  • This paper presents a method of single image dehazing and surface-based feature detection for remote sensing images. In the conventional dark channel prior (DCP) algorithm, the resulting transmission map invariably includes some block artifacts because of patch-based processing. This also causes image blur. Therefore, a refined transmission map based on a hidden Markov random field and expectation-maximization algorithm can reduce the block artifacts and also increase the image clarity. Also, the proposed algorithm enhances the accuracy of image matching surface-based features in an remote sensing image. Experimental results confirm that the proposed algorithm is superior to conventional algorithms in image haze removal. Moreover, the proposed algorithm is suitable for the problem of image matching based on feature extraction.

  • In this paper we have presented approach to automatic the direction feature vectors detection, which detects the ridge line directly in gray scale images. In spite of a greater conceptual complexity, we have shown that our technique has less computational complexity than the complexity of the techniques which require binarization and thinning. Afterwards a various direction feature vectors is changed four direction feature vectors. In this paper used matching method is four direction feature vectors based matching. This four direction feature vectors consist feature patterns in fingerprint images. This feature patterns were used for identification of individuals inputed multilayer Neural Networks(NN) which has capability of excellent pattern identification.

  • Feature detection and description are key ingredients of common image processing and computer vision applications. Most existing algorithms focus on robust feature matching under challenging conditions, such as inplane rotations and scale changes. Consequently, they usually fail when the scene is blurred by camera shake or an object's motion. To solve this problem, we propose a new feature description algorithm that is robust to image blur and significantly improves the feature matching performance. The proposed algorithm builds a feature descriptor by considering the integral projection along four angular directions ($0^{\circ}$, $45^{\circ}$, $90^{\circ}$, and $135^{\circ}$) and by combining four projection vectors into a single highdimensional vector. Intensive experiment shows that the proposed descriptor outperforms existing descriptors for different types of blur caused by linear motion, nonlinear motion, and defocus. Furthermore, the proposed descriptor is robust to intensity changes and image rotation.

  • This paper presents a system for image matching and recognition based on image feature detection and description techniques from artificial satellite photographs. We propose some kind of parameters from the varied environmental elements happen by image handling process. The essential point of this experiment is analyzes that affects match rate and recognition accuracy when to change of state of each parameter. The proposed system is basically inspired by Lowe's SIFT(Scale-Invariant Transform Feature) algorithm. The descriptors extracted from local affine invariant regions are saved into database, which are defined by k-means performed on the 128-dimensional descriptor vectors on an artificial satellite photographs from Google earth. And then, a label is attached to each cluster of the feature database and acts as guidance for an appeared building's information in the scene from camera. This experiment shows the various parameters and compares the affected results by changing parameters for the process of image matching and recognition. Finally, the implementation and the experimental results for several requests are shown.

  • This paper proposes a positional estimation method for extracted line features by stereo vision. Based on given reference plane, planar surfaces corresponding the given plane are first extracted. Then, features in the planar surfaces are selected. Using the Extended Kalman Filter the feature positions are estimated by combining area- and feature-based stereo matching results. Experimental results show the proposed method is feasible.

  • This paper presents a simple algorithm to obtain three dimensional information of an object. In the preprocessing of the stereo matching, feature point informations of stero image must be less sensitive to noise and well liked the correspondance problem. This paper described a simple technique of struture feature extraction of 3-D object and used edge-end point expanding method for unconnected line instade of Hough transform. The feature such as corner point and their angles are used for matching problem. The experimental results show that the described algorithm is a useful method for stereo correspondence problem.

It measures translation and rotation parameters using a relaxation scheme at feature points and object orinted anistropic propagation in continuous and discontinuous regions. Also an iterative improvement motion extimation based on the strongly coupled module fusion and adaptive smoothing is proposed. Computer simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

  • This paper proposes a new method of weighted template matching for machine-printed numeral recognition. The proposed weighted template matching, which emphasizes the feature of a pattern using adaptive Hamming distance on local feature areas, improves the recognition rate while template matching processes an input image as one global feature. Template matching is vulnerable to random noises that generate ragged outlines of a pattern when it is binarized. This paper offers a method of chain code trimming in order to remove ragged outlines. The method corrects specific chain codes within the chain codes of the inner and the outer contour of a pattern. The experiment compares confusion matrices of both the template matching and the proposed weighted template matching with chain code trimming. The result shows that the proposed method improves fairly the recognition rate of the machine-printed numerals.

  • In this paper, we proposed a method for automatic detection of a updating object from spatial data sets of different scale and updating cycle by using areal feature matching based on shape similarity. For this, we defined a updating object by analysing matching relationships between two different spatial data sets. Next, we firstly eliminated systematic errors in different scale by using affine transformation. Secondly, if any object is overlaid with several areal features of other data sets, we changed several areal features into a single areal feature. Finally, we detected the updating objects by applying areal feature matching based on shape similarity into the changed spatial data sets. After applying the proposed method into digital topographic map and a base map of Korean Address Information System in South Korea, we confirmed that F-measure is highly 0.958 in a statistical evaluation and that significant updating objects are detected from a visual evaluation.

  • SURF is a robust local invariant feature descriptor and has been used in many applications such as object recognition. Even though this algorithm has similar matching accuracy compared to the SIFT, which is another popular feature extraction algorithm, it has advantage in matching time. However, these descriptors do not consider relative location information of extracted interesting points to guarantee rotation invariance. Also, since they use gray image of original color image, they do not use the color information of images, either. In this paper, we propose a method for improving matching performance of SURF descriptor using the color and relative location information of interest points. The location information is built from the angles between the line connecting the centers of interest points and the orientation line constructed for the center of each interest points. For the color information, color histogram is constructed for the region of each interest point. We show the performance of our scheme through experiments.
