This research was conducted on all banking sub-sector companies listed on the Indonesian capital market during a period of eight years, namely 2012-2019 which were selected using the purposive sampling method. The advancement of financial reporting technology is measured by two indicators based on the Internet financial reporting approach. Risk efficiency is measured using three indicators with a risk proxy relative efficiency approach using value at risk. Financial decisions are measured by two indicators that represent funding decisions and investment decisions. Financial performance is measured by two indicators with the profitability approach, and firm value is measured by two indicators based on the investor perception approach. The data analysis technique in this study used multivariate analysis with SEM-PLS. The empirical findings of this study are the advances in financial reporting technology, financial decisions, and risk-based efficiency value have a significant effect on firm value, while financial performance does not have a significant effect on firm value. Banking companies reduce risk to achieve efficiency and result in lower profits.

  • This study investigates the effects of financial development on the foreign direct investment (FDI) flow in host countries. Using bilateral FDI data from 34 OECD source countries to 146 host countries, we performed panel data analysis based on a gravity FDI equation. We hypothesized that the financial development would increase the volume of FDI flows. The results suggest that the well-functioning finance market of source countries as well as a better accessable financial market of host countries contribute to the increase in FDI of OECD in their partner countries. We found also that the financial development effects of source countries are larger than those of host countries. This result shows that the financial development can play a crucial role to impact the FDI inflows as push factor in source country than as a pull factor in host countries.

  • Our business conglomerates are sharing their fates economically because of mutual debt warranty among their own affiliates and excessive financial loans. For this reason, it is inevitably restrictive to obtain the whole information on such conglomerates by individual and consolidated financial statements. To solve this problem, the system of combined financial statement was introduced through modifications of the Act of the outside audit of corporations in 1988. As a result, 15 out of this nation's 30 major business conglomerates prepared and submitted their own combined financial statements. In this paper, all financial statements are grouped into financial and non-financial parts, based on characteristics of business control and combined financial statement. Then the business size, financial rate and internal transactions for each of the conglomerates are analyzed, based on which problems of the combined financial statement as announced publicly are clarified. For the system, this study suggests improvement points such as a sufficient publication of any possible situations and interest coordination caused between the date of business settlement and that of preparing combined financial statements by applying principles of sharing to the evaluation of valuable instrument papers for investment and by determining the amount, 5% accounting for the total amount of debt warranty, foreign exchange assets and debts.

  • The purpose of this paper is to examine how the social system of deposit insurance affected the financial market in Korea. Specifically, we want to know how much the risk-seeking behavior of financial institutions has increased or decreased. The most important feature of the deposit insurance system is to prevent the insolvency of financial institutions and to properly protect depositors. In recent studies, it has been argued that characteristics of deposit insurance bring moral hazard of financial institutions and that financial institutions make unreasonably risky investments. Therefore, in this study, we will first examine whether such previous research can be applied to the Korean financial market. Next, we will examine the appropriateness of the differential premium rate that is currently used for each financial institution in the Korean financial market. In order to test the first hypothesis, we used the Capital Asset Pricing Model (CAPM) to calculate the total risk for each financial institution. As a result, significant changes were found in all regions before and after the introduction of the deposit insurance system. As for testing the second hypothesis, we conducted a variance analysis of financial institutions' indexes before and after the introduction of the deposit insurance and we discovered significance of the total risk difference.

  • The detrimental impacts of financial instability on the world economy during the financial crisis highlighted the requirement to understand the existing financial circumstances. Stability and developments in financial conditions are important for economic prosperity. This study analyses the impact of geopolitical risk on the economic conditions of some specific emerging economies using monthly data from January 1999 to September 2016 by applying a fixed-effects panel data model. The estimation results demonstrated that geopolitical risk has a significant, negative impact on financial conditions. It shows geopolitical risk could be seen as a key factor that contributes towards financial conditions. Further, it implies that negative shocks of high geopolitical risk experienced by emerging economies are one of the primary reasons for the financial conditions' deterioration. The findings provide important insights for governments, policymakers, and investors. For instance, governments and politicians should refrain from expressing or producing tension, economic discomfort, or news that is likely to increase a high geopolitical risk. Maintaining a close eye on geopolitical risk and its sources may also help to stabilize financial conditions and develop a well-functioning financial system. As a result, investors would be better informed about an economy's economic and financial conditions, allowing them to diversify their international portfolios and devise investing strategies during uncertain economic times.

Furthermore, the weight for each key factor was calculated by using ANP. As a result of ANP, operations, customer experience, and security were important in order. Also, the degree of easiness for connecting with other systems and the various abilities for representing the contents of the omni-channels were derived as the important key factors.

  • This study examines the nonlinear relationship between financial development and economic growth in Pakistan using the threshold regression model for the period 1980-2017. We also employed quantile regression with 0.25, 0.50, and 0.75 quantiles of conditional distribution. The quantile regression is based on minimizing of sum of squared residuals. The result indicates that economic growth responds positively to financial development when the level of financial development surpasses the threshold value of 0.151. However, when financial development lies below the threshold value (that is, 0.151), its impact on economic growth is negative. Thus, when financial development of Pakistan surpasses the threshold level, it contributes more towards economic growth since greater level of financial development contributes more to boosts economic growth. This finding reveals that economic growth reacts differently to financial development, and the relationship between financial development and economic growth is U-shaped in Pakistan. Among the other variables, physical capital, labor force, and government expenditure exert a positive effect on economic growth. Furthermore, inflation rate and trade openness have an insignificant impact on economic growth. The results of quantile regression also confirm the non-linear relationship between financial development and economic growth in Pakistan. The finding of this study suggests revamping of financial sector policies in Pakistan.
