  • In Our Country, the fire safety design is done by the standard furnace fire test. This is haphazard procedure, as the standard furnace fire endurance of structural elements has little relation to the structural element endurance in an actual Compartment fire. The standard furnace fire test results, though obtained at great cost, do not contribute to the understanding of the behavior of structural elements in an elevated temperature environment and can not be applied rationally in fire safety design. The response of a steel and reinforced concrete structure in fire is a very complex problem. Therefore, in this paper is explained about tendency of study for fire safety design in advanced nations.

  • Fire engineering design method based on structural performance of buildings has been developed through all of the worlds since the early 1960's. But recently the worlds have been changed rapidly in aspects of global community and mutural free trade circumstances. Therefore the concepts of fire design on structural performance need to harmonize among countries that have their own unique regulations and ISO TC 92 and SC 4 have worked in order to make the united international standard.

  • 현대 사회의 도시가 고밀도로 개발되면서 녹지공간의 축소로 인하여 이상기온 현상 즉 열섬현상이 발생하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이상기온현상인 열섬현상의 해결방안 중 하나로 제시되고 있는 건축물의 옥상녹화시 건축물의 온도 저감효과가 건축물 화재의 발화원인 중 하나인 전기화재에 미치는 영향을 살펴보고자 한다.

  • 2003년 대구지하철화재를 보면 각종 대형 화재사고에서 법정 피난유도(유도등, 조명등)만으로는 화재 시 발생하는 연기 및 정전에 의하여 피난방향을 유도할 수 없음이 증명되었으며, 건축 계획적 측면에서의 안전을 확보하였다 하더라도 비상시 유도 설비들이 유도성능을 제대로 발휘하지 못 할 경우에 화재 상황으로부터 피난의 위험성을 가지고 있다고 할 수 있다. 따라서 소방 설비의 의존이 필요치 않은 자체적인 발광이 가능한 축광 안전용품이 필요시 하게 되었으며, 이에 현재 사용하고 있는 기존의 축광제품은 휘도가 떨어져 사실상 그 효과가 미미하며, 이 문제점을 해결하고자 지속발광 가능한 축광소재를 개발 하고자 한다.

A Study on the Adaptability of the CO Sensor as A Fire Detection Sensor According to the Test Fire Source of UL 268 (UL 268 시험화원에 따른 CO센서의 화재감지센서로서의 적용성에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to test the adaptability of the CO sensor as a fire detector by analyzing its sensing characteristics on fire. In order to test the applicability, we designed and made a fire testing ground whose size is similar to that regulated by UL 268, carried out real fire tests suggested by UL 268, and conducted a comparison analysis on the sensing characteristics between the CO sensor and a photoelectric smoke detector by different types of fire source. The experiment result to the sensing characteristics of the CO sensor is about twice to three times faster than that of the photoelectric smoke detector, proceeding with incomplete combustion such as paper and wood fire source in the initial fire. Especially in case of wood smoldering fire, sensing characteristics of the CO sensor is very excellent.
