Improvement of Intermittent Advancing Accuracy of Pneumatic Cylinder-Driven Roll Feeder

  • A proposed pneumatic cylinder-driven roll feeder and an air press were designed to be operated automatically by a PLC. The accuracy of the intermittent feed pitch of the roll feeder was evaluated by measuring lengths of cut-offs of a strip stock by a digimatic vernier caliper. At each predetermined feed pitch, the proposed roll feeder was tested 100 times by varying the feed/cut intervals as 2.0/1.5, 3.0/2.0, and 3.5/2.5 s as test sets. The lengths of the cutoffs of the strip stock ranged from 9.89-10.34, 12.1-12.65, and 15.21-15.67 mm at the predetermined 10, 12, and 15 mm feed pitch, respectively, among the total of 300 samples in each feed pitch, regardless of the feed/shear interval. Therefore, the feed/cut interval at each selected feed pitch was found to have no effect on the accuracy of the intermittent advancing of the strip stock.

  • This research introduces a new and improved design for a pneumatic cylinder driven roll feeder wherein each of the principal rotating feeder parts is configured so as to have feeding accuracy and to be low manufacturing cost. The feed pitch accuracy of the proposed roll feeder was evaluated by measuring lengths of cut offs of the strip stock with a shear attached to an air press. The air press was designed, manufactured, and mounted on the same table of the proposed roll feeder such that the strip stock maintained horizontal plane until the strip stock entered into the shear. The proposed roll feeder and the air press were designed to be operated automatically by a PLC employed controller. The feed pitch accuracy of the proposed roll feeder was analyzed by setting the pitch as 10, 12.5, and 15mm. At each predetermined feed pitch, the proposed roll feeder was tested 300 times as one test set and replicated three times. The average lengths of the cut offs of the strip stock ranged from 9.98 to 10.13mm, from 12.42 to 12.57mm, and from 14.96 to 15.06mm at the predetermined 10, 12.5, and 15mm feed pitch, respectively, among the total of 900 samples of each feed pitch. Main cause of variation of the length of the cut off of the strip stock fed by the proposed roll feeder was considered to be fluctuation of the air press during recompressing period of the air compressor to pressurize the air in the air tank. The largest difference between the maximum and the minimum length of the cut off was appeared while the air compressor recompressing the air. The air compressor used for this study restricted the air delivered to the proposed roll feeder while it was still running. Thus, this air delivery restriction problem should be improved by stabilizing the air press while the proposed roll feeder is running.

두과 사료작물 초종의 생산성, 사료가치 및 가축사육능력 평가 (Evaluating of Productivity, Feed Value and Stock Carrying Capacity of Forage Legumes)

  • 본 실험은 중부 지방에서 유기질 비료를 시용하여 두과 사료작물 초종의 생산성, 사료가치 및 가축사육능력을 조사하였고 그 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 두과 사료작물의 생초 수량과 건물수량은 초종 간 차이가 인정되었으며 공시 초종 중에서 red clover가 생초수량 38.6 ton/ha, 건물수량 7.8 ton/ha, CP수량 1.0 ton/ha, TDN수량 4.6 ton/ha로 다른 초종보다 유의하게 많았다(p<0.05). NDF와 ADF는 수확시기가 늦을수록 높은 경향을 나타내서 galega와 cicer milkvetch가 가장 높았고 yellow suckling clover가 가장 낮았다. 상대사료가치(RFV)는 galega와 cicer milkvetch를 제외한 나머지 품종이 100 이상의 값을 나타내어 우수하였으며 특히, yellow suckling clover, yellow blossom sweet clover, crimson clover, hairy vetch 등은 151 이상으로 1등급에 속하였다. 가축사육능력은 초종 평균으로 Kcp(2.18 head/ha/yr) > KTDN(1.25 head/ha/yr) > K(0.04 head/ha/yr) 순으로 높았고, 초종별로는 red clover가 K 0.05 head/ha/yr, Kcp 6.84 head/ha/yr, KTDN 3.64 head/ha/yr로 공시작물 중 가장 높은 가축사육능력을 나타내었다. 이상의 결과로 볼 때 두과 사료작물 중에서 red clover가 생산성, 사료가치 및 가축사육능력이 가장 우수하여 중부지방에서 두과 사료작물 생산에 있어서 적절한 초종으로 판단되었다.

An Approach for Stock Price Forecast using Long Short Term Memory

  • The Stock price analysis is an increasing concern in a financial time series. The purpose of the study is to analyze the price parameters of date, high, low, and news feed about the stock exchange price. Long short term memory (LSTM) is a cutting-edge technology used for predicting the data based on time series. LSTM performs well in executing large sequence of data. This paper presents the Long Short Term Memory Model has used to analyze the stock price ranges of 10 days and 20 days by exponential moving average. The proposed approach gives better performance using technical indicators of stock price with an accuracy of 82.6% and cross entropy of 71%.

중부지역에서 호밀, 트리티케일과 두과 사료작물 혼파에 따른 생산성, 사료가치 및 가축사육능력 비교 (Comparison of Dry Matter Yield, Feed Value and Stock Carrying Capacity at Mixture of Rye, Triticale and Legume in Central Region of Korea)

  • 본 실험은 중부 지방에서 Rye(곡우)와 Triticale(신영)의 단, 혼파 실험을 통하여 생산성, 사료가치 및 가축사육능력을 조사하여 중부지방에 적합한 초종을 선별하고자 하였으며, 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 동계 사료작물의 건물수량은 밭토양에서는 R+R이 5.20ton/ha로 가장 많았으나 R, T+R과 유의한 차이는 없었고, 논토양에서는 R+H가 5.20ton/ha로 가장 많았지만 T+H, R과의 유의한 차이는 없었다. 또한 모든 시험구에서 단파구에 대한 혼파구의 상대수량이 1.00보다 높아 혼파효과가 입증되었다. 상대사료가치는 밭토양, 논토양 모두 Triticale 혼파구에서 다른 시험구와 유의한 차이를 보였다. 가축사육능력은 $K_{CP}$$K_{TDN}$의 평균값으로 비교해 보았을 때, 밭토양에서는 R+R이 2.75, 논토양에서는 T+H가 2.84로서 가장 높은 값을 보였다. 이상의 결과로 볼 때 중부 지방에서 동계 사료작물 생산에 있어서 가장 적합한 초종은 밭토양에서는 Rye+Red clover 혼파이며, 논토양에서는 Triticale+Hairy vetch 혼파라고 판단된다.

Stock Market Forecasting : Comparison between Artificial Neural Networks and Arch Models

  • Data mining is the process of searching and analyzing large quantities of data for finding out meaningful patterns and rules. Artificial Neural Network (ANN) is one of the tools of data mining which is becoming very popular in forecasting the future values. Some of the areas where it is used are banking, medicine, retailing and fraud detection. In finance, artificial neural network is used in various disciplines including stock market forecasting. In the stock market time series, due to high volatility, it is very important to choose a model which reads volatility and forecasts the future values considering volatility as one of the major attributes for forecasting. In this paper, an attempt is made to develop two models - one using feed forward back propagation Artificial Neural Network and the other using Autoregressive Conditional Heteroskedasticity (ARCH) technique for forecasting stock market returns. Various parameters which are considered for the design of optimal ANN model development are input and output data normalization, transfer function and neuron/s at input, hidden and output layers, number of hidden layers, values with respect to momentum, learning rate and error tolerance. Simulations have been done using prices of daily close of Sensex. Stock market returns are chosen as input data and output is the forecasted return. Simulations of the Model have been done using MATLAB$^{(R)}$ 6.1.0.450 and EViews 4.1. Convergence and performance of models have been evaluated on the basis of the simulation results. Performance evaluation is done on the basis of the errors calculated between the actual and predicted values.

Comparative studies of gasification potential of agro-waste with wood and their characterization

  • In this work, an experimental study of the gasification on wood was carried out in downdraft type fixed bed Gasifier attached with 10 kW duel fuel diesel engine. The main objective of the study was to use wood as the biomass fuel for downdraft Gasifier and to evaluate the operating parameter of gasifier unit to predict its performance in terms of gas yield and cold gas efficiency. The influence of different biomass on fuel consumption rate, gas yield and cold gas efficiency was studied. Composition of producer gas was also detected for measuring the lower heating value of producer gas to select the feed stock so that optimum performance in the existing gasifier unit can be achieved. Under the experimental conditions, Lower heating value, of producer gas, cold gas efficiency and gas yields, using wood as a feed stock, are $4.85MJ/m^3$, 46.57% and $0.519m^3/kg$.

산란종계의 제한사양에 관한 연구 (A Study on Restricted Feeding of Egg Type Stock)

  • Field trials and research works have shown that the sexually retarded pullets are better equipped to lay larger eggs at the commencement of lay than the pullets grown under the natural conditions with no control over the rate of maturity. The method of delaying the sexual maturity by restricting the nutrient intake is receiving a considerable attention from the research workers, since the nutrient restriction can be a method of reducing the rearing cost. Many experiments were carried out to study the effect of different methods of restricting the nutrient intake of the chicken. But the comparisons between these experiments are difficult because of the differences in the environment, management, type of breed and feed, and in the length of the time during which the feed intake was restricted. In addition the comparisons were not made on an economic basis in these experiments. This experiment was designed to provide information on the reproductive responses to three different methods of restricting the nutrient intake in a egg type stock and to establish which methods are economically profitable. 유기질 퇴비의 시용이 수수${\times}$수단그라스 교잡종의 생산성, 사료가치 및 가축사육능력에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Organic Manure on Dry Matter Yield, Feed Value and Stock Carrying Capacity of Sorghum${\times}$Sudangrass Hybrid in Arable Land)

  • 본 실험은 다양한 유기질 퇴비의 시용이 Sorghum${\times}$Sudangrass hybrid의 생산성, 사료가치 및 가축사육능력에 미치는 영향을 검토하였고, 그 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. Sorghum${\times}$Sudangrass hybrid의 건물수량은 FPM이 19.60ton/ha로 가장 많았으나, PBC와의 유의한 차이는 없었다. 상대사료가치는 1회 예취에서 PBC가 80.66으로 유의하게 높았으나, 2회 예취에서는 FCM을 제외한 모든 시험구에서 유의차를 보이지 않았다. 가축사육능력은 $K_{CP}$$K_{TDN}$의 평균값으로 비교해 보았을 때, FPM이 9.45두/ha/yr로서 가장 높은 값을 보였다. 따라서 Sorghum${\times}$Sudangrass hybrid의 유기 재배 시 FPM이 생산성, 사료가치 및 가축사육능력에 있어서 다른 유기질 퇴비에 비해 좋으며, 유기질 퇴비의 연용 시에는 다른 가축분과의 혼용을 통하여 계분의 부족한 유기물을 충족시켜 준다면 작물 및 토양에 있어서 더욱 좋을 것으로 판단된다. 또한 적절한 혼합 비율에 대한 추가적인 연구가 필요할 것으로 판단된다.

한국 중부지역에서 우분의 연용이 유기 벼의 생산성 및 유기 볏짚의 사료가치, 가축사육능력에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Continuous Use of Cow Manure on Productivity of Organic Rice and Feed Value, Stock Carrying Capacity of Organic Rice Straw in Central Region of Korea)

  • 본 실험은 중부지방에서 벼 재배 시 유기 우분의 연용과 화학비료 시용이 유기 벼의 생산성, 볏짚의 사료가치 및 가축사육능력에 미치는 영향을 조사하였고, 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 유기 벼의 생초수량, 건물수량, 식물 1개체 당 낱알의 건물 중 및 개수는 1, 2년차에는 화학비료 시용구가 유의하게 높았으나(p<0.05), 3년차에는 각 시험구 간 유의차는 없었다. 또한 수확지수는 3년 모두 화학비료 시용구가 유의하게 높았으며(p<0.05), 해가 거듭할수록 각 시험구 간의 차이가 약간 줄어드는 경향을 보였다. 또한 단위면적당 가축사육능력은 $K_{CP}$$K_{TDN}$의 평균값으로 비교해 보았을 때, 화학비료 시용구가 높은 값을 보였고, 각 시험구 간의 차이는 점점 줄어드는 경향을 보였다. 특히 $K_{ME}$의 경우 3년차에 우분 시용구가 유의한 차이는 없었지만 높은 값을 보이기도 하였다. 이상의 결과로 볼 때 중부 지방에서 유기 벼 재배 시 우분을 연용 했을 경우, 처음 1, 2년은 화학비료를 시용했을 때 보다는 수량이 낮았지만 3년차부터는 화학비료를 시용했을 때와의 격차가 줄어들기 시작하였으며, 추후 우분을 연용한다면 그 격차는 더욱 줄어들 것으로 판단된다.
