탄소섬유 발열체를 이용한 증기 보일러 개발에 관한 연구 (Study on the Development of Steam Boiler using Carbon-fiber Heater)

  • Carbon fiber shows excellent heat generation value and thermal efficiency comparing with the metallic materials because of its far infrared-rays and radiant heat. So, high performance and economic steam boiler system for the industry can be manufactured by using the carbon fiber heater. The far infrared ray radiation rate was more than 90 % of carbon fiber. Steam boiler system with carbon fiber heater in this study is made up of heating section. In the proof test of steam boiler, the aimed temperature and dwelling time were at $500^{\circ}C$ for 8,000 hours, $600^{\circ}C$-3,000 hours, and $700^{\circ}C$-1,000 hours. The temperature rise rate of steam boiler with carbon fiber heater was about 40% faster than that of the conventional boiler.

Stimulating Effects of Far-infrared Ray Radiation on the Release of Antioxidative Phenolics in Grape Berries

  • This research was conducted to determine the effect of far-infrared ray (FIR) irradiation of grape berries as a potential application for manufacturing grape products with a high amount of antioxidant chemicals. Two grape cultivars, the red grape cv. Campbell Early and the white grape cv. Thompson Seedless, produced increased amounts of crude extracts, in the FIR treatments compared to a non-FIR treatment control with same temperature. However, total phenolic concentrations and antioxidant activity in a 'Campbell Early' increased in the extracts following FIR treatment, whereas those of 'Thompson Seedless' did not increase significantly. High performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) analysis indicated that functional components affecting antioxidant activity were significantly increased in the extract of 'Campbell Early' following FIR treatment. Our results indicate that application of FIR treatment in heat process of grapes increases levels of antioxidative phenolic chemicals and it may help to enhance the availability of antioxidative compounds in various grape food products.

  • IR classified by wavelength three parts NIR, MIR. FIR. There is FIR which is radiated from healthy human body the wave length is 8-14m. The Sun's ray is composed of Infared(49%), Visible light(40%) and Ultra violet(11%), however the ray getting to the earth is FIR(60%), IR(20%), and UV(20%). Human beings has utilized FIR already from time immemorial. Hershel found out Infrared for the first time, in the Industrial Revolution the Infrared and FIR had been begun to use making products. FIR with low temperature can deeply penetrate on the human body composed things without troublesome, since FIR has effectively operated on the human body at low temperature (35-40 $^{\circ}$C). In this study, we experimented in the specific temperature FlR radiation intensity. water consumption rate, feed consumption rate. survival rate and mean of weight balance with FlR radiation instrument. According to the results, the FlR radiation to the mice assisted to increase the survival rate.

거대 분자운의 원적외선 특성 (FAR-INFRARED CHARACTERISTICS OF GIANT MOLECULAR CLOUDS)

  • Infrared color-color diagram of 10 giant molecular clouds are examined to explore the dust property from the COBE Diffuse Infrared Background Experiment of the 100, 140, and $240{\mu}m$ emission. Four of them, Taurus, Mon OB1, Gem OB1, and Chameleon, show the anti-correlation in $R_{100/140}-R_{140/240}$ plot and the horizontal distribution in $R_{100/240}-R_{140/240}$ plot, which disagree with those of theoretical calculation. These could be explained by the depletion of $100{\mu}m$ and the excess of $140{\mu}m$ emission, though no existing dust model could support them. Mean color temperature of the anti-correlation region appears to be lower than that of the linear region, whose temperatures are 15.3, 17.0 K, respectively. And the linear region shows large dispersion in the plot of intensity relation. Both imply that a star formation would be more active, but not homogeneous, in the linear region compared to the anti-correlation region.

  • To take the Far-infrared(FIR) ray which is a optimized wavewlength and strength, at first, it is to be induced the characteristic algorithm and the computerized programing of FlR radiating materials. In this study, we induced that the formular of optimized FIR with physical, mathematical logic and theory, especially, Plank, Kirchhoff, Wien, Stefan-Boltzmann's logic and law. In the long run the formular was induced with mathematical integration. since we had to know the molecular wavelength. Base on the induced formular as above, we programmed the optimized FlR radiating computerized program, it would be useful to design semiconductor( VLSI) as the FlR instrument center control system.

원적외선을 이용한 단풍취의 박층 건조 및 품질 특성 (Thin Layer Drying and Quality Characteristics of Ainsliaea acerifolia Sch. Bip. Using Far Infrared Radiation)

  • 본 연구에서는 원적외선 이용하여 단풍취를 박층 건조할 경우 건조온도와 송풍속도에 따른 건조특성과 건조제품의 색도 변화를 조사하였고, 건조 전후 취나물의 항산화 성분과 항산화력 변화를 분석함으로써 고품질의 원적외선 건조 취나물 제품 생산을 위한 기초 자료를 제시하고자 하였다. 단풍취의 건조속도는 원적외선 박층 건조온도와 송풍속도가 증가할수록 빨라지고, 건조시간이 단축되는 것으로 나타났다. 특히 원적외선 박층 건조온도 $50^{\circ}C$의 송풍속도 0.8m/sec에서 건조속도가 가장 빠른 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구에서 검증한 건조모델 중 Thompson 모델은 결정계수가 0.9826 이상, RMSE는 0.1277 이하로 나타나, Lewis, Page, Henderson 모델보다 단풍취의 원적외선 박층 건조 시 함수율비 예측 정밀도가 높은 것으로 나타났다. 원적외선 박층건조 후 단풍취의 ${\Delta}L$(명도)값은 원적외선 건조온도와 송풍속도가 빠를수록 증가하는 경향을 보였고, ${\Delta}a$(적색도/녹색도)와 ${\Delta}b$(황색도) 값은 원적외선 건조온도가 낮고, 송풍속도가 느릴수록 갈변하는 현상이 심화되는 것으로 나타났다. 원적외선 박층 건조 후 단풍취의 ${\Delta}E$(색차)값도 원적외선 건조온도가 낮고, 송풍속도가 느릴수록 증가하는 경향을 보였다. 항산화 성분인 폴리페놀 함량의 경우 원적외선 건조온도가 높을수록 감소량이 증가하였고 원적외선 박층 건조 후 37.36~55.21% 감소하는 경향을 보였으며, 원적외선 박층건조조건 중 원적외선 건조온도 $40^{\circ}C$의 송풍속도 0.8m/sec와 $45^{\circ}C$의 송풍속도 0.6 m/sec 조건에서 감소율이 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 플라보노이드 함량의 경우에도 원적외선 박층 건조 후 32.24~44.18% 감소하는 것으로 나타났고, 원적외선 건조온도 $40^{\circ}C$의 송풍속도 0.8 m/sec와 $45^{\circ}C$의 송풍속도 0.8 m/sec 조건에서 감소율이 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 항산화력의 경우에도 원적외선 건조온도가 높을수록 감소하는 경향을 보였고, 원적외선 건조조건 중 $40^{\circ}C$의 송풍속도 0.8 m/sec와 $45^{\circ}C$의 송풍속도 0.6 m/sec 조건에서 항산화력 감소율이 다른 건조조건보다 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 단풍취의 건조시간, 건조 중 변색, 항산화 성분 및 항산화력 등을 고려하면 단풍취 건조제품의 고품질화를 위해서는 원적외선 박층 건조온도 $45^{\circ}C$의 송풍속도 0.6, 0.8 m/sec가 적절한 건조조건으로 판단된다.

The Radiation Spot Size due to Wiggler Errors in a Free-Electron Laser Oscillator

  • We have developed an extended three-dimensional free-electron laser (3D FEL) code with source-dependent expansion to calculate the intensity of the radiation field and the spot size in a free-electron laser oscillator. The effect of the wiggler field errors was evaluated for the case of a planar wiggler generated by a magnet stack with parabolic shaped pole faces by using the extended three-dimensional equations in a free-electron laser oscillator based on the proposed FEL facility which is to be operated in the far-infrared and the infrared regions. The radiation spot size due to the wiggler field errors also have been analyzed for wiggler errors of ${\Delta}B/B=0.0$, 0.03, 0.06 and 0.09% at z = 1 m and z = 2 m. The effect of the diffraction of radiation field due to the wiggler field errors of ${\Delta}B/B=0.0$ and ${\Delta}B/B=0.09%$ at 200 passes was evaluated by using the extended 3D code that we developed. The variation of the curvature of the phase front and the effect of the radiation field intensity due to the wiggler field errors were also evaluated for B = 0.5 T and B = 0.7 T with the wiggler error of ${\Delta}B/B=0.09%$ at 200 passes and the results were compared to those of without errors. The intensity of the radiation, behavior of the radiation spot size and the variation of the curvature of the phase were highly sensitive to the wiggler error of ${\Delta}B/B$ > 0.09%, but were less sensitive to the wiggler errors for ${\Delta}B/B$ < 0.09% in a free-electron laser (FEL) oscillator based on the proposed FEL facility.

탄화지르코늄 함유 감성 인텔리전트 의류의 써멀 마네킹 측정에 의한 발열 특성 (Heat Generation Characteristics of Emotional and Intelligent ZrC Imbedded Garment through Thermal Manikin Measurement)

  • 본 연구에서는 써멀 마네킹 실험을 통해서 탄화지르코늄(ZrC) 혼입사로 만들어진 니트와 직물 의류의 발열 특성을 연구하였다. 써멀 마네킹 측정에 의한 감성 및 인지기능 열적특성이 분석되었으며 광발열 실험결과와 비교하였다. ZrC 혼입 직 편물의 표면온도는 일반 PET 직 편물 보다 각각 $4^{\circ}C$$2^{\circ}C$ 높은 값을 보였다. 그리고 이들 직 편물 의류의 광조사상태에서 써멀 마네킹 실험에 의한 발열특성을 나타내는 보온성 Clo치는 각각 0.18과 0.08 높은 값을 보였다. 이 결과는 이성분 필라멘트의 심사부에 혼입된 ZrC에서 방사된 원적외선에 기인 된 것을 $6{\mu}m{\sim}20{\mu}m$범위의 원적외선 방사강도 결과와 EDS 원소분석에 의해 확인함으로써 가능하였다. 그리고 ZrC 혼입에 의해 직물의 압축성이 낮아지고 굽힘강성이 높은 값을 보임으로써 촉감 특성은 다소 부족함을 보였다. 그러나 ZrC혼입 직 편물의 발열특성 발현을 써멀 마네킹 측정에 의해 확인함으로써 인텔리전트 의류로서의 적용 가능성을 확인하였다.

AKARI MID- TO FAR-INFRARED OBSERVATIONS OF DIFFUSE GALACTIC EMISSION

  • We have collected dozens of mid-infrared spectra showing UIR bands from diffuse Galactic emitting regions with the AKARI's Infrared Camera (IRC) onboard AKARI, as part of the ISMGN Mission Program. The datasets cover various directions in the inner Galactic Plane ($|l|$ < 70 deg), in the outer Galactic Plane ($|l|$ > 70 deg), and in the off-Plane ($|b|$ > 2 deg). The variations in the UIR band ratios are examined in terms of the radiation environments judged from the far-infrared ($50-170{\mu}m$) spectral energy distribution (SED) made with AKARI/FIS All Sky Survey data at each slit position where mid-IR spectra were obtained. We have found that the band ratios of $6.2{\mu}m/11.2{\mu}m$ and $7.7{\mu}m/11.2{\mu}m$ toward the inner Galaxy are systematically higher than those toward the outer Galaxy and off the Galactic plane. Likely causes of the variations in properties of UIR bands in diffuse emission on a Galactic scale are discussed in this paper.

Infrared Supernova Remnants and Their Infrared to X-ray Flux Ratios

  • Recent high-resolution infrared space missions have revealed supernova remnants (SNRs) of diverse morphology in far infrared (FIR), often very different from their X-ray appearance. This suggests that the FIR emission from SNRs could be of different origins. For a sample of 20 Galactic SNRs, we examine the correlation between their FIR and X-ray properties and explore the origin of the FIR emission. We find that the SNRs with very different FIR and X-ray morphology have relatively large infrared-to-X-ray (IRX) flux ratios. We argue that the FIR emission in these SNRs is likely mainly from dust grains radiatively-heated by shock radiation. For SNRs with similar IR and X-ray morphology, the FIR emission of which is probably mostly from dust grains collisionally heated by hot plasma, we compare their IRX flux ratios with theoretical ratios from a model incorporating time-dependent dust destruction and non-equilibrium ionization cooling behind SNR shock, and discuss the implications of our result.
