통 문장 암기와 짝 활동을 통한 한국어말하기 향상 융합전략 (A Convergence Strategy of Improving Korean Speaking Skills through Memorizing Whole Sentence and Pair Works)

  • 이 논문에서는 외국학생들이 한국어를 배울 때 통 문장암기방법과 짝 활동이 말하기능력향상에 효과가 있는지를 알아보고자 했다. 먼저 통 문장암기방법에 대한 효과를 다루고 있는 논문의 선행연구를 살펴보았고, 이 연구에서 활용한 학습자의 활동은 주로 외국학생끼리 짝 활동이므로 이에 대한 방법을 설명하였다. 이 활동은 수업시간에 학습자의 한국어 사용빈도를 높이고자 시도했고, 동시에 학습자간에 지속적인 학습을 서로 돕도록 의도했다. 이 융합교수접근법에 힘입어 수업시간에 학습자들의 한국어 활용빈도가 크게 향상되었다. 이는 각 짝을 중국학생과 베트남학생으로 구성하였기 때문에 학습자들은 한국어를 사용할 수밖에 없었기 때문이었다. 이 활동을 통해 학습자들은 서로 격려하고 도움을 줌으로써 외국어학습을 지속적으로 하게하는 동기부여나 힘을 얻을 수 있었다고 설문과 인터뷰에서 밝혔다. 특히 설문조사에서 학생들은 이 융합교수법에 대해 참여 학습자 거의 모두가 만족했음을 보여주었다.

근대적 도시 공원으로서 창경원 (Changgyeongwon as a Modern Urban Park)

  • 이 논문은 창경원을 근대적 도시 공원으로 보고, 창경원의 공간적 성격과 그곳에서 창출된 공원 문화의 특징을 파악하고자 했다. 먼저 창경원 성립의 배경을 파악했으며, 이를 바탕으로 세 가지 측면에서 근대 도시 공원으로서 창경원의 성격을 제시했다. 첫째, 대외적 선전과 과시의 장으로서 창경원의 성격, 특히 개원 초기 해외 사절과 고위 인사들의 방문에 주목했다. 특히 애초에 이곳을 근대적 공원으로 만들고자 계획했던 내용에 바탕을 두고, 근대 도시 공원으로서의 성격을 살펴보았다. 둘째, 계몽과 교화의 장으로서 1920년대 창경원 이용이 보다 대중화 경향을 띠기 시작했다는 점을 파악하고, 여성과 아동을 위한 행사와 새로운 시설의 등장에 주목했다. 셋째, 창경원을 공원으로 인식하고 이용했던 당대의 기록을 조사하여 그 문화적 특징을 파악했다.

아동극 중심의 아동문화예술교육을 위한 앱 개발 연구 (A Play for Children Arts Education for Children in the Center of App Development)

  • 현대 아동교육을 위한 아동극 발전의 중요성은 주 5일제 수업이라는 교육환경 변화로 더욱 높아져 아동의 창의성 향상을 위한 교육적 기능 이외에도 아동들의 정서발달, 언어구사능력을 증진할 수 있는 기능이 있음을 인식하여 아동들을 위한 보다 적극적인 정책 마련이 필요하다. 요즘 스마트폰의 사용이 중고생은 물론 아동들에게까지도 널리 퍼져있는 만큼 아동극에 관련한 모든 정보전달이 가능한 앱을 개발하여 더욱 교육적이고 수준 높은 아동극의 활성화를 기대한다. 현재 아동극은 교육적, 정서적 기능의 가치와 역할을 잃은 채 아울렛이나, 백화점에서 주부고객들을 유치하기 위한 마케팅 전략의 도구로 이용되고 있다. 그들이 허울 좋게 만들어 놓은 아동전용극장은 쇼핑하는 동안 아이를 맡아주는 탁아소와 다를 바 없다. 아동교육기관과 부모들이 아동극에 대한 교육적 가치를 인식함과 더불어 더욱 효과적인 아동극 활성화를 위한 지원 정책이 필요하다. 앱 개발에 앞서 일반 소극장에서 이루어지는 아동극 공연과 관련한 교육적, 질적 차이에 관한 조사가 시급하며, 이에 따른 아동 전문극단에 대한 관리와 아동극에 대한 학술적 연구 또한 필요하다.

인형의상의 문화적 고찰과 디자인 개발 연구 (A Study on the Contemplation and Design Development of Doll's Costume)

  • Dolls which were recognized as children's toys are recently also recognized as one of the cultural products of adult's hobby. Thus this research is about dolls' fashion and the possibility of their industrial expansion. Moreover, the object of the research is to develop and manufacture high quality fashion doll products in Korea which are mostly imported from foreign countries. The research studied the origin and the path of the development of fashion dolls with the history of clothing and special books for dolls. By organizing the character and the fashion of dolls' costumes, the research has a meaning for not only to make an academic approach of dolls' costumes which was insufficient in Korea but also to provide useful information to toy enterprises. The conclusion of this research is as followed. First, dolls have a lot of possibilities to be developed as a high value added cultural product industry by emerging from their children's toy image. Second, since costumes of dolls also have a trend, it is necessary to develop products with the trend to satisfy customer's willing. Third, organization of both the books about the dolls' costumes and the information for their DIY is urgently needed for the domestic fashion doll manias. Forth, the necessity to scheme the expansion of fancy industry has been raise by using dolls' characterization and fashion. Fifth, the researcher who has researched the above necessities has manufactured 8 pieces of dolls' costumes and provided the actual solutions to the each point of the discussions. In sum, I suggest expanding the scope of both research subject and product manufacturing of the research results and also recommend for further researches to develop the products which consumers want.

Value recognition and eating patterns of Kimchi in female middle school students and their mothers

  • This study analyzed Kimchi eating culture in 178 households with female middle school children located in Incheon and Seosan areas, investigated the Kimchi eating patterns of female middle school students, and also analyzed the differences in value recognition for Kimchi between mothers and their female middle school students. Results showed that 23.0% of subject households answered eat Kimchi at every meal and the main reason for eating Kimchi in most households was good for taste. Most households made their own Kimchi, and only 12.3% of households bought Kimchi. Subject households preferred hot and spicy taste (34.8%) and pleasing taste (20.2%), and 44.4% of middle school children answered as eating Kimchi at every meal, and the source for information on Kimchi was home in 51.6% and mass media in 33.7%, suggesting the lack of school education. Both mothers and their female middle school students placed high value on Kimchi for its nutritional aspect and on Kimchi from the market for its convenience. Mothers showed significantly higher value (p<0.05) on the storage aspect of Kimchi compared to their middle school students, and female middle school students showed significantly higher value (p<0.05) on the value recognition for Kimchi as an international food compared to their mothers. Also, the value for hot pepper powder was high among other additional ingredients, and both mothers and middle school students had high values for Kimchi stew among other food dishes using Kimchi, and middle school students showed higher values (p<0.001) on foreign dishes using Kimchi such as Kimchi pizza and Kimchi spaghetti compared to the mothers group. Therefore, based on these results, the development of educational programs on Kimchi is needed not only at home but also at schools, by re-emphasizing the importance of value recognition for Klmchi in our food culture.

학령기 ADHD 아동의 주증상과 관련변인에 관한 메타분석 (Meta Analysis of Variables Related to Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder in School-Age Children)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to use meta-analysis to examine recent domestic articles related to attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in school-age children. Methods: After reviewing 213 articles published between 1990 and 2009 from and cited in RISS, KISS, and DBpia, the researchers identified 24 studies with 440 research variables that had appropriate data for methodological study. SPSS 17.0 program was used. The outcome variables were divided into five types: Inattention, hyperactive impulsive, intrinsic, extrinsic, and academic ability variables. Results: Effects size of overall core symptoms was 0.47 which is moderate level in terms of Cohen criteria and effects size of overall negative variables related ADHD was 0.27 which is small level. The most dominant variable related to ADHD was obtained from hyperactive-impulsive (0.70). Also academic ability (0.45), inattention (0.37), and intrinsic variables (0.29) had a small effect whereas extrinsic variables (0.13) had little effect on descriptive ADHD study. Conclusion: The results reveal that ADHD core symptoms have moderate effect size and peripheral negative variables related ADHD have small effect size. To improve the reliability of the meta-analysis results by minimizing publication bias, more intervention studies using appropriate study designs should be done.

조기 영어교육의 실태와 바람직한 방향 -우리나라 초등학교 영어교육을 중심으로- (The current state of early English education and its more desirable direction)

  • This paper aims to find out the current state of early English education in the world(including Korea) and to suggest its more desirable direction, with special reference to TEFL in elementary schools of Korea. In fact English teaching in elementary schools of Korea has been put into practice as an extracurricular activity since 1982. But in 1995 the Ministry of Education proclaimed a policy to establish a TEFL program as the regular course in elementary schools of Korea since 1997. In this connection, the writer surveyed several kinds of theories about early English education to verify the necessity and validity of Korea's elementary school English education. The logical result from these theories is that younger children are better equipped to learn foreign languages with efficiency than older children or adults. However, as most studies are based on logical inferences rather than on direct observation or experimental evidence, we are not sure that those theories are right. In this view, the writer put stress on the preparation of educational environments to establish a more desirable direction of early English education in Korea, since Korea's elementary school English education will be practiced under EFL environment, not ESL environment. The writer also pointed out some problems of educational finances, the curriculum development process and its content, teaching materials(textbooks and tapes), English teachers, teaching methods, evaluation, educational facilities. This paper concludes that we have to try to solve these problems to succeed in a TEFL program in elementary schools of Korea and suggests several things for a more desirable direction of Korea's elementary school English education.

기존의 창상봉합과 Histoacryl Blue®를 이용한 창상봉합의 비교 분석: 전향적 무작위 임상실험 (Comparing Conventional Suture Method Versus Wound Closure Using Tissue Glue(Histoacryl Blue®): a Prospective Randomized Clinical Trial)

  • Tissue adhesives have gained popularity for quicker and painless closure of lacerations. The use of tissue glue is currently popular for the closure of superficial lacerations, especially in children. Histoacryl $Blue^{(R)}$(2-N-butylcyanoacrylate) is a topical wound closure that precludes the need for foreign bodies to close wounds. The purpose of this study was to compare the applications of Histoacryl $Blue^{(R)}$(HAB) and conventional suture, regarding cosmetic outcome. To compare the short term and long term results of various repair methods, we designed the prospective, randomized, blind study. Patients with laceration undergoing repair were randomly allocated to conventional suture, subcutaneous suture plus HAB, and HAB only groups. The exclusion criterions were large wound that require large tension for repair or avulsion wound. An independent, blinded observer assessed cosmetic result at 7-10 days after repair and 3-9 months postoperatively. Physician's satisfaction with wound appearance was recorded on 100 mm Visual Analogue Scale(VAS)(0=worst, 100=best). The difference in VAS score between conventional suture method and subcutaneous suture plus HAB methods were not significant. Tissue glue being easy to use with no complications and still resulting in equivalent cosmetic outcomes has several benefits. Especially in the case of children, the wound closure with Histoacryl $Blue^{(R)}$ could be a good alternative for repair of laceration in emergency room.

다문화시대 이중언어교육을 위한 교육연극 (Process Drama for Bilingual Education in Multiculturalism)

  • The thesis is to look for the method of applying process drama for bilingual education in multicultural society. This purpose can be resolved in three steps: first, to understand the purposes and functions of education changing to multicultural society; second, to survey the need of bilingual education conformed to its purposes and functions; last, to understand the theoretical background of process drama and seek the method of utilizing it to bilingual education. Recently, the Korean society is also changing to multicultural society with international marriages and immigrant workers. But they have difficulties in communicating in Korean, and their children have even the same. Under the basis of multiculturalism wanting peace and mutual respect between cultural groups, they have to be educated in equality. This is why the bilingual education is needed in our society. Process drama, a widely used term for educational drama in Britain, claims its effectiveness for L1, L2 and bilingual education, for the principal medium in drama is language and what drama delivers is related to meaningful human experiences. It is also supported on script theory of linguistic therapy. Kase-Polisini classifies the developmental process of education drama into 1) planning, 2) playing and 3) evaluation. This process can be applied to educational drama for language as well. Rather, educational drama applying to bilingual education has even more availability with the varieties of group organization and subject matter. Conclusively speaking, the group of dual language schools can be organized into 1) mother-tongued group, 2) mother-tongued and L2 group, 3) multilingual group, or 4) L3 group in educational drama activity, as the class generally consist of the mixed multilingual children. And the subject matter can deal with 1) the Korean society and culture, 2) the society and culture of the purposed language country, or 3) the society and culture of the third nations.

  • 저자들은 최근 약 30년전 치과에서 발치도중 치아 흡인되었으나 환자가 모르고 지내오다 5개월 전부터 시작된 좌상부 흉통을 주소로 내원, 폐엽절제술후 치아 흡인으로 인한 기관지폐쇄로 확인된 1예를 경험하였기에 문헌고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다.
