Effects of the Variability of Individual Data on the Group Results; an Acupuncture Study Using fMRI (기능적 자기공명영상을 이용한 침 연구에 있어서 개체 별 다양성이 그룹분석에 미치는 영향 연구)

  • Recently, functional MRI has been used to investigate the neurobiological mechanisms of acupuncture and the specificity of acupoint. The group data tend to be regarded as more important than the individual data in the most of previous studies. This study was designed to investigate the effect of the variability of individual data on the group results. A functional MRI (fMRI) of the whole brain was performed in fifteen healthy subjects during placebo and acupuncture stimulations at the ST36 acupoint. After remaining at rest for 30 seconds, the acupuncture was inserted and twisted at the rate of 2 Hz for 45 seconds and then the acupuncture was removed immediately. This process was repeated three times. Individual and group analyses were performed by voxel-based analyses using SPM2 software. Visual inspections of the activation and deactivation maps from individual sessions have shown the large variability across fifteen subjects. This means that the group data reflected the brain activation responses of only a few subjects. We suggest that the individual data should be presented to demonstrate the effect of acupuncture.

Risk Factors for Recurrent Falls Among Community-dwelling Elderly in Rural Areas (농촌지역 재가노인의 낙상 재발 위험요인 분석)

  • This study examined the factors associated with recurrent falls among the community-dwelling elderly. The participants were 329 community-dwelling elderly. The data was collected from February 5, 2010 to February 14, 2010. Over the past 1 year, 14.3% of the 329 participants fall once, and 4.0% experienced recurrent falls. There was a significant difference among the non fallers, single faller and recurrent fallers with regard to the static balance(F=5.86, p=.003), dynamic balance(F=24.32, p<.001), risk of fall(F=9.94, p<.001) and compliance of prevention behavior related to falls(F=3.09, p=.047). The analysis results for the correlation between variables showed that the number of falls had a negative effect on the knee flexors muscular strength(r=-.15, p=.008), static balance(r=-.16, p=.004) and compliance of prevention behavior related to falls(r=-.12, p=.030) and a positive affect for the dynamic balance(r=.26, p<.001), depression(r=.13, p=.019) and risk of falls(r=.30, p<.001). The variables explained 36.0% of the variants in the occurrence of recurrent falls. Therefore, an effective recurrent fall prevention program should focus on multiple risk factor intervention.

Effectors of emtional intelligence, humor sense, and ego resilience on adjustment to the college life of nursing students (간호대학생의 감성지능, 유머감각, 자아탄력성이 대학생활적응에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the factors influencing adjustment to college life by nursing college students. Data were collected from 408 nursing students in B city from May 8, 2017 to May 12 and analyzed by ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple regression using SPSS/WIN 21.0. The degree of adjustment to college life by nursing students was $3.24{\pm}.49$. There were significant differences in adjustment to college life with respect to grade(t=2.687, p<0.001), age(F=3.187, p=0.042), academic grade(F=18.551, p<0.001), satisfaction with major(F=61.347, p<0.001), and relationship with colleagues (F=28.273, p<0.001). There were positive correlations between adjustment to college life and emotional intelligence(r=0.421, p<0.001), humor sense(r=0.360, p<0.001), and ego resilience(r=0.418, p<0.001). Regression analysis showed 41.7% of variance in nursing student's adjustment to college life was caused by grade, academic scores, satisfaction with major, relationship with colleagues, emotional intelligence, and ego resilience. These results indicated that it is necessary to determine the various factors affecting adjustment to college life and increase adjustment to college life among nursing students.

Influence of Emotional Labor, Communication Competence and Resilience on Nursing Performance in University Hospital Nurses (대학병원 간호사의 감정노동, 의사소통능력, 회복탄력성이 간호업무성과에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship amongst emotional labor, communication competence, resilience, and clinical nursing performance of university hospital nurses, and to identify the influencing factors on job performance of clinical nurses who work at two university hospitals. The data was collected using questionnaires from 216 nurses in February 2016. Data was analyzed using one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation, and stepwise multiple regression using IBM SPSS 22. There were differences in communication competence (F=3.679, p=.003), resilience (F=7.909, p<.003), and nursing performance (F=2.331, p=.044) correlates with the frequency of leisure activity. The significant relationships were found among age (r=.242, p<.001), years of service (r=.278, p<.001), emotional labor (r=.211, p=.002), communication competence (r=.585, p<.001), and resilience (r=.431, p<.001) with nursing performance in university hospital nurses. The result of the stepwise multiple regression indicates that communication competence and years of service predict 40.9% (F=75.356, p<.001) in nursing performance of university hospital nurses. The most powerful predictor was communication competence (${\beta}=.581$, p<.001), followed by years of service (${\beta}=.268$, p<.001). In conclusion, to enhance nursing performance for university hospital nurses, it is necessary to develop and utilize educational programs that enhance the communication competence and to develop strategies to support leisure activities for university hospital nurses.

Evaluate Utility of Thyroid Incidentaloma Discrimination by $^{18}F$-FDG PET/CT Delay Scan Images ($^{18}F$-FDG PET/CT검사에서 지연영상을 이용한 갑상선 우연종 감별의 유용성 평가)

  • Purpose: To evaluate the degree of malignancy of incident thyroid lesion found in $^{18}F$-FDG PET/CT findings and the usefulness of the method suggested in this study, we applicate the Delay Scan Method that differentiate a false positive benign tumor, inflammation and malignancy, as well as make the criteria of SUV. Materials and Methods: A retrograde study was conducted of 800 patients who were admitted in E hospital to receive $^{18}F$-FDG PET/CT examination. One patient who was diagnosed as primary thyroid cancer and received $^{18}F$-FDG PET/CT examination was excluded. The number of final patients of this study was 799, the reasons of $^{18}F$-FDG PET/CT examination of these patients were follow-up of old cancer or suspicious tumorous lesion in 696 and disease screening in 103. $^{18}F$-FDG PET/CT image photographing was taken in Biograph-Duo made by SIEMENS, after taking normal $^{18}F$-FDG PET/CT image (1 hr) and then 1 hr later we took the thyroid 1 bed-delayed image for the patients who showed abnormal thyroid $^{18}F$-FDG uptake and above 2.0 SUV for 2 minutes every 1 bed. For the patients who showed abnormal thyroid uptake and above 2.0 SUV, 1 hr later, we took a 1 bed-delayed image and then made a comparative study between measured $SUV_{max}$ of 1 hr-abnormal uptake image and that of 2 hr-delayed image. Results and Conclusion: In this $^{18}F$-FDG PET/CT study among the patients who showed incidental $^{18}F$-FDG thyroidal uptake the number of thyroid incidentaloma was 5 (0.63%), all of then showed benign findings. And in the case of incidental $^{18}F$-FDG uptake in thyroid, $SUV_{max}$ variance obtained from 2 hr delayed image can be a indirect criteria in differentiating benign tumor from malignancy and decrease finding error. In the cases found thyroid incidentaloma when 1) $SUV_{max}$ of focal thyroid lesion is above 5.0 and 2) $SUV_{max}$ variance between normal $^{18}F$-FDG PET/CT exam and 2 hr delayed is $1.0{\pm}0.5$, they are suspected as malignancy and confirming biopsy is to be followed. Otherwise, I also think that distinct follow-up PET or CT image study is a reasonable diagnostic method.

  • New electron deficient moiety, 6,7-difluoro-2,3-dihexylquinoxaline, was developed for the push-pull type copolymer for organic photovoltaics (OPVs). The PFDTQxF with lower HOMO energy level was synthesized using fluorene and 6,7-difluoro- 2,3-dihexylquinoxaline by Suzuki polymerization. The PFDTQxF thin film shows two absorption peaks at 368 and 493 nm. The HOMO and LUMO energy levels of PFDTQxF are calculated -5.55 and -3.91 eV, respectively. The device comprising PFDTQxF showed a $V_{OC}$ value of 0.47 V, a $J_{SC}$ value of $4.48mA/cm^2$, and a FF of 0.32, which yielded PCE of 0.78%, under the illumination of AM 1.5.

Qualitative PCR Detection of vitamin E-enriched GM Perilla (비타민 E 강화 유전자변형 들깨에 대한 정성 PCR 분석법)

  • For the development of a qualitative PCR detection method for genetically modified perilla (Perilla frutescens), perilla species-specific gene, KAS-I (Beta-ketoacyl-ACP synthase I), was selected and validated as suitable for the use as an endogenous reference gene in perilla. Primer specificity was first tested by the means of qualitative PCR analysis. The primer pair Pfru3-F/R amplifying the perilla endogenous gene, KAS-I, gave rise to an amplicon 95 bp. No amplified product was observed when DNA samples from 15 different plants were used as templates. Qualitative PCR detection method was assayed with vitamin E-enriched GM Perilla developed in Korea. For the qualitative PCR detection method, the construct-specific detection primer pairs were constructed. The primer pair TMTO-F/R amplifying the junction region of TMT (${\gamma}$-tocopherol methyltransferase) gene and OCS (Octopine synthase) terminator introduced in GM perilla gave rise to an amplicon 148 bp.

A Study on the Selection of Parameter Values of FUSION Software for Improving Airborne LiDAR DEM Accuracy in Forest Area (산림지역에서의 LiDAR DEM 정확도 향상을 위한 FUSION 패러미터 선정에 관한 연구)

  • This study aims to evaluate whether the accuracy of LiDAR DEM is affected by the changes of the five input levels ('1','3','5','7' and '9') of median parameter ($F_{md}$), mean parameter ($F_{mn}$) of the Filtering Algorithm (FA) in the GroundFilter module and median parameter ($I_{md}$), mean parameter ($I_{mn}$) of the Interpolation Algorithm (IA) in the GridSurfaceCreate module of the FUSION in order to present the combination of parameter levels producing the most accurate LiDAR DEM. The accuracy is measured by the residuals calculated by difference between the field elevation values and their corresponding DEM elevation values. A multi-way ANOVA is used to statistically examine whether there are effects of parameter level changes on the means of the residuals. The Tukey HSD is conducted as a post-hoc test. The results of the multi- way ANOVA test show that the changes in the levels of $F_{md}$, $F_{mn}$, $I_{mn}$ have significant effects on the DEM accuracy with the significant interaction effect between $F_{md}$ and $F_{mn}$. Therefore, the level of $F_{md}$, $F_{mn}$, and the interaction between two variables are considered to be factors affecting the accuracy of LiDAR DEM as well as the level of $I_{mn}$. As the results of the Tukey HSD test on the combination levels of $F_{md}{\ast}F_{mn}$, the mean of residuals of the '$9{\ast}3$' combination provides the highest accuracy while the '$1{\ast}1$' combination provides the lowest one. Regarding $I_{mn}$ levels, the mean of residuals of the both '3' and '1' provides the highest accuracy. This study can contribute to improve the accuracy of the forest attributes as well as the topographic information extracted from the LiDAR data.

On Convergence Impact Influencing of Satisfaction Clinical Practice of Dental Hygienist students (치위생(학)과 학생들의 임상실습만족도에 영향을 미치는 융합 요인)

  • This study was to identify factors influencing satisfaction on clinical practice of dental hygienist students located in G, J region. The data was analyzed by t-test, Anova, Pearson correlation coefficient, and multiple regression using SPSS 21.0 program. There were significant in satisfaction of score(F=2.925, p<.05), perceive heath status(F=8.108, p<.001), satisfaction on department(F=8.198, p<.001). The relationship on peers with score(r=.277, p=.01) and perceive health status correlations with relationships on peers(r=.327, p=.01), The satisfaction on clinical practice had positive correlations with score(r=.127, p=.05), perceive health status(r=.226, p=.01), relationship on peers(r=.240, p=.01). The factors influencing satisfaction on clinical practice were satisfaction of relationship on peers, satisfaction of department, perceive health status. The results suggest that development of program to improve satisfaction on clinical practice of dental hygiene students.

  • This study investigates the result of thermal stress analysis on burning plate by classes at outdoor gas boiler. In the analysis results at the steady state, the maximum stress and deformations are 666,8MPa at A type and 0.20476mm at B type respectively. The deformation becomes larger as the field goes on from the center to the outside at burning plate. As there are 8 types in the order of maximum stress and deformation, F and C type have safest among 8 types respectively. Therefore, F type becomes most excellent on strength and safety among 8 types. By using the analysis result of burning plate model at gas boiler, it is possible to design the model applied practically at the safe component parameters of boiler system.
