보일러 헤더 기동시의 탄성 크리프 해석에 의한 열응력 평가 (Thermal Stress Evaluation by Elastic-Creep Analysis during Start-up of Boiler Header)

  • Thermal stress and elastic creeping stress analysis was conducted by finite element method to simulate start-up process of a boiler header of 500MW standard fossil power plant. Start-up temperature and operating pressure history were simplified from the real field data and they were used for the thermal stress analysis. Two kinds of thermal stress analysis were considered. In the first case only temperature increase was considered and in the second case both of temperature and operating pressure histories were considered. In the first analysis peak stress was occurred during the temperature increase from the room temperature. Hence cracking or fracture may occur at the temperature far below the operating maximum temperature. In the results of the second analysis von Mises stress appeared to be higher after the second temperature increase. This is due to internal pressure increase not due to the thermal stress. When the stress components of radial(r), hoop($\theta$) and longitudinal(z) stress were investigated, compression hoop stress was occurred at inner surface of the stub tube when the temperature increased from room temperature to elevated temperature. Then it was changed to tension hoop stress and increased because of the operating pressure. It was expected that frequent start-up and shut-down operations could cause thermal fatigue damage and cracking at the stub tube hole in the header. Elastic-creeping analysis was also carried out to investigate the stress relaxation due to creep and stabilized stress after considerable elapsed time. The results could be used for assessing the creep damage and the residual life of the boiler header during the long-tenn service.

전방 견관절 불안정성의 Hill-Sachs 병변의 치료에서 Remplissage의 Review (Review in Remplissage on Anterior Shoulder Instability with Huge Hill-Sachs Lesion)

  • 목적: 광범위한 Hill-Sachs 병변을 동반한 전방 견관절 불안정성에 대한 관절경 하 Remplissage 술기를 고찰하고 저자들의 경험을 소개하고자 한다. 대상 및 방법: 골관절염이 없고, 견관절 주위의 골절이 없으며, 10회 이상의 재발성 탈구를 경험하였던 환자들 중에, 30~40% 이상의 광범위한 Hill-Sachs 병변 및 관절와 골 결손이 20% 미만인 경우를 대상으로 관절경 하 Bankart 병변 복원술과 함께 Remplissage 술기를 시행하였다. 결과 및 결론: 광범위한 Hill-Sachs 병변이 동반된 전방 견관절 불안정성에 대한 Remplissage 술기는 견관절의 안정성 및 임상적, 기능적으로 양호한 결과를 보여줄 수 있을 것으로 생각된다.

강교 부재의 피로손상에 대한 신뢰성 해석 (Reliability Analysis for Fatigue Damage of Steel Bridge Details)

  • 본 연구는 선형탄성 파괴역학적 방법을 사용하여 피로 손상을 평가할 수 있는 해석모델을 개발하는데 있다. 트럭 한 대가 교량상부를 통과할 때 부재에 발생하는 응력이력을 블록하중이라 정의하고 하중상호작용효과를 설명하는 균열닫힘 모델 이론을 적용한다. 블록하중에 대해 사하중 응력과 균열개구응력을 고려하여 응력범위빈도해석을 수행하였다. 여기서 구한 응력범위빈도분포에 확률적 방법을 적용하여 응력범위빈도분포의 확률분포 파라미타를 추 정하였다. 확률분포의 확률변수를 발생시키는 Monte Carlo Simulation 실행을 하여 파괴블럭수와 확률분포를 구한다. 이로부터 부재의 파로파괴가 발생하지 않는 피로신뢰성을 계산한다. 또한 파괴블럭수를 일평균 트럭교통량으로 나누면 예상잔존수명을 구할 수 있다. 제안된 피로신뢰성 해석모델을 사용하여 강상자형교 가로보와 수직보강개의 용접부에 피로신뢰성 해석을 수행 한 결과, 피크해석방법 결과와 잔존수명이 3.8% 정도 차이가 있었다. 이는 제안된 모델이 균열닫힘 현상이나 균열지연 형상을 고려하고 있음을 알 수 있었다.

스마트폰을 이용한 무릎관절 고유수용성 감각 측정의 타당도와 신뢰도 검증 (Validity and Reliability of the Knee Joint Proprioceptive Sensory Measurements using a Smartphone)

  • PURPOSE: We aims to promote the development of proprioception measurement using smartphones, goniometers, and laser pointers as compared to the conventional use of electrogoniometer measurement. METHODS: Measurements using an electrogoniometer were previously proved to be reliabile and valid. Among E-university students, 20 who had no fracture, operation history, or inflammatory arthritis were examined. These subjects had not performed regular exercise in the past 3 months. Proprioception measurements were performed using four different measurement tools, three times per day, for test-retest analysis. RESULTS: No notable test-retest differences were noted for any of the measurement methods (P>0.05). With regard to the test-retest reliability for each measurement method, we observed that the readings from both the electrogoniometer and smartphone have high reliability (ICC>0.80), whereas the readings from the laser pointer have moderate reliability (ICC>0.60). When assessing the concurrent validity between electrogoniometers with individual measurements, we did not observe any notable difference between the smartphone and electrogoniometer (P>0.05) and these tools in fact showed high correlation (r>0.60, P<0.05) and a moderate reliability (ICC>0.60). Moreover, there was no notable difference in between electrogoniometers and laser pointers (P<0.05). CONCLUSION: CONCLUSION: The findings of this suggested that proprioception can be measured by using smart-phones, and proved that this method has sufficient credibility. Moreover, we noted that the concurrent validity with smartphones was high in comparison with the conventional electrogoniometer, which also indicates the validity and credibility. Based on these findings, we conclude that the measurement of proprioception by using a smartphone can be widely adopted.

플레이트거더 지하철교량 세로보의 피로 균열에 관한 연구 (A Study on Fatigue Crack at Coped Stringers of the Plate Girder Subway-Bridge)

  • 거동이 복잡한 실제 구조물의 사용하중으로 인한 피로 균열 해석 방법을 제시하기 위해 구 당산철교 플레이트교 세로보에 발생한 피로균열을 대상으로 하여 사용 기간에 따른 피로균열의 길이를 계산하였다. 계산의 편리와 컴퓨터의 계산 용량 등을 고려하여 특정 부분만 정밀하게 해석하였고, 구조해석의 오차와 열차의 운행 하중 등을 고려하기 위해 여러 보정계수를 사용하였다. 상부구조 1개 경간을 보요소로 모델링하여 열차 통과로 인한 세로보의 거동 이력을 해석하였으며, 세로보 연결부의 플랜지가 절취된 곳에 집중된 응력을 구하기 위하여 세로보 한 개를 쉘요소로 모델링하여 정밀해석을 수행하였다. 피로균열의 진행은 파괴역학적 모델을 사용하여 계산하였으며, 응력확대계수는 유한요소해석 방법으로 J-Integral를 구하여 환산한 값을 사용하였다. 가정한 초기균열의 크기와 균열 진행속도 계산식에 따라 차이는 있으나 계산된 피로균열의 길이는 현장에서 조사된 피로균열길이에 잘 부합되는 것으로 나타났다.

복부 둔상 환자에서 골반 골절을 동반하지 않고 발생한 총장골동맥 손상 증례 (Common Iliac Artery Injury due to Blunt Abdominal Trauma without a Pelvic Bone Fracture)

  • Blunt abdominal trauma may often cause multiple vascular injuries. However, common iliac artery injuries without associated bony injury are very rarely seen in trauma patients. In the present case, a 77-year-old male patient who had no medical history was admitted via the emergency room with blunt abdominal trauma caused by a forklift. At admission, the patient was in shock and had abdominal distension. On abdomino-pelvic computed tomography (CT), the patient was seen to have hemoperitoneum, right common iliac artery thrombosis and left common iliac artery rupture. During surgery, an additional injury to inferior vena cava was confirmed, and a primary repair of the inferior vena cava was successfully performed. However, the bleeding from the left common iliac artery could not be controlled, even with multiple sutures, so the left common iliac artery was ligated. Through an inguinal skin incision, the right common iliac artery thrombosis was removed with a Forgaty catheter and a femoral-to-femoral bypass graft was successfully performed. After the post-operative 13th day, on a follow-up CT angiography, the femoral-to-femoral bypass graft was seen to have good patency, but a right common iliac artery dissection was diagnosed. Thus, a right common iliac artery stent was inserted. Finally, the patient was discharged without complications.

운전하중하의 레인플로집계법을 이용한 철도차량 무개화차의 피로누적손상과 수명예측 (Fatigue Cumulative Damage and Life Prediction of Uncovered Freight Car Under Service Load using Rainflow Counting Method)

  • An end beam is one of the most important structural members supporting uncovered freight under in-service loading. In general, it needs to endure over 25 years. However fatigue fracture has occurred at dynamic stress concentration location of the end beam because user's specifications demanded high speed and vehicle manufacturer made the uncovered freight car with comparatively low strength and stiffness. For durability analysis, finite element analysis is performed to evaluate the problem of uncovered freight structure and local strain. The uncovered freight car was operated on actual problematic railroad line to measure dynamic stress versus time history on the critical part from which a crack is initiated often. Rainflow cycle counting method was used to estimate fatigue damage at dangerous area under operating condition. Therefore, this study shows that analytical fatigue life at the end beam can be predicted on the basis of S-N curve and structure analysis and has a fairly good correlation with experimental fatigue life.

Magnetic resonance imaging analysis of rotator cuff tear after shoulder dislocation in a patient older than 40 years

  • Background: This study was designed to evaluate characters of the rotator cuff tear (RCT) recognized after primary shoulder dislocation in patients older than 40. Methods: From 2008 to 2019, patients who visited two hospitals after dislocation were retrospectively reviewed. Inclusion criteria were patients over 40 who had dislocation, with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) undergone. Exclusion criteria were patients who lost to follow-up, combined with any proximal humerus fracture, brachial plexus injury, and previous operation or dislocation history in the ipsilateral shoulder. Also patients who had only bankart or bony bakart lesion in MRI were excluded. We evaluated RCTs that were recognized by MRI after the primary shoulder dislocation with regard to tear size, degree, involved tendons, fatty degeneration, the age when the first dislocation occurred, and the duration until the MRI was evaluated after the dislocation. Results: Fifty-five RCTs were included. According to age groups, the tear size was increased in coronal and sagittal direction, the number of involved tendons was increased, and the degree of fatty degeneration was advanced in infraspinatus muscle. Thirty-two cases (58.2%) conducted MRI after 3 weeks from the first shoulder dislocation event. This group showed that the retraction size of the coronal plane was increased significantly and the fatty accumulation of the supraspinatus muscle had progressed significantly. Conclusions: Age is also a strong factor to affect the feature of RCT after the shoulder dislocation in patients over 40. And the delay of the MRI may deteriorate the degree of tear size and fatty degeneration.

DHC Characteristics of M11 Pressure Tube in Wolsong Unit 1

  • Delayed hydride cracking (DHC) velocity and threshold stress intensity factor for DHC ($K_{IH}$) tests in the radial direction on M11 pressure tube material in Wolsong unit 1 were carried out following the Atomic Energy Canada Limited (AECL) standard test procedure in order to identify the effect of undercooling on DHCV and to acquire the $K_{IH}$ data. The results showed that $K_{IH}$ 's were 8.8$\pm$0.8 MPa√m in the back offcut and 11.4$\pm$0.7 MPa√m in the front offcut. The fact that $K_{IH}$ in the front offcut is about 20% higher than that in the back offcut is attributed to the microstructural difference between the materials of the front and back ends. $K_{IH}$ 's in M11 pressure tube appeared to be higher than the values from the tubes made of double melted ingot reported earlier. This can be interpreted by the fact that very small amounts of Chlorine (Cl) and Phosphorus (P) are contained in the ingot and that the content of the harmful elements in the M11 pressure tube is equivalent to that made of a quadruple melting process. DHC velocities at 25$0^{\circ}C$ in the front offcut in the radial direction are measured to be 5~8$\times$10$^{-8}$ m/s. The results show that the prior thermal history change the DHC velocity significantly. This effect was confirmed by the experiment of undercooling prior to the DHC tests.DHC tests.

중력전단비에 따른 철근콘크리트 플랫 플레이트 골조의 내진 성능 평가 (Seismic Performance of Reinforced Concrete Flat Plate Frames according to Gravity Shear Ratio)

  • 이 연구에서는 중력 전단비에 따른 철근콘크리트 플랫 플레이트 골조의 내진성능을 평가하였다. 이를 위하여, 이 연구에서는 3층, 7층 골조를 중력하중만 고려하여 설계하고, 대상 건물에 대한 비선형 정적 푸쉬 오버 해석과 비선형 동적 해석을 수행하였다. 그리고 이 연구는 그 비선형 해석에서 중력 전단비의 차이에 따른 뚫림 전단과 파괴 메커니즘을 예측할 수 있도록 제안한 슬래브-기둥 접합부 모델을 사용하였다. 이 연구 결과에 따르면 중력 전단비가 골조의 내진성능에 큰 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 특히 중력 전단비가 커짐에 따라 골조 접합부의 파괴가 취성적인 파괴를 나타내어 내진 성능이 떨어지는 것으로 나타났다.
