본 논문은 데이빗 미첼의 장편소설 "클라우드 애틀라스"와 영어로 번역 출판된 박민규의 중편 "버핏과의 저녁식사"를 21세기 글로벌문학이 수행해야 할 윤리적 의무에 초점을 맞춰 분석한 것이다. 국제적 배경과 인물을 중심으로 펼쳐지는 오늘날 소설에는 현실의 지배적 이데올로기에 맞서 새로운 세계를 상상해내야 할 윤리적 의무가 있다고 여겨지는데, 미첼과 박민규의 작품이 각각 이러한 책무에 어떻게 실패하는지, 혹은 성공할 수 있는지 보여주고 있다는 것이 본 논문의 주장이다. 우선 미첼의 소설은 다섯 개의 대륙과 수백 년의 시간의 넘나들며 각기 다른 여섯 가지 이야기를 엮은 '코즈모폴리턴, 포스트모던, 포스트휴먼 소설'로 칭송 받지만, 정작 경계를 넘어 모든 인류가 연결되어 있다는 휴머니즘 사상을 설파하는데 그치고 만다. 이런 의미에서 다양한 국제적 배경과 문학 장르의 혼합은 피상적인 국제화와 혼종의 흉내에 그칠 뿐, 억압적 현실에 대한 아무 도전도 던지지 못하고 있다. 반면 "버핏과의 저녁식사"는 투자가 워렌 버핏의 유명한 자선 식사 경매를 통해 버핏과 저녁식사를 하게 된 한국 청년의 짧은 이야기를 다룬다. 이 낯설고도 난해한 중편에서 한국청년 안씨는 정작 이 비싼 식사의 진짜 목적인 버핏의 투자 정보에는 관심을 두지 않음으로써, '자선행사'의 이면에 감추어진 자본주의의 민낯을 드러낸다. 즉, 오늘날 국제사회에서 '상식'이나 '도덕'이라 여겨지는 많은 가치들이 사실은 국제자본주의의 원활한 작동과 맞물려 있음을 일깨워주며 글로벌문학의 저항정신을 구현하고 있는 것이다.

학문의 발달은 연구자들의 꾸준한 노력뿐 아니라 패러다임의 수호와 전환을 거치면서도 이루어진다. 패러다임의 수호와 전환은 변칙적인 사례에 대한 논의를 통해 이루어진다. 수학교육학 역시 몇 가지 탐구적 패러다임의 전환을 거치며 발달해왔다. 탐구적 패러다임의 전환은 이전 패러다임의 삭제를 의미하지는 않는다. 대신, 기존의 탐구적 패러다임이 건재하는 와중에 기존과는 다른 연구 목적 및 현상학적 기반을 가진 접근법이 발생함으로써 학계의 외연 확장에 기여하였다. 그러나 여전히 수학교육연구는 과학적이고 객관적이어야만 한다는 관점이 존재한다. 본고는 이러한 객관성이 모든 연구가 반드시 따라야만 하는 절대적인 원칙은 아님을 논증한다. 이를 위해 예술기반 연구를 일례로 제시한다. 예술기반 연구는 처음부터 객관적이기를 명백히 거부하며, 앎을 추구함에 있어 논리와 감성의 통합이 중요함을 주장한다. 연구 활동의 근본적인 목적이 지식 생산과 사회의 긍정적인 변화에 있다면, 예술기반 연구는 이러한 본질의 실행에 충실하다. 본고는 예술기반 연구의 기법 중 하나인 소설적 글쓰기 기법을 적용하여 수학교육연구를 수행하고, 그 결과물인 소설을 제시하였다. 그럼으로써 소설적 글쓰기 기법과 예술기반 연구를 수학교육연구의 주요 접근으로 받아들이는 것이 적합한가에 대한 학계의 논의를 촉발하고자 하였다.

This paper examines the crisis of the protagonist's Jewish identity in Philip Roth's Portnoy's Complaint. Jewish values are centered on the philosophy of Judaism and Jewish history. Judaism is based on an ethical monotheism which is Bible-centered. It is characterized by its covenant with God, its humanism, and its emphasis on moral action. It provides essential reasons for man's existence and stresses human confidence and sufficiency. Jewish values can be found in words such as "good," "humanity," "dignity," "responsibility," and "sense of community." These positive Jewish values pervade Philip Roth's fiction paradoxically. Throughout especially Portnoy's Complaint, the protagonist fails to embrace Jewish values in contrast to Bellow or Malamud's heroes and repeat the same mistakes eliciting fits of laughter from readers. The protagonist suffers from his strongly-felt ethical and altruistic impulses perpetually warring with his extreme sexual longings against which he struggles. His desperation grows as he finds himself unable to channel his dissatisfaction and change his situations. His dominating mother and his confusion over Jewishness and Americanism are the main obstacles to his establishment of self-identity. He attempts to build up his gender identity and Jewish identity through his ego-centric sexual relationship with shikses(female gentiles). His inability to embody Jewish values leads to the failure to fulfill his identity. Roth paradoxically shows that the protagonist's realization of Jewishness is essential to the cure for his fragmented self.

Postmodern American science fiction authors often dramatize the human fear and hope for the newly emerging artificial life forms. For example, Helen as an advanced artificial intelligence Richard Power's Galatea 2.2 shows that the student's memorizing efforts for exams can be useless someday. In Neal Stephenson's Snow Crash machines are liable to be infected with viruses like human bodies. In He, She and It, Piercy's parallel of an artificial human (Yod) and a mythic personification (Golem) allegorically reveals the pandora-like unpredictable effect of advanced technology. More than the mechanical entities (the diffusion and linear models for Latour), these biologically artificial entities reveal the limitations of even the fantastically idealized technology simply because the human being as the creators or impersonators of these machines are not perfect. Compared to illustrative mechanism, biologically artificial entities (Latour's transition or whirlwind models) are inherently rebellious because of their closeness to the creators. The Butler's organic environmental interaction of the Earthseed convincingly demonstrates how the wrong use of science ruins the holy earth and also how human beings survive through the right use of effective science with the aid of anthroposophy.

The EPC/Turnkey Contract goes to the extreme in allocating risks to the contractor and depending on the types of project, this may be regarded as unacceptable. It has also gone to the extreme in the extent to which the contractor is responsible for the specification and design of the Works. The employer is not responsible for correctness of any information provided by him nor for correctness of any specification or other matter included in the Employer's Requirements, except the definition of the intended purpose and criteria for testing and performance. With such conditions it is surprising that the employer is entitled to interfere in the contractors performance to an extent that is close to what is norm for a construction contract with employer design and with normal risk allocation. The combination of risk allocation and inappropriate administrative provisions makes the EPC/Turnkey Contract a document that will meet severe resistance from contractors. It is also likely that employers will see the risks and difficulties from their own perspective. It is a fiction that the EPC/Turnkey Contract will give the employer a contact with a certainty of final price and completion date. It is not a fiction that the EPC/Turnkey Contract carries many seeds for disputes between the parties. The Orange Book has become an accepted document even if it clearly contains some weaknesses. Some of these have been corrected in the Plant Contract. In my opinion FIDIC should let users become more familiar with the Plant Contract as a follow up to the Orange Book.

미래형 공상과학영화인 SF영화를 보면은 미래의 문의 모습을 쉽게 접 할 수 있다. 사람이 힘을 들여 문열 열지 않아도 시스템상 알아서 문이 열리고 닫힌다. 현재도 이러한 문은 쉽게 찾아 볼 수 있다. 하지만 사람에 대한 인식이 불가능 한 과거에는 그저 유동인구가 많은 백화점이나 마트 등 공공장소에서만 이용이 되어 왔다. 하지만 현재 많은 연구가 이루어지고 있으며 많은 발전을 거듭해온 영상처리 기술을 융합함으로써, 개인의 생활에 침해 받지 않으며 아무나 출입이 불가능한 자동출입문을 구현 함으로써, 일상생활에 좀 더 편리성을 추구한다.

Freud's' discovery of the unconscious' is a great revolution. Because of this, human beings were able to get the opportunity to look into their inner than honest. Lu Xun and Guo Mo Ruo a pair of realism and romanticism literature representative of Chinese modern literature writers. They then absorb the psychoanalytic theory o Freud along with other Western zeitgeist, introduce them widely inliterary theory and creative practice, which was again. Lu Xun was reflected in the human world of the unconscious Freud uncovered on the basis of strict realism literary spirit, Guo Mo Ruo is in accordance with the romantic literary time for the purpose of 'art for art' depicting a man's inner psychological well did. Although Freud spirit they claim to social and literary artistry of literature based on different yarns in the Acceptance of analytical theory, has the characteristics of a common sentiment analysis method to express and describe the unconscious human potential. 5.4 When Lu Xun and Guo Mo Ruo China Journalism writers, including Freud's psychoanalytic theory has embraced the Enlightenment and the old feudal society was a major contribution to want to read exactly what the human inner hearing. Chinese modern literature writers have to accept sometimes positive, sometimes accepting the psychoanalytic theory was intellectually sharp criticism, which could be a great instrument in time to the 5.4 Enlightenment and psychological fiction novel further development.

The study was a descriptive cross-sectional survey which investigated the reading preferences of secondary school students in Nigeria during the lockdown occasioned by COVID-19 pandemic. A hundred secondary school students in Ile- Ife and Ilesa in Osun State, Nigeria were the study respondents. Close ended self-administered questionnaire was used to obtain data. Of the one hundred questionnaire which were applied to the study respondents, ninety-three were retrieved. Data obtained were analyzed using simple frequencies and percentages. The study established that majority of respondents were not pressured to read but read for pleasure. Preference for a wide range of fiction and non-fiction books which was read for purposes ranging from academic, social, relaxation and information was indicated by respondents. Availability of reading materials determined reading preference of majority of respondents as many could not afford to access electronic books whether free or not. The researchers recommended that different types of reading materials that suit the reading preferences and meet the diverse purpose of reading should be provided for the secondary school students during lockdown to improve their reading habits. Public libraries should function during this lock down period within the guidelines of the appropriate health authorities, while school libraries should be equipped to offer virtual services during the lockdown and the students should be exposed to e-books for their reading pleasure.

The purpose of this study was to investigate high school students' competencies of creativity thinking, critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and digital competence by implementing science fiction STEAM program. Based on the story of 'Fritz Haber' and the 'Garden of Dawn', a STEAM program was developed according to the ADDIE model. In the analysis stage, the purpose of the teaching-learning program using novels was set, and learners and learning environments were analyzed. At the design stage, the novels 'Fritz Harbor' and 'Garden of Dawn' were selected, learning goals were set according to the achievement standards of the curriculum, and learning contents and learning activities were sequenced and designed. In the development stage, teaching and learning materials were developed in a module format, implemented to classes, and evaluated. Pre-test and post-tests were conducted to identify the five major competencies such as creativity thinking, critical thinking, communication, collaboration, digital competence. The collected data was verified by paired t-test using SPSS. The results of the study showed statistically significant results in creative thinking, critical thinking, and digital competency.

본 연구는 과학교육의 다양한 모습을 탐색할 필요가 있다는 문제의식에서 출발하여 성인을 대상으로 하는 과학문화 활동에 대한 실천적인 연구의 필요성에 따라 수행되었다. 이에 성인 4명의 과학소설 독서토론을 연구 사례로 선정하고 과학문화 활동에서 나타나는 과학적 태도와 과학에 대한 태도를 포함하는 과학 관련 태도를 질적으로 탐색하였다. 참여자들은 과학기술 전문가가 아닌 30대 직장인으로 독서와 토론 활동에 익숙하며 이를 취미로 즐기는 사람들이다. 작품 선정을 위한 구체적인 기준을 마련하고 연구 참여자들과의 협의를 거쳐 3권의 과학소설을 선정하였다. 4개월 동안 총 3회차의 독서토론 활동, 각 회차에 대한 사후 면담, 전체 활동 종료 후 개별 심층 면담의 과정으로 진행되었으며, 독서토론은 자유롭게 논제와 의견을 제시하는 비구조화된 자유토론으로 진행되었다. 연구 과정에서 녹음 및 전사된 독서토론 담화, 사후 및 심층 개별 면담, 연구자의 관찰 기록지, 참여자들의 독서기록과 같은 다양한 자료를 수집하였고 수집한 자료들은 지속적 비교 방법을 사용하여 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 참여자들은 과학소설 독서토론에서 과학적 태도를 발휘한 것으로 나타났다. 참여자들이 보인 과학기술 비판과 윤리적 성찰, 합리성에 대한 문제인식과 근거 제시, 과학적 호기심 해소와 추론은 과학소설의 특징과 밀접한 관련성을 맺는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 참여자들은 과학소설의 텍스트적 특징인 이야기를 통해 과학 이해에 대한 부담을 낮추고 흥미의 발달을 보이며 과학을 즐길 수 있는 대상으로 인식하는 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 참여자들은 이해와 학습 대상으로서의 과학이 아닌 문화로서 과학을 즐기는 활동 자체에 스스로 의미를 부여함으로써 과학에 대한 태도 변화를 나타내었다. 위 결과를 바탕으로 본 연구는 학교 교육 이후에도 성인을 대상으로 과학에 대한 긍정적인 태도를 신장하기 위한 과학문화의 의미를 밝히고 시사점을 제시하였다.
