1960-70년대 뉴욕의 한국작가: 이주, 망명, 디아스포라의 미술 (Art of Dislocation, Exile, and Diaspora: Korean Artists in New York in the 1960s and 1970s)

  • This paper examines a number of Korean artists-Whanki Kim, Po Kim, Byungki Kim, Lim Choong-Sup, Min Byung-Ok and etc-working in New York in the 1960s and 1970s, focusing on their motivations to head for the U.S. and their life and activity in the newly-emerged city of international art. The thesis was conceived based upon the fact that New York has been one of the major venues for Korean artists in which to live, study, travel and stay after the Korean War. Moreover, the United States, since 1945, has had a tremendous influence upon Korea politically, socially, economically, and, above all, culturally. This study is divided into three major sections. The first one attends to the reasons that these artists moved out of Korea while including in this discussion, the long-standing yearning of the Korean intelligentsia to experience more modernized cultures, and American postwar cultural policies that stimulated them to envision life beyond their national parameters, in a country heavily entrenched in Cold War ideology. The second part examines these artists' pursuit of abstraction in New York where it was already losing its avant-garde status as opposed to the style's cutting edge cache in Korea. While their turn to abstraction was outdated from New York's critical perspective, it was seen to be de rigueur for Koreans that had developed through phases from Art Informel in the 1960s to Dansaekhwa (monochromatic paintings) in the 1970s. The third part focuses on the artists' struggle while caught between a dualistic framework such as Korea/U.S, East/West, center/margin, traditional/modern, and abstraction/figuration. Despite such dichotomic frames, they identified abstract art as the epitome of pure, absolute art, which revealed their beliefs inherited from western modernism during the colonial period before 1910-1945. In fact, their reality as immigrants in America put them in a diasporic space where they oscillated between the fixed, essentialist Korean identity and the floating, transforming identity as international artists in New York or Korean-American artists. Thus their abstract and semi-abstract art reflect the in-between identity from the diasporic space while demonstrating their yearning for a land of political freedom, intellectual fulfillment and the continuity of modern art's legacy imposed upon them over the course of Korea's tumultuous history in the twentieth century and making the artists as precursor of transnational, transcultural art of the global age in the twenty-first century.

  • ${\ulcorner}$Hwangje-Naegyeong${\lrcorner}$ described Tae Hue(太虛) cosmos which consist of the Great Gi(大氣) produce ${\ulcorner}$Hwangje-Naegyeong${\lrcorner}$ which affected by the theory of activity of Gi(氣化說) in the Han period represent that Tae Hue is spring head of Gi(氣), concurrently said the Time and the Space were established by operating of Gi(氣). As of the Theories of heavenly structure, ${\ulcorner}$Hwangje-Naegyeong${\lrcorner}$ was write in long perod, so it include three branch theory. ${\ulcorner}$Hwangje-Naegyeong${\lrcorner}$ contained the Hypothesis of Covering Heaven(蓋天說), the Hypothesis of Armillary Sphere(渾天說) and the Hypothesis of Chaosheavens(宣夜說) in the Han perod. The Hypothesis of Covering Heaven(蓋天說) means that the sky is round and the ground falls Square(天圓地方). ${\ulcorner}$Hwangje-Naegyeong${\lrcorner}$ involve the Hypothesis of Covering Heaven by the fact that it divide heaven and earth by top and bottom. The Hypothesis of Armillary Sphere(蓋天說) is not directly appeared in ${\ulcorner}$Hwangje-Naegyeong${\lrcorner}$. But ${\ulcorner}$Hwangje-Naegyeong${\lrcorner}$ include the Hypothesis of Armillary Sphere by the astronomical observation and understand the universe with interior-exterior viewpoint. ${\ulcorner}$Hwangje-Naegyeong${\lrcorner}$ describe the circulation of the universe (周天度數) at 365 1/4 terms, the length of daytime and night of the vernal equinox and the autumnal equinox is same and use the The Twenty Eight Constellations by the ecliptic(黃道). It prove that ${\ulcorner}$Hwangje-Naegyeong${\lrcorner}$ observes the celestial body according to the Hypothesis of Armillary Sphere. The Hypothesis of Chaosheavens(宣夜說) appears most is the theory which lately. ${\ulcorner}$Hwangje-Naegyeong${\lrcorner}$ describe Tae Hue(太虛) infinite outer space and the earth is floating by Gi(氣). This with the Hypothesis of Chaosheavens is similar from like this point.

  • 토양에서 분리한 구형의 내독소단백질을 가지는 18개의 균주 중, 이집트숲모기와 지하집모기에 90%이상의 살충활성을 보이는 Bacillus thuringiensis subsp. israelensis CAB199 균주를 선발하였다. 이 균주는 습지에 발생한 이나도미집모기에도 높은 살충효과를 나타내었다. 모기유충의 행동패턴은 주로 호흡을 위해 수면에서 주로 활동하고 있어, Bti 균주를 유효성분으로 하는 제제가 수면 위에 장시간 부유 할 수 있는 제형을 선발하고자 하였다. 수화제와 액상수화제의 두 가지 형태의 제형을 만들어 실내에서의 살충효과 및 습지에서의 방제효과를 확인한 결과, 실내에서의 경우에는 액상수화제 제형이 실험한 3종의 모기유충에 대해 속효적이며 높은 살충율을 보여주었고, 습지에서도 이나도미집모기에 대하여 가장 좋은 활성을 나타내었다.

완전제어형 식물생산시스템에서 광질에 따른 아이스플랜트의 생육과 기능성물질 함량 (Growth and Phytochemical Contents of Ice Plant as Affected by Light Quality in a Closed-type Plant Production System)

  • 본 연구는 밀폐형 식물생산시스템에서 아이스플랜트의 생육과 기능성물질에 따른 광질의 효과를 구명하고자 수행하였다. 아이스플랜트 종자를 128구 플러그 트레이에 암면을 이용하여 파종하였고, 묘는 밀폐형 식물생산시스템에서 담액식 수경재배를 이용하여 정식하고 재배하였다(EC $1.5dS{\cdot}m^{-1}$, pH 6.5). 정식 후 2주째부터 아이스플랜트의 블러더 세포 발달을 위해 2mM의 염화나트륨(NaCl)을 첨가하여 공급하였다. 실험에 이용된 다른 광질을 가진 세 개의 인공광원으로는 형광등과 RW LED, RBW LED를 사용하였다. 이때 광주기는 14/10(명기/암기), 광도는 $150{\mu}mol{\cdot}m^{-2}{\cdot}s^{-1}$ PPFD로 설정했다. 결과적으로 엽면적, 지상부와 지하부의 생체중과 건물중은 형광등 처리에서 아이스플랜트의 생육 증진에 가장 효과적이었다. SPAD 값은 형광등과 RBW LED 처리에서 각각 29.8과 30.6으로 높은 값을 나타냈다. 염도는 모든 처리구에서 유의적인 차이가 없었다. 엽록소 형광은 형광등 처리에서 유의적으로 가장 높았다. 총페놀함량과 항산화능은 RBW LED 처리에서 높은 값을 나타냈다. 총플라보노이드 함량은 형광등과 RBW LED 처리에서 유의적으로 높았다. 따라서, 본 결과는 형광등 처리에서 아이스 플랜트의 생육이 가장 효과적인 것으로 나타났다. 반면에 기능성물질은R BW LED 처리에서 가장 효과적이었다.

부영양 저수지의 조류제거를 위한 기능성 천연물질혼합제의 최적화 연구 (Optimization Test of Plant-Mineral Composites to Control Nuisance Phytoplankton Aggregates in Eutrophic Reservoir)

  • 유해 조류 제거를 위해 기 개발된 천연물질혼합제의 최적화 조건을 찾기 위해 다양한 환경조건에서 조류제거율 및 유기물 응집부상량을 조사하였다. 천연무질혼합제는 천연 식물체(상수리나무, 밤나무, 녹차 잎)와 광물질(황토, 맥반석, 제오라이트)을 단순 추출법을 이용하여 추출한 후 혼합한 물질로 비중이 낮은 유기물질을 응집시켜 부상시키는 특징을 갖는다. 실험은 농도 $0{\sim}1.0\;mL\;L^{-1}$, 광도는 $8{\sim}1,400\;{\mu}mol\;m^{-2}s^{-1}$, 수온은 $10{\sim}30^{\circ}C$, pH는 7~10, 수심은 10~50 cm 그리고 조류종은 cyanobacteria, diatom, green algae의 조건 범위에서 각각 진행하였다. 실험결과 $0{\sim}1.0\;mL\;L^{-1}$ 농도에서 모두 80% 이상의 조류제거율을 나타냈으나 경제성과 안전성을 고려했을 때 가장 낮은 농도인 $0.05\;mL\;L^{-1}$가 적정 농도로 판단되었다. 광도는 $1,400\;{\mu}mol\;m^{-2}s^{-1}$에서 약 93%, 수온은 $20{\sim}30^{\circ}C$에서 약 60~74%, pH는 7~9 사이에서 약 93%, 수심은 50 cm 이하 모든 수심에서 90% 이상, 조류종에서는 cyano bacteria가 우점하는 수체에서 약 86%로 각각 가장 좋은 조류제거율을 나타냈으며, 응접부상효과 역시 높게 나타났다. 이상의 실험에서 천연물질혼합제는 수중 부유물보다 조류의 제거에 더 효과적이었으며, 수중 조류나 부유물질의 크기가 효율에 영향을 미치는 것으로 판단된다. 결국 천연물질혼합제는 수온이 상승하는 봄~여름(수온: $20{\sim}30^{\circ}C$), cyanobacteria와 green algae가 우점하는 수체에 적용 시 높은 효과를 나타낼 것으로 사료되며, 향후 현장 적용을 통한 효과 검증이 필요할 것으로 판단되었다.

강도다리, Platichthys stellatus의 난발생과 자치어의 형태발달 (Egg Development and Morphological Change of Larvae and Juveniles of the Starry Flounder, Platichthys stellatus)

  • 강도다리, Platichthys stellatus의 난발생과정과 자치어의 형태발달에 관하여 관찰하였다. 수정란은 무색투명한 분리부성란이며, 유구는 없고, 난경은 1.09~1.19 mm (평균 $1.13{\pm}0.03mm$, n=50)였다. 사육 수온 $8.2{\sim}11.2^{\circ}C$에서 수정 후 121시간 만에 부화를 시작하였다. 부화 직 후의 자어는 전장 2.58~2.89 mm (평균 $2.67{\pm}0.09mm$)로 입과 항문은 열려 있지 않으며, 척색은 직선형이고, 근절은 14+27=41개이다. 척색과 소화관 위에는 흑갈색소포와 황갈색소포가 산재해 있고, 막지느러미 가장자리와 눈 및 난황 위에는 색소포가 없다. 부화 후 5일째에는 전장 4.30~4.97 mm (평균 $4.74{\pm}0.21mm$)로 입과 항문이 열려 있으며, 부화 후 10일째 자어는 전장 4.67~5.75 mm (평균 $5.30{\pm}0.31mm$)로 난황이 완전히 흡수되어 후기자어기로 이행하며, 로티퍼의 섭식이 활발해진다. 부화 후 23일째에는 전장 6.69~8.82 mm (평균 $7.85{\pm}0.75mm$)로 오른쪽 눈이 왼쪽으로 이동하기 시작한다. 부화 후 52일째 개체는 전장 10.99~17.06 mm (평균 $13.50{\pm}1.67mm$)로 눈은 머리부분의 왼쪽으로 완전히 이동하여 있으며, D. 64~67: A. 43~46: P. 11: V. 6: C. 19개로 각 지느러미 줄기가 정수에 달하여 치어기로 이행하였다.

조류 바이오매스를 이용한 토양개량제의 퇴비화 과정에 따른 영양성분 특성 (Nutritional Properties by Composting Process of Algae Biomass as Soil Conditioner)

  • 본 연구에서는 폐기되는 조류 바이오매스를 재활용하여 퇴비화 과정을 통해 새로운 형태의 조류토양개량제(algae soil conditioner, ASC)로 제조하고 영양성분에 대한 특성을 평가하였다. ASCs는 응집부상공법을 통해 수집된 조류 바이오매스를 주원료로 하였으며 추가적으로 다양한 보조 원료(톱밥, 펄라이트, 깻묵 등)를 첨가하여 제조하였다. ASCs는 투입된 조류 바이오매스 질량 비율에 따라 각각 blank 0%, ASC1 11.7%, ASC2 21.6%, ASC3 37.6%, ASC4 59.5%로 구분하여 총 127일간 부숙하였다. ASCs는 호기성 미생물 반응에 의해 온도 증감이 뚜렷하게 나타났으며 6~7회의 크고 작은 온도 피크가 관찰되었다. 이화학 분석결과 유기물이 무기화(mineralization) 되면서 macronutrients (TN, P2O5, K2O) 뿐만 아니라 secondary macronutrients (CaO, MgO)에서도 두드러진 증가를 보였다. 미생물 군집변화는 ASCs의 부숙과정에 따라 1단계(세균, 사상균)→2단계(방선균, 세균)→3단계(고초균)로 나타났으며 온도변화와 영양성분의 거동과 밀접한 관련이 있다고 판단되었다. 부숙 완성도에 따라 토양개량제의 품질이 결정될 수 있으며 본 연구결과에서는 조류 바이오매스를 59.5% 이내로 조절한다면 효과적인 미생물 활성을 유도할 수 있을 것으로 판단되었다. 결론적으로 조류 바이오매스를 재활용한 토양개량제의 제조 및 활용 가능성을 확인하였으며 추가적인 기술적 발전이 이루어진다면 향후 효과적인 토양개량제로 활용할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

Brief Introduction of Research Progresses in Control and Biocontrol of Clubroot Disease in China

  • Clubroot disease of crucifers has occurred since 1957. It has spread to the whole China, especially in the southwest and nourtheast where it causes 30-80% loss in some fields. The disease has being expanded in the recent years as seeds are imported and the floating seedling system practices. For its effective control, the Ministry of Agriculture of China set up a program in 2010 and a research team led by Dr. Yueqiu HE, Yunnan Agricultural University. The team includes 20 main reseachers of 11 universities and 5 institutions. After 5 years, the team has made a lot of progresses in disease occurrence regulation, resources collection, resistance identification and breeding, biological agent exploration, formulation, chemicals evaluation, and control strategy. About 1200 collections of local and commercial crucifers were identified in the field and by artificiall inoculation in the laboratories, 10 resistant cultivars were breeded including 7 Chinese cabbages and 3 cabbages. More than 800 antagostic strains were isolated including bacteria, stretomyces and fungi. Around 100 chemicals were evaluated in the field and greenhouse based on its control effect, among them, 6 showed high control effect, especially fluazinam and cyazofamid could control about 80% the disease. However, fluzinam has negative effect on soil microbes. Clubroot disease could not be controlled by bioagents and chemicals once when the pathogen Plasmodiophora brassicae infected its hosts and set up the parasitic relationship. We found the earlier the pathogent infected its host, the severer the disease was. Therefore, early control was the most effective. For Chinese cabbage, all controlling measures should be taken in the early 30 days because the new infection could not cause severe symptom after 30 days of seeding. For example, a biocontrol agent, Bacillus subtilis Strain XF-1 could control the disease 70%-85% averagely when it mixed with seedling substrate and was drenching 3 times after transplanting, i.e. immediately, 7 days, 14 days. XF-1 has been deeply researched in control mechanisms, its genome, and development and application of biocontrol formulate. It could produce antagonistic protein, enzyme, antibiotics and IAA, which promoted rhizogenesis and growth. Its The genome was sequenced by Illumina/Solexa Genome Analyzer to assembled into 20 scaffolds then the gaps between scaffolds were filled by long fragment PCR amplification to obtain complet genmone with 4,061,186 bp in size. The whole genome was found to have 43.8% GC, 108 tandem repeats with an average of 2.65 copies and 84 transposons. The CDSs were predicted as 3,853 in which 112 CDSs were predicted to secondary metabolite biosynthesis, transport and catabolism. Among those, five NRPS/PKS giant gene clusters being responsible for the biosynthesis of polyketide (pksABCDEFHJLMNRS in size 72.9 kb), surfactin(srfABCD, 26.148 kb, bacilysin(bacABCDE 5.903 kb), bacillibactin(dhbABCEF, 11.774 kb) and fengycin(ppsABCDE, 37.799 kb) have high homolgous to fuction confirmed biosynthesis gene in other strain. Moreover, there are many of key regulatory genes for secondary metabolites from XF-1, such as comABPQKX Z, degQ, sfp, yczE, degU, ycxABCD and ywfG. were also predicted. Therefore, XF-1 has potential of biosynthesis for secondary metabolites surfactin, fengycin, bacillibactin, bacilysin and Bacillaene. Thirty two compounds were detected from cell extracts of XF-1 by MALDI-TOF-MS, including one Macrolactin (m/z 441.06), two fusaricidin (m/z 850.493 and 968.515), one circulocin (m/z 852.509), nine surfactin (m/z 1044.656~1102.652), five iturin (m/z 1096.631~1150.57) and forty fengycin (m/z 1449.79~1543.805). The top three compositions types (contening 56.67% of total extract) are surfactin, iturin and fengycin, in which the most abundant is the surfactin type composition 30.37% of total extract and in second place is the fengycin with 23.28% content with rich diversity of chemical structure, and the smallest one is the iturin with 3.02% content. Moreover, the same main compositions were detected in Bacillus sp.355 which is also a good effects biocontol bacterial for controlling the clubroot of crucifer. Wherefore those compounds surfactin, iturin and fengycin maybe the main active compositions of XF-1 against P. brassicae. Twenty one fengycin type compounds were evaluate by LC-ESI-MS/MS with antifungal activities, including fengycin A $C_{16{\sim}C19}$, fengycin B $C_{14{\sim}C17}$, fengycin C $C_{15{\sim}C18}$, fengycin D $C_{15{\sim}C18}$ and fengycin S $C_{15{\sim}C18}$. Furthermore, one novel compound was identified as Dehydroxyfengycin $C_{17}$ according its MS, 1D and 2D NMR spectral data, which molecular weight is 1488.8480 Da and formula $C_{75}H_{116}N_{12}O_{19}$. The fengycin type compounds (FTCPs $250{\mu}g/mL$) were used to treat the resting spores of P. brassicae ($10^7/mL$) by detecting leakage of the cytoplasm components and cell destruction. After 12 h treatment, the absorbencies at 260 nm (A260) and at 280 nm (A280) increased gradually to approaching the maximum of absorbance, accompanying the collapse of P. brassicae resting spores, and nearly no complete cells were observed at 24 h treatment. The results suggested that the cells could be lyzed by the FTCPs of XF-1, and the diversity of FTCPs was mainly attributed to a mechanism of clubroot disease biocontrol. In the five selected medium MOLP, PSA, LB, Landy and LD, the most suitable for growth of strain medium is MOLP, and the least for strains longevity is the Landy sucrose medium. However, the lipopeptide highest yield is in Landy sucrose medium. The lipopeptides in five medium were analyzed with HPLC, and the results showed that lipopeptides component were same, while their contents from B. subtilis XF-1 fermented in five medium were different. We found that it is the lipopeptides content but ingredients of XF-1 could be impacted by medium and lacking of nutrition seems promoting lipopeptides secretion from XF-1. The volatile components with inhibition fungal Cylindrocarpon spp. activity which were collect in sealed vesel were detected with metheds of HS-SPME-GC-MS in eight biocontrol Bacillus species and four positive mutant strains of XF-1 mutagenized with chemical mutagens, respectively. They have same main volatile components including pyrazine, aldehydes, oxazolidinone and sulfide which are composed of 91.62% in XF-1, in which, the most abundant is the pyrazine type composition with 47.03%, and in second place is the aldehydes with 23.84%, and the third place is oxazolidinone with 15.68%, and the smallest ones is the sulfide with 5.07%.
