  • This paper presents the characteristic analysis and experiment of pitching moment in permanent magnet linear synchronous motor (PMLSM) for precision machine tools. In this paper, we define force characteristics of the moment and the moment analysis by the finite element method. Manufacture experiment and we will compare the results of finite element analysis and experimental results.

  • Base Isolation system is an effective design strategy that provides a practical substitute for the seismic design of bridge. In this study, the dynamic tests was performed on HDB (Hysteretic Damping Bearing) and Dynapot. Then, the dynamic analysis was carried out for a bridge using the experimental results to estimate the seismic performance of bearings. Analysis for bridge was performed for four types of earthquake loadings. The result of dynamic test and theoretical analysis indicate that the performance of HDB and Dynapot is appropriate for the earthquake loading.

  • Densification behavior of SiC powder was investigated under cold compaction. A special form of the Cap model was proposed from experimental data of SiC powder under triaxial compression. To compare with experimental data of SiC powder under cold compaction, the proposed constitutive model was implemented into a finite element program (ABAQUS). Finite element calculations from the Cam-Clay model and the modified Drucker-Prager model were also compared with experimental data of SiC powder. The agreements between experimental data and finite element results obtained from the proposed constitutive model are reasonably good. In die pressing, finite element results obtained from the Cam-Clay model and the modified Drucker-Prager model, however, show lower average density of SiC powder compacts compared to experimental data.

  • This paper presents the experimental result and theoretical analysis result to investigate the correlation between the operating force, angle and locking torque for vehicle hood frame. Also, we derived the experimental equation that using the results for experiment and theory. The hood frame is switching-devices used for opening and closing the vehicle hood. It needs the correlation data between locking torques of each joint, operating force and angle of hood frame. The correlation data for torque and reaction force of hood frame obtained through experiment and theory analysis. Finally, the experimental equation of the locking torque prediction for the hood frame is derived.

  • This paper highlights the experimental and numerical investigations performed on a tubular T-joint fabricated from circular hollow sections under axial compressive loads applied at the brace. Tests were performed on a reference joint and the joint wrapped with Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer (CFRP). The Nitowrap EP carbon fiber with Nitowrap 410 resin serve as a composite material is used for wrapping the T-joint. Schematic diagram of the fabricated tubular joint for the experimental test setup, along with the experimental and numerical results are presented. After performing these experiments, it has been demonstrated that the joint wrapped with CFRP has a better strength and lesser deflection than a reference joint. Finite element analysis carried out in Ansys reveals that the results were in good correlation with the experimental values.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to summarize trends and status of nursing research utilizing experimental designs in the Journal of Rheumatology Health over the past 10 years. Method: The Journal of Rheumatology Health published 37 experimental research articles between 1994 and 2004. These articles were included in a retrospective descriptive analysis. A checklist was utilized for data collection. Results: Qoasi-experimental researches were more frequent than pre-experimental research, but there were 8 research studies which had no hypothesis. The most frequently used nursing interventions were exercise/movement, and cognitive, followed by sensitive, and social interventions. There were very few research studies that used random assignment for internal validity. The rate of effectiveness of self-help interventions was lower than socio-psychological, cognitive, or motor-physical interventions. There was no research regarding families of patients with rheumatoid disease. Conclusion: Rigorous experimental research design is needed for internal and external validity in future research. Generalizing the effects of nursing interventions that are the results of rigorous experimental designs will contribute to promote the quality of life of patients with rheumatism and their families.
