The standardized eddy covariance flux data processing in KoFlux has been updated, and its database has been amended accordingly. KoFlux data users have not been informed properly regarding these changes and the likely impacts on their analyses. In this paper, we have documented how the current structure of data processing in KoFlux has been established through the changes and improvements to ensure transparency, reliability and usability of the KoFlux database. Due to increasing diversity and complexity of flux site instrumentation and organization, we have re-implemented the previously ignored or simplified procedures in data processing (e.g., frequency response correction, stationarity test), and added new methods for $CH_4$ flux gap-filling and $CO_2$ flux correction and partitioning. To evaluate the effects of the changes, we processed the data measured at a flat and homogeneous paddy field (i.e., HPK) and a deciduous forest in complex and heterogeneous topography (i.e., GDK), and quantified the differences. Based on the results from our overall assessment, it is confirmed that (1) the frequency response correction (HPK: 11~18% of biases for annually integrated values, GDK: 6~10%) and the stationarity test (HPK: 4~19% of biases for annually integrated values, GDK: 9~23%) are important for quality control and (2) the minimization of the missing data and the choice of the appropriate driver (rather than the choice of the gap-filling method) are important to reduce the uncertainty in gap-filled fluxes. These results suggest the future directions for the data processing technology development to ensure the continuity of the long-term KoFlux database.
Micrometeorlogical and upper air observation have been conducted in order to determine the atmospheric boundary layer depth based on data from satellite and automatic weather systems. Terra/MODIS temperature profiles and sensible heat fluxes from the gradient method were used to estimate the mixed layer height over a coastal region. Results of the integral model were in good agreement with the mixed layer height observed using GPS radiosonde at Wolsung ($35.72^{\circ}N$, $129.48^{\circ}E$). Since the variation of the mixed layer height depends on the surface sensible heat flux, the integral model estimated properly the mixed layer height in the daytime. The buoyant heat flux, which is more important than the sensible heat flux in the coastal region, must be taken into consideration to improve the integral model. The vertical structure of atmospheric boundary layer can be analyzed only with the routine data and the satellite data.

In this study, seasonal variations of the dry deposition velocity and deposition flux for the sulfur dioxide were analysed. The field observation was performed during one year (from November 1, 1995 to October 31, 1996) in Chunchon basin. The turbulence data were measured by 3-dimensional sonic anemometer/thermometer, and were estimated by mean meteorological data obtained at two heights (2.5 m and 10 m) of meteorological tower. Also, the estimation methods were evaluated by comparing the turbulence data. The results showed that the estimated dry deposition velocity and turbulence parameter such as uc and sensible heat flux using mean meteorological data were relatively similar to the sonic measurements, but all showed somewhat large differences. The dry deposition velocity was large in summer and small in winter mainly due to canopy resistance (rc). The major factor which affects diurnal variation of the velocity was aerodynamic resistance (rw). The SO2 dry deposition flux was large in winter and small in summer in Chunchon.
The systems-level analysis of microbes with myriad of heterologous data generated by omics technologies has been applied to improve our understanding of cellular function and physiology and consequently to enhance production of various bioproducts. At the heart of this revolution resides in silico genome-scale metabolic model, In order to fully exploit the power of genome-scale model, a systematic approach employing user-friendly software is required. Metabolic flux analysis of genome-scale metabolic network is becoming widely employed to quantify the flux distribution and validate model-driven hypotheses. Here we describe the development of an upgraded MetaFluxNet which allows (1) construction of metabolic models connected to metabolic databases, (2) calculation of fluxes by metabolic flux analysis, (3) comparative flux analysis with flux-profile visualization, (4) the use of metabolic flux analysis markup language to enable models to be exchanged efficiently, and (5) the exporting of data from constraints-based flux analysis into various formats. MetaFluxNet also allows cellular physiology to be predicted and strategies for strain improvement to be developed from genome-based information on flux distributions. This integrated software environment promises to enhance our understanding on metabolic network at a whole organism level and to establish novel strategies for improving the properties of organisms for various biotechnological applications.
This study presents meteorological data integrity to improve environmental quality assessment in Yongdam catchment. The study examines both extreme ranges of meteorological data measurements and data reliability which include maximum and minimum temperature, relative humidity, dew point temperature, radiation, heat flux. There were some outliers and missing data from the measurements. In addition, the latent heat flux and sensible heat flux data were not reasonable and evapotranspiration data did not match at some points. The accuracy and consistency of data stored in a database for the study were secured from the data integrity. Users need to take caution when using meteorological data from the Yongdam catchment in the preparation of water resources planning, environmental impact assessment, and natural hazards analysis.

In this study, In order to evaluate reliable of MODIS GPP, the MODIS GPP and Flux tower measured GPP were compared to evaluate the use of method on 8 days composite MODIS GPP. The 2008 Flux data ($CO_2$ Flux and air temperature) measured in Seolmacheon watershed ($8.48\;km^2$) were used. The Flux tower GPP was estimated as the sum of $CO_2$ Flux and $R_{ec}$ (ecosystem respiration) by Lloyd and Taylor method (1994). The summer Monsoon period from June to August mostly contributed the underestimation of MODIS GPP by cloud contamination on MODIS pixels. The 2008 MODIS GPP and Flux tower GPP of the watershed were $1133.2\;g/m^2/year$ and $1464.3\;g/m^2/year$ respectively and the determination coefficient ($R^2$) after correction of cloud-originated errors was 0.74 (0.63 before correction). Even though effect of Cloud-Originated Errors was eliminated, Solar radiation and Temperature are affected at GPP. Measurement of correct GPP is difficult. But, If errors of MODIS GPP analyze on Cloud Moonsoon Climate in korea and eliminated effect of Cloud-Originated Errors, MODIS GPP will be considered GPP increasing of 9 %. There, Our results indicate that MODIS GPP show reliable and useful data except for summer period in Moonsoon Climate.
Prediction method of permeation flux and sorption characteristics in pervaporation through a polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS) memrane was suggested. The amount of sorption and permeation flux of chloroform, toluene, methanol and n-butanol were calculated with this method and compared with this method and compared with experimetal data. The calculated values of permeation flux and the amount of sorption of good solvents, that is, toluene and chloroform were well agreed with the experimental data. The lower the density of PDMS membrane is, the more permeation flux and sorption quantity were increased. However, the experimental data of poor solvents, that is, methanol and n-butanol were no so well agreed with the calculated values. It is shown that the prediction method suggested in this study may be used without experimetnal for the prediction of permeation flux and sorption quantity of the good solvent on PDMS membrane.

In this study, condensation heat transfer tests were conducted in flat aluminum multi-channel tubes using R-22. Two internal geometries were tested ; one with smooth inner surface and the other with micro-fins. Data are presented for the followin~ range of variables ; vapor quality($0.1{\sim}0.9$), mass flux($200{\sim}600kg/m^2s$) and heat flux($5{\sim}15kW/m^2$). The micro-fin tube showed higher heat transfer coefficients compared with those of the smooth tube. The difference increased as the vapor quality increased. Surface tension force acting on the micro-fin surface at the high vapor quality is believed to be responsible. Different from the trends of the smooth tube, where the heat transfer coefficient increased as the mass flux increased, the heat transfer coefficient of the micro-fin tube was independent of the mass flux at high vapor quality, which implies that the surface tension effect on the fin overwhelms the vapor shear effect at the high vapor quality. Present data(except those at low mass flux and high quality) were well correlated by equivalent Reynolds number, Existing correlations overpredicted the present data at high mass flux.

In this work, pool boiling heat transfer coefficients(HTCs) of 5 refrigerants of differing vapor pressure are measured on horizontal smooth square surface of 9.52 mm length. Tested refrigerants are R123, R152a, R134a, R22, and R32 and HTCs are taken from $10\;kW/m^2$ to critical heat flux of each refrigerant. Wall and fluid temperatures are measured directly by thermocouples located underneath the test surface and by thermocouples in the liquid pool. Test results show that pool boiling HTCs of refrigerants increase as the heat flux and vapor pressure increase. This typical trend is maintained even at high heat fluxes above $200\;kW/m^2$. Zuber's prediction equation for critical heat flux is quite accurate showing a maximum deviation of 21% for all refrigerants tested. For all refrigerant data up to the critical heat flux, Stephan and Abdelsalam's well known correlation underpredicted the data with an average deviation of 21.3% while Cooper's correlation overpredicted the data with an average deviation of 14.2%. On the other hand, Gorenflo's and lung et al.'s correlation showed only 5.8% and 6.4% deviations respectively in the entire nucleate boiling range.
The objective of this work is to investigate the effect of chemical enhancer and current on the flux of donepezil hydrochloride (DH) through skin. Ethanol and N-methyl pyrrolidone (NMP) were used as chemical enhancers in combination with iontophoresis. We also have studied the effect of pH on flux and evaluated the role of electroosmosis. In vitro flux study was performed at $33^{\circ}C$, using side-by-side diffusion cell and full thickness hairless mouse skin. Passive flux of DH without enhancer was very small. As the concentration of enhancer increased, passive flux increased. After current application, flux increased markedly and the time to reach maximum decreased. Without enhancer, maximum flux was about 50 fold larger than that obtained without current. These results indicate that electromigration is playing a major role for the transport. As the enhancer concentration increased, flux also increased. NMP and ethanol increased not only the passive delivery, but also the iontophoretic delivery. Flux results indicate that ethanol has better ability than NMP in enhancing the transport of DH. The magnitudes of increase in flux by these enhancers indicate that there is a large synergistic effect in flux enhancement. Flux results from pH study showed that electroosmotic flow is reversed at low pH and the flux is hindered. These results provided some information on the flux enhancing ability of ethanol and NMP in combination with iontophoresis. The data also provided some mechanistic insights into the role of electromigration and electroosmosis on flux through skin.
