Centipede preparation materials for external therapy were sesame oil, perilla oil, vinegar, salt, and, burnt alum. Fumigation of centipede treated paronychia, pertussis, and hemorrhoids. For the external therapy, the way of centipede powder mixing with other materials has been used. It is needed that we use dusted powder to make skin absorb its ingredients more easily, and we study intensely minor ingredients to make centipede components absorbed more effectively and do pharmacological action. Also, fumigation, a kind of another external therapy, is considered to be effective treatment of upper respiratory infection like pertussis, so it needs an in-depth study on centipede fumigation.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze vocabulary found in "Donguibogam", one of the medical books in mid-Chosun, through Corpus-based analysis, one of the text analysis methods. According to it, Donguibogam has total 871,000 words in it, and Chinese characters used in it are total 5,130. Among them, 2,430 characters form 99% of the entire text. The most frequently appearing 20 Chinese characters are mainly function words, and with this, we can see that "Donguibogam" is a book equipped with complete forms of sentences just like other books. Examining the chapters of "Donguibogam" by comparison, Remedies and Acupuncture indicated lower frequencies of function words than Internal Medicine, External Medicine, and Miscellaneous Diseases. "Yixuerumen (Introduction to Medicine)" which influenced "Donguibogam" very much has lower frequencies of function words than "Donguibogam" in its most frequently appearing words. This may be because "Yixuerumen" maintains the form of Chileonjeolgu (a quatrain with seven Chinese characters in each line with seven-word lines) and adds footnotes below it. Corpus-based analysis helps us to see the words mainly used by measuring their frequencies in the book of medicine. Therefore, this researcher suggests that the results of this analysis can be used for education of Chinese characters at the college of Korean Medicine.

  • Safety related workers, such as firefighters, have to wear a protective helmet. The Development of Helmets for safety is in progress to promote the wearable device industry. Several accidents caused by negligence in recent days have raised public attention to safety. For this reason, the amount of national budget funding for the study of fire-fighting and smart safety helmets has increased. However, most previous studies have focused on safety, rather than the application of new technologies based on physical attributes, especially the characteristics of head shape and size, even though fire helmets play the critical role of protection from flames and external shocks etc. in an emergency. This paper will present the smart technologies and newly developed designs for safety helmets that are personalized for each firefighter, based on the characteristics of their head, and will help a rescue operation to be much more safe and efficient.
