  • The study was undertaken to ascertain the speech defect of patients with malocclusion, especially of openbite patients, by means of the spectral analysis method. The experimental group was composed of ten female openbite patients and their mean age was 13.8 yrs. The control group was also composed of ten female girls and their mean age was 13.7 yrs. As for the speech material, eight Korean monophthrongs and two Korean fricatives and two affricatives were used. Speeches were recorded and then analyzed by a Kay 7800 digital sonagraph. Formant frequency level or range was used as a phonemic parameter. The results were as follows: 1. Among Vowels /a:/ : $F_1,\;F_3\;and\;F_1/F_2$ showed abnormality. /o:/ and $/w:/:F_2,\;F_2-F_1\;and\;F_1/F_2$ showed abnormality. 2. Among Consonants /S/ and /h/ : The upper and lower borders of the frequency range showed abnormality. (equation omitted) : The lower border of the frequency range showed abnormality. $/C^{h}/$ : The upper and lower borders of the frequency range and concentration point showed abnormality.

Novel three-dimensional position analysis of the mandibular foramen in patients with skeletal class III mandibular prognathism

  • Purpose: To analyze the relative position of the mandibular foramina (MnFs) in patients diagnosed with skeletal class III malocclusion. Materials and Methods: Computed tomography (CT) images were collected from 85 patients. The vertical lengths of each anatomic point from the five horizontal planes passing through the MnF were measured at the coronoid process, sigmoid notch, condyle, and the gonion. The distance from the anterior ramus point to the posterior ramus point on the five horizontal planes was designated the anteroposterior horizontal distance of the ramus for each plane. The perpendicular distance from each anterior ramus point to each vertical plane through the MnF was designated the horizontal distance from the anterior ramus to the MnF. The horizontal and vertical positions were examined by regression analysis. Results: Regression analysis showed the heights of the coronoid process, sigmoid notch, and condyle for the five horizontal planes were significantly related to the height of the MnF, with the highest significance associated with the MnF-mandibular plane (coefficients of determination ($R^2$): 0.424, 0.597, and 0.604, respectively). The horizontal anteroposterior length of the ramus and the distance from the anterior ramus point to the MnF were significant by regression analysis. Conclusion: The relative position of the MnF was significantly related to the vertical heights of the sigmoid notch, coronoid process, and condyle as well as to the horizontal anteroposterior length of the ascending ramus. These findings should be clinically useful for patients with skeletal class III mandibular prognathism.

f-$\theta$렌즈 표면형상오차와 광학적 성능과의 연관성 분석 (An Analysis of the Relationship between Surface Profile Error of f-$\theta$Lens and Optical Performance)

  • f-$\theta$len is one of the important parts in Laser Scanning Unit because it affects on the optical performance of Laser Scanning Unit dominantly. It is necessary to find out the relationship between the surface profile error of f-$\theta$lens and the beam profile focusing on the Organic Photo Conductive drum in order to analysis the beam profile problems such as appearance of side lobe and expansion of center lobe. In this research, a simulation process which relates the surface profile characteristics to the beam profile has been developed by CODE V. The simulated beam profile also have been compared with the measurement results.

사상성 진균 Aspergillus nidulans에서 forkhead 유전자인 fkhF의 구조와 기능 분석 (Structural and Functional Analysis of a Forkhead Gene, fkhF, in a Filamentous Fungus Aspergillus nidulans)

  • 사상성 모델 진균인 Aspergillus nidulans에 존재하는 forkhead 유전자들의 구조와 기능을 체계적으로 연구하기 위해 유전체 분석을 통해 forkhead 도메인을 가지고 있는 6개의 forkhead 유전자를 발견하였다. 이들 중 4개의 유전자들은 다른 진균에서 발견되는 forkhead 유전자들과 전반적인 유사성이 있었으나, 2개의 유전자들은 다른 종에서는 보존되어있지 않은 A. nidulans 특이적인 유전자들이었다. A. nidulans 특이적 forkhead 유전자들 중 하나인 fkhF(AN8949.2) 유전자는 염색체 7번에 위치하고 있고, ORF는 2,337 bp로 구성되어 있으며 778개의 아미노산을 암호화하고 있는 것으로 추정되었다. 예상되는 FkhF 단백질의 N-말단 부위에 보존된 forkhead 도메인을 가지고 있었으며, 이 유전자의 기능을 분석하기 위해 유전자제거 돌연변이 균주를 제조하였다. fkhF 유전자 결손돌연변이주는 유성분화 유도 조건 등을 포함한 여러 고체배지 배양 조건에서 유성분화에는 영향을 미치지 않았으나 무성포자병(conidiophore)의 생성 밀도와 성숙도에 영향을 주는 것으로 관찰되었고, 야생형과 달리 진탕배양시에 무성포자병을 형성함이 관찰되었다. 이는 fkhF 유전자가 A. nidulans의 부적절한 무성분화를 억제하고 정상적인 무성포자 성숙과정에 관여하는 유전자라는 것을 보여준다.

Quality characteristics of retort samgyetang marinated with different levels of soy sauce and processed at different F0 values

  • The aim of this study was to develop retorted samgyetang marinated with different levels of soy sauce and processed at different F0 (thermal death time at 121℃) values. The tested marinade series comprised different percentages of soy sauce in water (0%, 25%, and 50% [w/w]) containing a fixed concentration of sodium tripolyphosphate (0.3% [w/w]). Following marination, samgyetang was prepared and subjected to retort processing, until an F0 value of either 8 or 29 was achieved. Meat quality analysis of the breast meat, sensory evaluation, and aroma analysis were performed as indicators of acceptability. The meat pH decreased as the soy sauce content increased, regardless of the F0 value. The shear force value significantly decreased as the concentration of soy sauce increased, but increased as the F0 value increased (p < 0.05). Lipid oxidation was not affected by marination, but increased significantly as the F0 value increased (p < 0.05). The proportion of polyunsaturated fatty acids decreased significantly (p < 0.05) as the F0 value increased. The total alkane content decreased as the F0 value increased (p < 0.05). Changes in the total volatile sulfur compound and 2-butyl-1-octanol content were affected by soy sauce marination. Marination using 25% soy sauce and retort sterilization, until an F0 value of either 8 or 29 was achieved, improved the acceptability of samgyetang. Therefore, marination using 25% soy sauce and retort sterilization until an F0 value of 8 is the process recommended for developing a soy sauce-flavored, retorted samgyetang product of acceptable quality.

유한요소해석을 통한 장간조립교 주요 부재의 안정성 분석 연구 (A Study on the Analysis for the Stability of Bailey Panel Bridge by FEM)

  • In this paper, the results of computational analysis for the stability and F.S.(Factor of Safety) of Bailey Panel Bridge have been presented by FEM(Finite Element Method). The computational analysis was conducted by using LUSAS V14.0 that is a program applicated in the field of Civil Engineering. 6-free beam elements and 3-free truss elements were considered and F.S. against Yield Stress of main sections(considered self-weight and Live-Load) was investigated through the linear-elastic analysis method. The results showed that currently used sections of bailey bridge satisfied for the standard F.S. unit and could be operated in drill of troops and battle fields.

  • PCM符號가 NRZ-L인 binary data를 5次 Bessel low-pass filter를 通하여 傳送하는 telemetry systemn에 對하여 FM方式으로 RF link를 構成하고 liniter-discriminator로 複調하였을 경우에 digital通信system의 性能評價에 重要한 bit誤差確率을 SNR에 對하여 解析的으로 檢討하였다. 實際로 設計에 적용한 telemetry system에서 bit rate를 140kHz, 變調前 filter의 f를 100kHz, 送信機의 最大周波數編移 2f를 300kHz로 設計하였을 때 f0T=0.7 및 h=2ft=2이며 SNR이 10dB일 때 bit誤差確率은 10으로 計算되었다.

Infrared Multiphoton Dissociation of $CHCl_2F$: Reaction Mechanisms and Product Ratio Dependence on Pressure and Laser Pulse Energy

  • Infrared multiphoton dissociation of $CHCl_2F$ was studied using $CO_2$ laser excitation. Three products, $C_2Cl_2F_2$, $C_2ClF_3$, and $C_2HClF_2$, were identified by the analysis of the gas mixture from the photoreaction of $CHCl_2F$. The dependence of the reaction probability on added Ar gas pressure and excitation laser pulse energy was investigated. At low pressure (< 10 torr), the reaction probability increased as Ar pressure increased due to the rotational hole-filling effect, while it diminished with the increase of Ar pressure at high pressure (> > 20 torr) due to the collisional deactivation. The ratio of two products $(C_2ClF_3/C_2Cl_2F_2)$ decreased at low pressure (< 10 torr) and increased at high pressure (> 20 torr) with the increase of Ar pressure. The log-log plot of the reaction probability vs. laser pulse energy (${\\phi}$) was found to have a linear relationship, and its slope decreased as the added Ar pressure was increased. The reaction mechanisms for product formation have been suggested and validated by experimental evidences and considering the energetics. Fluorine-chlorine exchange reaction in the intermediate complex has been suggested to explain the formation of $C_2ClF_3$.

  • 흙댐 및 자연사면(自然斜面)의 안정해석(安定解析)에 가장 많이 사용(使用)되는 Fellenius방법(方法)과 Bishop방법(方法)을 비교검토(比較檢討)하여 다음과 같은 결과(結果)를 얻었다. 1. 정상침투상태(定常浸透狀態)에서 Bishop방법(方法)이 Fellenius 방법(方法)보다 안전율(安全率)이 11~29%정도(程度) 큰 값을 나타냈다. 2. Bishop방법(方法)이 Fellenius방법(方法)보다 안전율(安全率)이 증대(增大)되는 비율(比率)($F_B-F_F/F_F$)은 경사면(傾斜面)의 기울기가 느릴수록 감소(減少)하는 경향(傾向)을 나타냈다. 3. 침투(浸透)가 없을때와 있을때의 안전율(安全率)이 증대(增大)되는 비율(比率)($F_1-F_2/F_2$)은 경사면(傾斜面)의 기울기가 느릴수록 증가하는 경향(傾向)을 나타냈다.
