An Analysis of the Positive and Negative Factors Affecting Job Satisfaction Using Topic Modeling

  • When a competent employee leaves an organization, the technical skills and know-how possessed by that employee also disappear, which may lead to various problems, such as a decrease in organizational morale and technology leakage. To address such problems, it is important to increase employees' job satisfaction. Due to the advancement of both information and communication technology and social media, many former and current employees share information regarding companies in which they have worked or for which they currently work via job portal websites. In this study, a web crawl was used to collect reviews and job satisfaction ratings written by all and incumbent employees working in nine industries from Job Planet, a Korean job portal site. According to this analysis, regardless of the industry in question, organizational culture, welfare support, work system, growth capability and relationships had significant positive effects on job satisfaction, while time and attendance management, performance management, and organizational flexibility had significant negative effects on job satisfaction. With respect to the path difference between former and current employees, time and attendance management and organizational flexibility have greater negative effects on job satisfaction for current employees than for former employees. On the other hand, organizational culture, work system, and relationships had greater positive effects for current employees than for former employees.

레이저 변위센서를 이용한 용접선 검출에서 신호처리에 관한 연구 (A Study on a Signal Processing Method for Detection of the Weld seam by Using Laser Displacement Sensor)

  • The weld seam tracking sensor is indispensable to improve the flexibility of automatic arc welding systems. Among the position sensing methods available, a laser displacement sensor is one of the most prevailing methods. In this study, a laser displacement sensor was examined on detecting the weld seam of lap joints in sheet metal arc welding. The output signal of the laser displacement sensor may ontain severe fluctuation from the effect of arc light, spatters, fume, etc. So a variety of signal processing methods was applied to smooth the output signal of the sensor. And then the weld joint was determined by using the central difference method. It was revealed that the quadratic mean method plays an important role in detecting the weld seam during welding especially.

  • The wavelength converter is considered to be a key element of future dense WDM optical networks. It enables wavelength reuse and resolves contention problem. Moreover, the tunability of the wavelength converter enhance the flexibility of network systems by facilitating reconfigurable dynamic wavelength routing. In order to achieve optically tunable wavelength conversion, we recently proposed and experimentally demonstrated wavelength conversion and tuning based on cascaded sum and difference frequency generation in a Ti:PPLN channel waveguide. 보건소 물리치료사의 직무만족도에 관한 조사연구 (A Study on the Job Satisfaction of Physical Therapist's at Public Health Center)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate factors affecting physical therapist's job satisfaction at public health center. The data were collected from May 10 to 12, 2002 and 117 valid questionnaires were obtained and analyzed. They were analyzed by the percent, frequency, t-test, one-way ANOVA and Pearson correlation coefficiency. The results of the study were as follows: 1. The average marks by their job satisfaction factors indicated 3.56 for identity guarantee, 3.20 for administration, 2.78 for duty volume, 2.53 for relation with colleague. 2. There was statistically a difference of the education degree in relation with colleague. 3. There were statistically a difference of the age, total career, grade in rank, the number of colleague in identity guarantee. 4. No statistical significance were observed with the factors of incumbent satisfaction, duty volume, flexibility at work, administration.

The Effects of Paid Family Leave on Corporate Social Responsibility

  • Purpose - The objective of this research is to investigate how lowering labor market frictions for female workers affects corporate social responsibility (CSR). Design/methodology/approach - We utilize the staggered adoption of state-level Paid Family Leave (PFL) acts in the U.S. These acts provide significant flexibility for female employees by mandating paid leave for a family or medical events. Our study is based on a sample of 30,027 publicly traded firms in the U.S. from 1991 to 2012. We employ a difference-in-differences research design, considering treated firms as those headquartered in states that enacted PFL laws. Findings - We find that there is a significant increase in the firms' CSR performance following the adoption of the PFL, suggesting that lowering the labor market frictions for female workers encourages firms to invest in CSR initiatives. Research implications or Originality - This study informs policy makers that PFL enables firms to reduce costly employee turnover and results in an increase in CSR performance.

대면·비대면 맥캔지운동과 탄력밴드 근력강화운동이 노인의 낙상과 체력에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Face-to-Face and Non-Face-to-Face McKenzie Exercises and Strength Training with Elastic Bands on Falls and Fitness in Older Adults)

  • Background: This study investigated the effects of face-to-face and non-face-to-face McKenzie exercises and elastic band strengthening exercises on falls and fitness in older adults. Methods: A total of 44 subjects were divided into a face-to-face group (FG; n=22) and a non-face-to-face group (NFG; n=22) who met older adults. Both groups used McKenzie exercises and strength training with elastic bands The fall efficacy scale (K-FES) and glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c) Pro were used to compare the senior fitness test (SFT). Results: No significant differences were detected between the two groups before the intervention; however, a significant difference was noted in the K-FES scores after the intervention. The change in HbA1c after the intervention was not statistically significant in the FG or the NFG, and no significant difference was detected between the two groups. The change in lower limb muscle strength in the elderly physical fitness test showed no significant difference between the two groups before or after the intervention. The change in upper limb flexibility after the intervention was not significantly different in the FG or NFG, indicating no significant difference between the two groups. The change in the 3-meter round-trip test after the intervention was significantly different in both the FG and NFG groups, but the difference between the groups was not statistically significant. The change in the grip strength test of the dominant hand showed no significant difference after the intervention in the FG or the NFG, and the difference between the FG and NFG groups was not statistically significant. The dominant foot external standing after the intervention was significantly improved in the FG, but no significant difference was detected in the NFG, and the difference between the two groups was not statistically significant. Conclusion: The study findings revealed that FG and NFG McKenzie exercises and elastic band strengthen exercises were equally effective at preventing falls and improving fitness in older adults.

첨단산업의 환경동태성이 공급체인의 결속에 미치는 영향: 유연성과 의존성의 역할 (The Effects of Environmental Dynamism on Supply Chain Commitment in the High-tech Industry: The Roles of Flexibility and Dependence)

  • 첨단산업의 기업들은 환경의 변화에 효과적으로 대응하는 것을 기업 성패에 중요한 요인으로 여기고 있다. 하지만 첨단산업의 환경 동태성이 공급체인 구성원 간 관계 결속에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구가 부족하여, 환경 변화에 효과적인 대응을 어렵게 하고 있다. 본 연구는 첨단산업에서 환경 동태성이 공급체인의 결속에 영향을 미치는 메커니즘에 대해 규명하고 있다. 좀 더 구체적으로 말하면, 첫째, 첨단산업의 고객, 경쟁, 기술 동태성이 공급체인의 결속에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지, 둘째, 공급체인의 유연성과 의존성이 이러한 영향에 어떠한 조절효과를 가지는 지 실증하고 있다. 구조방정식 모형에 의한 가설검정 결과 첨단산업의 고객 동태성은 공급체인의 결속을 약화시켰지만 경쟁 동태성은 강화시키는 역할을 하였다. 한편 유연성과 의존성은 고객과 경쟁 동태성에 유의적인 조절 효과를 가졌다.

율동적 동작(Dance movement) 훈련이 노년기 여성의 생리, 심리적 변수에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Korean Traditional Dance Movement Training on Psychophysiological Variables in Korean Elderly Women)

  • Regular long term dance movement could be one of ways to induce improvement of psychophysiological variables, resulting in improvement of quality of life. However, there have been few studies to evaluate the effect of dance movement training on both physiological and psychological variables in the elderly. This study was focused to determine the effect of Korean traditional dance movement training on psychophysiological variables-body weight, body fat, lean body mass, muscle strength, muscle endurance, flexibility, agility, resting heart rate and blood pressure, depression and life satisfaction-in Korean elderly women. Thirty four subjects, aged between 65 and 75years who have normal cognition, sensory function, cerebellum function, cardiovascular function, participated in this study. Seventeen experimental group subjects were selected from E-elderly university in Kyung Gi province, and Seventeen control group subjects were selected from N-welfare facility in Seoul City. Seventeen experimental group subjects participated for 12weeks dance movement program. Korean traditional dance movement program was developed on the basis of Korean traditional dance and music by the author. The program consisted of approximately 50minutes of dance, 3times a week for 12weeks. During 50minutes workout, there were 15minutes of warm-up dancing, 25minutes of conditioning dance and 10minutes of cool-down dancing. The intensity for the conditioning phase was at between 60% and 65% of age-adjusted maximum heart rates. The body weight, body fat, lean body mass, muscle strength(grip strength, leg strength), muscle endurance, flexibility, agility, resting heart rate and blood pressure, depression and life satis-faction were measured prior to and following the experimental treatment. The participants in dance movement were interviewed focusing on subjective feeling following 12 week's regular dance movement. Data were analyzed with mean, standard deviation, percentage of change, X²-test, t-test, and ANCOVA test using SPSS PC/sup +/ program. Subjective feeling was categorized into cognitopsy-chological and physiological responses. Results were obtained as follows : 1) The body weight (F=15.52, p=.000), body fat (F=18.33, p=.000) and lean body mass (F=7.28, p=.011) of the experimental group were significantly lower than those of the control group following the dance movement training. 2) The leg strength (F=30.96, p=.000), muscle endurance (F=9.06, p=.005), agility(F=44.92, 000), flexibility(F=6.84, p=.014) of the experimental group were significantly higher than those of the control group following the dance movement training. There was no significant difference of grip strength(F=.43, p=.515) between experimental and control groups. 3) The heart rate(F=26.96, p=.000), systolic (F=10.40, p=.000) and diastolic(F=3.99, p=.005) blood pressure at rest of the experimental group were significantly lower than those of the control group following the dance movement training. 4) No significant difference of score of depression (F=3.49, p=.071) was observed between experimental and control groups. 5) Score of life satisfaction of experimental group was remarkably higher than that of control group following 12weeks of dance movement training (p<0.05). 6) Thematic responses about the dance movement following the training were positive. "I feel good" was the most frequent among cognitopsychological responses and "I feel lightness of body" was the most frequent among physiological responses. The results suggest that Korean traditional dance movement training can improve psychophysiological variables of Korean elderly.

창의사고필터링모형 (CTFM) 교육프로그램이 창의성에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Creative Thinking Filtering Model to Creativity Domains)

  • 본 연구는 국제영재교육에서 창의사고필터링모형(Creative Thinking Filtering Model : CTFM)교육프로그램 적용이 창의성의 인지적 영역(유창성, 융통성, 독창성)과 정의적 영역(독자성, 호기심, 다양성, 민감성, 유모감각, 개별성)에 어떠한 영향을 미치는 지를 규명하는데 있다. 자료처리를 위한 통계방법으로 공분산분석 (Analysis of Covariance : ANCOVA)를 실시하였으며, 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, CTFM을 적용한 집단이 통제집단보다 인지적 영역과 정의적 영역이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 구체적으로 인지적 영역에서는 유창성, 융통성, 독창성 3요인 모두에서, 정의적 영역에서는 민감성을 제외한 독자성, 호기심, 개별성, 다양성, 민감성, 유모감각의 5요인에서 CTFM을 적용한 학생들이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, CTFM을 적용하기 전과 적용한 후에 인지적 영역의 창의성을 분석한 결과, 인지적 영역의 3요인인 유창성, 융통성, 독창성 모두 향상되었으며, 특히 유창성이 가장 많이 향상된 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, CTFM을 적용하기 전과 적용한 후에 정의적 영역의 창의성을 분석한 결과, 정의적 영역의 6요인 중 독자성, 다양성, 유모감각, 개별성의 4요인이 향상되었으며, 특히 독자성이 가장 많이 향상된 것으로 나타났다.

예비유아교사의 창의성 교사교육 프로그램 개발을 위한 두뇌우성사고 유형에 따른 언어 창의성 분석 연구 (Analysis of linguistic creativity according to the types of brain dominance for developing pre-service early childhood teachers' creativity teacher education program)

  • 본 연구는 예비유아교사의 창의성 교사교육 프로그램 개발을 위한 두뇌우성사고 유형에 따른 언어 창의성의 차이를 분석하고자 하였다. 연구대상은 유아교육과 3, 4학년 210명으로 이들에게 두뇌우성사고 유형은 Herrmann의 BDI를 실시하였고, 창의성은 TTCT:언어를 사용하였다. 자료처리는 두뇌우성사고 유형과 언어 창의성 간의 관계를 알아보기 위해 Pearson 상관분석과 두뇌우성사고 유형에 따른 창의성의 차이를 밝히고자 다변량분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과는 첫째, 좌상뇌, 좌하변연계, 우하변연계는 유창성, 융통성, 독창성 및 전체 언어 창의성과 어떠한 상관도 없었으며, 우상뇌는 유창성, 융통성, 독창성 및 전체 언어 창의성과 정적 상관을 보였다. 둘째, 좌하변연계, 우상뇌 및 우하변연계 우성 교사가 좌상뇌 우성 교사보다 유창성, 융통성, 독창성 및 전체 언어 창의성이 높게 나타났다. 이러한 예비유아교사의 두뇌우성사고 유형에 따른 언어 창의성을 분석한 결과는 두뇌기반 창의성 교사교육 프로그램을 개발하는데 시사점으로 활용될 것이다.
