  • Thousands of festivals are held all around the country each year but most of them do not show any distinctive characteristics as they are all alike. It is the aim of this study to select a core element of each festival that suit the need of its characteristics which will lead to the continuity and success. This endeavor will also play an important role in setting up a brand identity. Delphi technique will be adopted to suggest a core program element of MEDI FESTA to be the representing festival of Daegu.

Smart Service and Progressive Strategies of a Smart Village Project in Rural Area - A Case Study of Geumsan-gun - (농촌지역 스마트빌리지 사업의 우선순위 서비스 도출과 추진 전략 - 충청남도 금산군을 중심으로 -)

  • In this paper, for the smart village project in Geumsan-gun, the problems of the village were derived for the residents. And the business model of the smart village was presented. In the introduction, we looked at domestic cases related to the smart village project. And In November 2019, this paper reflected the results of the resident survey(314) and extracted important smart services using the IPA method. The results of the investigation are as follows. The government's smart village project aims to increase agricultural and fishery production and improve the urban environment. Geumsan residents want to increase agricultural production and develop tourism. The smart village model in Geumsan-gun is promoted in three directions. (1) Smart villages require smart services for crime prevention, parking lots, and public transportation. (2) Smart villages need ICT-based ginseng festivals, smart farms, and tourism services. (3) Smart villages need ICT-based culture and welfare services. The rural areas in Korea are expected to improve the quality of their living environment through the smart village project.

Values of Infographics for Promoting Cultural Learning Resources and Tourist Attractions: A Case of Patum Village in Thailand

  • Infographics are influential and valuable communication tools for providing information, and can be used for promoting cultural learning resources and cultural tourism destinations. Therefore, this article presents values of using infographics for promoting Patum's culture and tourism in Phrao District, Chiang Mai, Thailand as cultural learning resources and tourist attractions. Employing a research and development approach, this study utilized three distinct instruments: (1) an interview form engaging 40 locals to uncover insights on promoting Patum village, (2) an assessment form evaluated by three arts and design experts, and (3) questionnaires distributed to 92 participants to gauge perceptions and satisfaction. The findings showcased the high quality and appropriateness of the eight infographics. Audiences derived six key values, including acquiring knowledge, fostering the promotion of Patum's culture, festivals, religions and beliefs, deriving aesthetic enjoyment, encouraging cultural tourism, contributing to the education sector, and enhancing comprehension of Patum's history. Participants expressed high satisfaction ($\bar{x}$=4.46) with the infographic use. The developed infographics are usable and valuable information to help audiences recognize Patum cultural learning resources and tourist destinations. They might be further tailored to the recognition of Patum village in the near future, affecting the area's development by increasing local people's incomes through cultural learning resources and tourism activities.

Emotional Expression of the Virtual Influencer "Luo Tianyi(洛天依)" in Digital'

  • In the context of contemporary digital media, virtual influencers have become an increasingly important form of socialization and entertainment, in which emotional expression is a key factor in attracting viewers. In this study, we take Luo Tianyi, a Chinese virtual influencer, as an example to explore how emotions are expressed and perceived through facial expressions in different types of videos. Using Paul Ekman's Facial Action Coding System (FACS) and six basic emotion classifications, the study systematically analyzes Luo Tianyi's emotional expressions in three types of videos, namely Music show, Festivals and Brand Cooperation. During the study, Luo Tianyi's facial expressions and emotional expressions were analyzed through rigorous coding and categorization, as well as matching the context of the video content. The results show that Enjoyment is the most frequently expressed emotion by Luo Tianyi, reflecting the centrality of positive emotions in content creation. Meanwhile, the presence of other emotion types reveals the virtual influencer's efforts to create emotionally rich and authentic experiences. The frequency and variety of emotions expressed in different video genres indicate Luo Tianyi's diverse strategies for communicating and connecting with viewers in different contexts. The study provides an empirical basis for understanding and utilizing virtual influencers' emotional expressions, and offers valuable insights for digital media content creators to design emotional expression strategies. Overall, this study is valuable for understanding the complexity of virtual influencer emotional expression and its importance in digital media strategy.

Experiences of School Participation and the Need for School-Participation Leave for Employed Parents (취업 부모의 학교참여 경험 및 학교참여휴가제에 대한 요구)

  • This study attempted to investigate school participation experiences and the need for a school-participation leave for employed parents. A school participation leave is a paid or unpaid leave that guarantees workers to take time-off for school participation regarding children's educational purposes. We reviewed cases of school participation in other countries. There are similar types of educational leave in Russia, Greece, Italia, Sweden, Swaziland, and South Africa. We collected survey data from 1,194 employed parents (794 fathers and 400 mothers) whose children attend kindergarten, elementary, middle, or high-school. This study compares school participation experiences and needs by parent gender. The results showed that 62 % of the fathers and 80 % of the mothers participated in any type of school meetings and events at least once in the previous year. Fathers attended school events such as art festivals and mothers attended PTA meetings, school events, and parent-teacher conferences. The most frequently mentioned reason for non-participation among parents was related to work. A total of 87.7% of the parents agreed that a school-participation leave should be introduced. The results of the logistic regression showed that mothers compared to fathers, college graduates compared to post-secondary graduates, those whose children attended preschool or elementary school compared to high school, and those who had longer working hours were more likely to agree on the introduction of school participation leave. In conclusion, a policy intervention such as school-participation leave should be considered to provide employed parents time to be involved in their children's education and participate in school activities.

Visitors Satisfaction and Behavioral Intention of Local Historical Culture Festival (지역역사문화축제 방문객 만족도와 행동의도)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the factors that the festival image has on the festival satisfaction of visitors, and the effect of festival satisfaction has on the degree of visitors' behavior. In order to accomplish this research purpose, this study collected data of 233 visitors. Regression analysis was conducted in order to achieve the causal relationship between each variables. The result of data analysis revealed that the factors of festival image suitability, convenience, and entertainment had a positive (+) effect on satisfaction. And, satisfaction was verified to have a positive effect on behavioral intention. Therefore, these results implied that this study will contribute to the revitalization of festivals by both discovering images based on unique historical characteristics and presenting them as utilization plans. Especially, it is necessary to find unique contents with history, representative programs by age, and stories related to historical figures. Further validation studies are necessary to ascertain this fact utilizing the image value factors that have negative influences.

An Improved Method for Phenology Model Parameterization Using Sequential Optimization (순차적인 최적화 기법에 의한 생물계절모형 모수추정 방식 개선)

  • Accurate prediction of peak bloom dates (PBD) of flowering cherry trees is critical for organizing local cherry festivals and other associated cultural and economic activities. A two-step phenology model is commonly used for predicting flowering time depending on local temperatures as a result of two consecutive steps followed by chill and heat accumulations. However, an extensive computation requirement for parameter estimation has been a limitation for its practical use. We propose a sequential parameterization method by exploiting previously unused records of development stages. With an extra constraint formed by heat accumulation between two intervening stages, each parameter can then be solved sequentially in much shorter time than the brute-force method. The result was found to be almost identical to the previous solution known for cherry trees (Prunus ${\times}$ yedoensis) in the Tidal Basin, Washington D.C.

A Study on the Formation Factors and Characters of Yi Women's Headdress in China (중국 이족(彝族) 여성 두식(頭飾)의 형성요인과 특징에 관한 연구)

  • The headdress is one of the most important clothing characters in China, as it was used to distinguish the 55 minority groups in China. Each minority group has a unique headdress culture. Among the 55 minority groups, the Zang, the Yi, and the Miao focus their ethnic costumes on the headdress, and have a more distinctive headdress culture compared to be other nationality groups. The Yi is one of the minority groups that linvd in Southwest China. They usually lived in compact communities in Sichuan, Yunnan, and Guizhou provinces, as well as the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous region. The total population of the Yi is the sixth largest among the 55 minority groups. Modern scholars believe that the Yi people are descendants of the ancient Qiang people, which is a group that lived in Northwest China six or seven thousand years before. It is believed that the Qiang went down to the southern part of China and allied with the aboriginals in that region, and this group of people became the Yi, Due to its long history, cultural background, and the large number of people and settlements, they have produced a unique costume culture. The women's headdress culture is considered to be the one of the most important characteristics of their costume culture. There are four forming element of the Yi women's headdress, religious faith, myths, geographical distribution and customs & festivals. The first three elements play an important role in the protection and spread of headdress, while the fourth element provides potential for the modern headdress development. Because of much influence factors, more than 100 types of Yi women headdresses have developed. Depends on categories, Yi woman headdress can be divided into kerchief, hat, fascinator and other accessories wore on the hand. This study investigated the development of the Yi women's headwear, and screened and analyzed representative Yi women accessories, such as the headscarf, hat, and fascinator. This analysis will provide basic materials for further studies of Yi women's headdress or costume.

A Study on the Tales related to the Creation of 'Humninjeongeum' of Sinmi and the Way of their culture-convergence contents (신미의 '훈민정음' 창제 관련 설화와 문화융합의 콘텐츠 방안)

  • So far, it has been a general opinion that 'Hunminjeongeum' creation was made only by King Sejong himself under Jiphyeonjeon scholars' help. However, this paper stresses that 'Hunminjeongeum' was made not only by King Sejong but also by Sinmi's positive effort on King Sejong's secret order, and examines the possibility of the culture-convergence contents related to these tales as well. To reveal the ground, the method of this research was proceeded particularly focusing on following texts: Sejongsillok, Munjongsillok, Hangukbulgyojeonseo, etc. The result was as followings. 1) King Sejong's absolute trust in Sinmi, 2) Sinmi's outstanding linguistic talent in Sanskrit. 3) King Sejong's donation of Amitaba-Triad Buddha images to Bokcheonsa Temple and Sejong's granting a respecting title of 'Wugukise Hyeogakjonja' to Sinmi. 4) Sinmi's vow to educate and spread 'Hunminjeongeum' based on Buddhism, and 5) Sejo's visit Sinmi at Bokcheonsa Temple. Furthermore, if the tales related to 'Hunminjeongeum' creation are activated into a type of national or regional events or festivals without remaining simply in a story level, it would be a good way to spread the excellence of convergence K-culture with various culture contents.

A Study on the Activation Method of Wearing Hanbok (20대 남녀의 한복 착용 활성화 방안에 대한 연구)

  • This paper identified the values and awareness of Koreans in 20s regarding Hanbok, the traditional clothing of Korea, and proposed an approach to promote the traditional clothing culture. The subject of the survey were male and female Koreans in their 20s who wear modern street clothes in places people frequently visit including in the metropolitan area and Chungcheong-do as well as those who wear Hanbok in Seoul and Jeonju, Jeollabuk-do. In accordance with the analysis of the survey, Koreans in their 20s rented Hanok rather than buying it. The respondents wore Hanbok for events, festivals or national holidays or while travelling. Elements to improve in Hanbok rental services were designs, materials, washing and stains. The decision factors for renting Hanbok were 'personal tendency' and 'advice from an expert.' While Koreans in their 20s had a positive awareness of Hanbok, they thought it was difficult to buy, rent and put on Hanbok and that it was not comfortable to wear. There was not sufficient opportunity and means to wear Hanbok due to insufficient accessories or shoes to match. On the basis of the analysis of the survey results, the following approach was proposed for the development of the traditional clothing culture. First of all, develop traditional clothing designers who can satisfy the personalities of Koreans in their 20s. It is necessary to develop experience-focused and participatory programs that provide systematic education regarding traditional clothing to pass down this tradition. In addition, it is necessary to create a social and cultural atmosphere that enables the Koreans in their 20s to easily wear Hanbok by popularizing Hanbok.
