접힘홈이 형성된 띠형 섬유보강재의 크리프 감소계수 평가 (Evaluation of Creep Reduction Factor for Geosynthetic Strip Reinforcement with Folding Grooves)

  • 본 연구에서는 접힘홈이 형성된 띠형 섬유보강재를 대상으로, 보강재 종류 및 크리프시험 방법에 따른 크리프특성을 분석하고 크리프 감소계수를 평가하기 위하여 인장강도가 다른 6종류의 띠형 섬유보강재(인장강도 15kN, 25kN, 35kN, 50kN, 70kN, 90kN)에 대한 가속 크리프시험(SIM)을 수행하였다. 또한, 특히 활용 빈도가 높은 인장강도 25kN인 띠형 섬유보강재에 대해서는 장기 크리프시험을 동시에 수행하여 가속 크리프시험 결과와 비교, 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 보강재의 설계수명이 증가할수록 크리프 감소계수가 증가하고, 동일한 소재와 제조방법을 사용한 띠형 섬유보강재는 인장강도가 서로 다르더라도 설계수명에 따라 거의 유사한 크리프 감소계수값을 보여주며, 장기 및 가속 크리프시험 데이터를 모두 사용한 경우의 크리프 감소계수는 장기 크리프시험 데이터만 사용한 경우보다 설계수명 50년~100년을 고려하면 크리프 감소계수가 5.9%~7.1% 정도 작게 평가됨을 알 수 있었다.

개화형상을 모사한 가항력 돛 수납최적화 (Optimization of Drag-sail Storage Inspired from Blossom Method)

  • 본 논문에서는 drag-sail의 수납 효율을 높이기 위해 새로운 접기 방법인 blossom method를 제안하였다. 가항력 돛을 접을수록 두께가 늘어남에 따라 발생하는 문제점을 해결하기 위해 접히는 라인에 여유 공간(offset)을 주고, offset film 라인이 교차하는 지점에는 구멍을 뚫어 film의 일그러짐을 방지하였다. 또한, blossom method의 적용 가능성을 확인하기 위해 mylar film으로 제작하여 전개 실험을 수행하였다. Blossom method를 적용할 경우, 수납부피 대비 전개면적 비인 수납비는 1: 68.64로 기존의 가항력 돛 접기 방법인 z-fold method보다 약 1.88배 향상되었으며, 전개 실험 결과 구멍이나 jamming에 의한 손상이 없는 것을 확인하였다.

감물염색가공에 따른 줌치한지 종이소재의 강도 변화 -감물염색가공 여부와 감물농도 차이에 따른 변화- (The Strength Properties of Jumchi-Hanji Papers Dyed with Persimmon Juice)

  • This study analyzed differences between Jumchi-Hanji papers not dyed and dyed with persimmon juice (50% concentration) in five strength properties (tensile, wet tensile, tearing, bursting, and folding strengths). For the analysis, the undyed and the dyed Jumchi-Hanji papers were made by Jumchichigi during 40 minutes and made with the Dakji of different layer (a layer, two layers) and Choji method (Oebal-teugi, Ssangbal-teugi). Differences between Jumchi-Hanji papers dyed with the different concentration of persimmon juice (20% vs 70%) in the five strengths were also identified. For this examination, Jumchi-Hanji papers were made with two layer Dakji (Oebal-teugi Choji method) and by Jumchichigi during 60 minutes. Jumchi-Hanji papers made in this study were used as test samples. As a result, Jumchi-Hanji papers dyed with persimmon juice had higher tensile strength (CD), wet tensile strength (MD, CD), and bursting strength than those of undyed Jumchi-Hanji papers. However, tearing strengths (MD, CD) of dyed Jumchi-Hanji papers were lower than undyed Jumchi-Hanji papers. Folding strengths (CD) of dyed Jumchi-Hanji papers were low but the folding strengths (MD) of them were high compared to undyed Jumchi-Hanji papers. In addition, the concentration of persimmon juice influenced the five strength properties of Jumchi-Hanji. The tensile, wet tensile, and bursting strengths of Jumchi-Hanji papers dyed with a 70% concentration were higher than those one of Jumchi-Hanji papers dyed with a 30% concentration while the tearing and folding strengths of Jumchi-Hanji papers dyed with a 70% concentration were lower than Jumchi-Hanji papers dyed with a 30% concentration.

Short-duration Electron Precipitation Studied by Test Particle Simulation

  • Energy spectra of electron microbursts from 170 keV to 340 keV have been measured by the solid-state detectors aboard the low-altitude (680 km) polar-orbiting Korean STSAT-1 (Science and Technology SATellite). These measurements have revealed two important characteristics unique to the microbursts: (1) They are produced by a fast-loss cone-filling process in which the interaction time for pitch-angle scattering is less than 50 ms and (2) The e-folding energy of the perpendicular component is larger than that of the parallel component, and the loss cone is not completely filled by electrons. To understand how wave-particle interactions could generate microbursts, we performed a test particle simulation and investigated how the waves scattered electron pitch angles within the timescale required for microburst precipitation. The application of rising-frequency whistler-mode waves to electrons of different energies moving in a dipole magnetic field showed that chorus magnetic wave fields, rather than electric fields, were the main cause of microburst events, which implied that microbursts could be produced by a quasi-adiabatic process. In addition, the simulation results showed that high-energy electrons could resonate with chorus waves at high magnetic latitudes where the loss cone was larger, which might explain the decreased e-folding energy of precipitated microbursts compared to that of trapped electrons.

복합재료 반사판 안테나의 전개 메커니즘 설계 및 시험 (Design and Test of a Deployment Mechanism for the Composite Reflector Antenna)

  • 여러 패널들로 파라볼라 반사판 형상을 가지는, 전개형 복합재료 안테나의 동적 특성을 수치적 그리고 실험적으로 살펴보고자 한다. 전개 장치들은 여러 패널들이 작은 공간에 효과적으로 수납될 수 있도록 설계하였다. 반사판 패널의 개수, 패널들의 폴딩(folding)/트위스팅(twisting) 각도, 그리고 전개 작동기 등의 특성을 고려하여 전개시 필요한 설계변수를 결정하였고, 반사판 패널은 CFRP(carbon fiber reinforced plastics)으로 제작하였다. 무중력 전개장치를 제작하여 반사판 안테나의 전개시험을 수행하였고, 동적 전개특성을 관찰하였다.

  • In this paper, we applied composite material of high specific stiffness and strength to the fabrication of a folding wheelchair frame for the replacement of conventional metal wheelchair frames. A one-body composite frame was designed and the finite element analysis was performed on this design. Some specimens of joint parts were manufactured and strength test was done. With the results of analysis and test, some modification was done and a prototype was produced.

Problem Analysis and Recommendations for Using Manual Wheelchair for One-hand Users

  • Objective: This study was conducted for one-hand users including hemiplegic clients currently using general folding manual wheelchairs, so as to analyze their specific problems and recommend solutions regarding usage. Background: Traditional manual wheelchairs require considerable use and control of both hands for operation, thus adaptations become necessary for individuals with asymmetrical use of hands. Method: Thirty hemiplegic clients who were admitted to rehabilitation and convalescent hospitals participated as subjects. The research tools were general folding manual wheelchairs commonly used by people with impaired gait, and the Wheelchair Skills Tests (WST) WST-M/WCU 4.1 version was adopted as the assessment tool. All participants were asked to fill out questionnaires on demographics and wheelchair usage characteristics. Assessment procedures were performed with currently used manual wheelchairs and with/without the use of foot to control the wheelchair. Results: When the participants drove folding manual wheelchairs without the use of foot, even the lowest failure rate among the WST items tested recorded 96.7%. On the contrary, with the use of foot in maneuvering the wheelchairs, failure rates dropped noticeably and success rate among the WST items tested was as high as 86.7%. Conclusion: These findings imply that the use of one-arm (hand) propellable (drivable) wheelchair can be an active and effective solution in resolving problems for hemiplegic clients using existing manual wheelchairs. As such, the government should provide institutional support to further develop and distribute this device or technology, and promote relative research in tandem. For now, the supply of commercially available device to hemiplegic clients is deemed urgent and also a mechanism to provide the devices and relevant services. Application: This study offers viable solutions for hemiplegic clients who rely on existing manual wheelchairs to increase their mobility and occupational performance.

공기력 및 구속 효과를 고려한 접힘 날개 전개 성능 분석 (Analysis of Folding Wing Deployment with Aero and Restraint Effects)

  • 최근 다수의 유도무기는 공간 효율성을 위해 접힘 날개를 적용하고 있다. 날개의 전개과정 중에 작용하는 공기력은 날개 전개 성능에 많은 영향을 주기 때문에, 일반적으로 CFD 해석을 통하여 공력계수를 산출한다. 이와 다른 방법으로 Missile Datcom을 이용하여, 날개의 전개 과정을 날개 상반각 변화로 가정하여 입력하면, 빠르고 간편하게 CFD 해석 결과와 근접한 공력계수 산출이 가능하다. 또한 동체에 돌출부가 존재하는 경우 날개를 서로 포개어 접어야 되는 상황이 발생할 수 있고, 전개과정 중에 한쪽 날개가 다른 쪽 날개의 전개 과정을 방해 또는 도와주게 되는 구속효과가 발생하게 된다. 따라서 공기력 효과 및 구속 효과를 고려하여 날개의 초기구속 여부 판단 기준과 전개 거동 특성을 수식화 하였고, 날개 전개 성능 분석을 수행하였으며, 성능 분석 결과를 풍동 시험 데이터와 비교하였다. 날개의 전개 성능은 풍동시험에서 나타난 전개 취약 풍향을 정확하게 예측하였다.

냉장고 동작부품의 소음특성 분석을 통한 감성품질 개선 (Evaluation of Sound Quality for Ergonomic Design of Movable Parts in a Refrigerator)

  • We propose a method for evaluating sound quality quantitatively to develop high-level home appliances (HA). Generally, a refrigerator has diverse movable parts such as slider, drawer, and folding shelf. Therefore, an engineering treatment to control the noise quality is considered as one of key technologies for a higher level refrigerator. Among the movable parts, we have selected a folding shelf as an example, which is commonly setup inside of a home refrigerator for increasing space convenience, to control the noise quality. However, it is known that its noise level is very high comparing to other movable parts when folding or unfolding actions. In order to evaluate and compare the noise quality, we have tested different eighteen models, and have suggested an impact sound quality index (ISQI) based on subjective evaluation data obtained experimentally by thirty two evaluators. The ISQI was formulated using three sound quality elements (noise peak, raising time, impact duration) to determine psycho-acoustic properties. Through this work, we developed an evaluating process and ISQI that was verified the usefulness by comparing the test results of personal perceptions given by evaluators with the prediction value of ISQI. We showed a good relations between them, so we believe that the proposed method and ISQI can be utilized to control of the noise quality of HA effectively.

CNUSAIL-1 큐브위성의 태양돛 개발 및 성능시험 (Development and Performance Test of Solar Sail System for CNUSAIL-1 Cube Satellite)

  • CNUSAIL-1은 $4m^2$ 크기의 태양돛을 탑재한 3U 크기의 큐브위성이며, 주 임무는 지구 저궤도에서 태양돛을 성공적으로 전개하고 태양돛을 이용해 Drag Sail을 실현하는 것이다. 또한, 이에 따른 자세와 궤도에 대한 영향을 확인하는 임무를 수행한다. 본 논문에서는 CNUSAIL-1의 태양돛에 사용되는 박막과 붐의 재질과 물성치에 관련된 실험을 수행하며, 이를 통해 태양돛 박막의 반사율/투과율 요구도를 확인하고, 박막과 붐의 인장강도를 측정함으로서 지구 저궤도 환경에서의 돛 전개 시 발생가능 응력에 대한 안전성을 확인한다. 또한, 태양돛의 전개장치를 개발 제작하여 우주환경을 모사한 지상시험을 수행함으로서 태양돛 전개의 가능성을 검증하였으며, 태양돛의 탑재와 접기 방법에 따라 비교 전개하는 실험을 통하여 접기방법을 결정하고, Spiral spring 두께에 따른 전개실험과 각속도 시험을 수행하여 실제 전개 시에 생길 수 있는 위성체에 대한 영향성 등을 살펴보았다.
