Reactor dynamics were studied by reactor noise at TRIGA MARK Il reactor whose rated power is 250KW thermal. The power spectral densities(PSD) of the noise were measured by stochastic method with high resolution digital filters and Fast Fourier Transformers. The transfer function of the reactor at zero power was identical to the theoretical characteristics. When the power was increasec above 1KW, reactor showed its poswer resonances at 3Hz and 10 Hz. It was analyzed that 3Hz peak was generated by heat transfer and coolant flow effects and 10Hz peak by nuclear reaction effects.
This paper presents the practical pressure control of hydraulic oil-pump system using SR drive for industrial application. In order to get a high performance of pressure dynamics in actual application, a data based PID control scheme is proposed in this paper. The look-up table from pre-measured data produces an approximately proper current reference according to motor speed and oil-pressure. And, PID controller can compensate the pressure error. With the combination of two references, the proposed control scheme can get a fast dynamics and stable operation. Furthermore, the suitable current controller considering the nonlinear characteristics of SRM(Switched Reluctance Motor) and practical test method for data measuring are introduced. The proposed control scheme is verified by the experimental test.
We study a class of KMS-symmetric quantum Markovian semigroups on a quantum spin system ($\mathcal{A},{\tau},{\omega}$), where $\mathcal{A}$ is a quasi-local algebra, $\tau$ is a strongly continuous one parameter group of *-automorphisms of $\mathcal{A}$ and $\omega$ is a Gibbs state on $\mathcal{A}$. The semigroups can be considered as the extension of semi groups on the nontrivial abelian subalgebra. Let $\mathcal{H}$ be a Hilbert space corresponding to the GNS representation con structed from $\omega$. Using the general construction method of Dirichlet form developed in [8], we construct the symmetric Markovian semigroup $\{T_t\}{_t_\geq_0}$ on $\mathcal{H}$. The semigroup $\{T_t\}{_t_\geq_0}$ acts separately on two subspaces $\mathcal{H}_d$ and $\mathcal{H}_{od}$ of $\mathcal{H}$, where $\mathcal{H}_d$ is the diagonal subspace and $\mathcal{H}_{od}$ is the off-diagonal subspace, $\mathcal{H}=\mathcal{H}_d\;{\bigoplus}\;\mathcal{H}_{od}$. The restriction of the semigroup $\{T_t\}{_t_\geq_0}$ on $\mathcal{H}_d$ is Glauber dynamics, and for any ${\eta}{\in}\mathcal{H}_{od}$, $T_t{\eta}$, decays to zero exponentially fast as t approaches to the infinity.

The measurement of unsteady flow rate is of vital importance to clarify and improve the dynamic characteristics in pipeline, hydraulic components and system. There is also demand for a real time flow sensor of ability to measure unsteady flow rate with high accuracy and fast response to realize feedback control of flow rate in fluid power systems. In this paper, we propose an approach for estimating unsteady flow rate through a pipeline and components under high pressure condition. In the method, unsteady flow rate is estimated by using hydraulic pipeline dynamics and the measured pressure values at two distant points along the pipeline. The distributed parameter model of hydraulic pipeline is applied with consideration of frequency dependent viscosity friction and unsteady velocity distribution at a cross section of a pipeline. By using the self-checking functions of the method, the validity is investigated by comparison with the measured and estimated pressure waveforms at the halfway section on the pipeline. The results show good agreement between the estimated flow rate waveforms and theroetical those under unsteady laminar flow conditions. the method proposed here is useful in estimating unsteady flow rate through an arbitray cross section in hydraulic pipeline and components without installing an instantaneous flowmeter.

This paper presents a systematic design method of an anti-swing control law for overhead cranes. A velocity servo system for the trolley of a crane is designed based on the dynamics of the trolley and its load. The velocity servo system compensates for the effects of load swing on the trolley dynamics so that the velocity servo is independent of load swing. The velocity servo system is used for the design of a position servo system for the trolley via the loop shaping method. The position servo system and the swing dynamics of the load are then used to design an angle control system for load swing based on the root locus method. The combined position servo and the angle control systems constitute the overall control system. In the presence of low frequency disturbances, the proposed control law guarantees accurate position control for the trolley and fast damping for load swing. Furthermore, the performance of the proposed control law is independent of the mass of the load. Experimental results on a prototype crane show the effectiveness of the proposed anti-swing control law.

Construction industry has become a larger and highly competitive industry. A successful construction project cannot be achieved only by efficient and fast construction techniques but also reasonable material cost and adequate transferring time of materials to installation. The steel industry in East Asia has become the mainstream in overall steel industries in over the world during the middle of the 21st century. China, Japan and Korea has been the main exportation countries. However, even though the international economic failure, China has increased the exportation amount and became an only exporting country which must be considered a serious problem regarding competitiveness in the international steel exportation industry. Thus, this study analyses the factors affecting the supply and demand amount of reinforced bars in the domestic field and moreover suggesting a unit cost prediction model using the System Dynamics simulation methodology, one of powerful prediction tools using cause-effect relationships. It is expected that this study contributes to the domestic steel industry growth in competitiveness in the international industry. In addition, the methodology used in this paper presents the frameworks for appropriate tools for market trend analysis and prediction of other markets.
The present study developed a numerical simulation tool for the coupled dynamic analysis of multiple turbines on a single floater (or Multiple Unit Floating Offshore Wind Turbine (MUFOWT)) in the time domain, considering the multiple-turbine aero-blade-tower dynamics and control, mooring dynamics, and platform motions. The numerical tool developed in this study was designed based on and extended from the single-turbine analysis tool FAST to make it suitable for multiple turbines. For the hydrodynamic loadings of floating platform and mooring-line dynamics, the CHARM3D program developed by the authors was incorporated. Thus, the coupled dynamic behavior of a floating base with multiple turbines and mooring lines can be simulated in the time domain. To investigate the effect of asymmetric aerodynamic loading on the global performance and mooring line tensions of the MUFOWT, one turbine failure case with a fully feathered blade pitch angle was simulated and checked. The aerodynamic interference between adjacent turbines, including the wake effect, was not considered in this study to more clearly demonstrate the influence of the asymmetric aerodynamic loading on the MUFOWT. The analysis shows that the unbalanced aerodynamic loading from one turbine in MUFOWT may induce appreciable changes in the performance of the floating platform and mooring system.
In this work, equilibrium molecular dynamics (MD) simulations in a microcanonical ensemble are performed to evaluate the friction coefficient of a Brownian particle (BP) in a Lennard-Jones (LJ) solvent. The friction coefficients are determined from the time dependent friction coefficients and the momentum autocorrelation functions of the BP with its infinite mass at various ratios of LJ size parameters of the BP and solvent, ${\sigma}_B/{\sigma}_s$. The determination of the friction coefficients from the decay rates of the momentum autocorrelation functions and from the slopes of the time dependent friction coefficients is difficult due to the fast decay rates of the correlation functions in the momentum-conserved MD simulation and due to the scaling of the slope as 1/N (N: the number of the solvent particle), respectively. On the other hand, the friction coefficient can be determined correctly from the time dependent friction coefficient by measuring the extrapolation of its long time decay to t=0 and also from the decay rate of the momentum autocorrelation function, which is obtained by time integration of the time dependent friction coefficient. It is found that while the friction coefficient increases quadratically with the ratio of ${\sigma}_B/{\sigma}_s$ for all ${\sigma}_B$, for a given ${\sigma}_s$ the friction coefficient increases linearly with ${\sigma}_B$.

In order to obtain mono-dispersed Fe NPs with high saturation magnetization, quantitative analysis method to investigate the growth dynamics of the Fe NPs synthesized by a conventional thermal decomposition method has been developed. As a result, fast nucleation process promotes formation of ~4 nm of initial nucleus with a non-equilibrium phase, resulting in low saturation magnetization. And slow particle growth with atomic-scaled surface precipitation mode (< 100 atoms/($min{\cdot}nm^2$)) can form the growth layer on the surface of initial nucleus with high saturation magnetization (~190 emu/$g_{Fe}$) as an equilibrium a phase of Fe. Therefore, higher stabilization of small initial nucleus generated just after the injection of $Fe(CO)_5$ should be one of the key issues to achieve much higher $M_s$ of Fe NPs.
Within the context of Structural Health Monitoring (SHM), it is often the case that structural systems are described by uncertainty, both with respect to their parameters and the characteristics of the input loads. For the purposes of system identification, efficient modeling procedures are of the essence for a fast and reliable computation of structural response while taking these uncertainties into account. In this work, a reduced order metamodeling framework is introduced for the challenging case of nonlinear structural systems subjected to earthquake excitation. The introduced metamodeling method is based on Nonlinear AutoRegressive models with eXogenous input (NARX), able to describe nonlinear dynamics, which are moreover characterized by random parameters utilized for the description of the uncertainty propagation. These random parameters, which include characteristics of the input excitation, are expanded onto a suitably defined finite-dimensional Polynomial Chaos (PC) basis and thus the resulting representation is fully described through a small number of deterministic coefficients of projection. The effectiveness of the proposed PC-NARX method is illustrated through its implementation on the metamodeling of a five-storey shear frame model paradigm for response in the region of plasticity, i.e., outside the commonly addressed linear elastic region. The added contribution of the introduced scheme is the ability of the proposed methodology to incorporate uncertainty into the simulation. The results demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed methodology for accurate prediction and simulation of the numerical model dynamics with a vast reduction of the required computational toll.
