고온자전합성법으로 제조된 다공성 TiNi 생체재료의 기공구조 및 기계적 특성 (Pore Structure and Mechanic:11 Property of Porous TiNi Biomaterial Produced by Self-Propagating High-Temperature Synthesis)

  • Porous TiNi bodies were produced by Self-propagating High-temperature Synthesis (SHS) method from a powder mixture of Ti and Ni. Porosity, pore size and structure, mechanical property, and transformation temperature of TiNi product were investigated. The average porosity and pore size of produced porous TiNi body are 63% and $216\mutextrm{m}$, respectively. XRD analysis showed that the major phase of produced TiNi body is B2 phase. Its average fracture strength and elastic modulus measured under dry condition were $22\pm2$ MPa and $0.18\pm0.01$GPa, respectively. It could be strained up to 7.3 %. The transformation temperatures determined by DSC showed the $M_s$ temperature of $67^{\circ}C$ and $A_f$ temperature of $99^{\circ}C$.

과대 하중작용 시 균열성장 지연 거동에 대한 파괴역학적 정리 (Fracture Mechanic's Approach on Retardation Behaviors under Overloading)

  • In order to clarify the effect of overload on crack growth behaviors, fatigue tests for overload were carried out for round plain specimens of SM45C steel. In the experiment, typical semi-elliptical crack shape was found and further crack growth behaviors were tested. Using three types of single overload fatigue tests, Crack growth retardation phenomenon were examined. The growth rate of surface crack(da/dN) during retardation period was analyzed in terms of ${\Delta}K$ and ${\Delta}K_{eff}$. On the growth rate of surface crack analyzed by ${\Delta}K$, the dependence of overload stress levels appears. However, on the growth rate by ${\Delta}K_{eff}$ obtained by Willenborg analysis, there is a non-liner relationship between da/dN and ${\Delta}K_{eff}$ with narrow scatter band.

A new formulation of the J integral of bonded composite repair in aircraft structures

  • A three-dimensional finite element method is used for analysis of repairing cracks in plates with bonded composite patch in elastic and elastic plastic analysis. This study was performed in order to establish an analytical model of the J-integral for repair crack. This formulation of the J-integral to establish models of fatigue crack growth in repairing aircraft structures. The model was developed by interpolation of numerical results. The obtained results were compared with those calculated with the finite element method. It was found that our model gives a good agreement of the J-integral. The arrow shape reduces the J integral at the crack tip, which improves the repair efficiency.

Elastic-plastic analysis of the J integral for repaired cracks in plates

  • In this paper, three-dimensional finite element method is used to analyze the J integral for repaired cracks in plates with bonded composite patch and stiffeners. For elastic the effect of cracks, the thickness of the patch ($e_r$) and properties of the patch are presented for calculating the J integral. For elastic-plastic a several calculations have been realized to extract the plasticized elements around the crack tip of repaired and un-repaired crack. The obtained results show that the presence of the composite patch and stiffener reduces considerably the size of the plastic zone ahead of the crack. The effects of crack size and the inter-distance of repaired cracks were analysed.

  • While interacting with a sloping structure, an ice floe may fracture in different patterns. For example, it can be local bending failure or global splitting failure depending on the contact properties, geometry and confinement of the ice floe. Modelling these different fracture patterns as a natural outcome of numerical simulations is rather challenging. This is mainly because the effects of crack propagation, crack branching, multi fracturing modes and eventual fragmentation within a solid material are still questions to be answered by the on-going research in the Computational Mechanic community. In order to simulate the fracturing of ice floes with arbitrary geometries and confinement; and also to simulate the fracturing events at such a large scale yet with sufficient efficiency, we propose a semi-analytical/empirical and semi-numerical approach; but with focus on the global splitting failure mode in this paper. The simulation method is validated against data we collected during the Oden Arctic Technology Research Cruise 2015 (OATRC2015). The data include: 1) camera images based on which we specify the exact geometry of ice floes before and after an impact and fracturing event; 2) IMU data based on which the global dynamic force encountered by the icebreaker is extracted for the impact event. It was found that this method presents reasonably accurate results and realistic fracturing patterns upon given ice floes.

플라이애쉬 경화체의 역학적 특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on Mechanic properties of Hardened Fly-ash)

  • 이 논문의 목적은 산업부산물인 플라이애쉬의 재활용을 높이기 위해 플라이애쉬를 대량으로 사용한 플라이애쉬 경화체를 제작 하였다. 단위시멘트량의 90%를 플라이애쉬로 대체하여 제작한 이 경화체의 압축강도, 탄성계수 등 기초적인 물성을 파악하여 구조용 건설재료로 실용화하기 위한 기초적 자료를 제시하고자 한다. 물-시멘트비를 변수로 하여 플라이애쉬 경화체의 휨강도를 측정한 결과 물-결합재비, 잔골재율이 증가할수록 파괴에너지가 감소하였다. 이러한 이유는 파괴에너지가 강도의 영향을 크게 받기 때문으로 판단된다. 이번 실험으로 플라이애쉬 경화체의 기초물성은 기존 콘크리트에 많이 접근했음을 알 수 있었다. 하지만 구조용 건설자재로 도입되기 위해서는 건조수축, 크리프, 동결융해 등의 내구성 실험도 계속 수행되어야 할 것이다.

균열성장 지연현상에 대한 유효 소성역 개념을 사용한 파괴역학적 연구 (A Fracture Mechanic's Study for Crack Growth Retardation Phenomenon using Effective Plastic Zone Concept)

  • In this study, the growth rate of surface cracks (da/dN) during the retardation period was analyzed in terms of effective stress intensity factor range(${\Delta}K_{eff}^*$) obtained by using the proposed effective plastic zone concept. Effective stress intensity factors obtained by using the effective plastic zone concept were smaller than those obtained by using Willenborg analysis. On the growth rate of surface cracks analyzed by ${\Delta}K$, the dependence of overload stress levels appears. On the growth rate by ${\Delta}K_{eff}$ obtained by Willenborg analysis, there is a linear relationship with two different slops between da/dN and ${\Delta}K_{eff}$. However, on the growth rate by ${\Delta}K_{eff}^*$ obtained by the proposed effective plastic zone concept, there is a linear relationship between da/dN and ${\Delta}K_{eff}^*$ that coincides with the results of constant amplitude loading.

  • Ultrasonic machining technology has been developed over recent years for he manufacture of cost-effective and quality-assured precision parts for several industrial application such as optics, semiconductors, aerospace, and automobile application. The past decade has seen a tremendous in the use of ceramic in structural application. The excellent thermal, chemical and wear resistance of these material can be realized because of recent improvement in the overall strength and uniformity of advanced ceramics. Ultrasonic machining, in which abrasive particles in slurry with water are presented to the work surface in the presence of an ultrasonic-vibrating tool, is process which should be of considerable interest, as its potential is not limited by he electrical or chemical characteristics of the work material, making it suitable for application to ceramics. In order to improve the currently used ultrasonic machining using ultrasonic energy, technical accumulation is needed steadily through development of exciting device of ultrasonic machine composed of piezoelectric vibrator and horn. This paper intends to further the understanding of the basic mechanism of ultrasonic machining for brittle material and ultrasonic machining of ceramics based in the fracture-mechanic concept has been analyzed.

1/2T Compact-Tension Type 시편으로 구한 J-R (J-T) 곡선의 타당성 검토. (Qualification of J-R (J-T) Curve from 1/2T Compact-Tension Specimen)

  • 소형시험편(1/2"T)을 이용, 균열진전량 및 J계산식에 따른 재료의 J-R (J-T) 곡선의 변화를 조사하여 신뢰성있는 J-R(J-T) 곡선을 구하기 위한 실험 및 해석방법을 고찰하였다. 시험은 국내 원자력발전소 압력용기감시 시험에 포함되어 있는 파괴인성시편과 꼭같이 SA 533 Grade 3, Class1 재료로 제작한 1/2"T, C-T 시편을 이용, Single Specimen Unloading Compliance Technique으로 수행하였다. 시험 및 해석결과 Ernst의 Deformation theory J (JD)식을 이용하여 초기 Uncracked ligament (be)의 25~30%까지 균열을 진전시켜 구한 J-R(J-T) 곡선이 대형시편의 결과와 가장 유사한 값을 나타내었다. 한편 Ernst의 Modified J (JM)식에 의한 J-R (J-T) 곡선은 Deformation theory J(JD)에 의한 J-R(J-T) 곡선보다 다소 높은 Instability 예측점을 얻을 수 있기 때문에 실제 압력용기 안전성 해석시에는 가동률향상 및 수명연장 측면에서 Modified J의 사용은 고려되어야 할 것이다.되어야 할 것이다.
