Odontogenic myxoma: a case report with recent image modalities

  • The odontogenic myxoma is an benign, slow growing neoplasm which is of ectomesenchymal origin. This neoplasm occurs almost exclusively in the jaw bones and comprises 0.2% to 17.7% of odontogenic tumors. The odontogenic myxoma may show a wide spectrum of radiographic appearances, unilocular, multilocular radiolucency and a distinct or diffuse border, making the differential diagnosis difficult. We present a case of the odontogenic myxoma in the maxilla with conventional and recent image modalities. Occlusal film revealed a medially extended multilocular lesion with intralesional fine and straight trabeculations from the scalloped margin and buccal expansion and thinning of cortical bone. Computed tomogram revealed lesion showed equivalent density to the muscles in the left maxillary sinus with partial cortical discontinuity of medial wall and the tennis-racket pattern with internal straight trabeculations. MRI revealed intermediate signal intensity on Tl weighted image and high signal intensity on T2 weighted image. In Gd enhanced MR image, the peripheral portions of the lesion were enhanced.

Electrophoretic Deposition of YBCO powder in mixed suspension solution of iso-prophanol and iso-buthanol (이소프로판올과 이소부탄올 용매에서의 YBCO 분말 영동전착)

  • It is very important to select suspension solution for forming electrophoretic deposited YBCO thick mm, because it is heavily affected to its superconducting properties. In this paper, high-temperature superconductor films of $YBa_{2}Cu_{3}O_{7-x}$ were fabricated by electrophoretic deposition (EPD) from alcohol-based suspension such as iso-propanol, iso-butanol, and their mixture. For the formation of YBCO dense and adherent coating on a silver wire by EPD, 1 % PEG(1000) 2 ml, as a additive for making their surface crack-free, was used for electrophoresis. As a results, the cracks were considerably decreased and the superconducting critical current density $(J_e)$ without/with PEG was $1200A/cm^2$ and $2020A/cm^2$, which films deposited in mix iso-propanol and iso-butanol suspension.

The Synthesis of Green-Sensitizing Dye for Photographic Emulsion (사진유제용 Green-Sensitizing Dye의 합성)

  • The symmetric naphthothiazolo carbocyanine is of industrial importance as green-sensitizing dye in the spectral sensitization of emulsion microcrystals in negative film-making. In this study, green-sensitizing dye was prepared by the reaction of 2-methyl-3-sulfopropyl-5-phenyl-benzoxazolium(inner salt) with triethyl orthoacetate in the presence of triethylamine. The product was identified by using various analytical tools such as Elemental analyzer, IR spectrophotometer, UV-Vis spectrophotometer, $^1H$-NMR spectrometer, TGA and DSC. The maximum absorption peak in methanol solvent was 502nm. Therefore, it was concluded that benzoxazolo carbocyanine dye can be used as green-sensitizing dye for the spectral sensitization of photographic emulsion.

  • Recently, nanoporous low-k materials using porogen (pore generating material) template method have gained much attraction due to the feasible advantage of dielectric constant decrease with the increase of porogen content, which is burning out and making air void by thermal curing. In nanoporous thin films, further, control of pore size and its distribution is very important to retain suitable thermal, mechanical and electrical properties. In this study, nanoporous low-k films were prepared with MTMS-BTMSE copolymer and porogen. The effect of interaction of copolymer matrix and porogen on pore size and distribution was comparatively to investigate with molecular structure and end functional group. The characterization of nanoporous thin film prepared was also performed using various techniques including NMR, GPC, Ellipsometer, FE-SEM, TGA, and FT-IR.

Recent Progress on Voltage Drop Compensation in Top Emission Organic Light Emitting Diodes (OLED)

  • The voltage drop due to the thin cathode film at the large size top emission OLED panel was successfully compensated with making electrical contact between thin cathode and anode auxiliary electrode by 355nm wavelength of laser. It was found that the luminance uniformity dramatically increased from around 15% to more than 80% through this electrical compensation between thin cathode and anode auxiliary electrode. Moreover, the removing process for EL materials on the anode auxiliary electrode process by laser was very reliable and stable. Therefore, it is thought that the EL removal method using laser to make electrical contacts is very appropriate to mass production for such a large size top emission OLEDs to obtain high uniformity of luminance.

  • The recent growth in the portable display industry has been dominated by flexible display, moreover, several developing of using LCD technology has been in making the flexible display work effectively, however flexible device is not practical. Recently, the study on the multi-display screen has been published as the needs of larger screen in mobile device has been increased. The multi-display screen which is composed of two LCD panels, has the characteristics of the seamless gap between two panels. To meet the needs of this multi-display, in this paper, the study is performed to design the seamless device which consist of LCD panels, light film, back light and driver, and finally, we evaluated the effectiveness of seamless folding mechanism.

  • This study suggests a technique to implement the production of animation by blending between key frame animation and motion capture animation through short animation 'Drip.' It reduced the time taken to produce an animation by not only enabling efficient process management through mutual organic connection but also conducting a process of mutually making up for weak points of key frame animation and motion capture animation. Through this, it was intended to be helpful in efficient animation production by overcoming the limitation of key frame animation and motion capture animation and perceiving and applying a complex process.

  • A new chip on glass(COG) technique by making use of a high power diode laser for LCD driver IC packaging of LCD has been developed. A laser joining technology of the connection of IC chip to glass panel has several advantages over conventional method such as hot plate joining: shorter process time, high reliability of joining, and better fur fine pitch joining. The reach time to cure temperature of ACF in laser joining is within 1 second. In this study, results show that the total process time of joining is reduced by halves than that of conventional method. The adhesion strength is mainly 100-250 N/cm. It is confirmed that the COG technology using high power diode laser joining can be applied to advanced LCDs with a fine pitch.

Developing Designs and Making Men's Outdoor Breathable Waterproof Jackets with Solar Cells for Emergency Communications

  • This study provides the structural design for commercialization of outdoor breathable waterproof jackets for men merged with solar cells to enable emergency communications, utilizing wearable devices to develop smart clothing and extend convenience in everyday life. The most popular waterproof jacket with two-layer and three-layer moisture-permeable waterproof fabric was selected, based on previous studies of functional outdoor jackets and style with affinity to fashion. Flexible solar films suitable for clothing were embedded in the lining of the sleeve area and hood visor, and printed film was developed to balance weight and design. High performance smart solar jackets have application to expanding the use of smart phones for everyday and emergency communication, and leisure and outdoor sports activities, as well as day-to-day functions as a waterproof breathable outdoor jacket for men. It is also eco-friendly. Satisfying both the aesthetic and practical, a solar cell jacket with smart features, is an innovative tool for use in a variety of outdoor activities, and a fashion-forward commercialized product.
