용매추출에서 McCabe-Thiele도의 작성 및 이용 (Construction and Utilization of McCabe-Thiele Diagram for the Solvent Extraction)

  • 용매추출에서 등온추출곡선은 수상과 유기상에서 평형관계에 있는 농도를 나타낸다. 등온추출곡선과 조업선을 동시에 나타낸 McCabe-Thiele도는 물질 전달공정에서 여러 유용한 정보를 제공한다. 추출반응식과 평형상수를 알고 있는 경우 등온추출곡선을 계산으로 구하는 방법을 소개하였다. 또한 분배계수가 일정한 경우 금속 추출에 필요한 추출단수를 추산할 수 있는 Kresmer식을 소개하였다.

The Solubility Characteristics of Organic Compounds in Urban Aerosol Samples

  • The solubility characteristics of organic compounds were studied in terms of the extraction efficiency as a function of the polarity of the organic solvent, and the acidity of water in urban aerosol samples collected in University of East Anglia (UEA), Norwich, England. The extraction efficiency of organic compounds were evaluated with respect to the organic carbon, -nitrogen and -hydrogen by means of a wide range of solvent which include polar and nonpolar organic solvents as well as acids and alkaline water. In addition, after being dissolved in aqueous solution, the aqueous chemistry of organic compounds were studied in terms of the organic metal complexes in aerosol, which were studied with oxalic acid, copper, and zinc. The results of this study indicate that solubility characteristics of organic compounds depend on the polarity of the solvents and the acidity of the solvents. In particular, some organic compounds are water soluble, even though they are much smaller than acetone soluble fractions. In the comparison between polar organic solvent extraction and non- polar organic solvent extraction, it can be thought that significant fraction of organic compounds analysed in the aerosol samples, are polar organic compounds because of the higher extraction efficiencies of organic compounds in polar organic solvent extraction than in nonpolar organic solvent extraction. Regarding the study of the oxalic -metal complexes, it can be thought that most oxalic acids are present in the form of oxalic -copper complexes in the aerosols collected at UEA.

이온성액체와 Deep Eutectic Solvent를 사용한 잘피에서 카페인산과 로즈마리산의 추출 (Extraction of Caffeic Acid and Rosmarinic Acid from Zostera marina Based on Ionic Liquids and Deep Eutectic Solvent)

  • 잘피의 유용성분을 추출하기 위한 dipping, ultrasonic-assisted, heating추출법의 적용성을 검토하였다. 이온성 액체와 공융용매(DES)를 잘피에 존재하는 카페인산과 로즈마린산의 추출 효율을 증가시키기 위해 첨가제로써 사용하였다. 실험에서 확인된 최적의 조건은 동결건조된 0.005 g의 잘피 뿌리 파우더와 5 mL의 methanol 그리고 0.5 g의 DES-3를 바이알에 넣은 후 30분동안 dipping하여 추출하였다. 그 결과 0.19 mg/g 카페인산과 8.48 mg/g의 로즈마린산을 얻었다. 이 방법은 잘피에 있는 카페인산과 로즈마린산을 간단하고 성공적으로 적용할 수 있었고 전통적인 용매 추출법보다 청정용매인 DES를 첨가했을 때 잘피의 유용성분 추출에 더 적합함을 의미한다.

염산용액에서 Cyanex 272 및 혼합용매와 이온성 액체에 의한 Tb(III)의 용매추출 (Solvent Extraction of Tb(III) from Hydrochloric Acid Solution with Cyanex 272, Its Mixture and Ionic Liquid)

  • Cyanex 272 shows the highest separation factor for the rare earth elements from hydrochloric acid solution among the organophosporus acidic extractants, D2EHPA and PC 88A. Solvent extraction of Tb(III) from weak hydrochloric acid solution with an initial pH 3 to 6 was compared with Cyanex 272, its mixture with Alamine 336, and ionic liquid with Aliquat 336. The solvent extraction reaction of Tb(III) using Cyanex 272 was the same as that of light rare earth elements. Synergism was observed for the extraction of Tb(III) by the mixture with Alamine 336 when the initial concentration ratio of Cyanex 272 to Alamine 336 was higher than 5. Use of the ionic liquid led to a great increase in the extraction percentage of Tb(III) from the same initial extraction conditions. While the equilibrium pH of the mixture was always lower than the initial pH, under some conditions extraction with the ionic liquid resulted in a higher equilibrium pH than the initial pH. The loading capacity of the mixture and the ionic liquid was the same and 2.6 times larger than that using Cyanex 272 alone. Ionic liquid was recommended as a suitable extractant for the extraction of Tb(III) from hydrochloric acid solution based on the ease of handling and higher extraction percentage.

  • 미세기공 중공사형 모듈을 이용한 비분산 막-용매 추출에 의하여 유기오염물을 페수로부터 분리하였다. 시스템은 향류 및 병류로 각각 진행되었으며, 분배계수의 비교로부터 MIBK가 분리용 용매로 선정되었다. 향류의 분리도가 병류보다 우수하였으며, 총괄물질전달계수도 구하였다.

Natural Dye Extraction from Merbau (Intsia bijuga) Sawdust: Optimization of Solid-Solvent Ratio and Temperature

  • The ecofriendly lifestyle has attracted considerable support for sustainable development. Natural dyes, as sustainable products, have become a research focus and development area for many scientists. Ecofriendly processing also supports circular sustainable development. This study effectively obtained tannins as a natural dye from merbau (Intsia bijuga) sawdust using water as an ecofriendly solvent. Merbau sawdust is an underutilized industrial waste. Temperature and solid-solvent ratio variations were performed to extract tannins from merbau sawdust. Temperature and solid-solvent ratio positively affected solution yield and tannin concentration. The optimal condition was identified using response surface methodology and experimental observations. A yield of 0.2217 g tannins/g merbau was obtained under the conditions of 333.15 K and 0.125 solid-solvent ratio. Extraction was controlled by convective mass transfer at the interface of solid particles.

Yield Comparisons of Different Methods of Waxy Fraction Extraction from Grain Sorghum

  • Three solvent extraction techniques were used to recover waxy tractions from grain sorghum kernels. Yield and chemical composition of the waxy tractions obtained by reflux, bench scale (recirculated solvent), and countercurrent extraction methods were compared. Waxy traction yield from countercurrent extraction (0.200%) was significantly greater (p<0.05) than the yields of wax from both reflux (0.184%) and bench-scale (0.179%) methods. The waxy traction extracted using the bench-scale method showed the greatest relative amount of long-chained (primarily C:28 and C:30) alcohols while the countercurrent-extracted wax showed the greatest relative amount of long-chained fatty acids and fatty aldehydes. Countercurrent extraction removed a higher additive percentage of fatty aldehydes, acids, and alcohols than reflux or bench-scale extraction method.

  • 본 연구에서는 염화철 에칭폐액 재생을 위하여 (주)케이엠씨에서 조합한 organophosphorus acid계의 신규용매(KMC-P)를 사용하였으며, 용매추출공정에서 신규 용매에 대한 추출효율을 증가시키기 위해 공정변수를 선정하고 변수간의 상관관계를 알아보기 위해서 DOE에 따른 최적화실험을 진행하였다. 용매 농도, pH, O/A ratio가 추출, 탈거효율에 영향을 미치는 인자로 나타났으며 최적의 탈거효율을 갖는 공정조건은 용매 농도 29.4 wt%, HCl 첨가량 0 mL, O/A ratio 7일 때, 최대 69.7%의 탈거효율을 기대할 수 있는 결과를 얻었으며 신뢰 수준은 86% 이상인 것을 확인하였다.

흡착제를 이용한 수중의 미량 이취물질 분석법 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Development of Analytical Method for Micro-Odorous Compounds in Water)

  • Even if odorous compounds remained very low concentration in water, it caused strong odor. Because Geosmin and most of odorous compound had very vaporization, those were difficult to analyze with GC/MSD and Purge & Trap. So, we needed pre-treatment method for decreasing amounts of extracting solvents, improving recovery efficiencies and increasing analytical efficiencies. This study developed efficient technology for analyzing odorous compounds, using various adsorbents and extracting solvents. The optimum adsorbent was XAD resins. Especially, XAD-2, XAD-7 and XAD-2010 were superior, but XAD-2 of these and MTBE was the optimum extraction solvent. Other extraction solvent's efficiency was in order of MTBE>Dichloromethane>n-Hexane>Diethylether. The optimum NaCl dosage for increasing efficiency was 5g in liquid-liquid extraction method. The shaking time(0∼24hr) had no concern with adsorption efficiency. The optimum adsorbent was XAD-2 resin and extraction solvent was MTBE. Dosing NaCl, adsorption efficiency was increased in liquid-liquid extraction method, but NaCl has no effect on liquid-solid extraction method. In this experimental results, this method will apply to not only Geosmin but other well-known odorous compounds (2-MIB, IBMP, IPMP, TCA) and algae toxins (Mycrocystin, Anatoxin etc)

오염화석탄산(PCP)으로 방부 처리된 목재로부터 PCP의 용매추출 (Solvent Extraction of Pentachlorophenol(PCP) from PCP-treated Wood)

  • 오염화석탄산(pentachlorophenol : PCP)으로 방부 처리된 탄약 목상자를 분해한 목재시료로부터 메탄올, 에탄올, 아세토니트릴을 추출용매로 사용하여 PCP를 추출하였다. 실험변수로는 용매종류, 건조목재 시료당 용매의 사용비율, 시료의 형태 및 크기, 추출온도 및 초음파 효과를 선정하였다. 목재의 PCP 농도는 평균 720 ppm 이었으며 추출효과는 메탄올이 가장 우수하였다. 농도가 가장 큰 시료(초기농도 1297 ppm)를 메탄올로 상온에서 추출한 결과 2시간 이내에 99%까지 제거되었다. 건조시료당 메탄올의 최소 사용비율(v/w)은 10이었으며 이 실험에서 시료의 형상(chip 및 톱밥)이나 추출온도 및 초음파 사용은 PCP 추출에 큰 영향을 미치지 않았다.
