심해석유 탐사 및 개발의 검토 (Review of Deepwater Petroleum Exploration & Production)

  • General aspects of deepwater petroleum exploration and production were identified and related technical challenges were addressed. Historical perspectives, insight, processes, and engineering applications are reviewed to enhance the design capability of the domestic offshore industry. The technical challenges and unique aspects of deepwater exploration and production were identified. The assessment of deepwater exploration, drilling, and production systems is a key stage for performing the front end engineering design (FEED). The global trends in deepwater development, including the feasibility for Korea, were reviewed.

  • Since the late 1980s, the sequence stratigraphic method has become a critical tool for hydrocarbon exploration/development projects in many frontier and mature sedimentary basins. The successful application of this method with high resolution 3D seismic data and well data is particularly important in frontier and deepwater areas, where exploration risk and capital commitment are high. Many international major and national oil companies have been using sequence stratigraphic approach as one of the main interpretation tools for the evaluation of their high impact projects. Applied correctly, this integrated interpretation method is a powerful tool that can be used to unravel the complex stratigraphy of a given basin and to dramatically increase overall understanding of various depositional models for both siliciclastic and carbonate systems.

우주개발사업의 복합성을 고려한 산업연관분석 (An Interindustry Analysis Considering Complexity of Space Exploration Project)

  • 본 연구는 우주개발사업이 갖는 복합성을 반영하여 산업연관분석을 수행한 것이다. 구체적인 분석대상은 2014년부터 2020년까지 수행될 것으로 예정되어 있는 달 탐사 사업이다. 종전에는 이러한 우주개발사업을 항공기산업이나 공공연구사업 중 하나로 분류해서 단일사업으로 산업연관분석을 수행하였는데 이러한 방식으로는 정확한 산업파급효과를 측정하는데 한계가 있다. 본 연구에서는 달 탐사 사업을 구성하는 8개 부문별 예산을 이용하여 생산유발계수, 부가가치유발계수, 취업(고용)유발계수 등의 가중평균값(WAC)을 산출해서 이 사업의 산업파급 효과를 분석하였다. 그 결과 7,157억원의 예산이 국내에 지출될 달 탐사 사업의 생산유발효과는 12,296억원, 부가가치유발효과는 3,246억원, 취업(고용)유발효과는 4,855명(4,171명)으로 나타났다. 산업파급효과와 더불어 산업연쇄효과를 분석하였는데 전방연쇄효과를 나타내는 감응도 계수는 0.7419, 후방연쇄효과를 나타내는 영향력 계수는 1.1690으로 나타나서 달 탐사 사업이 중간재보다는 최종재의 특성을 더 많이 갖고 있음이 확인되었다.

광산개발 타당성 평가 및 생산에 있어서 3차원 모델링 적용 사례 (Application of 3-Dimensional Modeling in Mine Feasibility Study and Production)

  • 3-dimensional modeling methods have been used in the every step of resource development; Exploration, reserve estimation, mine feasibility study, mine design and mine production. This report shows seven cases for which 3-dimensional modeling is used in resource development. Six projects deal with resource esimation, mine feasibility study and production. And another deals with mine rehabilitation. These cases show that 3-dimensional modeling method is beneficial to understand the real state of ore deposit and complex underground structures. Moreover, 3-dimensional modeling is the most efficient method for mine planning and management in the every step of resource development.

우주 현지자원활용 글로벌 동향 (Global Trends of In-Situ Resource Utilization )

  • 과거 1970년대까지의 달 표면탐사에서는 단기간 달에서의 임무 특성을 가지는 것에 비해 최근 달 표면탐사는 달에서의 장기체류와 이를 기반으로 궁극적으로 화성까지 탐사 범위를 확장하는 방향으로 진행되고 있다. 인간의 달표면 장기체류를 실현하기 위해서는 탐사 현지 자원을 활용하여 체류에 필요한 소비재나 연료 등의 현지 생산 및 사용이 중요한 전제가 된다. 국제우주탐사협의체(ISECG, International Space Exploration Coordination Group)에서 각국의 우주탐사 계획을 반영하여 제시하는 글로벌 우주탐사 로드맵에는 달표면 탐사로부터 화성탐사로 이어지는 발전 단계가 제시되며 각 단계에서 현지자원활용은 중요한 요소가 되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 국제우주탐사협의체의 현지자원활용(ISRU) 격차분석 보고서를 기반으로 현지자원활용의 기술 분야를 현지 연료 및 소비재 생산, 현지 건설, 우주상 제조, 그리고 생성 결과물의 보관 및 활용, 자원활용에 필요한 전력시스템 등과 같은 연관 분야로 분류하여 주요 분야에서의 기술 개발 및 검증 현황을 분석한다. 다수의 국가는 달 자원 중 극 지역 영구음영지역의 얼음물 이용 그리고 표토에서 산소 등의 추출에 우선 순위를 부여하고, 무인 착륙임무를 통하여 달 남극 영구음영지역 근처에서 물질 및 물 분포 확인을 준비하고 있다. 자원 활용을 위하여 수전해를 이용한 수소, 산소 등 연료 생산, 모사토를 이용한 달 표토에서 산소의 추출 등의 기술을 개발하고 있다. 자원활용 기술의 개발을 위하여 지상에 달표면 모사환경을 구현하고 기술의 개발, 시나리오의 시연 등을 통한 효율적 현지자원활용 구현 방법 등을 모색하고 있다. 지속 가능한 달 표면 탐사를 위하여 각국은 달 표면 도달, 자원의 조사, 물질의 추출 등에 서비스 구매 등 민간 영역의 능력을 활용하고 발전시키는 노력을 병행하고 있다.

호주 Olympic Dam 사례를 바탕으로 한 MT 기반 심부 지하 광물자원 탐사의 국내 적용성 (Domestic applicability of MT-based deep underground resource exploration based on the Australia Olympic Dam case)

  • In this study, the development and production of electric vehicles and hydrogen vehicles are presented as a method for realizing carbon-neutral. Accordingly, the demand and need for development of underground metal mineral resources such as copper and nickel has increased. The research was carried out using MT survey, which is very useful for deep exploration such as mineral resources and oil exploration because of it's low cost and explorable depth. In Korea, there are very few cases of MT exploration in terms of mineral development, so the study was conducted based on the MT exploration conducted previously in AusLAMP, Australia. Through comparative analysis of the MT exploration data conducted to identify the ore body in the deep area of the Olympic Dam in Australia, with the data directly calculated in 2D inversion, it was confirmed that it can have a positive effect on the possibility of resource development and carbon neutrality using MT exploration in Korea.

북극 석유·천연가스 자원 기술개발 현황 및 전망 (The Trends and Outlook of Technology Development for Oil and Gas in the Arctic)

  • The rising global demand for energy resources may lead to greater interest in the Arctic region. Since it has various resources, such as oil and gas, and large potential as a strategic location in exploration and production (E&P), there is likely to occur island sovereignty issues between the five arctic costal states and other countries. While global warming has led to the opening of the Northeast Passage and the Northwest Passage, several obstacles may impede the development of this area such as the low temperature environment, infrastructure problems in a limited area, flow assurance, environmental regulations, etc. To overcome these problems, various techniques have been applied in the exploration, development, production, transportation, and environment fields and it seems to be made technical development in extreme environment. In this study, the E&P status of representative states and development technologies in the Arctic region have been summarized with regard to carrying out E&P related to drilling, development, production, and operation in oil and gas fields. Furthermore, environmental factors have been taken into account to enhance progress with regard to E&P and ensure sustainable development in the Arctic. On that basis, it will be possible to secure oil and gas field development, production technology and R&D infrastructure in the Arctic.

  • The thermal signature of nucleation process is characterized by the induction time, the degree of supercooling, and the equilibrium temperature depression. The initiation of nucleation presents stochastic characteristics. The factors that affect nucleation are mechanical impact, ionic concentration, mineral surface characters, and pore size. Hydrate-bearing sediments behave mechanically like other cemented sediments. The data set has important implications for the calibration and interpretation of geophysical measurements and downhole logs collected in gas hydrate provinces, providing particular insight for the interpretation of P- and S-wave data and resistivity logs. In addition, laboratory formation history and ensuing pore-scale spatial distribution likely have a more pronounced effect on the macroscale mechanical properties of hydrate-bearing sediments

Genetic Effects of Polymorphisms in Myogenic Regulatory Factors on Chicken Muscle Fiber Traits

  • The myogenic regulatory factors is a family of transcription factors that play a key role in the development of skeletal muscle fibers, which are the main factors to affect the meat taste and texture. In the present study, we performed candidate gene analysis to identify single-nucleotide polymorphisms in the MyoD, Myf5, MyoG, and Mrf4 genes using polymerase chain reaction-single strand conformation polymorphism in 360 Erlang Mountain Chickens from three different housing systems (cage, pen, and free-range). The general linear model procedure was used to estimate the statistical significance of association between combined genotypes and muscle fiber traits of chickens. Two polymorphisms (g.39928301T>G and g.11579368C>T) were detected in the Mrf4 and MyoD gene, respectively. The diameters of thigh and pectoralis muscle fibers were higher in birds with the combined genotypes of GG-TT and TTCT (p<0.05). Moreover, the interaction between housing system and combined genotypes has no significant effect on the traits of muscle fiber (p>0.05). Our findings suggest that the combined genotypes of TT-CT and GG-TT might be advantageous for muscle fiber traits, and could be the potential genetic markers for breeding program in Erlang Mountain Chickens.

  • Following the first Public Release of the AKARI Point Source catalogues, we have worked on the production of a new far-infrared All-Sky Diffuse mapping product. In this paper we report first results from the All Sky diffuse maps that will shortly be released to the community, based on analysis of data from the Far Infrared Surveyor ($65{\mu}m-160{\mu}m$) instrument. These data are likely to have a strong impact on studies of extended structures, and the diffuse ISM.
