털새동부 추출물의 항균효과 및 특성 (Antimicrobial Activity and Characteristics of Amblytropis pauciflora Kitagawa Extract)

  • Methanol extract of roots of Amblytropis pauciflora Kitagawa showed the antimicrobial activity to three test strains. Antimicrobial spectra of various extracts of Amblytropis pauciflora Kitagawa were tested against 24 strains of bacteria and fungi. The crude methanol extract inhibited the growth of 12 strains of bacteria and Asp. fumigatus with the exception of yeasts. The properties of the antimicrobial substance were very stable under heat(at 12$0^{\circ}C$), acid(pH 3.0) and alkali(pH 11.0) treatment. Only the root harvested in spring showed the antimicrobial activity. Among the components extracted by butanol, ginseng saponin Rg1 and various saponin-like materials were detected by TLC analysis using a plate of silica gel 60F254. The antimicrobial compound was purified by methanol extraction, activated charcoal column chromatography, Sep-pak(C18) pretreatment and reverse phase HPLC. The purified compound was detected at 13.520 min as a single peak(about 98% purity) through the HPLC analysis.

Photoacoustic Spectroscopic Study on Cobalt Incorporation onto the Surface of Mesoporous Molecular Sieves

  • The incorporation of cobalt into mesoporous molecular sieves MCM-41 and MCM-48 was carried out. Co-PO/MCM41 and Co-PO/MCM48 were prepared using Co(II) acetate solution adjusted to pH = 3.0 with phosphoric acid by the incipient wetness method. Photoacoustic spectroscopy (PAS) was used to study the local environments of Co(II) incorporated into mesopores. The band around 500 nm in PAS of as-prepared Co-PO/MCM41 and Co-PO/MCM48 with Co(II) acetate solution was changed to triplet bands around 600 nm. This could be assigned to the 4 A2(F)-> 4T1(P) transition of Co(II) surrounded tetrahedrally by oxygen ions after calcination. It may be attributable to that the octahedral cobalt species containing phosphate ligands in coordination sphere reacting with framework's silanol groups to be dispersed atomically onto the surface of mesoporous molecular sieves as a tetrahedral species. This is unlike that the Co in Co-Cl/MCM41 and direct-synthesized Co-MCM41 transforms to Co oxide phase upon calcination. Co-PO/MCM41 and Co-PO/MCM48 were stable while treated with water.

  • The gas-phase nucleophilic substitution reaction of pentafluoroanisole with $OH^-$ and ${NH_2}^-$ nucleophiles have been studied theoretically using the AM1 method. Three reaction channels, $S_N2$, IPSO and $S_NAr$ (scheme 1), are all very exothermic so that all are accessible despite the varying central energy barriers which are much lower than the reactants level. In the IPSO and $S_NAr$ channels, the reactants form directly a stable ,${\sigma}$-anion complex which proceeds to form a proton transfer complex via a transition barrier corresponding to a loose ${\pi}$-type complex with the F-(or ${OCH_3}^-$) leaving group. Due to a greater number of probable reaction sites available for $S_NAr$ compared to the other two processes, the $S_NAr$ channel is favored as experimentally observed.

  • A derivative of 1,4-Naphthoquinone coded HBU671 was synthesized and used in addition to activated carbon as composite electrode for supercapacitor application. From the electrochemical properties analysis, a specific capacitance of about $300F\;g^{-1}$ exhibited almost two times of that of activated carbon at a scan rate of $100mV\;s^{-1}$ and a potential window of - 0.2 - 1V. This improvement is due to the inherent redox reaction in HBU671. Cycle test also proved that this composite is still stable even after 1000 cycle within the applied potential window and it is highly recommended for practical application.

  • Conformational free energy calculations using an empirical potential function and a hydration shell model (program CONBIO) were carried out on antifungal agent fluconazole in the unhydrated and hydrated states. The initial geometry of fluconazole was obtained from two minimized fragments of it using a molecular mechanics MMPMI and followed by minimizing with a semiempirical AM1 method. In both states, the feasible conformations were obtained from the calculations of conformational energy, conformational entropy, and hydration free energy by varying all the torsion angles of the molecule. The intramolecular hydrogen bonds of isopropyl hydroxyl hydrogen and triazole nitrogens and the structural flexibility are of significant importance in stabilizing the conformations of fluconazole in both states. Hydration is proved to be one of the essential factors in stabilizing the overall conformation in aqueous solution. Two F atoms of phenyl ring are not identified as an essential key in determining the stable conformations and may be responsible for the interaction with the receptor of fluconazole.

  • The cold staring issue of permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSM) is a chronic problem in the field of PMSM sensorless drives. A traditional starting method, called the I-F method, is widely adopted because of its simple structure. However, when using this method, the pre-defined magnitude and frequency of the starting current should be changed according to the condition of the load and machine inertia. In this paper, a smart and simple algorithm for the cold starting of PMSM is proposed. In the proposed method, an integrated control angle from the estimated electrical rotor speed is used for vector control such as the indirect vector control of the induction machine. Thus, very stable cold starting is performed regardless of the machine load condition or inertia changing.

  • Electric power collection is one of the most important factors for the high-speed trains' operation. For the stable current collection, the contact wire of a catenary and the panhead of a pantograph should maintain a constant contact each other. In this paper, the catenary was modeled as a spring with time-varying stiffness from the point of a pantograph moving along the catenary, and the pantograph was modeled as a 3-D.O.F. mass-spring-damper system. Using the adaptive control method, the desired control performance could be obtained with the modeling errors and the time varying parameters. Pressure titration of the monomeric variant of transthyretin

  • Transthyretin (TTR) is an indispensable transporter protein of thyroxine and a retinol molecule in humans. TTR has a stable homo-tetrameric structure in its native state, while upon dissociation into monomers, it becomes aggregation-prone and can form an amyloid fibril. Although the amyloidogenic propensity of TTR has been known and investigated since the late 1990s, the structural information regarding TTR's amyloidogenic species is still elusive. Here, we employed high-pressure nuclear magnetic resonance (HP-NMR) approaches on the monomeric variant of TTR (TTR[F87M/L110M]; M-TTR) and observed that it experiences a two-step transition in response to the pressurized condition. Our study demonstrated that M-TTR in an ambient condition has heterogeneous structural features, which is likely related to the amyloidogenic propensity of TTR.

부순모래의 실용화 방안에 관한 연구 (A Study on Practicalization Plan of Concrete Using Crushed Sand)

  • This study is being done for the purpose to achieve a stable demand and supply of materials for long term. The author investigated condition of suitable mixer design method for concrete, an individual value and a character of dynamics as a supplement material by drying up the natural aggregate, and a possible practicalization plan to reduce defects to the minimum. As a result of this study, it can be acquired a good quality of concrete by the use of the natural sand (Nak Dong river sand) and the crushed sand with suitable mixing ratio. The fineness modulus (F.M) of mixing aggregate is $2.7\pm1$ at this time and this is good for workbility and plasticity of concrete.

  • 데이터의 균형은 객체 인식 분야에서 영향을 미치는 요인 중 하나이다. 본 논문에서는 폐기물 데이터 균형을 위해 Chat-GPT와 Diffusion model 기반 데이터 생성 모델을 제안한다. Chat-GPT를 사용하여 폐기물의 속성에 해당하는 단어를 생성하도록 질문하고, 생성된 단어는 인코더를 통해 벡터화시킨다. 이 중 폐기물과 관련 없는 단어를 삭제 후, 남은 단어들을 결합하는 전처리 과정을 거친다. 결합한 벡터는 디코더를 통해 텍스트 데이터로 변환 후, Stable Diffusion model에 입력되어 텍스트와 상응하는 폐기물 데이터를 생성한다. 이 데이터는 AI Hub의 공공 데이터를 활용하며, 객체 인식 모델인 YOLOv5로 학습해 F1-score와 mAP로 평가한다.
