쌍동선의 파랑 동하중 추정 (Computations of Dynamic Wave Loads of a Catamaran)

  • 안전하고 경제적인 쌍동선형을 설계하기 위해서는 횡갑판(cross deck)에 작용하는 파랑 동하중의 정확한 추정이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 Lee 등[3]이 제시한 2차원 스트립 방법을 6자유도 운동을 갖는 3차원의 경우로 확장하여 임의 입사파에서 파랑하중(수직 및 수평 전단력, 굽힘모멘트 및 비틀림모멘트)을 추정하였고, 발표된 계산 결과(스트립 방법 및 3차원 패널법) 및 Wahab 등[2]의 실험 결과와 비교하였다. 일반적으로 2차원 결과보다 3차원 방법이 실험 결과와 잘 일치하였으나, 같은 이론을 사용한 3차원 방법에 있어서도 몇몇 경우에 계산값의 차이가 있었다. 파랑하중 추정의 정도를 향상시키기 위해서 점성항의 고려 및 엄밀한 속도항의 고려가 필요하다고 생각된다.

  • LED 광원은 기존 광원에 비해 수명이 길고 에너지 효율이 좋은 것으로 알려져 있다. 최근 철도차량의 고속화에 따른 전방시야 확보와 안전적인 운행을 고려하여 LED광원을 이용한 전조등이 증가하고 있다. 그러나 LED광원의 수명시험 데이터를 근거로 한 제품 수명 평가체계는 구동전류, 온도 및 진동 등 수명-스트레스 인자에 따라 다양한 수명특성을 보인다. LED제품은 주로 온도에 의해 예측된 수명에 미치지 못하는 경우가 일반적이므로 온도제어부의 성능평가는 수명시험 이전에 수행되어야 한다. 본 연구는 철도차량용 LED전조등의 수명시험 장치의 온도제어부 시작품을 제작하고 성능시험 결과를 바탕으로 타당성을 검증한다.

Study on performance test of orchard tractor power transmission systems

  • This study started to export an orchard tractor to Europe under the situations that R&D activities for orchard tractor were marginal and even it was not produced. The R&D for orchard tractor has been progressed and the most of it is accomplishing the goal. In this study, the durability of clutch friction part was tested for F/R clutch and moment of inertia of PTO clutch, and it was compared with the design criteria of transmission of tractor. According to the results of inertia test of F/R clutch, hydraulic pressures of clutch satisfied $1,961.33{\pm}196.13kPa$ of design criteria, and the variations of torque for forward and reverse operation were relatively constant. Therefore, it was found that the durability of clutch friction part was stable and reliable. Test results showed that the main hydraulic pressures were maintained $1,961.33{\pm}196.13kPa$ during the tests of moment of inertia of PTO clutch, and when it was operated, the hydraulic pressures were reached $1,961.33{\pm}196.13kPa$. Therefore, it was found that the hydraulic pressures of PTO satisfied the design criteria. By the results that the time of the hydraulic pressures of PTO reaching main hydraulic pressure, and that of torque values restoring to the original was same as the time of the first gear of PTO reaching the maximum rotational speed, it was found that PTO could transfer power to attachments as it was designed.

선수 규칙파 중 만재상태의 KVLCC2 모형선 공칭반류 계측 (Nominal Wake Measurement for KVLCC2 Model Ship in Regular Head Waves at Fully Loaded Condition)

  • In the ship design process, ship motion and propulsion performance in sea waves became very important issues. Especially, prediction of ship propulsion performance during real operation is an important challenge to ship owners for economic operation in terms of fuel consumption and route-time evaluation. Therefore, it should be considered in the early design stages of the ship. It is thought that the averaged value and fluctuation of effective inflow velocity to the propeller have a great effect on the propulsion performance in waves. However, even for the nominal velocity distribution, very few results have been presented due to some technical difficulties in experiments. In this study, flow measurements near the propeller plane using a stereo PIV system were performed. Phase-averaged flow fields on the propeller plane of a KVLCC2 model ship in waves were measured in the towing tank by using the stereo PIV system and a phase synchronizer with heave motion. The experiment was carried out at fully loaded condition with making surge, heave and pitch motions free at a forward speed corresponding to Fr=0.142 (Re=2.55×106) in various head waves and calm water condition. The phase averaged nominal velocity fields obtained from the measurements are discussed with respect to effects of wave orbital velocity and ship motion. The low velocity region is affected by pressure gradient and ship motion.

축소형 초고압 분사 시스템의 노즐 형상에 따른 초음속 액체 제트 분무 특성에 관한 연구 (Spray Characteristics of Supersonic Liquid Jet by a Nozzle Geometry of Miniature High-Pressure Injection System)

  • 고압관, 가압관, 발사관으로 구성된 Ballistic Range의 일종인 2단식 경가스 총을 사용하여 초음속 액체 제트의 분무 특성을 연구하였다. 135 bar의 압축공기는 고압관과 가압관 사이에 OHP필름으로 구성된 격막을 파열시킨 후 가압관의 발사체를 약 250 m/s의 속도로 가속하였다. 가속된 발사체는 액체 저장부에 충돌하여 액체를 초고압으로 가압한 후 초음속으로 분사시키며, 특히 초음속 액체 제트는 미립화된 다중 제트의 형태를 나타내고 액체 제트 전방 영역에서 충격파를 수반한다. 다양한 분사 노즐의 기하학적 형상에 대한 분무시험결과 초음속 액체 제트의 속도와 충격파 각도가 각각 다르게 생성되었으며, L/d가 9.9, 11.9, 23.8의 조건에 대하여 L/d가 23.8의 경우에 액체 제트의 분사속도가 마하수 1.53으로 가장 낮게 측정되었다.

Open-jet boundary-layer processes for aerodynamic testing of low-rise buildings

  • Investigations on simulated near-surface atmospheric boundary layer (ABL) in an open-jet facility are carried out by conducting experimental tests on small-scale models of low-rise buildings. The objectives of the current study are: (1) to determine the optimal location of test buildings from the exit of the open-jet facility, and (2) to investigate the scale effect on the aerodynamic pressure characteristics. Based on the results, the newly built open-jet facility is well capable of producing mean wind speed and turbulence profiles representing open-terrain conditions. The results show that the proximity of the test model to the open-jet governs the length of the separation bubble as well as the peak roof pressures. However, test models placed at a horizontal distance of 2.5H (H is height of the wind field) from the exit of the open-jet, with a width that is half the width of the wind field and a length of 1H, have consistent mean and peak pressure coefficients when compared with available results from wind tunnel testing. In addition, testing models with as large as 16% blockage ratio is feasible within the open-jet facility. This reveals the importance of open-jet facilities as a robust tool to alleviate the scale restrictions involved in physical investigations of flow pattern around civil engineering structures. The results and findings of this study are useful for putting forward recommendations and guidelines for testing protocols at open-jet facilities, eventually helping the progress of enhanced standard provisions on the design of low-rise buildings for wind.

영상처리와 확장칼만필터를 이용한 쿼드로터의 동적 물체 추종 (Dynamic Object Tracking of a Quad-rotor with Image Processing and an Extended Kalman Filter)

  • This paper proposes a new strategy for a quad-rotor to track a moving object efficiently by using image processing and an extended Kalman filter. The goal of path planning for the quad-rotor is to design an optimal path from the start point to the destination point. To lengthen the freight time of the quad-rotor, an optimal path is required to reduce the energy consumption. To track a moving object, the mark signed on the moving object has been detected by a camera mounted first on the quad-rotor. The center coordinates of the mark and its area are calculated through the blob analysis which is one type of image processing. The mark coordinates are utilized to obtain information on the motion direction and the area of the mark is utilized to recognize whether the object moves backward or forward from the camera on the quad-rotor. In addition, an extended Kalman filter has been applied to predict the direction and speed of the dynamically moving object. Through these schemes, it is aimed that the quad-rotor can track the dynamic object efficiently in terms of flight distance and time. Through the two different route freights of the quad-rotor, the performance of the proposed system has been demonstrated.

변형된 레지스터 교환 방식의 비터비 디코더 설계 (Design of Viterbi Decoders Using a Modified Register Exchange Method)

  • 본 논문에서는 비터비 디코더의 디코딩과정에서 trace-forward 과정이후. trace-back 동작 없이 decision bit를 결정 가능한 구조로 설계하여 사용 메모리 크기와 동작 cycle에서 이득을 가지는 변형된 레지스터 교환(modified register exchange) 방식을 제안하였다. 제안된 구조는 시뮬레이션에 의해 trace-back이 있는 기존의 방식과 동일한 결과를 나타냄을 확인하였으며, 변형된 레지스터 교환 방식과 기존의 레지스터 교환 방식, 그리고 trace-back 방식과 비교하였다. 제안한 방식은 다른 방식들에 비해 메모리를 1/(5 x constraint length)로 줄일 수 있고, trace-back 방식에 비해 throughput을 2배 향상시켰다. 변형된 레지스터 교환 방식을 적용한 비터비 디코더의 동작을 검증하기 위해 code rate 2/,3, constraint length, K가 3인 디코더를 radix-4 구조의 1 bit 디코딩 방식으로 설계하여 FPGA(field programmable gate away)를 이용하여 구현하고 측정을 통해 오류 정정 작용을 확인하였다. 또한 블록 디코딩 방식에도 적용할 수 있음을 보였다.

종규칙파중(縱規則波中)에서 수심(水深)이 선체운동(船體運動)에 미치는 영향(影響) (The Finite Depth Effect on the Ship Motion in Longitudinal Regular Head Waves)

  • Recently, as the dimensions of energy carriers increase, especially in draft, a reliable prediction of the ship motions at finite depths of water becomes necessary. The purpose of this paper is to probe the effect of finite water depth on the hydrodynamic forces and ship motions, particularly heave and pitch, in longitudinal regular head waves, by comparing the experimental value of Freakes and Keay with the author's theoretical value obtained by applying the modified strip theory to the Mariner class ship. It is confirmed that generally the hydrodynamic coefficients in the equations of motion increase with decreasing water depth, and the wave exciting forces and moments decrease with decreasing water depth. Amplitudes of heave and pitch in longitudinal regular head waves decrease as the water depth in the range where the length of the incident wave is comparatively long. The effects of Froude Number on the hydrodynamic coefficients increase with decreasing water depth and is more noticeable in the case of heave than pitch. In heave, generally the discrepancy between the experimental value and the theoretical value is relatively small in the case of $F_n=O$, but it is very large in the case of $F_n=0.2$. It is considered that the trend stems from the ignorance of the three dimensional effect and the other effects due to shallowness of water on the hydrodynamic coefficients in the theoretical calculation. An extension of methods for calculating the two dimensional hydrodynamic forces to included the effect of forward speed should be recommended. It is required that more experimental works in finite water depths will be carried out for correlation studies between the theoretical calculation, according tp modified strip theory, and model experiments.

CATV 하향 스트림 적용 시스템에서 동기 검출 방안 및 FPGA 설계 (FPGA Design and Sync-Word Detection of CATV Down-Link Stream Transmission System)

  • 본 논문은 ITU-T 권고안 J-38 부록 B에 명시된 전송방식의 분석 및 시뮬레이션을 토대로 성능을 분석 하였으며 FPGA 구현시 야기되는 문제점을 나타내고, 해결방안을 제시하였다. 구현상의 문제점으로는 크게 두가지로 분류되는데, 첫째로 다양한 부호화 방식과 변조방식 그리고 심볼 단위 및 비트 단위의 처리로 인해 많은 클럭수를 요구하는데 본 논문에서는 read/write 메모리를 이용하여 필요한 클럭수를 줄였다. 둘째로는 펑쳐링 부호화된 TCM 복호기에 펑처링 패턴에 정확한 동기를 얻지 못하면 프레임 동기 심볼인 UW(Unique sync-Word)를 획득하지 못한다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 펑처링 패턴과 UW 심볼의 동기를 맞추는 알고리즘을 제시하였다. 이러한 알고리즘 분석 및 구현상의 문제점 해결을 토대로 본 논문에서는 ITU-T J38 annex B의 하향 스트림 채널 부호화 시스템을 VHDL 언어를 사용하여 FPGA 칩에 직접 구현하였다.
