  • In this paper, we investigate the types and roles of ancient mathematical proof by exploring Gu-Jang-Sal-Sul. Gu-Jang-Sal-Sul is a ancient Chinese mathematics book. Types of proof contained in Gu-Jang-Sal-Sul are enactive proof and intuitive proof and the role of proof is explanation. And we suggest social background of proof in Gu-Jang-Sal-Sul topographically, culturally, and logically.

  • In this paper, our focus is on exploring value sharing problems related to a transcendental entire function f and its associated differential-difference polynomials. We aim to establish some results which are related to differential-difference counterpart of the Brück conjecture.

  • It's important that detect early caries of deciduous and permanent teeth to prevent dental caries and prevserve teeth, especially on proximal surface of deciduous teeth. The reason is that their prominent pulp horn lead to pulp treatment easily due to rapid caries progression. There are conventional exploring, visual inspection and radiographic exam for early caries detection. But, the standard method for diagnosing dental caries is subject and cavitation may be accelerated during exploring procedure. Caries can be diagnosed up to 40% mineral loss with radiograph. $DIFOTI^{(R)}$ (Digital Imaging Fiber-Optic TransIllumination) is diagnostic imaging system for early caries detection using fiber-optic illumination. It is possible that remineralize the tooth surface without tooth preparation and conserve the tooth structure by using $DIFOTI^{(R)}$.

  • This study aimed at exploring, based on the current states and status of onboard training ship, plans to improve the boarding training management for fisheries high school. The results were as follows. The problems with the management of onboard training ship were summarized as the following four types. Firstly, The most training ships throughout the country became superannuated. Secondly, the safe equipments for training ships were necessary to compensate the defects to fall short of the international safety management standards. Thirdly, the problems could result from the dualized system between ownership and management, since training ships were owned by metropolitan and provincial education offices and operated by management centered schools. Fourthly, middle technicians such as professional fisheries manpower were not easily supplied with. The plans to improve the above problems were as in the following. Firstly, support and help of Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries were needed to launch new onboard training ships which substitute for the superannuated. Secondly, new onboard ships were required to be launched according to the updated international safety management standards. Thirdly, Korea Institute of Maritime and Fisheries Technology should hold onboard training. Fourthly, on-site onboard training expertise, systemic management, safety, etc. should be compensated through industry-university-institute collaboration.

  • This paper proposes the necessity of a walking period in footstep planning and details situations in which it should be considered. An optimization-based fast footstep planner that takes the walking period into consideration is also presented. This footstep planner comprises three stages. A binary search is first used to determine the walking period. The front stride, side stride, and walking direction are then determined using the modified rapidly-exploring random tree algorithm. Finally, particle swarm optimization (PSO) is performed to ensure feasibility without departing significantly from the results determined in the two stages. The parameters determined in the previous two stages are optimized together through the PSO. Fast footstep planning is essential for coping with dynamic obstacle environments; however, optimization techniques may require a large computation time. The two stages play an important role in limiting the search space in the PSO. This framework enables fast footstep planning without compromising on the benefits of a continuous optimization approach.
