This paper propose a heuristic algorithm based on the Branch-Exchange (BE) method to solve Optimal feeder Routing(OFR) problem for the distribution system planning. The cost function of the OFR problem is consisted of the investment cost representing the feeder installation and the system operation cost representing the system power loss. We propose a properly designed heuristic strategy, which can handle the horizon-year expansion planning problem of power distribution network. We also used the loop selection method which can define the maximum loss reduction in the network to reduce calculation time, and proposed a new index of power loss which is designed to estimate the power loss reduction in the BE. The proposed index, can be considered with both sides, the low voltage side and voltage side branch connected with tie one. The performances of the proposed algorithms and loss index were shown with 32, 69 example bus system.
This study was conducted to investigate the effects of Trichostatin A (TSA) on cumulus expansion during mouse oocyte maturation. TSA treatment inhibited cumulus expansion and significantly reduced the cumulus expansion index (CEI) (p<0.05). To determine the underlying mechanism, the expression levels of several key factors that play crucial roles in cumulus expansion including components of extracellular matrix (ECM) (Has2, Ptgs2, Ptx3, and Tnfaip6) and Growth differentiation factor 9 (GDF9) were measured in control and TSA treated samples by real-time PCR. The effect of TSA on ERK phosphorylation (p-ERK1/2) in cumulus cells and GDF9 protein level in fully grown oocytes (FGOs) were detected by Western blotting. The expression levels of the ECM genes were significantly decreased (p<0.05) by TSA treatment while GDF9 expression did not response to TSA (p>0.05). TSA treatment blocked the activation of ERK1/2 (p<0.05) and had no significant effect on GDF9 protein expression (p>0.05). Collectively, these results suggested that TSA treatment altered ECM gene expression and blocked ERK1/2 activation to inhibit cumulus expansion in the mouse.
Objective: This study aimed to systematically analyze the effect and stability of miniscrew-assisted rapid palatal expansion (MARPE) to provide a reference for the clinical treatment of patients with maxillary transverse deficiency (MTD). Methods: We searched PubMed, Science Direct, Web of Science, Embase, Cochrane Library, CNKI, and Wanfang Database for relevant studies published before February 18, 2021 and selected them according to the eligibility criteria. The Cochrane Handbook for Systematic Reviews (version 5.1.0) criteria were used for the quality assessment of randomized controlled trials, while the scoring protocol of the methodological index for non-randomized studies was used for non-randomized controlled trials. Statistical analysis was performed using the RevMan5.3 software. Results: All the included studies showed a relatively high success rate of expansion. The changes in both the intermolar and alveolar widths after MARPE were statistically significant. MARPE exhibited greater skeletal expansion effects than did conventional RPE. The midpalatal suture was opened in parallel after MARPE. A small amount of relapse was observed 1 year after expansion. MARPE caused tooth inclination and a decrease in alveolar height, but it was less significant than in conventional RPE. Conclusions: MARPE may be an effective treatment modality for patients with MTD. It causes great transverse skeletal expansion in late adolescence. In comparison to conventional RPE, MARPE has lower detrimental periodontal effects and has certain clinical advantages.
This study measures how Korean shipping policies influence the expansion of the country's merchant fleet using system dynamics. It uses various indexes as factors influencing the gross tonnage of the Korean merchant fleet, such as the Baltic Dry Index, Howe Robinson Container Index, China Containerized Freight Index, and Worldscale Index, as well as the US dollar-Korean won exchange rate, world merchant fleet statistics, and the debt ratio of Korean shipping companies. After establishing the simulation model, the mean absolute percentage error is found to be less than 10%, confirming the accuracy of the model. Therefore, a sensitivity analysis is conducted to measure the influence of the selected shipping policies, including the gross tonnage of vessels registered under the Korean second registry system, loans of publicly owned financial institutions to shipping companies, ship investment fund, and the number of shipping companies participating in the tonnage tax scheme. The sensitivity analysis reveals that the influence of vessel tonnage and loans to shipping companies is the most significant, while that of the number of companies participating in the tonnage tax scheme is minimal.

Spatial variability is an inherent uncertainty of soil properties. Current reliability analyses generally incorporate random field theory and Monte Carlo simulation (MCS) when dealing with spatial variability, in which the computational efficiency is a significant challenge. This paper proposes a KL-FORM algorithm to improve the computational efficiency. In the proposed KL-FORM, Karhunen-Loeve (KL) expansion is used for discretizing random fields, and first-order reliability method (FORM) is employed for reliability analysis. The KL expansion and FORM can be used in conjunction, through adopting independent standard normal variables in the discretization of KL expansion as the basic variables in the FORM. To illustrate the effectiveness of this KL-FORM, it is applied to a case study of a strip footing in spatially variable unsaturated soil under rainfall, in which the bearing capacity of the footing is computed by numerical simulation. This case study shows that the KL-FORM is accurate and efficient. The parametric analyses suggest that ignoring the spatial variability of the soil may lead to an underestimation of the reliability index of the footing.
The failure mechanism of a deep hard rock tunnel under high geostress and high geothermalactivity is extremely complex. Uniaxial compression tests of granite at different temperatures were conducted. The complete stress-strain curves, mechanical parameters and macroscopic failure types of the rock were analyzed in detail. The brittleness index, which represents the possibility of a severe brittleness hazard, is proposed in this paperby comparing the peak stress and the expansion stress. The results show that the temperature range from 20 to $60^{\circ}C$ is able to aggravate the brittle failure of hard rock based on the brittleness index. The closure of internal micro cracks by thermal stress can improve the strength of hard rock and the storage capacity of elastic strain energy. The failure mode ofthe samples changes from shear failure to tensile failure as the temperature increases. In conclusion, the brittle failure mechanism of hard rock under the action of thermal coupling is revealed, and the analysis result offers significant guidance for deep buried tunnels at high temperatures and under high geostress.
The effects of variable moisture content, screw speed and barrel temperature on the physicochemical properties of red ginseng powder extrudates were investigated. The raw red ginseng powders were processed in a co-rotating intermeshing twin-screw extruder. Primary extrusion variables were feed moisture content (20 and 30%), screw speed (200 and 250 rpm) and barrel temperature (115 and $130^{\circ}C$). Extruded red ginseng showed higher crude saponin contents (6.72~7.18%) than raw red ginseng (5.50%). Tested extrusion conditions did not significantly affect the crude saponin content of extrudates. Increased feed moisture content resulted in increased bulk density, specific length, water absorption index (WAI), breaking strength, elastic modulus and crude protein content and decreased water solubility index (WSI) and expansion (p<0.05). Increased barrel temperature resulted in increased total sugar content, but decreased reducing sugar content in the extrudate (p<0.05). Furthermore, increased barrel temperature resulted in increased amino acid content and specific length and decreased expansion and bulk density of extrudates only at a higher feed moisture content. The physicochemical properties of extrudates were mainly dependent on the feed moisture content and barrel temperature, whereas the screw speed showed a lesser effect. These results will be used to help define optimized process conditions for controlling and predicting qualities and characteristics of extruded red ginseng.
This study investigated both the chemical and antioxidative characteristics of wheat flour added with 10, 20 and 30% immature chalssalbori flour; further, the quality characteristics of bread dough during yeast fermentation were assessed. As the addition rate of chalssalbori flour into wheat flour increased, the DPPH radical scavenging capacity, water absorption index, water solubility index and viscosity were all increased. Moreover, the bread dough with an increased addition rate of chalssalbori flour demonstrated an increased pH, reduced fermentative expansion power and a darker yellowish color. The bread dough added with chalssalbori flour after mixing showed higher hardness, gumminess and adhesiveness, but lower cohesiveness and springiness compared to the control; however, these texture characteristics were changed during fermentation. In the present study, the mixed flour with 10% immature chalssalbori flour conveyed similar pasting characteristics to those of wheat flour; moreover, its bread dough showed higher springiness and fermentative expansion power. Furthermore, a delay effect of starch retrogradation can be expected compared to the control.
This study was carried out to investigate the effects of super heated steam on the physical and chemical changes of burley cut tobacco. Total sugar, total alkaloid, ether extracts, crude ash, total nitrogen and pH for leaf chemical constituents were analyzed. Filling power and fineness index for physical properties, and carbonyl compounds, phenol compounds, amonia, pH, hydrogen cyanide nicotine, carbon monoxide, total volatile base and tar for smoke components were also analyzed. The cut tobacco treated with super heated steam showed significant decrease in total sugar and total alkaloid. The filling power of the sample treated with the super heated steam system was increased abruptly when heated at over 250℃. The fineness index showed similar tendency to that of common toast method. Super heated steam treatment slightly decreased carbonyl compounds, phenol compounds, hydrogen cyanide, nicotine, carbon monoxide and tar in the tobacco. Especially the decrease of ammonia was the most remarkable. The pH of smoke was a little different compared with that in the common toast. The sensory test results showed that, compared to the common conveyer moving system, the tobacco treated with super heated steam system brought out more roasted flavor, lowered impact, irritation, and sting, further improved aftertaste, and lowered bitterness. The super heated steam treatment method used in the studies is expected to give better filling power, mild taste and toasted odor of tobacco than that of the common method for toast treatment. Key words : burley tobacco, super heated steam, expansion, toast.

This paper proposes a simple static overmodulation strategy that extends the linearity of the inverter output voltage. The proposed method obtains the reference vector having the instantaneous value directly from the modulation index based on the magnitude of fundamental voltage, and has a simplified form of phase command. This method does not need trigonometric functions for calculating the magnitude of the reference vector. The magnitude of reference voltage and holding angle in the overmodulation region corresponding to the modulation index are determined in advance to have the same fundamental voltage magnitude by using the result of Fourier series expansion.
