전과정평가방법에 의한 주요 연안어업의 온실가스 배출량 정량적 분석 (A quantitative analysis of greenhouse gas emissions from the major coastal fisheries using the LCA method)

  • The concern on the greenhouse gas emissions is increasing globally. Especially, the greenhouse gas emission from fisheries is an important issue due to Cancun Agreements Mexico in 1992 and the Kyoto protocol in 2005. Furthermore, the Korean government has a plan to reduce the GHG emissions as 5.2% compared to the BAU in fisheries until 2020. However, the investigation on the GHG emissions from Korean fisheries has not been executed much. Therefore, the quantitative analysis of GHG emissions from Korean fishery industry is needed as the first step to find a relevant way to reduce GHG emissions from fisheries. The purpose of this research is to investigate which degree of GHG emitted from the major coastal fisheries such as coastal gillnet fishery, coastal dual purpose fishery, coastal pots fishery and coastal small scale stow net fishery. Here, we calculated the GHG emission from the fisheries using the LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) method. The system boundary and input parameters for each process level are defined for LCA analysis. The fuel use coefficients of the fisheries are also calculated according to the fuel type. The GHG emissions from sea activities by the fisheries will be dealt with. Furthermore, the GHG emissions for the unit weight of fishes are also calculated with consideration to the different consuming areas. The results will be helpful to understand the circumstances of GHG emissions from Korean fisheries.

남해 동부 멸치어군의 다중주파수 특성 (The multi-frequency characteristics of anchovy schools in the east of South Sea of South Korea)

  • The multi-frequency characteristics of anchovy schools were investigated using six acoustic lines collected at 38 and 120 kHz while a primary trawl survey was conducted from 14 April and 18 April of 2014 in off the coast of Tongyeong and Geo-je. Here, the frequency characteristics mean ${\Delta}MVBS$ that is the difference of Mean Volume Backscattering Strength at two frequencies. To use the characteristics effectively, the optimal cell size ($10{\times}2m$) was determined by examining several different cell sizes in consideration with the shapes of fish schools and the ${\Delta}MVBS$ pattern. By examining 6 histograms of ${\Delta}MVBS$, afternoon groups were occupied more in the ${\Delta}MVBS$ range of -6~-4 dB than that of -4~-2 dB, comparing to morning groups. The ${\Delta}MVBS$ range of the morning groups was between -16.9 dB and 11.6 dB, and that of the afternoon groups -16.7 dB and 13.0 dB. The average and standard deviation were $-3.9{\pm}3.6$ dB in the morning and $-4.1{\pm}3.4$ dB in the afternoon, suggesting that morning groups were 2 dB higher than afternoon groups. The ${\Delta}MVBS$ range of all anchovy schools regardless of morning and afternoon was between -16.9 dB and 13.0 dB, their average ${\Delta}MVBS$ was $-4.1{\pm}3.5$ dB. The characteristics can support to identify anchovy species in the waters where multiple fish species are distributed. It is hoped that this study presents the availability and benefit of acoustic data from a primary trawl survey.

참가리비, Patinopecten yessoensis 인공종묘 생산시 환수가 유생에 미치는 영향-유생성장, 스쿠티카충 발생, 치패성장의 관점 (Effect of the hatchery larval sieving on the larval growth, scuticociliate occurrence, and ensuing spat growth of Patinopecten yessoensis)

  • 이전의 연구에서 참가리비(Patinopecten yessoensis) 인공종묘생산 중 수질관리를 위해 주기적으로 실시하는 환수(전량환수)가 scuticociliates 감염을 촉진 할수 있다는 가능성을 제기하였다. 본 연구에서는 수질과 scuticociliates 감염을 고려한 최적 환수 횟수를 결정하고자 하였으며, 유생성장, 생존, scuticociliates 발생을 1차 기준으로 하였으며, 부가하여 중간 육성장으로 이동하여 성장 및 기형 발생율을 2차기준으로 조사하였다. 5일 간격의 환수(3T)가 가장 좋은 결과를 보였다. 잦은 환수(5T)는 수질 개선에도 불구하고 성장 둔화가 확인되었으며, 이것은 scuticociliates의 감염과 연관이 있는 것으로 보였다. 9일간격의 환수(1T) 역시 성장둔화를 보였으며, 5T 실험구와 더불어 중간육성이후 성장 둔화(통계적 유의성 없음)와 비정상 발생을 유발하였다. 본 연구결과 최적 환수간격은 5-7일 사이로 나타났다.

Analysis of Integration and Growth Factors for Maritime Industry -With focus on Jeollanamdo Province-

  • The maritime industry has emerged as a new growth engine. The municipalities that own the port are trying to add value through the maritime industry. Overseas port cities are also creating maritime industrial clusters to generate profits and strengthen competitiveness. Therefore, it is very important to understand the comparative status of the domestic maritime industry by region. Based on this analysis, it is possible to establish maritime industrial clusters and strategies for integration. This study analyzed the structure of the maritime industry located in Jeollanamdo province, the southwestern part of Korea. Through the analysis of existing literature, the maritime industry was reclassified into 5 major categories, 21 subcategories, and 84 subcategories. Based on the reclassified maritime industry, the analysis of the Jeollanamdo province maritime industry was based on applying the location quotient and the shift-share analysis. As a result of analyzing the geographical location of Jeollanamdo province, other industries showed the highest value of 2.790, followed by fisheries (2.227), shipbuilding industry (1.164) and marine tourism industry (0.554). The growth effect of the maritime industry in Jeollanamdo province was 35,323 people, and net growth effect excluding national growth effect was 11,945 people. In particular, the net growth effect of the shipbuilding industry was the highest at 11,320, followed by shipping logistics (6,371) and marine tourism (1,529). On the other hand, there was no net growth effect in fisheries. The results of this study can be used as basic data for the construction of the maritime industrial cluster for Jellanamdo province in the future.

Fatty Acids Composition in Viscera and Muscle of the Philippines Pinkgray Goby, Amblvchaeturichthys hexanema

  • In this study, lipid classes and fatty acids composition in viscera and muscle of the philippines Pinkgray goby, Amblychaeturichtys hexanema were determined. The viscera contained high levels of total lipid $(TL,\;4.8\%)$, while the muscle contained less TL $(0.5\%)$. TL in the viscera consisted of triacylglycerol $(83.9\%)$, diacylglycerol $(7.9\%)$, polar lipid $(7.4\%)$, and cholesterol $(0.8\%)$. However, the muscle contained a small amount of TG $(3.0\%)$ and much more PL $(73.8\%)$. Principal fatty acids composition of PL and NL in the viscera and muscle were 16:0, 16:1n-7, 18:0, 18: 1n-9, 18:1n-7, l8:3n-3, 20:5n-3, 22:5n-3, and 22:6n-3.

해양플랜트산업 경쟁력 강화를 위한 조선기자재산업 고도화에 관한 연구 (A Study on Accelerating Marine Equipments Industry for Enforcing Competitiveness of the Offshore Plants Industry)

  • This study attempted an AHP analysis through interview with experts in the industries and questionnaire survey on recognition of organization members and future strategic development direction in order to upgrade shipbuilding equipment industries to marine plant equipment industries. Key research results are as follows. First, according to analysis on relative priority between three aspects on acceleration of shipbuilding equipment industries, importance was shown in the order of acceleration of internal competence, acceleration of manufacturing technology, and acceleration of supply chain, which means that the aspect on acceleration of internal competence had relatively higher importance. Second, as for relative importance of detailed item evaluation per respective aspect, it was found that development of core competencies was high from the aspect on acceleration of internal competence, higher value-addition was high from the aspect on acceleration of manufacturing technology, and IT infrastructure construction was high from the aspect on acceleration of supply chain.

배타적 경제수역의 설정과 어업 문제 (The Problems of Fishing Industry Related to the Establishment of Exclusive Economic Zone)

  • The paper investigates the problems fishing industry will face when Far East countries like Korea, China and Japan establish their own exclusive economic zones to Protect their own interests. The expected problems of importance are as follows ; (1) tile issue of Dok - do possession between Korea and Japan, (2) the issue of continental shelf around the Korean peninsula, (3) the issue of the management of international and domestic fishing grounds. This paper suggests that, since these issues are very important for our country's future interest, the Government should organize a task-force team consisting of the specialists in related areas and fully use this team to establish economic and social systems appropriate to solve the Problems of fishing industry from a long-term perspective.

Fractionation and Angiotensin I-converting Enzyme (ACE) Inhibitory Activity of Gelatin Hydrolysates from by-products of Alaska Pollock Surimi

  • Gelatin hydrolysates with a high inhibitory activity against angiotensin I-converting enzyme (ACE) were fractionated from Alaska pollock surimi refiner discharge. The ACE-inhibitory activity, expressed as $IC_{50}$ (mg/mL), was highest (0.49 mg/mL) in gelatin hydrolysates formed by sequential 2-hr treatments of Pronase and Flavourzyme. After fractionation through four different membrane filters with molecular weight cut-offs of 3, 5, 10, and 30 kDa, the highest ACE-inhibitory activity (0.21 mg/mL) was observed with the 3-kDa filtrate.

  • The angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) generates the powerful vasoconstrictor angiotensin II by removing the C-terminal dipeptide from the precursor decapeptide angiotensin I (1). The enzyme also inactivates the vasodilator bradykinin (2). There have been many studies on ACE inhibitory substances as functional in food, and ACE inhibitory peptides were isolated (3-5).   • 최근 취업애로 계층이 100만명을 넘어서는 등청년 고용의 어려움이 지속되고 있다. 해양수산 분야도 예외가 아니어서 수요 측면에서는 우수한 인재 부족으로, 공급 측면에서는 양질의 일자리 부족으로 인력 수급 상의 미스매치가 발생하고 있다. 미스매치는 양적인 면도 중요하지만 질적인 측면이 더욱 중요하다. 이러한 문제를 해소하기 위해서는 현장과 미래 수요에 부응한 전문인력을 집중적으로 양성하고, 실습장비 등과 같은 교육 인프라와 교원의 역량 강화, 산학연 협력 체계 구축 등이 필요하다. 나아가 학교교육에서 재교육까지 아우르는 인력양성 통합관리 시스템을 구축하고 일반 국민의 해양수산에 대한 이미지 제고를 위한 사업들이 추진되어야 한다.
