This study empirically analyzes the effect of IT SME ventures' external information network diversity on their production period reduction and productivity improvement generated from technology development. This research constructs a mediating model based on the open innovation perspective and tests it with the 138 samples of South Korean IT SME ventures based on the ordinary least squares regression. This research is expected to make a good contribution by shedding a new light on the following three points about the critical role of IT SME ventures' external information network diversity in increasing their production period reduction and productivity improvement generated from technology development which has scarcely been illuminated in the extant studies in the field of the management of technology for SMEs. First, IT SME ventures' external information network diversity positively influences their production period reduction. Second, the external information network diversity positively influences IT SMEs' ventures' productivity improvement. Third, IT SME ventures' production period reduction partially mediates the influence of IT SME ventures' external network diversity on their productivity improvement. These three fresh points are expected to provide useful theoretical and practical implications. Related to the theoretical implication, this research provides a fresh implication that IT SME ventures' external information network diversity positively influences not only their production period reduction but also productivity improvement generated from technology development. Concerning the practical implication, this study suggests that the CEOs in IT SME ventures make strategic efforts to use more diverse external information sources in order to increase their production period reduction and productivity improvement generated from technology development.

Development of information technology and Internet brought big changes in information society. Quantity of information increased rapidly and various types of information were presented through diverse channels. This change brought an impact in electronic commerce environment. A large number of products are transacted in online market. And various search functions and product information are presented for supporting customer's decision making. This study examined the effect of external information on purchase decision-making in electronic commerce environment. An experiment was conducted to see the customer product review, unit sales, etc. on purchase decision-making process in online shopping mall based electronic commerce. As a result of study, external information referring to number of purchasing, positive product review, and reliability of information has a positive effect on purchase-decision. The significance of the study can be found in that it defined 1) external information has an effect on decision-making, 2) positiveness and reliability of product information showed that they have an influence on customer, and 3) when self opinion and other person's opinion are different, one is not satisfied with decision making process. The results of the study can be of practical use in the design and implementation of online shopping mall in electronic commerce.

New technology development capability plays a key role in making small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) increase their innovation performance, such as in product or process innovation. To examine the influencing factors of SMEs' new technology development capability, this study empirically analyzes the mediating effects of SMEs' process design capability and product interior design capability on the positive association between their external information network diversity and new technology development capability. This study performs the ordinary least squares regression on a sample of 2,000 South Korean SMEs. Results reveal that SMEs' process design capability fully mediates, and product interior design capability partially mediates the positive association between the external information network diversity and new technology development capability.

Purpose - This study investigates the moderation effect of internal factor, a firms size, on the external knowledge sourcing strategy and its effectiveness in generating radical innovation. We incorporate concepts of breadth and depth as two measures to gauge the degree of openness in firms external search Research design and methodology - The dependent variable in the regression model is the percentage of innovative sales and therefore, Tobit regression is employed for estimating significant factors affecting on the ratio of first-to-market by breadth and depth in external knowledge, internationalization, and size. Results - The results show that the external knowledge, in terms of both breadth and depth, has a positive relationship with radical innovation. However internationalization as external knowledge resources is not statistically accepted. Firm size has moderating effect on innovation negatively only in case of using external knowledge resources to a high degree. Conclusions - Firms obtain external information mostly from customers, competitors, and suppliers etc. empirical knowledge in terms of scope and intensity is an important contributor to innovation. And intensity use of external knowledge and information resources can work in favor of smaller firms rather than larger ones. Internationalization seems to have little effect on innovation but it requires further researches with clear criteria and more data.

For effective ship management in VTS(Vessel Traffic Service), it needs to assess the external force acting on ship. Big data in maritime traffic can be roughly categorized into two groups. One is the traffic information including ship's particulars. The other is the external force information e.g., wind, sea wave, tidal current. This paper proposes the method to assess the external force acting on ship using big data in maritime traffic. To approach Big data in maritime traffic, we propose the Waterway External Force Code(WEF code) which consist of wind, wave, tidal and current information, Speed Over the Water(SOW) of each ship, weather information. As a results, the external force acting a navigating ship is estimated.

In this paper, we propose a unidirectional transmission of critical information obtained by keyboard hacking or kernel and keyboard driver hacking even though the computer is not connected to the external network. We show the hacking can be attempted in the proposed method to show the way preventing such attempts in advance. Firewalls and other various methods are used to prevent the hacking from the external network but the hacking is also attempted in various ways to detour the firewall. One of the most effective way preventing from the hacking attack is physically disconnect the internal intranet systems from the external internet and most of the government systems, military systems and big corporate systems are using this way as on one of the protection method. In this paper, we show the feasibility of transmission of security codes, etc via the short message to the external network on the assumption that a hacking program such as Trojan Horse is installed on the computer systems separated from the external network. Previous studies showed that the letters on the monitor can be hijacked by electromagnetic analysis on the computer to obtain the information even though the system is not connected ti the network. Other studies showed that the security code hint can obtained by analyzing the power consumption distribution of CPU. In this paper, the power consumption distribution of externally accessible power line is analyzed to obtain the information and the information can be transmitted to the external network. Software controlling the CPU and GPU usage is designed to control the power supply of computer. The sensors such as the Rogowski coils can be used on the external power line to collect the data of power consumption change rates. To transmit the user password by short message, due to the capacitive components and the obstacle from other power supply, A very slow protocol are used.

Given the increasing information overload among users of online review websites, understanding the manner in which cognitive costs are reduced and efficient information is made reliable has become increasingly important. This study targets a unique consumer review design and explores how reviews from an external peer-to-peer site embedded in an online travel agency (OTA) website influence subsequent evaluation behaviors. The empirical results indicate that (1) embedded external reviews with a high average valence tend to strengthen the influence of the positive evaluation ratio while diminishing the effect of the review volume, and (2) embedded external reviews with a large variance strengthen the positive effect of the review volume while weakening the effect of the positive evaluation ratio on subsequent positive evaluations. The findings provide practical insights for consumers and online platforms.

A wireless intraocular (IOP) pressure sensor based on micro electro mechanical system (MEMS) technology is proposed. The proposed IOP sensor uses variable inductance according to the external pressure. The proposed sensor is composed of two flexible membranes: a ferrite bottom part, an inductor, and a capacitor. The inductance of the sensor varies according to the external pressure. The resonance frequency of the sensor is also varied, and this frequency is detected using an external coil. The external coil is designed with an FR-4 printed circuit board. The feasibility of the proposed sensor structure using variable inductance to detect the external pressure is successfully demonstrated.

In this paper, we research for the Multiple External Storage configuration for external disk drive, USB Memory, SD card. in Android System with Multi-Volume Management system implementation.
