Current Limiting and Voltage Sag Suppressing Characteristics of Flux-lock Type SFCL According to Variations of Turn Number's Ratio (자속구속형 초전도전류제한기의 권선비 변화에 따른 전류제한 및 전압강하 보상 특성)

  • In this paper, we investigated the fault current limiting and the load voltage sag suppressing characteristics of the flux-lock type SFCL, designed with the additive polarity winding, according to the variations of turn number's ratio and the comparative analysis between the resistive type and the flux-lock type SFCLs were performed as well. From the analysis for the short-circuit tests, the flux-lock type SFCL designed with the larger turn number's ratio was shown to perform more effective fault current limiting and load voltage sag suppressing operations compared to the flux-lock type SFCL designed with the lower turn number's ratio through the fast quench occurrence of the high-$T_C$ superconducting (HTSC) element comprising the flux-lock type SFCL. In addition, the recovery time of the flux-lock type SFCL after the fault removed could be confirmed to be shorter in case of the flux-lock type SFCL designed with the lower turn number ratio.

  • Pulsed-PECVD를 이용하여 상온에서 실리콘 나이트라이드(SiN) 박막을 증착하였다. 본 연구에서는, 60-100%의 duty ratio 변화에 따른 굴절률을 살펴보고, 굴절률에 대한 이온에너지의 영향을 분석했다. RF 소스파워는 900W로 고정하였고 $SiH_4-N_2$를 이용하였다. 이온에너지에 대한 정보는 non-invasive 이온 분석기를 이용하여 수집하였다. 측정된 이온에너지 변수는 high ion energy, low ion energy, high ion energy flux, low ion energy flux이며, 이를 이용해 또 다른 변수인 ion energy flux ratio를 계산하였다. Duty ratio의 감소에 따라 굴절률은 일반적으로 감소하였다. 또한 duty ratio의 감소에 따라 high ion energy는 증가하였다. 한편, 60-80%에서 굴절률은 이온에너지 flux의 비에 강한 의존성을 보였으며, 60%를 제외한 모든 duty ratio 구간에서 굴절률은 Nl에 강하게 영향을 알고 있는 것으로 유추되었다. 굴절률은 1.508와 1.714 사이에서 변화하였다.

Three-Winning Transformer Protection Based on Flux Linkage Ratio (쇄교자속비를 이용한 3권선 변압기 보호)

  • This paper describes a three-winding transformer protective relaying algorithm based on the ratio of increments of flux linkages (RIFL). To minimize the approximation errors, the algorithm uses integration approximation. The RIFL of the two windings is equal to the turns ratio for all operating conditions except for an internal fault. For a single-phase and three-phase transformer containing the wye-connected windings, the increments of flux linkages (IFL) are calculated. For a three-phase transformer containing the delta-connected windings, the difference of IFL between the two phases are calculated to use the line currents, because the winding currents are practically unavailable. Their ratios are compared with the turns ratio. The comparative study between the proposed and differential approximation methods was conducted. The test results show that the algorithm can reduce the errors resulting from the conventional methods.

  • This paper describes a transformer protective relaying algorithm based on the ratio of increments of flux linkages (RIFL) of the primary and secondary windings. The algorithm uses integration approximation. The RIFL is equal to the turns ratio for all operating conditions except for an internal fault. For a single-phase transformer and a Y-Y transformer, the increments of flux linkages (IFL) are calculated. For a Y-$\Delta$ transformer, the difference of IFL are calculated to use the line currents rather than the delta winding currents, which are unavailable. Their ratios are compared with the turns ratio. The comparative study between the proposed and conventional differentiation approximation methods was conducted. The test results show that the algorithm reduces the approximation errors of the conventional methods.

  • In this paper, the fault current limiting characteristics of a flux-lock type superconducting fault current limiter (SFCL) with peak current limiting function were analyzed through its short-circuit tests. The setting condition for the peak current limiting operation was derived from its electrical equivalent circuit, which was dependent on the inductance ratio between the third coil and the first coil. Through the analysis on the short-circuit tests for the flux-lock type SFCLs with the different inductance ratio between the third coil and the first coil, the setting value for the peak current limiting operation of the flux-lock type SFCL with peak current limiting function could be confirmed to be adjusted with the variation of the inductance ratio between the third coil and the first coil.

  • The purpose of this investigation was to characterize nucleate boiling and burn-out heat flux for rectangular free jet with saturated water impinging perpendicularly and upward against a flat uniform heat flux surface. Heat flux measured for Reynolds number based on rectangular nozzle width and for aspect ratio. The result of nucleate boiling heat transfer was presented nondimensional experimental equation including Nusselt, Boiling, Subcooling, Reynolds and Weber number. The effect of aspect ratio of heated surface in the burn-out heat flux had not appeared distinctly. But for the same aspect ratio, burn-out heat flux increased linearly with increment of nozzle exit velocity.

  • 펄스-플라즈마를 이용하여 상온에서 실리콘나이트라이드 박막을 제조하였다. 증착 중에 이온에너지 분석기를 이용하여 이온에너지와 이온에너지, flux를 측정하였다. Duty ratio는 30~90%까지 변화시키면서, 이온에너지와 굴절률의 관계를 연구하였다. Duty ratio의 감소에 따라 이온에너지는 증가하였다. 낮은 Duty ratio의 범위에서 이온에너지 flux의 변화가 현저하였다. 굴절율은 Duty ratio의 변화에 따라 복잡하게 변화하였지만 $N_h$과의 강한 상관성을 보였다. 전체 Duty ratio의 변화에 대해 굴절률은 1.819에서 1.846으로 미미하게 변화하였다.

A New Direct Torque Control Scheme of an Induction Motor Using Duty Ratio Modulation

  • The direct torque control (DTC) scheme features a simple structure thanks to stator flux-oriented control. It has the advantage of robustness against motor parameters variation since only the stator resistance is involved in the control scheme. On the other hand, the disadvantage of DTC is large torque ripple. To reduce the torque ripple, many studies on DTC-space vector modulation (DTC-SVM) schemes, which modulate the duty ratio with a fixed switching cycle, have been proposed. However, there is the difficulty in obtaining the duty ratio for DTC-SVM. Hence, this paper proposes a new duty ratio selection and stator flux calculation methods for reducing torque ripple. Simulations and experiments were carried out to determine the validity of the proposed method. The proposed scheme has simplified the duty ratio command and achieved the same control performance as the conventional duty ratio modulation method without using the information of motor parameters.

  • This paper presents a DTC-PWM(Direct Torque Control-Pluse Width Modulation) method of PMSM(Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor) using the flux-torque hysteresis band. In order to keep the flux and torque error of the PMSM within the hysteresis band, the optimal PWM duty ratio is calculated by the error of the flux and torque with the flux and torque vector of the selected voltage vector. According to the flux duty ratios and the torque duty ratios, the optimized duty ratio to reduce the errors is selected by the calculated duty ratios. In the proposed method, the selected voltage vector is divided into d-q axis components with a simple method. And the flux duty ratios and torque duty ratios are estimated by the applied voltage vector. The proposed DTC-PWM for PMSM was verified by computer simulation.

Vertical Variation of the Particle Flux in the Eastern Tropical Pacific from 2009 to 2010 (동태평양 열대해역에서 2009-2010년 침강입자 플럭스의 수직 변화)

  • A sediment trap had been deployed at 1250 m depth in the Eastern Tropical Pacific (ETP) from September 2009 to July 2010, with the aim of understanding the temporal and vertical variability of particle flux. During the monitoring period, total particle flux varied from 12.4 to 101.0 mg m-2day-1, with the higher fluxes in January-March 2010. Biogenic particle flux varied in phase with the total particle flux. The increase in total particle flux during January-March 2010 was attributed to the enhanced biological production in the surface layer caused by wind-driven mixing in response to the seasonal shifts in the location of the Intertropical convergence zone. The export ratio (e-ratio) was estimated using the particulate organic carbon flux and satellite-derived net primary production data. The estimated e-ratios changed between 0.8% and 2.8% (1.4±0.6% on average). The ratio recorded in the negative phase of Pacific decadal oscillation (PDO) was similar to the previous results obtained from the ETP during the 1992/93 periods in the positive phase of PDO. This suggests that the regime shift of the PDO is not related to the carbon export ratio.
