  • In this paper, a nonlinear and adaptive back-stepping control technique is proposed for a speed control of IPMSM(Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor). The gain of back-stepping controller(including integral value of the states error) is designed for stability of the system. In order to adapting fast in variation of load torque, the controller is including load torque estimator. The simulation is completed by using PSIM software. The simulation results show that the designed back-stepping controller make the system stable in the constant torque region, and has better tracking performance than a controller without the integral gain.

  • In this paper, we propose a CMAC(Cerebellar Model Articulation Controller) neural network for controlling a non-linear system. CMAC is a neural network that models the human cerebellum. CMAC uses a table look-up method to resolve the complex non-linear system instead of numerical calculation method. It is very fast learn compared with other neural networks. It does not need a calculation time to generate control signals. The simulation results show that the proposed CMAC controllers for a simple non-linear function and a DC Motor speed control reduce tracking errors and improve the stability of its learning controllers. The validity of the proposed CMAC controller is also proved by the real-time tension control.

  • This work mainly discusses an accurate and fast islanding detection based on fractional wavelet packet transform (FRWPT)for multibus microgrid systems. The proposed protection scheme uses combined desirable features retrieved from discrete fractional Fourier transform (FRFT) and wavelet packet transform (WPT) techniques, which provides precise time-frequency information on minute perturbation signals introduced in the system. Moreover, this study focuses on the design of decoupling control with a distributed controller based on state feedback for the efficient operation of microgrid systems that are transitioning from the grid-connected mode to the islanded mode. An IEEE 9-bus test system with inverter based distributed generation (DG) units is considered for islanding assessment and smooth operation. Finally, tracking errors are greatly reduced with stability improvement based on the proposed controller. FRWPT based islanding detection is demonstrated via a time domain simulation of the system. Simulated results show an improvement in system stability with the application of the proposed controller and accurate islanding detection based on the FRWPT technique in comparison with the results obtained by applying the wavelet transform (WT) and WPT.

  • This paper presents the three section sliding mode control algorithm based on variable structure current controller design in a synchronous frame and indirect field oriented control method, and applies it to the position control of induction motor. This control scheme solves the problem of robustness loss during the reaching phase that occurs in a conventional VSC strategy, and ensures the stable sliding mode and robustness enhancement throughout an entire response. As the performance of a VSI fed induction motor drives depends on the characteristics of inner loop current controller, it is desired that the current controller have the fast tracking and robust nature. Therefore, we introduced the voltage mapping table based on the concept of voltage space vector for variable structure current control, and implemented fully digital control system using 16-bit microcontroller with on-chip peripherals without additional processing circuits. Simulation and experimental results confirm the validity of this control scheme for robust AC servo drive system of VSI fed induction motor.

  • Recently, as the demand of the information storage devices with large storage capacity such as BD(Blu-ray Disk) and HDTV(high-definition television) is increased, the optical storage devices are also required to have fast data transfer rate and large storage capacity. To satisfy these requirements, the actuator for optical disk drive should have high flexible mode frequencies for system stability. In this paper, we suggested a moving magnet type actuator having high flexible mode frequency. However, the moving magnet type actuator does not have sufficient driving sensitivities due to the weight of its moving part. To improve driving sensitivities, we designed the model with the closed electromagnetic circuit for tracking direction. In addition, driving sensitivities and flexible mode frequencies were improved by using DOE(Design of Experiments) for magnetic circuit and modifying the lens holder. Consequently, it is confirmed that the designed model is satisfied with the desired specifications.

  • In general, articulated robot control technology is limited to the design of robot arm control systems considering each joint of the robot joint as a simple servomechanism. This method describes the varying dynamics of a manipulator inadequately because it neglects the motion and configuration of the whole arm mechanism. The changes of the parameters in the controlled system are significant enough to render conventional feedback control strategies ineffective. This basic control system enables a manipulator to perform simple positioning tasks such as in the pock and place operation. However, joint controllers are severely limited in precise tracking of fast trajectories and sustaining desirable dynamic performance for variations of payload and parameter uncertainties. In many servo control applications the linear control scheme proposes unsatisfactory, therefore, a need for nonlinear techniques that increasing. for Forging process automation.

  • Now there are two types Non-contact compensation AC automatic voltage regulator (A.V.R). One is transformer compensation regulator, whose principle is the combination of multiple compensation transformers, do the compensation by turning on and off the connections of the transformer through the multi-full bridge circuit. This method removed the mechanical drive and contacts, which increases the life and the dynamic performance of the A.V.R. However, the compensation is multilevel, and it needs many compensation transformers and switches, the circuit is complex, the compensation precision is low. Another type is PWM switch AC regulator, whose principle is getting the AC voltage from the input, then induce the AC compensation voltage through commutating and high frequency PWM transforming, and phase tracking. Here the compensation is step-less, the compensation precision is high, and the response is fast. But the circuit is complex, and it needs an inverse compensation transformer, which is difficult to realize high-power applications. In this paper, it shows an Automatic Voltage Regulator which use high frequency PWM inverter do compensation. This A.V.R has the function as the custom-power, which make the performance of the power supply in a high level.

  • In surveillance, monitoring, and target tracking operations, high-resolution images should be obtained even if the target is in a far distance. Frequent movements of vehicles such as boats degrade the image quality of onboard camera systems. Therefore, stabilizer mechanisms are required to stabilize the line of sight of boatboard camera systems against boat movements. This paper addresses design and implementation of a strapdown boatboard camera stabilizer. A two degree of freedom(DOF)(pan/tilt) robot performs the stabilization task. The main problem is divided into two subproblems dealing with attitude estimation and attitude control. It is assumed that exact estimate of the boat movement is available from an attitude estimation system. Estimates obtained in this way are carefully transformed to robot coordinate frame to provide desired trajectories, which should be tracked by the robot to compensate for the boat movements. Such a practical robotic system includes actuators with fast dynamics(electrical dynamics) and has more degrees of freedom than control inputs. Backstepping method is employed to deal with this problem by extending the control effectiveness.

  • In this study, a wireless crack sensor is developed for monitoring cracks propagating in two dimensions. This sensor is developed by incorporating a laser-based optical navigation sensor board (ADNS-9500) into a smart wireless platform (Imote2). To measure crack propagation, the Imote2 sends a signal to the ADNS-9500 to collect a sequence of images reflected from the concrete surface. These acquired images can be processed in the ADNS-9500 directly (the navigation mode) or sent to Imote2 for processing (the frame capture mode). The computed crack displacement can then be transmitted wirelessly to a base station. The design and the construction of this sensor are reported herein followed by some calibration tests on one prototype sensor. Test results show that the sensor can provide sub-millimeter accuracy under sinusoidal and step movement. Also, the two modes of operation offer complementary performance as the navigation mode is more accurate in tracking large amplitude and fast crack movement while the frame capture mode is more accurate for small and slow crack movement. These results illustrate the feasibility of developing such a crack sensor as well as point out directions of further research before its actual implementation.

  • The practical use of the particle image velocimetry(PIV), a whole-field velocity measurement method, requires the use of fast, reliable, computer-based methods for tracking velocity vectors. The full search block matching, the most widely studied and applied technique both in area of PIV and Image Coding and Compression, is computationally costly. Many less expensive alternatives have been proposed mostly in the area of Image Coding and Compression. Among others, TSS, NTSS, HPM are introduced for the past PIV analysis, and found to be successful. But, these algorithms are based on small dynamic range, 7 pixels/frame in maximum displacement. To analyze the images with large displacement, Even and Odd field image separation and a simple version of multi-resolution hierarchical procedures are introduced in this paper. Comparison with other algorithms are summarized. A Results of application to the turbulent backward step flow shows the improvement of new algorithm.
