In an attempt to examine the risk factors and analyze an odds ratio for risk factors associated with mild and moderate. severe hypertension, this study was carried out from August, 1987 to September, 1997. From periodic health examinations of insured adults, 747 subjects were assigned to nomotensives, mild hypertensives and moderate' severe hypertensives. Major findings obtained from the study are as follows: 1. The Body mass index(BMI) was revealed a significant difference among the 3 groups. Also, there was a significant positive correlation between the BMI and systolic, dyastolic blood pressure. 2. Cholesterol was revealed to be significantly different among the 3 groups. Also, there was a significant positive correlation between the cholesterol and systolic, dyastolic blood pressure. 3. Urine protein and a cardiovascular family history was revealed to be significantly different among the 3 groups. The presence of urine protein and cardiovascular family history were significantly higher in hypertensives than nomotensives. 4. A preference for salty food, a preference for flesh and the frequency of flesh eating were not significantly different among the 3 groups. 5. Smoking habits, frequency and duration of cigarette smoking were not significantly different among 3 groups. 6. The habit of alcohol consumption and the frequency and duration of alcohol consumption were not significantly different among the 3 groups. 7. The habit of exercise and its frequency and duration were not significantly different among the 3 groups. 8. Statistically significant elevated odds ratios were noted in the following BMI(mild hypertensives; 2.48, moderate. severe hypertensives ; 4.65), urine protein(mild hypertensives ; 2.37, moderate. severe hypertensives; 6.77), cholesterol(moderate. severe hypertensives ;1.64), cardiovascular family histoy(moderate severe hypertensives; 4.77). Based on these results, the significant risk factors of mild, moderate. severe hypertension were BMI, cholesterol, urine protein, and family history, but diet, smoking, alcohol consumption, and exercise had no significant association.

Objectives: The purpose of this study is to identify the extent of the health behaviors of juveniles with experience in drug and the extent of their oral health behaviors. Then the impact of such factors on the oral health was analyzed. Methods: The analysis in this study used the raw data from 'The Fifth Korea Youth Risk Behavior Web-based Survey' after getting approval for use from the Center for Disease Control. The research subjects of this study were juveniles with experience in drug. Analysis was done by using 8 socio-demographic variables, 6 health behaviors related variables, 4 oral-health behaviors related variables and 1 oral health related variable. All survey data were analyzed by SPSS WIN 17.0 program. as frequency analysis and logistic regression. Results: The factors that give impact on the oral health of juveniles with drug experience were found as: gender, academic year, study grade, school type, school class, city scale, economic status, residential type, experience in alcohol, experience in smoking, obesity, frequency of medium-level physical exercise, eating breakfast frequency, hours of sleeping, number of tooth-brushing in one day, brushing teeth after lunch frequency, experience in dental treatment and experience in oral health training. Conclusions: In order to improve the oral health of juveniles with drug experience, health behaviors such as stop-smoking, stop-drinking and regular physical exercise are recommended. In addition, they should stop using drugs that threats their oral health. The development of nursing intervention to maintain the continuous enhancement of their oral health is also required.
Objective: This study aimed to analyze the effects of consecutive whole body vibration through heel raise posture on the center of pressure and electromyography of anterior tibial muscle, lateral gastrocnemius and soleus muscles during single-leg stance. Method: The subjects of this study included 30 healthy males in their 20's, with the following inclusion criteria: no history of orthopaedic medical history, no participation in regular exercises, no history of whole body vibration exercise, and right leg being the dominant leg. The experimental procedure involved pretreatment measurement of eye open single-leg stance, application of whole body vibration for 30 seconds, post-treatment measurement (3 measurements in total). Static and dynamic movements have been measured over 2 separate experiments, with 72 hours gap between the experiments. Static movement involved maintaining single-leg heel raise posture for 30 seconds while applying whole body vibration, and dynamic movement involved heel raise (15 repetitions over 30 seconds) while applying whole body vibration. The strength of applied whole body vibration was 35 Hz frequency and 2~4 mm amplitude. Results: As the single-leg posture after static heel raise posture, mediolateral velocity of the center of pressure at post 2 and post 3 were significantly reduced compared to the pre-treatment measurement. In addition, the percentage for reference voluntary contraction in anterior tibial muscle and soleus and median frequency at anterior tibial muscle and lateral gastrocnemius muscle at post 3 were significantly decreased compared to the pre-treatment value. As the single-leg posture after dynamic heel raise posture, the mediolateral 95% edge frequency of the center of pressure and median frequency at anterior tibial muscle, lateral gastrocnemius muscle, and soleus muscle at post 3 were significantly reduced compared to the pre-treatment value. Conclusion: Acute whole body vibration via static and dynamic heel raise posture have positive effect on mediolateral posture control during single-leg stance.
This study was designed to evaluate the effect of pelvic floor muscle exercise using biofeedback and electrical stimulation after normal vaginal delivery. The data were collected from November 1999 to April 2000 at a university hospital located in Seoul, Korea. Out of 49 women with normal vaginal delivery, 25 of experimental group(with exercise) and 24 of control group(without exercise) were questioned about lower urinary symptoms, discomfort during sexual intercourse and daily life. The maximum pressure of pelvic floor muscle contraction(MPPFMC) and duration of pelvic floor muscle contraction(DPFMC) were measured at pre-treatment, the end of treatment and 8 weeks after a treatment program. The pelvic floor muscle exercise program(using biofeedback and electrical stimulation) was applied to the experimental group twice a week for 4 weeks at the incontinence clinic and the pelvic floor muscle exercise at home for that time and more 8 weeks. Data were analyzed by t-test, $x^2$-test, Fisher's exact test and the repeated measures ANOVA. The results were as follows; 1) MPPFMC(p=0.000) and DPFMC(p=0.021) were significantly increased in the experimental group. 2) In the lower urinary symptoms, daily frequency(p=0.001), nocturia(p=0.002), incontinence episode(p=0.016), stress incontinence(p=0.012), quantity of incontinence(p=0.026), straining(p=0.041), and strength of stream(p=0.009) were significantly decreased in the experimental group. 3) Discomfort during sexual intercourse had not a significant difference between the two groups, which was not significantly decreased as time passed. 4) In the discomfort during daily life, activity restriction(p=0.042), exercise restriction (p=0.008), interpersonal relationship restriction(p=0.046), and discomfort of general life(p=0.027) showed a significant difference between the two groups, which were not significantly decreased as time passed. In conclusion, it is suggested that the pelvic floor muscle exercise using biofeedback and electrical stimulation might be a safer and more effective program for the improvement of postpartum pelvic muscle contraction.

This study purpose is to improve athletes by investigating the relation between the leadership behavior type of athletes and athlete satisfaction and exercise flow. The sampling method was non-probabilistic sampling method. The number of questionnaires was 381 for analyzing the data. SPSS/PC+ Window 21.0 version statistical program were used for analyzing the questionnaire answers. Frequency analysis, factor analysis, correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis were used. The study results are as follows. First, there were positive correlations between leadership behavior type of athletes and athlete satisfaction and exercise flow, but not between authoritative behavior of leader behavior type and exercise flow. Second, the effect of leadership behavior type of athletes on satisfaction of athletes was positive on social interaction related with training, instruction, and social support, on task execution related with training and instruction, and on coaching related with training, instruction, and positive feedback. Third, the effect of leadership behavior type of athletes on flow of exercise was positive on cognitive commitment related with training, instructions and positive feedback, and on behavioral commitment related with training, instructions, positive feedback, and social interaction. So, athletes will be able to perform good exercise skills if they come to the game in flowing exercise satisfaction and exercise.

This study aimed to investigate the relation between self-esteem and satisfaction. After gathering study subjects (exercise participants) and deciding the population in 2014 in Jeonbuk city area, convenience sampling method was used to analyze the date from 278 subjects. The retrieved questionnaire in the research was analyzed in Window SPSS version 21 statistical program. Frequency analysis, exploratory factor analysis, reliability analysis, and correlation analysis were used to find correlations between test values. Multiple regression analysis was used to find the effects of the test values. The study results are as follows. First, the exercise participants' positive self-esteem exhibited a positive relationship with competence, relatedness, and autonomy, which are sub factors of basic psychological needs satisfaction. Also, negative self-esteem had a negative relationship with competence, relatedness, and autonomy. Second, exercise participants' self-esteem had a positive effect on competence and autonomy in positive self-esteem and a negative effect on negative self-esteem. Relatedness had a positive effect in positive self-esteem but not in negative self-esteem. Thus it is necessary to increase positive self-esteem and make various exercise programs about basic psychological needs satisfaction of the exercise participants and strategic activity guide for exercise participants participating in exercise consistently.

In this study, 2 kinds of twist run models as exercise equipments are compared by durability analyses of fatigue and vibration. Maximum equivalent stresses are shown as 3.3 MPa and 16.6 MPa at the parts of stress concentrations at models 1 and 2. As the values becomes much lower than yield stress of this models, these models are shown to be safe designs. Model 1 becomes stronger than model 2 at natural frequency analysis. Fatigue lives become lowest at four axis parts and one axis part respectively in cases of models 1 and 2. Maximum damage probability at fatigue is shown to be 2.4% near the average stress of 0 in case of model 1 but this probability becomes 0.6 % in case of model 2. Model 1 has the maximum damage possibility 4 times more than model 2 at these states. As the result of this study is applied by the design of twist run, the prevention on fatigue damage and the durability are predicted.
Purpose: The purpose of present study was to explore relationship between physical activity (PA) behavior and self-efficacy among older Korean-Americans (OKAs) based on reviewing major theories that are used to understand PA behavior, particularly as they relate to older adults within sociocultural contexts. Methods: 151 OKAs, living in California, were recruited and interviewed once. Self-efficacy and PA level were measured by Exercise Self-Efficacy Scale, Community Healthy Activities Model Program for Seniors (K-CHAMPS) questionnaire, respectively. Results: 82.8% of OKA women and 72.4% of OKA men had relatively low ($38.8{\pm}29.3$) self-efficacy related to PA. Exercise self-efficacy was statistically significant and positively associated with frequency for moderate and greater PA (r = 0.25, p < .01), frequency for all listed PA (r = 0.21, p < .05), caloric expenditure for moderate and greater PA (r = 0.23, p < .01), and caloric expenditure for all listed PA (r = 0.31, p < .01). Conclusion: Social Cognitive Theory including self-efficacy can provide insight about how to shape strategies that encourage OKAs to adhere to regular PA because it focuses on environmental as well as personal factors. Increased efforts are needed to understand the other factors associated with being active in OKAs.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of the seniorobic program on physical function and fall in elderly. Methods: The experimental group and control group was composed of 22 subjects each. The subjects in the experimental group had participated in the seniorobic program for 12 weeks which consisted of exercise and education. Muscle strength, flexibility, balance and the frequency of fall for each subject were measured before, and at the 6th and 12th weeks of the seniorobic program. Data were analyzed using SPSS /WIN 12.0 program. Results: The experimental group had significantly increased their flexibility at the 6th and 12th weeks of the seniorobic program, their the lower limb muscle strength and balance at the 12th week of the seniorobic program. There was no significant difference in the frequency of fall between the experimental group and the control group during the period of seniorobic program. Conclusion: These results suggest that the seniorobic program can increase lower limb muscle strength, flexibility and improve the balance of the elderly.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to compare health promotion lifestyles of college nursing students between students who live with their parents and students who are self-boarders. Methods: The sample consisted of 375 college nursing students in C and S city. Self report questionnaires were used to measure the variables. In data analysis, the SPSSWIN 18.0 program was utilized for descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and multiple regression analysis. Results: The mean score for Health Promotion Lifestyle in living with the parents group was significantly higher than that of the self-boarders group (t=-2.16, p=.031). In multiple regression, perceived health state, exercise frequency, self-rated knowledge about health, and grade were significant predictors of Health Promotion Lifestyle in college nursing students, explaining 26.3%. Conclusion: This study suggests that perceived health state, exercise frequency, and self-rated knowledge about health, and grade are significant influencing factors in Health Promotion Lifestyle in college nursing students. Therefore, strategies which improve these variables must be developed for college nursing students.
