MUSIC-based Diagnosis Algorithm for Identifying Broken Rotor Bar Faults in Induction Motors Using Flux Signal

  • The diagnosis of motor failures using an on-line method has been the aim of many researchers and studies. Several spectral analysis techniques have been developed and are used to facilitate on-line diagnosis methods in industry. This paper discusses the first application of a motor flux spectral analysis to the identification of broken rotor bar (BRB) faults in induction motors using a multiple signal classification (MUSIC) technique as an on-line diagnosis method. The proposed method measures the leakage flux in the radial direction using a radial flux sensor which is designed as a search coil and is installed between stator slots. The MUSIC technique, which requires fewer number of data samples and has a higher detection accuracy than the traditional fast Fourier transform (FFT) method, then calculates the motor load condition and extracts any abnormal signals related to motor failures in order to identify BRB faults. Experimental results clearly demonstrate that the proposed method is a promising candidate for an on-line diagnosis method to detect motor failures.

  • KHST(Korean High Speed Train) has been utilized the total measurement system which evaluates the efficiency and a breakdown of the vehicle and it's results effect to secure reliability of the vehicle. Generally KHST has been received pulse signals from the wheel. It calculates the travel distance after counter the signals to confirm location information of the vehicle. However, there is a limit to measure the location of the vehicle due to slip, slide and the wheel attrition. We have developed a new measurement system by using GPS to complement those errors. In general, GPS receivers are composed of an antenna, tuned to the frequencies transmitted by the satellites, receiver-processors, and a highly-stable clock The GPS mounted on the roof of TT4 in KHST receives a signal from the RS232 communication port. It is connected to the network system in TT3 after converting with TCPIP communication. It is able to track the position of vehicle and synchronize the signal from different measurement system simultaneously. Therefore it is able to chase the fault occurrence, track inspection and electrical interruption at real-time situation more accurately. There is not an error coursed by vehicle conditions such as slip and the slide.

  • 본 논문에서는 우주발사체용 액체로켓엔진의 건전성 감시 및 관리 기법에 대한 연구 동향을 소개한다. 이를 위하여 미국, 유럽, 러시아와 같은 우주선진국에서 실제 우주발사체용 액체로켓엔진에 연구 및 적용되었던 고장진단 알고리즘을 조사하였다. 특히 최근 우주선진국으로 발돋움하고 있는 중국에서 적용한 기술들을 중심으로 조사하였으며 적용된 사례들을 분석하여 특징들을 나열하였다. 이를 통하여 한국형발사체 KSLV-II 및 그 후의 한국형 달탐사선 발사체 개발사업에 적용하기 위해 고려해야 할 사항에 대하여 토의한다.

  • The service quality with the various building equipments tends to depend on the individual superintendent's capability and efforts generally and this often lead to poor maintenances and managements of them. N-BMS(Networked Building Management System), proposed in this study, is a new type of building management method, which links principal equipments within many buildings into a communication network and carries out several significant missions such as fault detection, deterioration diagnosis and control the equipments and so on, as well as monitoring which is the main and unique purpose of the conventional BMS. How to construct the N-BMS was considered to keep performance of equipments high and thus to save energy and resource. LCC(Life Cycle Cost) based analysis was also performed in order to verify the effects of some maintenance and management works for the building HVAC systems.

  • Now, in Korea, the performances of the building service equipment relay on the individual superintendent's share for the assessment of performance, fault detection, deterioration diagnosis of the building service equipment. As the result, very different quality of the performance or the durability of equipment is being obtained with his skill and effort and it is also not easy to assess that quality. This finally lead to the waste of labor force and the operating cost due to the high-cost, low-efficiency system. How to construct the N-BMS was considered to save energy, resource and to conserve performance of building service equipment. The FEMIS, facility, energy/environmental management & information system, for building service offer management process integrated with BAS, FMS and EMS and so on.

  • 본 논문에서는 CMOS 회로의 stuck-open 고장 검출을 위한 로브스트(robust)테스트 생성방법을 제안한다. CMOS 회로에 대한 입력 벡터들간의 비트(bit)위치와 해밍중(Hamming weight)의 관계를 고려하여 초기화 패턴을 구함으로써 stuck-open 고장검출을 위한 테스트 생성 시간을 감소시킬 수 있으며, 고장검출을 어렵게하게 하는 입력변이지연(input transition skew)의 문제를 해결하고, 테스트 사이퀸스의 수를 최소화시킨다. 또한 회로에 인가할 초기화 패턴과 테스트 패턴간의 해밍거리(hamming distance)를 고려하여 테스트 사이퀸스를 배열하므로써 테스트 사이퀸스의 수를 감소시킨다.

  • 소프트웨어가 복잡할수록 소프트웨어의 테스트에 들어가는 비용과 시간이 점점 증가되고 있는 문제점이 존재한다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해서는 테스트에 사용되는 테스트 케이스의 수를 줄이는 것이 중요하다. 특히 단위 테스트 케이스 수를 결정하는 것에는 교호강도의 수가 중요한데 교호강도 수는 소스에서 인자간의 조합에 의해 함수의 결과에 영향을 미치는 인자들의 수를 말한다. 본 논문에서는 프로그램 코드 상에서 인자의 사용 패턴을 분석하여 특정 패턴이 되면 교호 강도 수를 늘리고 최종적으로 교호 강도수를 결정할 수 있는 방법을 제시한다. 제안하는 방법의 효과를 커버리지 및 결함 발견 수의 항목으로 실험을 통해 증명한다.

  • 낙뢰의 직격이나 유도에 의해 발생되는 서지, 전력계통의 차단기의 빈번한 개폐동작 등은 과도 과전압이 발생하며 이는 변압기, 차단기, 전력기기의 정상운전에 지장을 초래하게 된다. 본 연구는 이러한 현상을 예방하기 위해 전력기기 또는 선로에 피뢰기를 병렬로 설치하여 대책을 수립하는 방법에서 한층 더 나아가 원격으로 피뢰기의 상태를 점검하며 이벤트 발생 시 즉각적인 대책을 마련하여 부가적으로 발생하는 피해를 미연에 방지함에 그 연구의 목적이 있다.

PPC(Plant Protection Controller) is for plant protection and human life by fault detection and control action against the transient condition of plant.   • In recent years, increasing electricity use has led to considerable interest in green energy. In order to effectively supply, cut off, and operate an electric power system, many electric power facilities such as gas insulation switch (GIS), cable, and large substation facilities with higher densities are being developed to meet demand. However, because of the increased use of aging electric power facilities, safety problems are emerging. Electromagnetic wave and leakage current detection are mainly used as sensing methods to detect live-line partial discharges. Although electromagnetic sensors are excellent at providing an initial diagnosis and very reliable, it is difficult to precisely determine the fault point, while leakage current sensors require a connection to the ground line and are very vulnerable to line noise. The partial discharge characteristic in particular is accompanied by statistical irregularity, and it has been reported that proper statistical processing of data is very important. Therefore, in this paper, we present the results of analyzing ${\Phi}-q-n$ cluster distributions of partial discharge characteristics by using K-means clustering to develop an expert partial discharge diagnosis system generated in a GIS facility.
