지면에 근접한 항공기의 와 거동 계산을 위한 스펙트럴법 개선 연구 (Study on the Improvement of a Spectral Method for the Computation of Wake Vortex Behavior Near the Ground)

  • 이·착륙하는 항공기에서 발생하는 후류의 거동에 대한 연구는 근접 후행 항공기의 비행안정성과 공항의 경제성 등과 관련하여 매우 중요하다. 특히 이착륙 비행단계에서 발생한 와들의 거동 연구는 지면효과가 반드시 고려해야 한다. 본 연구에서는 기존의 2차원 스펙트럴법에 와도경계조건 및 이미지법을 적용하여, 지면효과가 고려될 수 있는 수치해법을 도출하였다. 개선된 수치기법을 사용하여 얻은 결과를 참고문헌의 수치해석 결과 및 실험결과와 비교하여 타당성을 검증하였다. 특히, 본 연구의 수치해석방법으로 지면근처에서 발생하는 이차와(secondary vortex)의 생성과 박리, 그리고 거동을 예측할 수 있음을 보였다. 향후 본 연구방법을 확장하여 Stratification, Wind Shear 등 다양한 기상조건이 와의 거동에 미치는 영향을 연구할 계획이다.

  • On-orbit thermal behavior of KOMPSAT (Korea Multi-purpose Satellite) propulsion system employing hydrazine (N$_2$H$_4$) liquid monopropellant is addressed. Thermal control performance to prevent propellant freezing in spacecraft-operational orbit was verified by flight telemetry data obtained during LEOP (Launch and Early Operation Phase). Results are depicted in terms of temperature history during several orbits selected and are compared with acceptable temperature ranges of system components. Cyclic behavior of temperature is reduced into duty cycles of the avionics heaters and subsequently converted into the electrical power required to keep away from propellant freezing. Temperature of each component which was achieved under on-ground thermal-balanced condition of spacecraft, is presented for comparison with the flight data, additionally.

회전익 항공기 전륜착륙장치 단속거동 현상 개선연구 (An Improvement Study on Stick-Slip Behavior of Nose Landing Gear for Rotary Wing Aircraft)

  • The Nose Landing Gear(NLG) of Rotary Wing Aircraft is an essential equipment in Landing System for pilot to perform a flight mission. It supports the fuselage at ground and absorbs the impact from the ground when landing, thereby, these functions sustain operational capability for pilot and crew. However, the A aircraft caused stick-slip behavior when it was stationed on the ground. Therefore, this paper summarizes pilot comment in operation which are classified by cause of occurrence and the troubleshooting process about each comment. It also describes design improvements which was derived from troubleshooting and suggests verification results of flight test.

항공기-조류 충돌 프로그램을 위한 괭이갈매기 경계음 연구 (A Study on Alarm call of Black-tailed Gulls(Larus crassirostris) for Bird Strike Program)

  • The black-tailed gull chicks, Larus crassirostris, recognize various adult voice signal base on the simple patterns. We investigated behavior change in black-tailed gull chicks through physical manipulation of mew call. They were playback in four situations differing in physical character: 1) frequency manipulation only, 2) duration manipulation only, 3) call intensity(dB) manipulation only, and 4) call interval manipulation only. We observed occurrence of different response of the chicks, which were categorized into two behaviors(hidden and return behavior). The manipulated frequency, duration, and intensity were directly correlated. The chicks exposed to only manipulated call interval(0.5, 1sec) made significantly more hidden and return behavior. Adult black-tailed gull only increased flight time on manipulated call interval. The results suggest that black-tailed gulls use short call interval for alarm signal. The analysis of alarm signal provides an important on basic study of bird strike.

비행하중하에서 2124-T851 알루미늄합금의 피로균열진전 예측 (Prediction of Crack Growth in 2124-7851 Al-Alloy Under Flight-Simulation Loading)

  • In this study, to propose the prediction method of the crack growth under flight-simulation loading, crack growth tests are conducted on 2124-7851 aluminum alloy specimens. The prediction of crack growth under flight-simulation loading is performed by the stochastic crack growth model which was developed in previous study. First of all, to reduce the complex load history into a number of constant amplitude events, rainflow counting is applied to the flight-simulation loading wave. The crack growth, then, is predicted by the stochastic crack growth model that can describe the load interaction effect as well as the variability in crack growth process. The material constants required in this model are obtained from crack growth tests under constant amplitude loading and single tensile overload. The curves predicted by the proposed model well describe the crack growth behavior under flight-simulation loading and agree with experimental data. In addition, this model well predicts the variability of fatigue lives.

  • In-flight service, depending on the perceptions of service satisfaction because ever turns into a variable, which enables service providers the flexibility of a variable in the end flight service to suit your needs to providing comprehensive and proactive services of the crew will be motivated. In addition, the service provider's motivation to work in a confined space on board the flight service characteristics in-flight service will be a major impact on the environment. This service-oriented environment, in-flight service and motivation in order to verify the impact on services in Cape factors as independent variables and the dependent variable service-oriented multi-regression analysis was performed. As a result, the motivation of the crew and the crew of the service-oriented, with a voluntary service crew services dependent variable parameters that affect the behavior of the acts. Services and service-oriented motivation Cape factors significantly influence both the irradiated while the impact on voluntary service and results verification service aesthetics, cleanliness, and physical service environment, only the voluntary services of the crew a positive effect on that the effects were investigated.

  • What was once known as common courtesy is rapidly disappearing in the air travel industry, and the violent behavior known as air rage is a constant threat. Once sought after by other industries for advice because of its expertise in customer service, the air travel industry has now slipped to the lowest rungs of companies with unhappy customers. As airlines cut corners in order to avoid bankruptcy, passengers' patience is tested by the stress of flight delays, crowded airports and close packed seating on airplanes. This article examines the situation, strategies used by passengers and ways the airline industry might better inspire courteous behavior in passengers. A cultural expectation of entitlement and competitiveness for limited resources has led to a breakdown in civilized behavior throughout society, both in the United States and internationally. Air travelers faced with rude and intrusive behavior from others on the flight are beginning to find their own ways of coping, such as high quality headphones to block offensive noises, and mechanical devices to keep the seat in front from reclining to the point where it hits their knees. The most potentially effective remedies will come from airlines that enlist cooperation by offering effective passenger education and possibly even incentives. Acceptable airline behaviors need to be plainly defined and stressed for passengers, both before boarding and onboard. In this paper, some methods are suggested to motivate passengers and to inspire courteous behavior.

  • Work situational awareness test (WSAT) has been utilized to estimate the fatigue risk of workers who worked with time pressure or latent accident risks at their work environment. Thus researchers decided to use WSAT to estimate fatigue risk of cabin crews of an airline in Korea and to analyze empirically how such risk might have an effect on cabin crew's safety behavior. This was because there had not been enough research on accessing cabin crews' fatigue and analyzing its risk for the flight safety. In addition, the mediation effect of cabin crew's planning was also analyzed through Sobel-test by researchers among external factors such as lack of concentration, attention deficit, distraction and safety behavior. According to empirical analysis, it was found attention deficit and distraction of cabin crews due to fatigue during the flight had a significant negative effect on their planning. Planning was also proven to have mediation effect to cabin crew's safety behavior.

검은머리물떼새의 번식행동 및 번식기 섭식행동의 다양성 (The Diversity of Reproductive and Foraging Behaviors on Breeding Season of Eurasian Oystercatcher (Haematopus ostralegus))

  • 본 연구는 1999년 3월부터 2002년 9월에 걸쳐 경기도 시화호, 경기도 웅진군 동${\cdot}$서만도, 장구엽도 3곳에서 검은머리물떼새의 번식기전 행동, 텃세권 행동, 번식생태, 주요 섭식지역과 섭식행동, 종내와 종간번식 및 먹이경쟁에 대해 조사하였다. 검은머리물떼새의 번식 시작은 지역에 따라 차이를 보여 시화호 지역은 4월 중순부터, 동${\cdot}$서만도와 장구엽도의 경우 5월 중순 번식을 시작하였다. 번식에 들어가기 전 짝간의 유대를 강화하기 위한 행동으로 암수짝간의 섭식행동(foraging behavior)과 추적행동(male-female chasing behavior)을 보인다. 교미행동에 들어가기 전 암수는 함께 섭식행동을 하며, 다른 쌍이나 개체들이 섭식장소로 접근해 오면 삑- 삑- 하는 울음소리(piping calling)와 함께 공격적 행동을 보이며 침입자를 쫓아내거나, 침입자 추적비행을 하기도 한다. 연속적 행동양상을 관찰하지 않으면 암수 추적비행과 침입자 추적비행을 구별하기 어렵다. 텃세권 행동은 나비비행(butterfly flight), 음성행동(calling behavior), 침입자 추적행동(chasing behavior), 싸움행동(fight behavior)의 4가지 타입으로 분류하였다. 시화호 지역의 중요 취식 지역은 대부도 선착장 앞쪽, 방어머리 갯벌, 시화방조제 오이도 초입부의 정치망이 설치되어 있는 갯벌, 공단의 조류 조망대 앞쪽 북측 간석지 등 크게 4지역으로 구분된다. 섬지역 중 동${\cdot}$서만도는 썰물시 갯벌에서, 만조시에는 섬 주변에서 취식하였고, 밀${\cdot}$썰물의 차가 없는 장구엽도의 경우 섬 주변에서 주로 취식하였다. 섭식행동 중 종내(intraspecific)와 종간 (interspecific) 경쟁이 이루어졌다. 취식지역에서 검은머리물떼새 개체간에는 먹이를 빼앗기 위해 쫓아가는 행동이 관찰되기도 하고, 중요 취식지역에 다른 개체가 들어올 경우 침입자 추적행동을 하며 쫓아내기도 하였다. 종간 섭식 경쟁은 주로 괭이갈매기와 일어난다. 괭이갈매기와 먹이경쟁이 이루어질 경우에 검은머리물떼새는 먹이를 갈취 당하거나 공격을 받아 다른 지역에서 먹이를 취식하는 개체보다 먹이 섭취율이 상대적으로 떨어지는 것이 관찰되었다. 종간 경쟁이 심하면 섭식지역을 떠나 다른 지역으로 이동하였다.

Parameter Reduction in Digital Adaptive Flight Control System for Spaceplanes

  • A digital adaptive flight control system is presented for a Japanese automatic landing flight experiment vehicle (ALFLEX). In previous adaptive control systems based on a linear-parameter-varying (LPV) form, the output behavior was excellent, while the behavior of the adjusted parameters was unsatisfactory. In the present study, to obtain a more appropriate parameter adjustment law, the relationship between the coefficient matrices in a continuous-time state equation and the coefficients of a pulse transfer function in a discrete system for conventional aircraft is investigated. As a result, it is revealed that the coefficients of the numerator can be treated as a linear function of dynamic pressure (linear-parameter-varying: LPV), while the coefficients of the denominator can be treated as constant (linear-time-invariant: LTI). From the above analysis, an improved parameter adjustment law is derived by reducing the number of the adjustment parameters. Simulation results also revealed both good output tracking and good parameter adjustment compared with the previous results.
