Readership of online newspapers has grown with the proliferation of smart devices. However, fierce competition between Internet newspaper companies has resulted in a large increase in the number of hoax articles. Hoax articles are those where the title does not convey the content of the main story, and this gives readers the wrong information about the contents. We note that the hoax articles have certain characteristics, such as unnecessary celebrity quotations, mismatch in the title and content, or incomplete sentences. Based on these, we extract and validate features to identify hoax articles. We build a large-scale training dataset by analyzing text keywords in replies to articles and thus extracted five effective features. We evaluate the performance of the support vector machine classifier on the extracted features, and a 92% accuracy is observed in our validation set. In addition, we also present a selective bigram model to measure the consistency between the title and content, which can be effectively used to analyze short texts in general.
Automated visual grading system of lumber needs correct input image. In order to create a correct image of domestic red pine lumber 3.6 m long feeding on a conveyer, part images were captured using area sensor and template matching algorithm was applied to merge part images. Two kinds of template matching algorithms and six kinds of template sizes were adopted in this operation. Feature extracted method appeared to have more excellent image merging performance than fixed template method. Error length was attributed to a decline of similarity related by difference of partial brightness on a part image, specific pattern and template size. The mismatch part was repetitively generated at the long grain. The best size of template for image merging was
Identity recognition in real environment with a reliable mode is a key issue in human computer interaction (HCI). In this paper, we present a robust person identification system considering score-based optimal reliability measure of audio-visual modalities. We propose an extension of the modified reliability function by introducing optimizing parameters for both of audio and visual modalities. For degradation of visual signals, we have applied JPEG compression to test images. In addition, for creating mismatch in between enrollment and test session, acoustic Babble noises and artificial illumination have been added to test audio and visual signals, respectively. Local PCA has been used on both modalities to reduce the dimension of feature vector. We have applied a swarm intelligence algorithm, i.e., particle swarm optimization for optimizing the modified convection function's optimizing parameters. The overall person identification experiments are performed using VidTimit DB. Experimental results show that our proposed optimal reliability measures have effectively enhanced the identification accuracy of 7.73% and 8.18% at different illumination direction to visual signal and consequent Babble noises to audio signal, respectively, in comparison with the best classifier system in the fusion system and maintained the modality reliability statistics in terms of its performance; it thus verified the consistency of the proposed extension.
Word mismatch is the most significant problem that causes low performance in question classification, whose questions consist of only two or three words that expressed in many different ways. So, it is necessary to apply word association in question classification. In this paper, we propose question classification method using translation-based language model, which use word translation probabilities for question-question pair that is learned in the same category. In the experiment, we prove that translation probabilities of question-question pairs in the same category is more effective than question-answer pairs in total collection.
Image distortions, such as quantization errors, can have a severe negative impact on the performance of computer vision algorithms, and, more specifically, on object detection algorithms. State-of-the-art implementations of the JPEG-2000 image coder commonly allocate the available bits to minimize the Mean-Squared-Error (MSE) distortion between the original image and the resulting compressed image. However, considering that some state-of-the-art object detection methods use the gradient information as the main image feature, an improved object detection performance is expected for JPEG-2000 image coders that allocate the available bits to minimize the distortions on the gradient content. Accordingly, in this work, the Gradient Mean-Squared-Error (GMSE) based JPEG-2000 coder presents an improved object detection performance over the MSE based JPEG-2000 image coder when the object of interest is located at the same spatial location of the image regions with the strongest gradients and also for high bit-rates. For low bit-rates (e.g. 0.07bpp), the GMSE based JPEG-2000 image coder becomes overly selective in choosing the gradients to preserve, and, as a result, there is a greater chance of mismatch between the spatial locations of the gradients that the coder is trying to preserve and the spatial locations of the objects of interest.
The use of minutiae by fingerprint readers is robust against presentation attacks, but one weakness is that the mismatch rate is high. Therefore, minutiae tend to be used with skeleton images. There have been many studies on security vulnerabilities in the characteristics of minutiae, but vulnerability studies on the skeleton are weak, so this study attempts to analyze the vulnerability of presentation attacks against the skeleton. To this end, we propose a method based on the skeleton to recover the original fingerprint using a learning algorithm. The proposed method includes a new learning model, Pix2Pix, which adds a latent vector to the existing Pix2Pix model, thereby generating a natural fingerprint. In the experimental results, the original fingerprint is restored using the proposed machine learning, and then, the restored fingerprint is the input for the fingerprint reader in order to achieve a good recognition rate. Thus, this study verifies that fingerprint readers using the skeleton are vulnerable to presentation attacks. The approach presented in this paper is expected to be useful in a variety of applications concerning fingerprint restoration, video security, and biometrics.
This study analyzes the validity of the type classification of the type and design changes of apartment landscaping planting construction design changes that were completed in the private sector, efficiently manages the design changes that are displayed over landscaping planting work in general in the future, and performs research by placing the object underlying the presentation. The results are as follows. First, the percentage that occurred in the planting construction of design changes that have occurred in the apartment landscaping construction was carried out in the private sector and accounted for 61.8%. This indicates that part of the planting is a major design change. Second, as the cause of such a design change to be those associated with the field conditions such as lack of main construction period. In particular, due to a change in oral, appeared 7-48 times design changes of one review design change approval is complex, design changes of planting construction had shown a feature that occurs in multiple simultaneous. Third, the 7 types of Design Changes in planting design were delineated as 'design changes for consideration of the user', 'design changes for image improvement', 'design changes for ease of maintenance', 'design changes due to the mismatch of design statement', 'design changes due to the relationship with the engineering species of other', 'design changes due to lack of field study', and 'design changes due to the consideration of feasibility.' Fourth, 'design changes for consideration of the user' and 'design changes for image improvement' were found in more than half of the frequency of the overall changes. This differed from the results shown in public corporations. Fifth, if planting construction design change process, private companies, it was found that is showing the approval of the practice after the previous construction of the construction cost savings due to construction time. However, in the case of a public corporation, these exhibited a different aspect from the private sector and show a design change procedure that reflects the changes after the design change events in the field have occurred. The above results, the type of landscaping works in planting design change of public enterprises, regardless of the private sector, is the same in the seven types, the main reason of and procedures for design changes, indicating that there are other respects. In design change, it may be desirable to apply becomes liquidity rationality and efficiency of the dimension, depending on the nature of the landscape construction.
The wall shear stress in the vicinity of end-to end anastomoses under steady flow conditions was measured using a flush-mounted hot-film anemometer(FMHFA) probe. The experimental measurements were in good agreement with numerical results except in flow with low Reynolds numbers. The wall shear stress increased proximal to the anastomosis in flow from the Penrose tubing (simulating an artery) to the PTFE: graft. In flow from the PTFE graft to the Penrose tubing, low wall shear stress was observed distal to the anastomosis. Abnormal distributions of wall shear stress in the vicinity of the anastomosis, resulting from the compliance mismatch between the graft and the host artery, might be an important factor of ANFH formation and the graft failure. The present study suggests a correlation between regions of the low wall shear stress and the development of anastomotic neointimal fibrous hyperplasia(ANPH) in end-to-end anastomoses. 30523 T00401030523 ^x Air pressure decay(APD) rate and ultrafiltration rate(UFR) tests were performed on new and saline rinsed dialyzers as well as those roused in patients several times. C-DAK 4000 (Cordis Dow) and CF IS-11 (Baxter Travenol) reused dialyzers obtained from the dialysis clinic were used in the present study. The new dialyzers exhibited a relatively flat APD, whereas saline rinsed and reused dialyzers showed considerable amount of decay. C-DAH dialyzers had a larger APD(11.70
