄성계수 감소곡선에 근거한 철도노반의 회복탄성계수 모델 개발 및 평가 (Development and Assessment for Resilient Modulus Prediction Model of Railway Trackbeds Based on Modulus Reduction Curve)

  • This study focused on the resilient modulus prediction model, which is the functions of mean effective principal stress and axial strain, for three types of railroad trackbed materials such as crushed stone, weathered soil, and crushed-rock soil mixture. The model is composed with the maximum Young's modulus and nonlinear values for higher strain in parallel with dynamic shear modulus. The maximum values is modeled by model parameters, $A_E$ and the power of mean effective principal stress, $n_E$. The nonlinear portion is represented by modified hyperbolic model, with the model parameters of reference strain, ${\varepsilon}_r$ and curvature coefficient, a. To assess the performance of the prediction models proposed herein, the elastic response of a test trackbed near PyeongTaek, Korea was evaluated using a 3-D nonlinear elastic computer program (GEOTRACK) and compared with measured elastic vertical displacement during the passages of freight and passenger trains. The material types of sub-ballasts are crushed stone and weathered granite soil, respectively. The calculated vertical displacements within the sub-ballasts are within the order of 0.6mm, and agree well with measured values with the reasonable margin. The prediction models are thus concluded to work properly in the preliminary investigation.
