발열체가 적용된 터널 라이닝 내부 및 배면의 온도변화 분석 (Analysis of Temperature Change of Tunnel Lining with Heating Element)

  • 한랭지역에 건설된 터널 라이닝은 터널주변 지하수의 결빙 등으로 인한 균열, 누수 및 백태 등이 빈번하게 발생하게 된다. 이러한 터널의 동결피해는 동절기 외기온도에 의해 터널내부 라이닝 및 배면의 지반온도의 하강으로 발생하게 되므로 시공 시 단열재를 설치하여 동결로 인한 피해를 저감하거나 기 시공된 터널에서는 단열재를 설치하거나 발열체 등을 설치하여 동결로 인한 피해를 저감할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 대기온도의 변화에 의한 라이닝 배면의 지반온도 변화와 발열체가 설치되었을 경우 라이닝 및 배면 지반의 온도변화를 분석함으로써 동결피해 저감을 위한 대응방안 시 나타나는 효과를 분석하였다.

  • Water meter frost in winter is a nuisance to the water administration and citizen as well. It causes stop of water supply, possibility of accident due to leakage freezing, and additional official work to change frost water meters. This study was carried out to give some basic information of water meter frost condition, to verify the effect of frost protection devices such as lagging vinyl cover, electric heater, and meter pit using subterranean heat. Nearly half of the number of the water meter frost happens in old apartment house with outer corridor, and temperature of the meter box was measured in that kind of apartment house, comparing with atmosphere temperature. The capability of three kinds of lagging vinyl cover was investigated by measuring the inside temperature of the insulated box. Also the capability of existing meter pits and new meter pits using subterranean heat was compared by measuring the inside temperature of the pits. One of the result is that the inside temperature of meter pits using subterranean heat was higher than that of the existing ones, and deeper pit causes higher inside temperature in case of using subterranean heat.

  • The packing, among the components comprising the gate valve, is used to sustain the air-tightness and the study on change of shape or pattern has been carried out to maximize the functions, but the study on changing the location or the size of the packing in a bid to prevent the freezing has rarely been implemented. Thus, This study is intended to evaluate the thermal strain of packing by heat transfer from territory of extremely low temperature as well as the temperature distribution to the upper part of the packing using numerical analysis method.

쇠고기 포장육의 냉장유통을 위한 국내 유통망의 온도관리 실태 조사 (Investigation on the Actual State of Temperature Control in the Raw Meat Distributing Chain for Chilled Beef)

  • Good temperature control in the chill chain is imperative for maintaining safety and quality of the fresh meat. Therefore, the actual state of temperature or relative humidity histories of fresh meat product from carcass chill room to retail shop and the temperatures of chill and freezing rooms at local butcher shops were monitored by means of data loggers. The relative humidity and air temperature in carcass chill room were between 86 and 98%, and -3 and 0$^{\circ}C$, respectively. The surface temperatures of boxed beef measured in winter, when the outside air temperature was measured between -2 and -5$^{\circ}C$, were recorded between 1 and 3$^{\circ}C$, although transport vehicle switched off the chilling unit during transportation, However, the inside temperatures of chill transport vehicle measured in summer, when the transport time was prolonged to maximum 8 hrs, were raised to 10 to 15$^{\circ}C$, in worst case up to 25$^{\circ}C$. In that case, however, the inside temperature of boxed beef was maintained generally lower than 5$^{circ}C$ as the loading and unloading were finished within 30 min. The storage temperatures for meat in the subfreezing room, at which the butcher shops in local market are used to set to facilitate the thin slicing of meat, were measured between -2 and -8$^{\circ}C$. Furthermore, the temperatures of storage room for vacuum packaged meat in the chilled meat retail shops were maintained generally between 0 and +2$^{\circ}C$.

일정 열유속 조건의 판형 히터에 의한 해빙과정의 수치해석 (Numerical Analysis of the Melting Process of Ice Using Plate Heaters with Constant Heat Flux)

  • One of the cold start problems of a FCV is the freezing of the water in the water tank when a FCV is not in operation and the surrounding temperature drops below $0^{\circ}C$. The ice in the tank should be melted as quickly as possible for a satisfactory operation of fuel cell vehicles. In this study, the melting process for the constant heat fluxes of the plate heaters was numerically calculated in the 2-D model of the tank and plate heaters. The enthalpy method and FVM code was used for this analysis. The changes of the temperature with heat fluxes and the heat transfer area could be investigated. The energy balance error was found to increase with the heat flux. From this numerical analysis, the proper heat flux value and some important design factors relating local overheating and pressurization of the water tank could be examined.

다중회귀분석에 의한 식품의 동결시간 예측 (Freezing Time Prediction of Foods by Multiple Regression Analysis)

  • 본 연구에서는 서로 다른 동결조건 및 방법에 따른 우육 및 tylose의 단순하며 간편한 동결시간을 예측할 수 있는 모델을 모색하기 위하여 23개의 실험데이터를 이용하여 시료의 초기온도$(X_1)$, 시료의 두께$(X_2)$와 시료의 초기빙결점에서 동결매체 온도사이의 차의 역수$(X_3)$ 및 표면열전달계수의 역수$(X_4)$를 독립변수로 하고 동결시간(Y)을 종속변수로 설정하여 다중회귀 분석을 실시한 결과, $Y_{tylose}=3.45X_1+7642.84X_2+4642.67X_3+2946.89X_4-431.33\;(R^2=0.9568)$$Y_{beef}=0.68X_1+7568.98X_2+2430.78X_3+3293.26X_4-299.00\;(R^2=0.9897)$의 방정식을 구하였다. 본 모델은 Cleland & Earle와 Hung & Thompson의 모델과 마찬가지로 평균절대오차는 10% 수준으로, Plank, Nagaoka 및 Pham의 모델보다 정확함과 아울러 매우 간편함을 보여 주었다. 또한, 우육 및 tylose의 $6{\sim}7^{\circ}C$ 범위에서의 열확산율은 $4.43{\times}10^{-4}m^2/hr$$4.39{\times}10^{-4}m^2/hr,\;-10{\sim}-12^{\circ}C$에서의 열확산율은 $2.42{\times}10^{-3}m^2/hr$$3.32{\times}10^{-3}m^2/hr$로 측정되었고, tylose 및 우육의 빙결점은 각각 $-0.6^{\circ}C$$-1.2^{\circ}C$로 나타났다. 그리고 표면열전달계수는 송풍식에서 무포장시 $20.57\;W/m^2^{\circ}C$, wrap 포장시는 $16.11\;W/m^2^{\circ}C$, wrap 과 Al-foil로 포장한 경우에는 $13.07\;W/m^2^{\circ}C$로 계산되었으며, 침지식은 송풍식보다 냉각속도가 약 10배 이상 빠르게 나타났다.

  • A study on the heat and mass transfer for the drying time in spray freezing drying process was experimentally presented in this paper. A spray freezing dryer for the production of an inhalable powder medicine is developed and an albumin solution as protein specimen is adopted. The freeze-drying for the albumin solution is tested in three different height of the particles piled up in a tray such as 2 mm, 5 mm, 7 mm, and the drying time is estimated as 10 h, 15 h, 22 h. From this results, the correlation is suggested and the drying time with various height of the particles piled up in a tray can be estimated. The assessment on the drying time is conducted thought a microbalance and the rate of water content is measured. The results based on temperature and weight are compared. The difference of the results happens due to the heat transfer from the lateral side of the vial. It is thought that the better estimation in drying time can be predicted by considering the heat transfer effect.

극지운항용 빙해선박의 밸러스트 수 결빙방지 기법 연구 (A Study on Anti-Icing Technique for Ballast Water of Icebreaking Vessels Operating in Ice-Covered Water)

  • When freezing is present on ballast water, it can impose additional loads on the hull and effect on stabilization of ship. The anti-icing techniques of ballast water, therefore, are key criteria for ship safety. The existing anti-icing techniques of ballast tank are hull heating, water circulation and air bubble system etc. In this research, anti-icing performance tests for the ballast water using micro-bubble system and sea water circulation system have been carried out at two temperature conditions($-10^{\circ}C$ and $-25^{\circ}C$). Ambient temperature, sea water temperature and temperature of the inner parts of the ballast tank are measured and also ballast water conditions are checked during the model test. The applied anti-icing techniques of ballast water, such as micro-bubble system and sea water circulation system show good performance in the low temperature conditions.

경기북부지역 정밀 수치기후도 제작 및 활용 - I. 수치기후도 제작 (Development and Use of Digital Climate Models in Northern Gyunggi Province - I. Derivation of DCMs from Historical Climate Data and Local Land Surface Features)

  • Northern Gyeonggi Province(NGP), consisting of 3 counties, is the northernmost region in South Korea adjacent to the de-militarized zone with North Korea. To supplement insufficient spatial coverage of official climate data and climate atlases based on those data, high-resolution digital climate models(DCM) were prepared to support weather- related activities of residents in NGP Monthly climate data from 51 synoptic stations across both North and South Korea were collected for 1981-2000. A digital elevation model(DEM) for this region with 30m cell spacing was used with the climate data for spatially interpolating daily maximum and minimum temperatures, solar irradiance, and precipitation based on relevant topoclimatological models. For daily minimum temperature, a spatial interpolation scheme accommodating the potential influences of cold air accumulation and the temperature inversion was used. For daily maximum temperature estimation, a spatial interpolation model loaded with the overheating index was used. Daily solar irradiances over sloping surfaces were estimated from nearby synoptic station data weighted by potential relative radiation, which is the hourly sum of relative solar intensity. Precipitation was assumed to increase with the difference between virtual terrain elevation and the DEM multiplied by an observed rate. Validations were carried out by installing an observation network specifically for making comparisons with the spatially estimated temperature pattern. Freezing risk in January was estimated for major fruit tree species based on the DCMs under the recurrence intervals of 10, 30, and 100 years, respectively. Frost risks at bud-burst and blossom of tree flowers were also estimated for the same resolution as the DCMs.

A Numerical Model for the Freeze-Thaw Damages in Concrete Structures

  • This paper deals with the accumulated damage in concrete structures due to the cyclic freeze-thaw as an environmental load. The cyclic ice body nucleation and growth processes in porous systems are affected by the thermo-physical and mass transport properties, and gradients of temperature and chemical potentials. Furthermore, the diffusivity of deicing chemicals shows significantly higher value under cyclic freeze-thaw conditions. Consequently, the disintegration of concrete structures is aggravated at marine environments, higher altitudes, and northern areas. However, the properties of cyclic freeze-thaw with crack growth and diffusion of chloride ion effects are hard to be identified in tests, and there has been no analytic model for the combined degradations. The main objective is to determine the driving force and evaluate the reduced strength and stiffness by freeze-thaw. For the development of computational model of those coupled deterioration, micro-pore structure characterization, pore pressure based on the thermodynamic equilibrium, time and temperature dependent super-cooling with or without deicing salts, nonlinear-fracture constitutive relation for the evaluation of internal damage, and the effect of entrained air pores (EA) has been modeled numerically. As a result, the amount of ice volume with temperature dependent surface tensions, freezing pressure and resulting deformations, and cycle and temperature dependent pore volume has been calculated and compared with available test results. The developed computational program can be combined with DuCOM, which can calculate the early aged strength, heat of hydration, micro-pore volume, shrinkage, transportation of free water in concrete. Therefore, the developed model can be applied to evaluate those various practical degradation cases as well.
