Improvement on Bailey-Paar's Optimal Extension Field Arithmetic (Bailey-Paar 최적확장체 연산의 개선)

  • Optimal Extension Fields (OEFs) are finite fields of a special form which are very useful for software implementation of elliptic curve cryptosystems. Bailey and Paar introduced efficient OEF arithmetic algorithms including the $p^ith$ powering operation, and an efficient algorithm to construct OEFs for cryptographic use. In this paper, we give a counterexample where their $p^ith$ powering algorithm does not work, and show that their OEF construction algorithm is faulty, i.e., it may produce some non-OEFs as output. We present improved algorithms which correct these problems, and give improved statistics for the number of OEFs.

  • The applicability of the field-consistency paradigm, which was originally employed for analysis of locking due to constrained energy having the second power of a strain, is extended to the constrained energy having a quadratic form of strain. For the extension, nearly-incompressible plane strain problem is considered by introducing the concept of reduced minimization. The field-consistent analysis of the plane strain problem leads to a clear and systematic understanding on the relation amongst constraints imposed on element, spurious constraint -free optimal points, and integration order used.

  • Let F be a finite real abelian extension of a global function field k with G = Gal(F/k). Assume that F is an extension field of the Hilbert class field $K_e$ of k and is contained in a cyclotomic function field $K_n$. Let $\ell$ be any prime number not dividing $ph_k{\mid}G{\mid}$. In this paper, we show that if $\theta{\in}\mathbb{Z}[G]$ annihilates the Sylow $\ell$-subgroup of ${\mathcal{O}}^{\times}_F/{\mathcal{C}}_F$, then (q-1)$\theta$ annihilates the Sylow $\ell$-subgroup of ${\mathcal{Cl}}_F$.

Lean Burn Combustion Characteristics of Propane Premixed Flame in Electric Field (전기장 인가에 따른 프로판 예혼합 화염의 희박연소 특성)

  • In this study, characteristics of a propane-air premixed flame sin DC electric field was investigated. The stainless steel Bunsen burner and the stainless steel ring were used as electrode, and the high voltage supply was used for applying electric field. Flammability range increased significantly when the positive voltage was applied because of extension of LBO limit, while it shrank when the negative voltage was applied. The reason for this was not much related to the burning velocity, but the induced flow around the burner by electric field. withNOx production slightly increased after positive voltage was applied in identical equivalence ratio. Nevertheless, it was advantageous to apply the positive electric field to reduce the NOx since the extension of LBO limit makes the burner possible to operate in very low equivalence ratio.

  • Let K be an algebraic number field. If k is the maximal cyclotomic subextension in K then the Schur K-group S(K) is obtained from the Schur k-group S(k) by scalar extension. In the paper we study projective Schur group PS(K) which is a generalization of Schur group, and prove that a projective Schur K-algebra is obtained by scalar extension of a projective Schur k-algebra where k is the maximal radical extension in K with mild condition.

A Study on the Revision and Extension for Agricultural Field of the KDC (한국십진분류법 농학류의 분류기호 수정전개에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the problems of classified items by directly applying the domestic literary publications of agriculture field one by one and to present revision scheme having KDC as the subject of the study. In order to do this, I directly applied and analyzed KDC's 4th edition to the 5,400 literatures of agricultural field from the collection list database at the National Library of Korea. Revision scheme of KDC's agricultural field that's been made based on the above revision scheme tried to follow the basic classified systems and items of KDC's 4th edition, if possible, and in terns of necessary items, it includes only addition of cycles and the minimum subdivided extension.
