A Study on the Improvement of Performance Standard and Classification for the Firestop Accreditation System (내화충전구조 인정제도의 성능기준 및 등급분류 개선에 관한 연구)

  • The fire compartments with fire-resistant construction are installed in the principal structural parts of a building in order to reduce damage in the event of a building fire. As a fire may spread through a crack in the fire compartment, the firestop with secured performance is used according to the procedure, methods, and standards specified in the detailed operation guideline. According to the current detailed operation guideline, vertical members (wall penetration) and horizontal members (floor penetration) are classified into different categories respective to each other for the classification of the firestop. Therefore, an accreditation applicant must apply for the performance test for each structure even if the wall and the floor have the same structure. Also, Grade T is used for the firestop that penetrates the fire compartment. However, in the case of foreign countries, the use of Grade F for the firestop is allowed even if it penetrates the fire compartment. The result of the precedent studies also showed that there was a significantly low possibility of fire to spread even if Grade F was applied for a metallic duct that penetrated the fire compartment. In this study, the improved scheme for the classification and performance standard of firestops was presented by analyzing the results of precedent studies regarding the firestop and domestic and overseas firestop qualification systems.

  • 화재발생시 방화구획의 실패는 대형화재사고의 주요원인으로 지목되고 있는 실정으로, 대규모 화재확산으로 인한 인명 및 재산피해 발생의 직접적인 원인이라 할 수 있다. 하지만, 현행 관계법령의 미비와 관리방안의 부재 등의 이유로 현실적 개선이 미뤄지고 있는 실정이다. 소방방재청에서는 본 연구를 통하여 우리나라의 현행 Firestop의 문제점을 분석하고, 이에 대한 효율적인 관리개선방안을 도출하고자 하였다. 이에 그 결과를 보고하고자 한다.

  • In this paper, the effect of change of sleeve type on fireproofing performance of through-penetration firestop system on metallic pipes was analyzed. As a result, if the material of the sleeve is high in thermal conductivity and thick, a large amount of heat is transferred to the top of the support structure.

Comparison of the Fire Resistance Performance of Firestop Systems on Non-Metallic Pipes, Based on the Type of Through-Penetration Sleeve Used (비금속관 설비관통부의 슬리브 종류에 따른 내화성능 비교)

  • In this study, we aimed to identify changes in fire resistance according to the type of sleeves used for pipe penetrations and to examine their accreditation of fire resistance performance and use them as basic data. The test results of fire resistance according to the type of sleeve used in non-metallic pipe facilities showed that the temperature on the support side was higher for sleeves with higher thermal conductivity. For the temperature on the surface of the pipes, in the case of galvanized steel plates, steel pipes, and structures without sleeves, the highest temperature was observed after the expansion of the firestop material for 46 to 53 minutes and then decreased. PVC sleeves showed a steady increase in temperature until 53 minutes, after which the temperature did not increase further. In addition, for non-metallic pipes, the effect of the type of sleeve on fire resistance is considered to be insignificant because the lower part (heating direction of the furnace) under the support structure is cut off to block the heat during the two-hour fire resistance test.

  • 최근 성능기준에 의한 평가규정이 시행된 건축물 내화충전구조에 대해 관련 제도운영체계와 국내외 성능평가방법 및 성능기준을 살펴본 후 현재 기준의 보완점과 향후 개선방안에 대해 고찰하였다. 내화충전구조는 방화구획의 기능을 완성시키는 중요한 부분으로서 연구개발 및 시장활성화가 필요하며, 현장 품질을 확보 유지할 수 있는 관리체계가 필요하다. 한편 내화성능 뿐만 아니라 구조거동에 대한 대응 및 내구성에 대한 기술기준의 보완 마련이 필요하다.
