  • To answer whether it is proper to adopt wetland education as a part of the formal school curriculum, this study analyzed research trends and topics on wetland education and identified cases of adopting wetland education as a part of the formal school curriculum. Analyzing trends and topics on wetlands resulted in a recent shift of the focus of wetland education from the awareness and attitude towards wetlands to the ecological functions and ecosystem services that wetlands provide. In 2002, 18 Contracting Parties of the Ramsar Convention had adopted wetland education in the formal school curriculum. As of August 2020, the number has increased up to 42 countries. The globally increased awareness on the importance of wetlands seems to have led the positive change. Most of the cases analyzed and reflected in this study showed that the curricula were designed and applied not nationally but locally or school basis for efficiency.

  • We investigated on the primary school children's abilities of formal reasoning. Seventy students in grade 5 participated in the study. They responsed their best reactions on the problems constituted of three parts requiring the informal or formal reasoning and generalization. Their reactions are classified by some criteria depending the level of reasoning. About 10 students showed that they constructed a kind of scheme for solving the problems, similar to formal reasoning and beyond naive informal reasoning. And about 30 students did so partially. We concluded that the teaching and learning of reasoning by the progressive increasing the degree of rigor from grade 5 is possible.

  • In order to make new productions; first of all, a creative idea is necessary and significance. For developing new production, a creative thinking must be a first step. In other words, a creative thinking can be a solving a problem. Better education for the formal and unformal education, various information and using space are able to develop ability of problems. Group study can students can find their talents, capacity, gifts, and ability. Also, students help to develop ideas of an individual. Therefore, through an effort to advance computer technology, developing food models in creative ideas for formal and informal education. As a result. good efforts and aspects can be produced.

  • In the 21st century, as the emergence of the age of creative economy is expected, interest in the cultivation of creative talents required in society around the world is newly rising. Sustainable development education should not be limited to school education, but should be promoted and supported at all social education sites for the purpose of lifelong education. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to consider the relationship between the possibility of formal and informal learning and the development of capacity in higher education. Exploratory and qualitative research based on intensive groups was designed using several groups of formal and informal learning settings. In China, the creation of a creative economy is set as a major national policy direction for the new government. What is required for talented people in the creative economy era and how to educate them is becoming a major policy issue. The development of core competencies requires multiple contexts based on cognitive non-cognitive disposition. By combining the formal and informal learning environment within higher education for the purpose of a new learning culture, it can provide a variety of situations and improve competency development. While this study can identify aspects of formal and informal learning settings, the interdependencies between them are still difficult to grasp. However, practical implications can be seen clearly. In other words, based on the results, you can point out key aspects of competency acquisition that can be a key element in the higher education environment. As a result, this study analyzed implications for formal and informal learning environments for new ways of developing core competencies in higher education.

  • This paper considers the Jacobian variety of a hyperelliptic curve over a finite field with mixed symmetric formal type. We present the Newton polygon of the characteristic polynomial of the Frobenius endomorphism of the Jacobian variety. It gives a useful tool for finding the local decomposition of the Jacobian variety into isotypic components.

  • There are informal, semi-formal and formal methods in software specification. Among them, formal method which is based on mathematical theory had been used to remove ambiguity, incompleteness and contradiction efficiently. In this paper, we propose implementation steps from Z specification to EJB source code, Also, as a case study we show steps consisted of specifying stack data structure and implementing it in EJB. In conclusion, Z specification proved to be capable of implementing EJB interface, exception class, method, through refinement and definition of schema, interface, post-condition, pre-condition.

  • The objectives of this study were to investigate the present status and problems of rural youth education, and to recommend desirable directions for improvement of rural youth education in Korea. The major findings of the study were: 1) programs of activities and financial supports for rural youth education were insufficient, 2) linkages of formal education with non-formal education were rather weak, 3) programs for humane characteristics and affective domain development were rare, and 4) opportunities for recreation and leisure, and career guidance were limited. For better rural youth education in the future, this study suggests; 1) the more programs should be made available for rural youths considering their developmental stages, 2) to strengthen the linkages between school education and non-formal education, 3) to give more opportunities for recreation and leisure, 4) to emphasize career guidance opportunities for the rural youths, 5) to develop programs for improving affective and character development, and 6) more governmental support should be given to empower rural youth educations.

  • This study aimed to extract Tao Xingzhi's (陶行知, 1891-1946) ideas about formal education by investigating his school establishment and management practices. Tao Xingzhi established and operated various schools to provide educational opportunities. The objective of his school establishment was to expand the range of subjects. Tao provided whole-person education at his schools, and the subject matter was based on his life education theory. Tao combined teaching, learning, and activity to reform the pedagogical process, and his school operations were institutionalized and democratically managed. These aspects were comprised of Tao's ideas about formal education. Tao's ideas might offer valuable implications for the development of formal education.

  • In this study, we consider the informal and formal definition of limit on the basis of middle and high school curriculum, and then analyze the reason of difficulties experienced when sophomores learn the formal definition(${\epsilon}-{\delta}$ procedure) of limit. We conducted teaching of the formal definition of limit with sophomores and analyzed their errors which were appeared when they applied to limits problems. In addition, we try to improve the understanding of ${\epsilon}-{\delta}$ procedure of the limit taught in analysis.

  • In developing highly reliable systems such as C4I systems formal methods provide both developers and clients with assurance that they are in the right development processes. This paper investigates into techniques for formal specifications and tests for software components where rigorous verification is required. In particular, the paper suggests decomposition techniques for state-model based specifications using the weakest precondition, and suggests test methods for the specification by generating black box test-cases.
